Ubisoft has been receiving a lot of negativity recently due to its decision to shut down the online functionality of The Crew, effectively ******** the game. Now, the sequel-to-a-sequel, The Crew Motorfest is being review-bombed on Steam by disgruntled gamers, sending the game to a half-price ***** days after launch. The Crew Motorfest launched originally in September of last year, though it dropped on the biggest PC storefront, Steam, just three days ago on Apr. 18. It didn’t take long for the game to receive a wave of negative reviews, warranted by gamers’ dissatisfaction with Ubisoft’s recent decisions regarding the original title. At the time of writing, The Crew Motorfest sits at a “Mixed” review rating, with recent reviews being completely disabled (likely by Valve) and the game itself selling for half the price. The ***** left after finishing Baldur's Gate 3 can be tough to fill - my friends and I just this week wrapped up a near 100-hour campaign, and now we're looking for the next RPG to take our attention. One worthy contender in that field is Wartales, the open-world, turn-based medieval strategy game from developer Shiro Games that sees you (and your friends, if you'd like) leading a band of mercenaries in search of adventure, fortune, and glory. Already boasting an impressive 91% Steam rating from over 21,000 reviews, a new DLC just dropped that transforms the epic into a management sim. Read the rest of the story... Sunday April 21 @ 4:40am PDT Arrowhead now says that thanks to an Automaton *******, it is now "unable to provide updates to liberation percentage and ongoing galactic war progress for the foreseeable future." In what feels like an act of defiance, it looks like we're meant to lose the next Helldivers 2 major order. After we beat two billion Terminids in less than a day Arrowhead Game Studios gave us the task of successfully defending ten planets, and it's not going well. Now, a message from one of the community managers says there are "grim projections" for us, and that we'll likely lose ground on both fronts against the bots and bugs. You might want to wait a touch before you carry out any major orders in Helldivers 2, as it seems there's a problem related to tracking them. If you're currently out in the trenches fighting for sweet, sweet democracy in Helldivers 2, but you're noticing that no progress is being made on the game's current major orders, it appears there's a reason for that. Earlier today, the official Helldivers 2 Twitter account put out a notice saying there's a "minor outage" that's stopping your "liberation efforts" from being tracked properly, and it's not entirely clear why right now. "Helldivers! Our galactic war systems are suffering a minor outage after the destruction of a long-range array on Vernen Wells," reads the tweet, in character as always. "During this time, your liberation efforts may not be tracked and progress may not display properly. Our teams are looking into the issue as we speak!" To put it into real world terms, there's some kind of bug (pun not intended), and developer Arrowhead is trying to fix it, but you'll have to wait a bit before it's ready. It's not actually clear as to whether it's just a visual issue, and that progress is being tracked but just not displayed, but maybe if you don't want to have your time wasted, it's safe to hold out until the issue is resolved. There's no question that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is already a massive game with a rich world to explore and a wealth of quests to embark upon. However, a free update may give players a major reason to revisit the Northern Realms almost a decade after its initial launch. View the full article
People generally love Bethesda's Fallout games these days, but the announcement of Fallout 3 apparently led to some quite serious ****** threats. Despite not receiving a mainline entry since 2015 with Fallout 4 (I'd argue 2018's Fallout 76 is more of a spinoff given its online focus), the series is doing quite well for itself at the moment. Tons of people are playing all of the games, and sales for Fallout 4 are up a ridiculous 7500% in Europe at the moment. That's obviously because of Amazon's recent live-action adaptation of the beloved video game series, which has thrust the games back into the spotlight. The show itself is doing well too, as season 2 has already been confirmed. However, things weren't always peaches and cream when it comes to Bethesda's approach to the Fallout world. In a recent video from Fallout 3 and 4 creature designer Jonah Lobe, the artist who is in part responsible for what the Deathclaw looks like these days, shared quite plainly that following the announcement of Fallout 3, the studio received a lot of ****** threats. "When it was announced that Bethesda was going to take on the Fallout franchise there was a lot of excitement, a lot of enthusiasm, and a lot of ****** threats," Lobe explained. Helldivers 2 can be as challenging as it is engaging, especially in late-game runs. A recent Reddit discussion offered made a post that contained one of the most important tips for all Helldivers. The post, made on April 21, urges players of Helldivers 2 to call for extraction in rounds as soon as it is available. Once the timer hits zero, the shuttle with the callsign Pelican-1 will arrive and **** down any enemies in the extraction area to allow players to safely get out and end the mission. The gorgeous world and delightful gaslamp fantasy designs of Nightingale really caught my eye, but a rocky launch via Steam Early Access has left the survival game with mixed reviews, with Inflexion Games CEO Aaryn Flynn admitting he was "not satisfied" with the launch. The developer has just taken a first big step on the road to recovery, however, with the release of Nightingale update 0.2, which brings a pretty sizable count of upgrades to the table as the team works on offline mode and increased build limits. Supergiant Games recently held a technical test for Hades 2, leading to some datamining the game for future content. Earlier this week, Supergiant finally gave people the chance to go hands on with Hades 2 after announcing it back in 2022, thanks to a technical test on Steam. The game isn't quite ready for early access just yet, though the point of the technical test is for Supergiant to prepare itself for the actual release. With the technical test not being even the early access release, that of course means most of the content that is ready has been locked off - but, some have datamined the test to find characters and other details that aren't ready to be shared just yet. In fact, as shared to the game's subreddit, one user who had shared some art of some of the new characters was contacted by Supergiant Games asking them to remove their tweets showing it off. "Hey, we wanted to ask if you'd be willing to delete this tweet containing data-mined content from Hades 2," reads a Twitter message from Supergiant Games. "It was our mistake to include content in the build that wasn't meant to be revealed yet, and we know no harm was intended by posting it or anything like that. This is just an example of something we hoped players would discover in the Early Access version." It's obviously an understandable request, as no developer would want details about their hard work getting out before the game even enters early access. Read more View the full article
