Marvel’s Wolverine on PS5 has a new leadership arrangement, according to a new report by Game File. Game File’s sources indicate that creative director Brian Horton has not been part of the project since mid-year, and that Wolverine’s game director Cameron ********** has since taken on a different role at Insomniac. Wolverine’s new creative director is reportedly Marcus Smith, and its new game director is Mike Daly. Smith previously served as one of three creative directors on 2021’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Daly as one of its three game directors. For his part, Horton has since jumped the first-party fence to Xbox as the new creative director for Perfect Dark, which is being co-developed by The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics. Horton previously served as a game director on 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider at Crystal Dynamics, before a brief stint at Infinity Ward and subsequently joining Insomniac. There's been little official word on Marvel's Wolverine since its 2021 announcement, although cyber thieves leaked a variety of details on the project in December 2023. It was only a matter of time before Activision and Microsoft began letting off some fireworks celebrating yet another colossal Call of Duty launch. Most new CoDs are often lavished with a selection of very positive and carefully-curated engagement and sales stats that always manage to show that the series is on the up. The world has forever been crying out for a successor to Left 4 *****. There have been a few attempts to try and recapture that magic, such as Redfall, Vermintide 2, or World War Z, but nothing really hits that spot like Left 4 ***** did. The nearest anyone has come is underrated shooter Back 4 Blood, created by the developer behind the original co-op FPS zombie experience. We've seen some huge survival game success stories this year - even some that were released with a healthy amount of jank and performance issues like Palworld. It wasn’t a secret that Microsoft expected more from its struggling Game Pass numbers, and a lot seemed to be riding on ****** Ops 6‘s reception as a day one Game Pass offering. After a huge weekend for the new title, its seems like that bet is paying off. After launching to much fanfare on Oct. 25, the latest Call of Duty offering appears to have struck the right chord with modern CoD players and old-timers alike ([Hidden Content]). And in a Microsoft earnings call going over the first quarter of their 2025 fiscal year (which ended on Sept. 30), CEO Satya Nadella also previews the early findings on Q2, highlighted by ****** Ops 6. Nadella labeled BO6 “the biggest Call of Duty release ever,” and claimed the new release set records for first-day players and Game Pass subscription additions on launch day.
