  1. If there's one thing Disney Dreamlight Valley knows how to do well, it's an expansion. Between A Rift in Time and The Storybook Vale, the worlds brought to life outside of your standard valley have been undeniably enchanting. But after spending time exploring Wishblossom Ranch and meeting its inhabitants, there's an absolutely unfathomable amount of childlike joy tucked in its story which I haven't experienced since I was first welcomed to Dreamlight Valley... 2. On Monday, veteran game developer Rebecca Ann Heineman died in Rockwall, Texas, at age 62 after a battle with adenocarcinoma. Apogee founder Scott Miller first shared the news publicly on social media, and her son William confirmed her death with Ars Technica. Heineman’s GoFundMe page, which displayed a final message she had {LINK REMOVED}posted about entering palliative care, will now help her family with ******** costs. Rebecca “Burger Becky” Heineman was born in October 1963 and grew up in Whittier, California. She first gained national recognition in 1980 when she won the national Atari 2600 Space Invaders championship in New York at age 16, becoming the first formally recognized US video game champion. That victory launched a career spanning more than four decades and 67 credited games, according to MobyGames. Among many achievements in her life, Heineman was perhaps best known for co-founding Interplay Productions with Brian Fargo, Jay Patel, and Troy Worrell in 1983. The company created franchises like Wasteland, Fallout, and Baldur’s Gate. At Interplay, Heineman designed The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate and Dragon Wars while also programming ports of classics like Wolfenstein 3D and Battle Chess. 3. After years of remasters of old Ark expansions, it's time for something truly new. Sure, they're classics that Ark fans loved from the Survival Evolved days, but Ark Survival Ascended has been crying out for some proper originality - especially given that Ark 2 still feels like a long way off. However, Lost Colony will finally provide the goods. A star-studded, all-new expansion that tees up the narrative stakes for Ark 2, Lost Colony was initially meant to launch in November before being nudged into December. Now, Studio Wildcard has confirmed the exact date it'll arrive, and has also unleashed its final portion of drip-fed teaser content into Ark Survival Ascended. Read the rest of the story... 5. Megabonkis easily one of the most addictive and impressive solo-developed indie projects of 2025, but the game's developer vedinad is an infamously enigmatic figure whose true identity remains unknown. In a recent controversial decision, vedinad withdrew Megabonk's nomination from The Game Awards for Best Debut Indie Game on the grounds that he had in fact created other games before and therefore would not qualify as a "debut." 7. I get the hype around Steam Frame, and out of all the hardware Valve showcased recently, it's actually the only piece of tech on my Steam wishlist. However, I love the Quest 3, which remains one of the best VR headsets due to a great price point, decent hardware, and a fantastic number of exclusive games. If you're looking for a cheap way to get into virtual reality, the Meta Quest 3S delivers a budget-friendly version, and it's up to $70 off in this early ****** Friday bargain. The Meta Quest 3S may have slightly worse lenses than Meta's premium VR option, as well as a slightly lower resolution per eye, but still packs in the great performance and features of Quest 3, just toned down for a cheaper price point. It has the same excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor, which delivers brilliant performance in both standalone VR games and mixed reality experiences, and it also has color passthrough, like the more expensive variant. 8. Guild Wars released in 2005 and, even in the wake of the all-conquering World of Warcraft, offered an MMO experience that was distinct and freeform enough that, 20 years later, you'll still find people saying it's the best MMO around. OK, these days they're probably more likely to be on-board with the superb sequel, but still... Read more.View the full article

  10. A newly discovered Borderlands 4 glitch can completely break meta builds rather easily, but Gearbox is already aware of it and is working on a fix. It's uncertain what the timeline on that fix is, but Borderlands 4 fans will want to be mindful of the typical Thursday patch notes while using the glitch. View the full article

  15. Levelling your horse in Disney Dreamlight Valley's Wishblossom Ranch DLC is essential when it comes to progressing through the story, but that doesn't mean it's easy. Much like levelling your friendship with the villagers, you can do this by giving up to three gifts per day, spending quality time with them, or brushing and petting them. Even then, you'll only get an XP boost once a day from these actions, and waiting until the next day when you want to head to the next area can feel like waiting a lifetime... 16. I woke up this morning to the sound of Bobby Darin's 'Beyond the Sea,' stepped out into my garden, my shark mug full of coffee, and breathed in the crisp air of my coastal town. It's a beautiful day to go sailing. While I spent a good chunk of my working life on museum ships, I never actually learned my sheet bend from my clove hitch. Thankfully, I don't need to read up on the English Channel conditions, or even venture out of my house to take to the high seas, as today Old School Runescape finally launched its new Sailing skill.