Dragonsplague annoying you in Dragon's Dogma 2? The game's next patch will make it slightly less frequent, and a bit easier to spot. Dragon's Dogma 2 is very much a game that is doing exactly what it wants to do, even if it is a bit player hostile sometimes. One such bit of design that has caused a number of players some friction is dragonsplague, an illness that pawns can contract that in one part makes them stronger and more effective in combat, but on the other if left to fester those same pawns might go on to ***** entire villages. It's actually quite a cool bit of design, with the ******** spreading amongst pawns from save file to save file thanks to the game's online capabilities, though some have taken to creating mods that make it easier to determine how infected a pawn is. Thankfully, as ***** out in patch notes for an upcoming update, it seems like the ******** won't be quite as infectious as it currently is. As shared on the game's Twitter, the next update will "reduce the infection frequency of dragonsplague" and adjust "infection signs to be more visible." An example of this is that "when infected, glowing eyes will be more noticeable." There's also an option being added that lets you zoom in on the faces of your own player character, as well as pawns, so hopefully that will let you more easily see if they have dragonsplague. As with any live service game, plenty of Helldivers 2 players have differing opinions, but no matter what Arrowhead wants to do just one thing: make the best live service game ever. No one really expected Helldivers 2 to ***** up as much as it has, including developer Arrowhead. That much was evidenced by the myriad of server issues the game suffered from at launch, as well as some other bugs along the way (and I don't mean the ones you're tasked with ********). So, with a whole load of players, comes a whole load of people saying the game should do this or that. A recent post on the Helldivers subreddit from a user by the name of TheGentlemanCEO went into their own problems with the rest of players, talking about how some players wish Arrowhead would focus on bug fixes before adding more Warbonds, saying that Sony would mind if Arrowhead didn't do so (thanks, PCGamer). However, frequent poster and Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt offered some context and clarity to what the situation at the studio is actually like. "I appreciate your sentiment and post," wrote Pilestedt. "Let me add some context. Arrowhead is independently owned by people working at the studio and not swayed by shareholders in the traditional sense. Of course we are in a great partnership with Sony where we agree on targets to hit etc. But there isn't a forcing function or requirement per se. Read more View the full article
It's a sad time for LittleBigPlanet fans, as the third game's servers are now "offline indefinitely" meaning a large portion of the series could be lost forever. Back in January, the servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 went down due to some technical difficulties, though they were meant to come back at some point. Unfortunately, the official LittleBigPlanet Twitter account shared today that the servers are being kept offline "indefinitely," meaning more than a decade's worth of user-made levels are now probably lost forever. "Due to ongoing technical issues which resulted in the LittleBigPlanet 3 servers for PS4 being taken offline temporarily in January 2024, the decision has been made to keep the servers offline indefinitely," reads the statement announcing the servers are being kept offline. "All online services including access to other players' creations for LittleBigPlanet 3 are no longer available. User generated content (UGC) stored locally on your PS4 will remain available. Any new UGC you create can be played on your PS4 but not shared. Offline features such as the campaign will remain playable. Thank you for your support." Read more View the full article
VALORANT players this week are fed up with the game’s map rotations and feel Riot Games is doing more harm than good by cycling through older maps. Some are tired of playing the same maps back to back, while others want casual modes to offer the game’s “inactive” map pool. VALORANT players discussed concerns with the current map pool in an April 20 post on Reddit. The map pool was last tweaked at the start of the first act of Episode Eight on Jan. 9, 2024. You can ****** into any of the seven maps randomly across VALORANT’s game modes but players aren’t given the option to choose the map they wish to play, while maps not in the current pool remain hidden from sight altogether. Pokémon Go’s recent overhaul to player avatars has the community divided on the new look and customization options. The state of the update surprised game testers too, with one revealing that these changes were likely pushed out before they were done and won’t get major updates. In an April 19 anonymous interview with Pokémon Go journalist JRESeawolf, one player who volunteers their time to review, discuss, and occasionally test beta features for Niantic provided a look behind the scenes at how the company has handled the avatar changes from their perspective. This includes a timeline that worryingly puts only a few months of actual testing behind the update many players are calling “visual doomsday” for Pokémon Go and a distinct lack of internal communication about future plans around it. Initial disappointment over Dota 2‘s recent Crownfall update has melted away over the weekend, with most players more than happy with the Cavern Crawl-like event and the smorgasbord of cosmetic items that can be earned without paying a cent. Crownfall dropped on April 19 after what felt like an agonizing wait with multiple teases, but before diving into the new story and event, many players took the update at face value. Without the release of the supposed new hero Ringmaster or a balance patch, fans immediately dismissed Crownfall as a waste. Well, after just two days of exploring the event, many have backtracked from their early observations and are coming to love Crownfall. View the full article

While the Boost Packs in Starfield are no doubt a fun way to expand upon players' traversal skills, one fan took it upon themselves to create an even better version of the feature. Players are able to hone their skills with Starfield's Boost Packs as they level up and add points to the skill but even at its highest level, the oxygen-guzzling equipment only allows users to fly up, making horizontal movement especially difficult and imprecise. Fortunately, those wanting to soar through the air like a Star Wars bounty hunter are in luck thanks to a new mod. View the full article
