  2. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will keep fans from trick or treating because its release date takes place on Halloween: October 31, 2024. Wario64 found a short clip a few hours before, revealing the date early. View the full article

  4. Kicking off the new Monopoly GO Partner event is the 50-milestone Rocket to Success two-day event, featuring Partner tokens, flash events, Dice rolls, and Sticker packs. The Monopoly GO Rocket to Success event runs from Aug. 15 to 17, and you can use Pickup tokens to earn milestone points. Pickups are one of my favorite objectives for an event. Tokens are randomly placed around the Monopoly GO board. Landing on one earns you milestone points that are applied to rewards like Partner tokens. View the full article
  5. Burnice is a member of the Sons of Calydon faction, and she’s an upcoming agent in Zenless Zone Zero set to release in version 1.2. 6. Universal's Dark Universe, to be based on all if its classic monster properties, was a massive misfire after 2017's dreadful reboot of The Mummy (which even Tom Cruise's antics couldn't save) fell short of franchise-building expectations and got panned by critics and audiences alike. That didn't stop Universal from trying again with a simpler, director-driven approach to reviving old horror properties, and the Creature from the ****** Lagoon is next in line to be modernised. We're still waiting to see how the upcoming Wolf Man reboot pans out, but 2020's pre-Covid Invisible Man reboot was a compelling and meaningful update of the original horror concept, so there's some juice to this renewed strategy of standalone horror flicks which simply let each filmmaker reimagine monsters we've known for decades. 1954's Creature from the ****** Lagoon continues to be one of those traditional monster movies that pop up every now and then in remake conversations, and now Deadline is reporting that horror veteran James Wan, who's also tackled huge blockbusters like Furious 7 and the two Aquaman movies, might be the filmmaker diving head first into those dark waters. 7. We cover a lot of strategy games at PCGamesN - between Cities Skylines 2, the upcoming Frostpunk 2, updates to Stellaris, Manor Lords, and dozens more, it's been a busy 18 months. And then, despite all this competition and would-be new blood, Firaxis confirms Civilization 7 and reminds everyone that it's still, after 33 years, top of the genre food chain. Civ 6 is excellent; the sequel should be even better. But while we wait for launch, Firaxis just made its upcoming 4X opus sound even more promising by confirming that one aggravating feature will be cut entirely. Read the rest of the story... 8. It's no secret that I have a long, winding history with the Dragon Age franchise. I cite Origins as one of the few games that really did change the course of my life, and Inquisition as my first real taste of what a sprawling, MMO-style RPG could be. Since Summer Game Fest and Veilguard's official reveal, I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for more news about its launch. Following Bioware's announcement that the official date would be revealed during a showcase on Thursday August 15, the Dragon Age: The Veilguard launch date has leaked - and it's soon. 10. Act Three of Baldur’s Gate 3 has the most places of interest by far, with many related to your party members’ personal stories. This is the case for the House of Grief, as the building is essential to completing Shadowheart’s storyline. Up to this point, you’ve likely accompanied Shadowheart on her journey to become a Dark Justiciar in Baldur’s Gate 3, but once in Act Three, Shadowheart has taken an interest in finding her lost parents. To do this, you must find the House of Grief. View the full article

