  1. In a recent interview with the devs behind the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, the game's director expressed some bold feelings about the third and final part. Final Fantasy 7 Remake and its follow-up Rebirth have been some of the most anticipated games for fans of the original game for many years, and all this time later we're getting closer and closer to the final part. Square Enix recently shared a two hour long behind the scenes look at Rebirth, which featured producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Hamaguchi, and both devs hyped up the last game to potentially an unobtainable standard. "When I think about the third and final game in the Remake trilogy, it really does fill me with excitement, and I have such great expectations toward it as well," Kitase said. "I really hope the fans can have great expectations toward this game, and we will meet those expectations. We will definitely expand on and make the world of Final Fantasy 7 even ******* than it is now." The producer went on to say that feedback gained from the first two titles will be "reflected in the third game" and said that it will be "exactly what fans are looking for." That's quite the bold claim to make, but even if the game might be out sooner than you'd think, it's still likely a few years away. Read more View the full article

  7. Baldur's Gate 3 is a big game that's received plenty of free content post release, and yet the developer's CEO was worried it would be too short. Anyone that's played Baldur's Gate 3 can quickly tell you that it is a beefy game. I constantly see posts go viral of some obscure scene with players that have put hundreds of hours into the game saying they've never seen that in all their playtime. And a year on from its full release, Larian Studios continues to add to it, even if they aren't always massive additions of content. Yet as big as the game was when it launched without all of these updates, prior to its release, Larian CEO and game director Swen Vincke was worried that the game would end up being too short. Speaking in a recent video interview with BAFTA, Vincke explained that there were plans to make the game even ******* than it already is, but it had to be cut down. "This is a really random tidbit, but Moonrise Towers used to be two towers. And now, we shipped with only one tower," Vincke explained. "And for a long time, there was actually the ruins of the second tower, and then we removed that also. So there was only one tower, but originally we planned on having two towers. The reason we removed the extra tower was purely productionally. It was just, the game was getting too big and so we had to cut that out." Read more View the full article

  14. Epic Games has been giving away free games every week for years now, which has apparently been going well - but the store's exclusives haven't done so well. Valve doesn't exactly run a monopoly when it comes to buying digital games, but for the most part everyone knows that Steam is the defacto place to buy your PC games. Storefronts like GOG and *****.io have their own niches, but Steam is still the place to be for most PC games, even if it is quite flawed. Then, in 2018, Epic Games decided it wanted a piece of the pie and opened up its own store, and it didn't do so without controversy, as many PC gamers were not a fan of it right off the bat. Six years on, the store is still around, but even still many don't like it. Of course, Epic has tried a couple of tactics to encourage players to use its platform, like weekly free games, which it has given out every week since 2018, with certain seasons even offering daily free games. But in a recent press call (via PC Gamer), despite how costly that might be, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney shared that it's been a "very economical" user acquisition program. On top of this, you can't catch them until you're Fishing rank 30, so you'll have plenty of practice by the time you find them. View the full article

  20. Cyberpunk 2077 is a very quotable game, thanks to its cast of well-written characters, such as V, Panam, Judy, and Johnny Silverhand. By far, the character with the best lines is Johnny, as he manages to balance crass humor and genuinely heartfelt moments, creating some of the most memorable lines in Cyberpunk 2077. Johnny's dialogue would be nothing without the fantastic line delivery by Keanu Reeves, who flawlessly brings out the character's humanity and deep-rooted anger. View the full article

  22. It turns out some Helldivers 2 players cheated in order to help complete the latest Major Order, and as a result their, uh, **** fish have been *******. Helldivers 2 isn't exactly the hardest game in the world, but it's not like there isn't a good challenge to it either. Even still, as with any online game, there are some that just want to circumvent that challenge altogether, and as shared on the Helldivers 2 subreddit, an in-game message from Arrowhead notes that there were some cheaters, albeit this was delivered in-world as always. "Super Earth High Command has detected a large batch of counterfeit samples within the delivery of the last Major Order," reads the message. "As is customary, Medals have been awarded to all Helldivers who honorably performed their duties, and the ones submitting false samples have had their **** fish summarily *********. Laboratories all across Super Earth space are attempting to filter out the false samples, but the expected scientific advances to combat the spread of the gloom have decreased significantly. As a result of this, worlds near the gloom have begun resettlement protocols." Read more View the full article

Set in a slightly fantastical version of the ********* frontier inspired heavily by Mesoamerican and South ********* history, this new indie RPG tells a classical tale of revenge and bloodshed.
