  1. Swarm is the latest mode added to League of Legends, a chaotic bullet heaven game that adds a twist to the classic Summoners Rift gameplay. But does the mode have controller support? Despite League being a keyboard and mouse game, players have often attempted to play it on a controller. But Riot Games doesn’t offer controller support for any of its titles, including VALORANT and Wild Rift. There have been workarounds with third-party applications, but with League’s new Vanguard anti-cheat software, you may be on the banned list if they deem you have an unfair advantage. 2. Calling the right plays is vital to success in College Football 25, but sometimes you need to save the clock. One option is to spike the ball, so we’ll tell you how in CFB 25. College Football 25 has plenty of mechanics that mimic the real world of College Football, including spiking the ball. Although spiking may look strange, it definitely has its uses. 3. Warframe developer Digital Extremes' CEO Steve Sinclair has said he thinks studios can be a bit too quick to drop live-service games. Live-service as a field is a particularly tricky one, because if you just don't have the player base to support it, your game can fizzle out pretty quickly. It's happened to plenty of games over the years, and I'm sure it'll happen to plenty more, but in a recent interview with VGC, Digital Extremes' Steve Sinclair has shared that he thinks some studios "eject too soon" from their games. "They think the release is make or break, and it’s not," Sinclair told VGC. "They have a financial way to be persistent, and they never do it. It comes out, doesn’t work and they throw it away. "Isn’t that a shame when you put so many years of your life into iterating on those systems or building technology or building the start of a community, and because the operating costs are high, you get terrified when you see the numbers drop and you leave. We’ve seen this with amazing releases that I think have massive potential, and I think they eject too soon." Read more View the full article
  4. Heihachi Mishima, the mustachioed malevolence of the Tekken series, is going to be the next DLC character for Tekken 8. He was last seen with his loving son Kazuya, who threw him into a volcano. Of course, to be fully submerged in impossibly hot liquid rock is merely a long-running family prank for the cast of this 3D fighting game, sort of like forcing your granddad to do the ice bucket challenge, but with lava. Nobody truly expected the *****-haired headbutter to be fully removed from the series. But I am a little surprised to see him back so soon. Read more View the full article
  5. For anyone who has tipped their toes into Once Human, clicking through dozens of menus to claim rewards has become part of the core experience. But partly due to its ****** mobile game-esque roots and partly to the hubbub following the six-week reset cycle announcement, the atrocious UI design mostly went under the radar—until yesterday. In a Reddit thread that has since become the fifth most upvoted post in the Once Human subreddit in the past week, players came together to express their vexation at the poorly designed menus. “Too many ******** claim menus. Once I unlock something, just give it to me, don’t make me go claim my unlock. Or at least just have one menu for all claims,” the original post read. View the full article
  6. College Football 25 has plenty of mechanics to get used to, including subbing players in and out. We’re here to explain the process and address whether you can sub out your own player in Road to Glory. Tweaking your line-up is vital to success in College Football 25, particularly with the new wear and tear feature, so it’s important to keep a close eye on the fitness of your players and to protect them from injury. 7. Depending on how you look at July 22’s “******” clue for the NYT Mini Crossword, you might be asking some serious questions, but there’s only one question, and I have the answer. The clue we’re looking at today can have multiple meanings, and it’s not vulgar—certainly not for a refined and respected puzzle such as the NYT Mini Crossword. This makes our “******” clue fairly straightforward in the end for this word game. View the full article
  8. The hype train for GTA 6 is already well and truly chugging along at this point. However, if you're hoping it'll offer an experience that's "wildly different" to GTA 5 in terms of being a huge step forward from a technical standpoint, a long-time Rockstar developer reckons you might want to keep your expectations in check a bit. In an interview with YouTube channel SanInPlay, Obbe Vermeij, who served as a techincal director at Rockstar from 1995 to 2009, touched on the topic of expectations for this next entry in the series. He offered some interesting perspective as to why he thinks Rockstar may well have faced a big challenge - at least in comparison to previous titles in the series - when it comes to the idea of making a huge leap forwards with GTA 6. "I don't think it's going to be wildly different to GTA 5," said Vermeij, who worked on GTAs 3 through 4 before leaving the studio in 2009, "I think people might be a little disappointed on the first day, but it's still gonna be the best game out there." 9. The Valby farm at the Vulgus Strategic Outpost in the Fortress became one of the most popular farms in The First Descendant due to a bug, and it’s not going away anytime soon. In a developer notice on July 21, the director of The First Descendant, Minseok Joo, made a surprise announcement saying there are no plans to nerf this farm. “So, we would like to inform you, that we’re preparing a patch without completely blocking The Fortress Outpost issue and to keep allowing the players to enjoy playing like before. However, at the same time, we will update other farming locations to match the efficiency, equivalent to The Fortress Outpost,” the notice read. View the full article