  14. Over 2000 hours spent in various factory games makes me a bit of a purist, I suppose. In theory, I should then be the ideal reviewer to enjoy Shapez 2. But I'm also the ideal reviewer to tear it apart over the most minor hiccups and defects. I'm the Anton Ego of factory games. I don't like food, I love it. If I don't love it, I don't ********. Ah, you needn't worry. This is by far the most fun I've had reviewing a game, and Shapez 2 has, in my mind at least, turned the holy trinity of factory games (Factorio, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program) into a holy quartet. Its pared back, everything-is-free-forever approach is quite liberating, and I've never had so much fun placing conveyor belts in my life. But 40 hours into my save file, I've often found myself yearning for a bit more creativity in the challenges, a few more curveballs sent in my direction. 16. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is launching on October 31, 2024, for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. For better or worse, the latest Dragon Age title represents the culmination of a troubled era for BioWare. Dragon Age: The Veilguard walks in the shadow of a controversial legacy left behind by Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, which may redeem BioWare's image and release a long-awaited sequel to 2014's Game of the Year. 17. Most of the work you do in Fields of Mistria will go towards increasing your Town Rank, and upping this rank quickly will open up the game so you can play however you please. Unsurprisingly, this cute farming sim is doing numbers on Steam, and that's partly thanks to its rewarding Town Rank and Renown system. In order to increase your Town Rank, you'll need to complete activities that award Renown; after every 10 Renown, your Town Rank will go up by one. View the full article
  18. 100 Thieves had a disappointing end to what was to be a promising season for the organization, but 100T wasted no time preparing for the next stage of their VALORANT journey by locking down an important piece to the puzzle. In an Aug. 14 post on X, 100 Thieves officially announced Anthony “Zikz” Gray has signed a contract extension with the VALORANT team, keeping him with the organization as the head coach until 2027. 19. Deadpool & Wolverine might have been a huge hit for Marvel Studios, but it's fair to say the Marvel Cinematic Universe needs to wow us consistently a few more times before we can claim we're in the 'Good Zone' again. All eyes are now set on 2025's releases, and those include Daredevil: Born Again, which is coming to Disney Plus and seemingly has been in the works for longer than we thought. During the last D23 event, Daredevil: Born Again stars Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock aka Daredevil) Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin) chatted with People and unveiled some of what happened behind the scenes as the original Netflix series was cancelled and nothing happened for a few years despite an unexpected call from Marvel honcho Kevin Feige in 2020. "It wasn't until midway through 2020 that we got a phone call from [President of Marvel Studios] Kevin [Feige] saying that they were interested in bringing the characters back...not even in the show at that point, just bringing the characters into MCU," Cox explained. Remember that Marvel Studios was still figuring out how the post-Endgame MCU would look like past phase four at that point, so it makes sense that maybe the initial plan was to bring their characters into an entirely different project, such as a Spider-Man movie. 20. It’s an oddly Halloweeny summer week for games, this one. Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s October 31st release date leaked earlier, Steam have put together a Summer Fright Night bundle featuring RPS fave Hauntii, and I’ve got a strange urge to gorge on Haribo and mini Double Deckers until blood comes out of my eyeballs. What a perfect time, then, to ***** into the alpha demo for vampire management game Blood Bar Tycoon, especially since Two Point seem to be resting on their laurels a bit too comfortably for my liking. The idea here is you build a swanky bar serving claret cosmopolitans, ichor-ish coffees and uh, viscera vampiros to your undead clientele. But (with the sorta exception of the crimson-sapped Dracaena cinnabari) blood doesn’t grow on trees, so you’ll also be moonlighting as a human-nabber. You’ll research a slew of “whacky contraptions” to extract their blood, which I greatly enjoy, because “zany exsanguination” is a real winner of a feature. You can’t frivolously phlebotomise with impunity, however - you’ll also want to be on the lookout for vampire hunters aka the fun police. Read more View the full article

  22. Delta Force: Hawk Ops is going through its first alpha test, and as players get to know this shooter, more concerns about possible pay-to-win features arise. Even though other shooters might gladly sell you in-game currency, a developer from Team ***** promises Hawk Ops will do no such thing. In an AMA Reddit thread on Aug. 13, Delta Force: Hawk Ops game director Shadow Guo reassured us the game will never be pay-to-win. “As a dedicated FPS gamer myself, I made sure our team placed great importance on the global player experience and community. The primary content we offer for our players to purchase includes ******* skins, character cosmetics, and battle passes,” Guo wrote. View the full article
  23. Team FOLON, Fallout: London’s creators, have long been open about their ******* for people to create mods that put fresh twists on or add stuff to their massive mod, and they’ve now done a bit of leading by example in that regard, with a mod that injects some chaos into your playthrough via Baldur's Gate 3-esque dice rolls. After all, it’s not like British culture and the established dangers of the post-apocalypse are already enough to keep you on your toes as you explore the mod’s massive wasteland. The mod in question is the brainchild of Jordan ‘SunnyDelight’ Albon, Team FOLON’s lead 3D artist. They’re clearly a bit of a TTRPG fan, since their creation - dubbed ‘NAT20’ adds a massive twenty-sided dice to your character’s inventory that they can take out and activate to roll for random outcomes. 24. Put your mortar and pestle down, my herb-smooshing friend. The peasant-quelling RPG antics of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 won't be releasing this year after all, say developers Warhorse in a video message to fans. "We aimed for the end of the year, and almost made it," said PR man Tobi Stolz-Zwilling. "Almost is not good enough though, so unfortunately we slipped to 2025." Never mind, it's easy to slip in the medieval era. There was mud everywhere. Read more View the full article
