  1. Birthday boy karrigan finally made it past the finish line again at a CS2 grand final with a remarkable seventh consecutive series win over MOUZ. It was a straightforward affair in the end to cap off a strong run from the international side. MOUZ couldn’t quite recover from a slow start on their own map pick as they had to battle back from an 11-5 deficit on Overpass, eventually falling short 13-10, a scoreline that made proceedings feel much closer than they actually were. Broky was the star of the show with a 104.9 ADR on the opening map and 22 ****** to match. View the full article
  2. One highly skilled Elden Ring fan has recently taken inspiration from another player's screenshot to produce some immensely impressive artwork of Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. Their creative feat adds to the never-ending stream of amazing fan art that Elden Ring has inspired to date. View the full article
  3. The Crew, Ubisoft's 2014 racing game, closed its doors on March 31st. After that date, launching the game took you to a splash screen and then presented an error message when trying to advance, because the servers are no longer offline. Ubisoft have now taken the extra step of revoking The Crew licenses from purchasers and removing it from their library. Read more View the full article
  4. The space exploration adventure of The Outer Worlds can be a memorable journey, but there are plenty of things to do even after you reach the game's end. Developer Obsidian Entertainment, experts in the RPG genre, have made a galaxy fully impacted by your personal choices. The corporate-run space colony of this game is directly impacted by your decisions, making it almost infinitely replayable. View the full article
  5. Starfield players are calling for a new quality-of-life fix to deal with a minor issue in the game. It's been nearly a month since the game's last update and promised major changes from developer and publisher Bethesda haven't arrived yet, which seems to be why its player community has been taking to Starfield mods to add new features. 6. Gen.G edged out T1 with a nail-biting 3-2 performance in the grand finals of the LCK Spring Split 2024 to become the first team to secure four consecutive titles under their belt. This is their fifth LCK split win in total, with Chovy leading the squad to their golden era. Starting the series with a convincing win, Gen.G looked to repeat their recent performances against T1 from the group stage, where they beat their rivals back to back. Meanwhile, T1 had their Worlds heroics to lean on in terms of morale and momentum for this momentous matchup. View the full article
  7. One Stardew Valley quest is actually a lot easier than it seems. Most quests in Stardew Valley are relatively simple Special Orders, in which an NPC will post a note to the bulletin board asking for a specific item. The item can be an everyday object the player is liable to have thousands of, or some rare, hidden artifact that may take hours to find. But overall, it's as simple as finding the item and bringing it back, at which point the player will receive a reward and a friendship or romance increase with the relevant Stardew Valley character. 8. Survival and town-building RPG Bellwright will release on Steam this month, with developers Donkey Crew announcing that they're targeting April 23 for a release. 9. Mike Ybarra, former president of Blizzard, has some up with the slightly baffling idea that players should be able to tip developers after beating $70 games. In today's episode of "how do we let these people run massive companies," the now former Blizzard president Mike Ybarra, who left the company back in January, has suggested introducing a tipping system into video games. "I've thought about this idea for a while, as a player, since I've been diving into single player games lately," wrote Ybarra on Twitter. "When I beat a game, there are some that just leave me in awe of how amazing the experience was. At the end of the game, I've often thought 'I wish I could give these folks another $10 or $20 because it was worth more than my initial $70 and they didn't try to nickel and dime me every second.' "Games like [Horizon Zero Dawn, **** of War, Red ***** Redemption 2, Baldur's Gate 3], Elden Ring, etc. I know $70 is already a lot, but it's an option at the end of the game I wish I had at times. Some games are that special. I know most will dislike this idea… I realise we are tired of 'tipping' in everything else - but I view this different from a pressure to tip type scenario many face and give feedback on." 10. After Nintendo essentially had the Switch emulator Yuzu shut down last month, Discord is seemingly banning creators of other emulators and their servers. Last month, Nintendo and the creator of Yuzu, an emulator specifically for Switch games, settled the former's lawsuit with the latter agreeing to pay $2.4 million in "monetary relief." As a result, you can no longer easily download Yuzu, making Switch emulation much less accessible, and it set a precedent for future emulator developers - one that essentially says "try to do this, and you'll be a whole lot poorer." Now, as reported by The Verge, it appears that Discord is taking action against other Switch emulators by outright banning the creators of Suyu and Sudachi, two new emulators that are based on Yuzu. According to a statement from Discord's director of product communications Kellyn Slone provided to The Verge, "Discord responds to and complies with all legal and valid Digital Millennium Copyright Act requests. In this instance, there was also a court ordered injunction for the takedown of these materials, and we took action in a manner consistent with the court order." Read more View the full article