If you suspect the Brawl Stars servers might be down, here’s how you can check yourself. View the full article
  11. College Football 25 is finally here after more than a decade-long wait for the franchise to return. There are plenty of new mechanics to get to grips with, so we’ll tell you how to call for a fair catch. The fair catch mechanic in College Football 25 is available whenever you receive the ball from a kickoff or a punt, but it’s not automatic and must be triggered manually. View the full article
  12. Everyone is still waiting for Hollow Knight: Silksong to release, so one YouTuber took it into their hands to get it made in Minecraft. Yeah, yeah, I know, Silksong out yet and it's frustrating. We're all waiting on it! And it is taking a while, but you know what? I bet you haven't even beaten Shadow of the Erdtree yet, so let's put a pin in Silksong for the time being, shall we? Sorry, you're so desperate to play absolutely anything from Silksong that you think you'll burst into a giant plume of confetti if you don't? Fine, alright, calm down. You're in luck, actually, because as it turns out, you can now play Silksong's fabled 2019 E3 demo… in Minecraft. As spotted by TheGamer, YouTuber Primacon commissioned Minecraft map maker Clouser to recreate the 2019 Silksong E3 demo, which you can check out below. Clouser has experience in putting Hollow Knight in Minecraft, as they actually remade the first three areas of the metroidvania in everyone's favourite game about blocks previously. On this occasion, Clouser has recreated the two areas available to play in the Silksong demo, Deep Docks and Moss Grotto, both of which have boss fights named Lace and Mossmother respectively. Rather than a simple menu letting you choose which area you want to explore, there's a little hub area where you can select which one you want to play. Read more View the full article

  15. Fish! Tea! Time! Space! An ‘immersive horror sim’! Stopping the sun from not burning anymore but also not getting burnt in the process! Locally Sourced Anthology I: A Space Atlas does not, somewhat disappointingly, offer the infinite possible game concepts that space allows for. It’s got eight though, which I must say is a good start. Eight experimental indies from different developers, each equally taking part in space as the last. Read more View the full article
  16. The passing game is critical in College Football 25, and mastering the different pass types is vital, so we’re here to tell you how to throw bullet passes. 17. The Energy Link is one of the most critical resources in Once Human, and you’ll run out of it pretty quickly if you don’t work toward keeping your stocks high. Energy Link in Once Human helps you teleport to towns and teleportation towers anywhere on the map once you’ve unlocked them, thus saving you a ton of fuel for your motorcycle and, more importantly, your precious time. You also need Energy Link to get newer technologies in the Memetic tree, and as you unlock higher-level nodes, the Energy Link requirement rises, so your stock takes a major hit. So, what’s the best way to Farm Energy Links so you never run out? View the full article
  18. A group of The First Descendant players discovered an incredible exploit/oversight. Basically, the more FPS you have on your display, the more damage you do. This essentially means you need to buy a better TV or Monitor to take advantage of this method. On July 18, content creator Ryechews Games posted a video explaining how to perform the exploit. At first, Ryechews and a few people on his Discord channel thought this was a glitch with one of the game’s weapons, but it turns out it was tied to the number of frames The First Descendant generates in a second. 19. Late last week, 241 developers from Fallout, Starfield, and The Elder Scrolls developers Bethesda Game Studios announced a "wall-to-wall" union under the Communication Workers of America (CWA). 21. Asus' third variation of its Ally handheld, the ROG Ally X, is finally here, and our testing shows it's a genuinely impressive, and powerful, portable gaming PC despite not actually improving upon the AMD Z1 Extreme APU from the original. Instead, upgrades are made to the RAM, the battery capacity, and the overall design and efficiency of the cooling system. The Asus ROG Ally X is easily one of the best handheld gaming PCs, replacing the Ally Z1 Extreme as the strongest alternative to the Steam Deck OLED. That being said, the Windows operating system is still a huge weakness for the portable, and it throws up challenges that left me frustrated with the unrealized potential of this otherwise very impressive hardware.
