  5. Riven - an exciting new (ish) first-person puzzle game from the creators of Myst - has just got a brand-new gameplay trailer ahead of its launch later this month. It features plenty of bizarre contraptions, walking, and beautiful vistas that some of the smarter gamers out there are sure to eat right up. You can check out the trailer yourself above! If Riven sounds a tad familiar to you, that's because we've actually already seen it released decades ago! Back in 2022, the developers at Cyan Worlds announced as part of the game's 25th anniversary that a remake was in the works. It's this remake - an immense glow-up for one of PC gaming's more beloved puzzle games - that we're all going to be able to play on June 25. As for what you can expect aside from a graphical overhaul? Well, the game will have total VR support, allowing those of you out there to put yourself in the shoes of Riven's perpetually perplexed protagonist. 6. The ModRetro Chromatic | Image: ModRetro Before he brought VR headsets out of the dark ages with Oculus, before he founded defense contractor Anduril, Palmer Luckey was a Nintendo Game Boy modder. 8. When it comes to digging around for secrets, there's no community quite as dedicated as Stardew Valley, leading to rampant confusion when the discovery is in question is more than a little odd. Given the sprawling nature of the farming RPG, there are hundreds of unique items that can be unearthed by simply digging up the various worms that end up breaking the soil around Pelican Town. While the loot from these drops is generally neglible, sometimes they result in an item that's so rare, players question its very existence. View the full article

  10. The Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration with Secretlab is now available for pre-order starting at $624 as a special edition of the TITAN Evo gaming chair, shipping June 20. It was created to celebrate both the 10th anniversary of A Realm Reborn and the upcoming Dawntrail expansion. Unfortunately for players, these special chairs don’t come with any FFXIV in-game rewards like the recent Mountain Dew event, so they’re more of a real-life collector’s item rather than something you can buy for exclusive in-game items. Still, they look fantastic with three magnetic role patches you can swap in and out of the chair and an embroidered version of the Crystal Tower on its back. View the full article

  12. Combat in Wuthering Waves is fast-paced, and it’s hard to keep track of your damage numbers. Fortunately, there’s a way around that. Let me show you where to find the Sparring Partner in Wuthering Waves. How to practice combat and find Hua Leilang in Wuthering WavesI used to use Simulation Training for practice, but it’s not great. You’re limited to the same group of enemies, and it’s not a decent environment to practice damage rotations. You can get shot in the back when practicing with new Resonators, and it’s not up to the task.Screenshot: PC InvasionIf you want to experiment, the best place to do so is against the Sparring Partner. You can find Hua Leilang just west of Loong’s Gaze Suburbs, and I’ve marked his location with a star in the image above. 15. Honestly, I turn my back on shooter-of-note Helldivers 2 for (checks calendar)... one, maybe two weeks, and you all go and transform a planet into a ****** *****. "You" being the players who completed the metagame's last Major Order and successfully pumped the Terminid supercolony of Meridia full of an experimental "Dark Fluid" - which Super-Earth, incidentally, pinched from the Illuminate faction during the First Galactic War, aka Helldivers 1. Now, Meridia has imploded and become a radiant, wailing, purple-fringed disc of pure nothingness, with triumphant players rudely ejected from orbit via emergency hyperspace jump, but subsequently allowed to return and gaze into the dark heart of their victory. Great work, Inferno-plungers. I'm sure the consequences of this will be neither cosmic nor horrible. Read more View the full article

  17. Dragon's Dogma 2 could be making an important announcement during Summer Game Fest 2024, as it featured prominently in the event trailer posted by Geoff Keighley on Twitter. While Dragon's Dogma 2 is one of the highlights of 2024, especially for fans of the original, Capcom's latest release hasn't been without its flaws. The combat in Dragon's Dogma 2 received plenty of praise at launch, but the story and ****** variety felt like a step back from the first game. View the full article

  23. The usual marathon of pre-expansion error codes and server issues has officially begun. Destiny 2’s servers went offline today ahead of The Final Shape, leaving no room for any last-minute activities before the expansion kicks off at reset tomorrow. Server maintenance windows are a staple ahead of almost any Destiny 2 update, with the servers often being taken down a couple of hours before any hotfix. With seasons and expansions, however, that maintenance window is far longer than just a few hours—and The Final Shape in particular will keep the servers offline for 25 hours, as confirmed by Bungie. 24. The onslaught of fun Steam Next Fest demos you can play right now continues and will not relent. Card Bard is a deckbuilding roguelike shooter in which your wee gunman is seemingly frozen in abject ******* as little pill-shaped baddies creep towards him like bacteria on a petri dish. For example, those who prefer Guitar Hero-like games will certainly have fun playing Fortnite Festival, and gamers who prefer the Survival genre and cozy games will most likely stick to LEGO Fortnite. While many fans play various of the modes Fortnite has to offer, others will only consistently play one mode. View the full article