  11. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has received a small patch fixing the menu for the final boss' ****** screen, and I am overwhelmed with joy and jealousy. Slight spoilers ahead for the final boss of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It's a bit of a staple for a Final Fantasy game to have a multi-phase final boss ******, each with their own unique ******* patterns and annoyances. That's all well and good, and with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth I didn't have all that much trouble. Except, on the very last phase of the final boss, even though I was maybe two hits away from winning, it got me with a one-hit-KO move. After that point, I was met with a retry menu that was worded so confusingly, I ended up having to do every single phase again. Read more View the full article
  12. A Baldur's Gate 3 player online has crafted a unique character build, which allows them to become Avatar: The Last Airbender's Aang in Larian's RPG. Creating unique characters is one of the best parts of Baldur's Gate 3, and it's great to see players recreating their favorites from other series, too. View the full article
  13. Prime Video's Fallout show has mostly gone down well with fans, though there are some that are wondering if New Vegas is still canon. The Fallout show finally released earlier this week, and in general it's been received very positively by both critics and fans - our own Alex enjoyed the show so much he installed both Fallout 4 and New Vegas, which should tell you how he feels about it. However, some story beats have left certain fans wondering if the beloved and Obsidian-developed New Vegas is still canon. It's somewhat understandable as the show doesn't make it the clearest just when it's set, and there is a moment that I won't spoil (it's not even been a week, we can hold off on spoilers) that at first glance seems it might have radically changed the canon of New Vegas. If you're a New Vegas lover, though, you don't have all that much to worry about. Bethesda design director Emil Pagliarulo was asked pretty directly by a fan on Twitter whether the RPG was canon or not, with the developer responding quite plainly "Of course it is. We've never suggested otherwise." In fact, Pagliarulo even outlined the key dates of when each of the games are set, and the show is set furthest in the future. New Vegas is set in 2281, but the show is set a ful 15 years later in 2296, meaning anything that might have happened in that time should make sense. Read more View the full article
  14. Helldivers 2 players who have switched to the western front this week to deal with the Automaton uprising are getting ***** and tired of dealing with their character’s major weakness, *****—which the bots are more than capable of dishing out across the system. Players flocked to support one Diver who sparked discussion on the game’s subreddit on April 13, calling the constant barrage of ***** tornados and burning to ****** “ridiculous,” demanding Arrowhead devs make a fix. “It’s just silly and not fun,” the player said. 15. Ye olde 1990s knockabout shooter Rise of the Triad was remastered and rereleased as Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition last year. As our Shaun Prescott said at the time, it hasn't aged well but you should still play it. It's a goofball historical artifact with some fun power-ups and more hidden doors than Castle Dracula, and it's just received an update... Read more.View the full article
  16. The release of Stardew Valley Update 1.6 introduced a number of new crops, including carrots, which one player discovered could be used to feed horses for a speed boost. Developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone included a number of major changes and minor fixes in Stardew Valley Update 1.6, with more patches on the way, and fans have been sharing a number of surprise discoveries from the new content additions. 17. Destiny 2‘s newest mode Onslaught has landed well with guardians following the Into the Light update. Onslaught is simple: ***** the enemies, throw the batteries in the base, earn rewards. But a few clever players have found an unintended interaction with the batteries that have made life so much easier. Instead of throwing the ADU batteries into the ADU, you can instead throw them at the defenses you helped construct—and in doing so, repair them if they are damaged. A clip of the interaction from Twitch streamer Onpam was shared on April 13, and already the community is taking notice. Even better, the battery can be picked up, meaning that with enough time, you can use a single battery to fix all of your defenses before depositing it into the ADU for that all-important scrap. 23. Fallout: London is an ambitious project, a Fallout 4 overhaul set it what probably isn't be a "green and pleasant land" in the post-apocalyptic times. I mean, it might still be green but only because it's glowing. It's a big project, one that will feature Baldur's Gate 3 voice actor Neil Newbon, but it's had to push its planned April 23 release date back due to Fallout 4's next-gen update, which is set to go live on April 25... 24. It’s the age-old question: What good is an amazing *****-to-****** ratio in Call of Duty if you lose the game? At the same time, you’ve got to flex on the lobby with your supreme gunplay—so which is most important? Modern Warfare 3 players were split over the two metrics as discussion was sparked in an April 14 thread on the MW3 subreddit. One player questioned the point of getting ****** if you can’t close out your matches. “Every time people rant (or more rarely, brag) about the game, they cite their K/D ratio. No one really seems to cite the W/L ratio,” they wrote. While many players favored the win-loss ratio being a true stat to judge a player’s skill, others supported the *****-to-****** ratio simply because the main factor an individual can control.
