No one can see the future, but I've a fairly good sense of where at least 300 hours of my life will go next year. Dragon's Dogma 2 carries over essentially the same basic plot as its predecessor, telling a story that revolves around the Dragon and the person whose heart he stole, who then becomes the Arisen. Although presented differently, much ******** the same between the two titles; however, its differences are what make it a more interesting experience. The sequel is the ******* of the two games, and that means there is more of a story to be uncovered in Vermund and Battahl compared to Gransys. View the full article

Today’s the birthday of the Triple-I Initiative, a 45-minute showcase of game announcements and trailers from the likes of Slay The Spire devs MegaCrit, Darkest Dungeon devs Red ***** and ***** Cells custodians Evil Empire. What makes a “triple-I” game a “triple-I” game, as opposed to (hawk, *****) a regular indie? I've given it some thought, and I think the answer is: "has more money and status than most indies, but not, like, Call of Duty levels, and also one our partners is Gearbox Publishing, so this is perhaps ‘indie’ in the Geoff Keighley sense." Don’t expect any of Keighley's beloved Kojima interludes or dance numbers in this one, however. The IIIIs are a leaner, quieter showcase with no host or advertising or celebrity drop-ins – you can read more about the thinking behind the event in my GDC interview with a few of the participating studios. But wait, stop, don’t do that. The showcase is about to begin, and you can watch it below. Once the showcase is done, I’ll update this piece with a brisk round-up of the major announcements. Gloating insiders that we are, we’ve already written a few up in advance - you'll find them under the Triple-I Initiative tag. Read more View the full article

Kenshi is one of the most utterly strange games I've ever had the pleasure of playing, and it holds a special place in my heart. It was the impetus behind one of my first-ever published pieces of games writing, which means you can probably blame it—at least in part—for the fact you have to keep reading my yammering on this very website. Starfield is a massive game that can sap hundreds of hours away from its players but those who want to make the experience even more challenging can now do so thanks to a particularly difficult mod. Well, the latest showcase of the Destiny 2 The Final Shape expansion was quite something, wasn't it? Among a deluge of exciting new info was the reveal of three new The Final Shape Exotics, which let you steal and combine perks from other Exotic armor pieces across Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters, regardless of which class you are. The upcoming remake of The Crow has been delayed by a little over a month, so we all have a bit more time to be prepared for its likely controversial reviews. Lionsgate is set to show off a bunch of its upcoming slate of projects today at CinemaCon, but according to Deadline, there's been a few changes to exactly when some of its films are coming out. One of the most notable, the remake of The Crow directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Bill Skarsgård, has had its release date shifted from June 7 to August 23. That obviously won't change people's opinions of the film when it is released, so it isn't exactly clear why the change has been made. For those of you that aren't aware, the original 1994 The Crow unfortunately resulted in the ****** of its lead actor Brandon Lee's ****** due to an accidental ********* with a prop ****. The film was obviously ultimately finished, using Lee's stunt double as a stand-in for remaining scenes, but understandably left the film with an even sadder undertone than there already was (the main character literally ***** and comes back to life as part of the story). This upcoming remake has already proved controversial, as even the original director Alex Proyas doesn't seem very happy about its existence. Read more View the full article
