  2. As a Scottish person, I'm relatively accustomed to seeing oil rigs. They're dotted across the north of Scotland, looming eerily in the distance, often drenched in sea mist and framed by gray skies. Most recently, we saw Still Wakes the Deep transform one of our rigs into a twisted, nightmare-infested hellhole, and Dredge is looking to follow in its footsteps. The fishing game's latest DLC, The Iron Rig, drops today, and I'm far too excited about it. Read the rest of the story... 5. The Plucky Squire launches September 17, 2024 and straight onto the PlayStation Plus Premium Games Catalog. Developer All Possible Futures announced the release date while PlayStation revealed on X/Twitter it would be adding the game to its premium subscription service at launch. It is the first game confirmed for the September 2024 line up, just one day after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Wild Hearts, Cult of the Lamb, and more were locked in for August. It will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC on the announced September 17 date. "The Plucky Squire follows the magical adventures of Jot and his companions, storybook characters who discover a three-dimensional world outside the pages of their book," reads the official synopsis. "They must jump between 2D and 3D realms to save their friends in this charming action-adventure." The 2D portions are top-down, hand-drawn gameplay sections filled with mini games, while the 3D sections offer a huge world set inside a child's bedroom to explore. Fans have been waiting more than two years for The Plucky Squire, as it was announced during a Devolver Digital showcase in June 2022. All Possible Futures has revealed tidbits of information since then, but always stopped short of an actual release date until now. Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. He'll talk about The Witcher all day. View the full article

  13. Mortal Kombat 1 creative director and franchise co-creator Ed Boon is teasing fans on social media once again, this time about possible Kameo fighters that could be added in the new Khaos Reigns expansion. 17. Earlier this week there was some minor Discourse about the removal of the Erotica photography tag from the ***** Rising remaster. Some readers characterised this as a familiar species of cultural hypocrisy regarding video games - emphasising ********* is A-OK, but for the love of ****, don't mention ****. 18. I'm very prepared to brush the likes of Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and The Finals aside for the time being once the Splitgate 2 alpha kicks off. The preceding offering from 1047 Games, described by many as 'Halo with Portals,' completely won my adoration. 19. Far too often, blockbusters fall flat because they've been over-tweaked or straight-up reassembled in post-production. While reshoots had always been a common part of the filmmaking process, they've now sort of become this 'crutch' for productions that hadn't figured out a concrete plan before heading into principal photography. More specifically, many comic book movies have been affected by this approach, yet James Gunn's efforts, both for Marvel and DC, haven't been hurt by it. According to the writer-director, on Threads (via Variety), behind three Guardians of the Galaxy movies, one miniseries (I Am Groot), one holiday special, a ******** Squad 'requel' of sorts, and a spinoff series (Peacemaker), the secret is to simply... make sure that as much as possible is up to snuff before *********. Sounds simple, right? Well, it seems like not everyone can or wants to figure that out. The filmmaker, who's now busy with post-production on both Peacemaker season two and his Superman reboot for the new on-screen DC continuity he's shepherding, simply stated he'd "done a total of one day of reshoots on my past two films combined." Considering Superman is still in the early post-production part of the process, we think he's just referring to the Guardians of the Galaxy threequel and The ******** Squad, the movie that earned him (alongside Peacemaker) the role of head of DC Studios. 20. The team behind Skyblivion, the massive modding project that’s remaking The Elder Scrolls IV - yep, the one where everyone’s faces look a bit hilarious - in Skyrim’s engine, has just shared some fresh quest gameplay. There’s a bit of Mages Guild, a bit of a scuffle on a farm, and all of it looks pretty great, aside from the odd bug. Right off the bat in this latest showcase, the Skyblivion devs provided an update on how development is progressing, with the video’s narrator revealing that things are still on track for the 2025 release date the group has previously set. So, what’ve we gotten a look at this time around? Well, two classic Oblivion quests, in the form of Fingers of the Mountain and The ******** Field, with the latter looking to have been renamed to ******** Fields. Read more View the full article
