  1. In true George R.R. Martin fashion, the lore of Elden Ring can be impenetrable even on a good day. The backstory of the Lands Between is left for players to find on their own, including one particular wedding that carried massive implications for the realm and those in it. Rennala and Radagon are two of the biggest figures in Elden Ring lore, despite the less attentive gamer probably only knowing them as the stat respec lady and the frustratingly tough final boss respectively. While it’s tough to attach even the vaguest of timeframes to anything that happens in Elden Ring‘s lore, the doomed pair’s marriage and subsequent messy divorce set the stage for a good chunk of what you experience in the game proper, and the place where it all happened still has more than a few secrets to discover. 2. Starfield offers many options for companions to wander with the player among the stars. Most of the fleshed out characters are members of Constellation, but there are some who are unaffiliated. Most of these NPCs are nothing but helpful, but there is one who acts as an intentional annoyance, and they end up a huge liability. View the full article
  3. Developers at Blizzard continue to improve Diablo 4 little by little with each new season of content, continually showing that they are listening to the player feedback and making large changes. There are still many things that should be added to or corrected about the game, however, in order to satisfy much of the audience. With Diablo 4's expansion, Vessel of Hatred, looming on the horizon for release this October, it brings into question whether Diablo 4 can justify asking players to spend more money on the DLC while the base game ******** a bit shaky in its reception within the community. 6. For Pokémon Go Fest 2024’s second, a final Special Research goes out to all ticketholders called The Dusk Settles. With it, they have several tasks and rewards, namely for the opportunity to earn Solar Fusion Energy or Lunar Fusion Energy. The Fusion Energy resources are the main ingredient to complete your fusion of Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necromza. There are a handful of other items you also need to complete these transformations in Pokémon Go, but Fusion Energy is likely the most difficult resource to find. You want to make sure to log into Pokémon Go during the second day of Pokémon Go Fest 2024 to make sure to grab this research. View the full article
  7. For Pokémon Go Fest 2024’s final day, the last Special Research ticket is available to ticketholders for The Dusk Settles. It gives them a direct path to unlock the latest Legendary Pokémon, Necromza, and two paths: Basking in the Radiance or Hidden in the Umbra. Your choice between Basking in the Radiance and Hidden in the Umbra is important for The Dusk Settles Special Research ticket. The choice provides you with a direct path to unlocking Dusk Mane Necromza or Dawn Wings Necromza. Based on your choice, you can still unlock the other Legendary Pokémon, but it will prove to be much more difficult and time-consuming in Pokémon Go. View the full article
  8. A brand-new Skyrim mod has been released, adding a detailed creature compendium that gives players important information about the monsters they face. While many RPGs have this kind of creature compendium, this was an area in which Skyrim was lacking until now. View the full article
  9. In Elden Ring, the Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion has brought a massive amount of new content into the game, a lot of which is hidden from the player unless they go out of their way to explore. To find as many items and rewards as possible, the player must venture off the beaten path to find them. One of the first notable examples of this is the locked doors in the first Legacy Dungeon, Belurat, Tower Settlement. View the full article
  10. Agent Trust is a significant mechanic in Zenless Zone Zero, but considering just how many moving parts are in play, it can be a bit difficult to immediately grasp the system. As the newest gacha game from Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail developer HoYoverse, Zenless Zone Zero remixes a lot of ideas from its predecessors and adds its fair share of new concepts. Agent Trust has some similarities to the Friendship system in Genshin Impact, but it's ultimately much more important as a core part of Zenless Zone Zero's progression and gameplay loop. 11. The Firaxis formula has been copied but never bettered. It's the little things, like the way the camera swoops in when you're aiming or as the last squaddie hustles into cover at the end of a turn. I feel more connected to my guys if the sensation of being an invisible hovering giant playing toy soldiers gets broken every now and then and I get to see a close-up of the action... 12. Taking too long to complete one Cyberpunk 2077 mission could lead to the permanent loss of a recurring character. For all its open-world interactivity, Cyberpunk doesn't actually have many timed quests or world events. For the most part, players can complete all its main and side jobs in whatever order they wish. But it is possible to lock oneself out of certain content, either by doing certain quests in the wrong order, or by making the wrong Cyberpunk story choices at important moments. 15. A Starfield player online has noticed a strange detail about the game's New Atlantis, pointing out something that doesn't quite seem right after over 700 hours of playtime. 16. Every so often in Pokémon Go, there are Special Research tasks where you must select from multiple paths to earn different rewards. The Dawn of a New Discovery has three choices to pick from to earn multiple rewards: the Emolga, Crabrawler, or the Ducklett branching path. The choice is entirely up to you, and you must make it after completing the first series of tasks for this Special Research. The choice does matter, as it provides a selection of specific tasks for you to fulfill, with slightly different rewards. However, like many of the smaller Special Research tasks in Pokémon Go, the changes are moderate and don’t largely impact your overall gameplay during Pokémon Go Fest 2024. View the full article
  17. Following the release of the entire Kingdom Hearts series on Steam, Square Enix released a video explaining some potential play orders gamers could use to understand its story. Earlier in June, the entire Kingdom Hearts series was brought onto the Steam platform for the very first time, giving gamers a chance to play through Square Enix's legendary series on PC. While the Kingdom Hearts franchise was previously released on PC through the Epic Games Store, the decision to make it an exclusive to the platform was met with a mixed reception. Now, fans can play Kingdom Hearts on the PC platform of their choice. View the full article

Announced back in 2021 and initially due to arrive alongside a gamer-focused streaming service called Binge in 2022, the live action series has been scrapped along with the production company behind it. Perhaps of greater significance is that the Driver series itself might not be *****, as a Ubisoft spokesperson said that they are "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise". 22. League of Legends clearly isn't done with Skarner as Riot developer and popular public figure Phreak confirms more changes are coming for the champion in the near future. Throughout the lifespan of the globally popular MOBA from Riot Games, Skarner has notoriously been one of its hardest characters to balance properly. Skarner has been the subject of multiple reworks from Riot, often making massive sweeping changes to his gameplay that have been largely "hit or miss." Now, the new rework has reportedly not hit the mark set by Riot Games. View the full article
  23. There are so many indie throwbacks to old Nintendo consoles these days, it takes a lot of juice for one to really catch my eye, but Game Boy Advance-style RPG Tako no Himitsu: Ocean of Secrets (previously reported on by Rock Paper Shotgun) looks like it has the right stuff. Tako no Himitsu (literally "Secret of the Octopus") has particularly gorgeous art, as well as soundtrack contributions from GBA and SNES vets Motoi Sakuraba (Golden Sun, Dark Souls) and Masanori Hikichi (Terranigma, Danganropa 2)... As with any Legendary Pokémon, there are only a handful of attacks you can teach it, and there is a best moveset you want to give Dawn Wings Necrozma. The investment you need to make to create Dawn Wings Necrozma is relatively large. Not only do you need to have two Legendary Pokémon Lunala and Necrozma, but you also need to have enough leftover Candy from both of them plus Lunar Fusion Energy. View the full article
