  1. There are plenty of board games with an optional solo mode tacked on, but very few are designed with single players in mind. That makes a quality solo title like gold dust to the lone gamer. If, like me, you enjoy a private board game session, you shouldn't sleep on the Final Girl series - especially since the core boxes are 24% off at Amazon US. Read the rest of the story... 2. Fans of The Witcher hoping to see a trailer for the fourth game at The Game Awards this year may want to temper their expectations. CD Projekt co-CEO Michał Nowakowski posted a message on X on Wednesday expressing gratitude that The Witcher 4 had been nominated in the Most Anticipated Game category, but warned that neither it or any other CD Projekt game would otherwise be making an appearance during the show. “I’m very happy to see The Witcher 4 nominated in the Most Anticipated Game category at The Game Awards,” he wrote. “Thanks to everyone who has already voted – your support means a lot of to us. 3. Arc Raiders has carved out a more wholesome, cooperative niche for itself compared to other extraction shooters (thanks mostly to its now famous 'Don't Shoot!' ping), but that doesn't mean PvP gunfights are non-existent. When you do decide to challenge someone, or a shoot-on-sight squad rolls up on you, you'd hope that a fair, balanced gunfight would ensue. However, a recent weapon swap exploit has led to some incredibly one-sided battles. Some have described it as the Arc Raiders equivalent of Fortnite's 'double pump' technique, but I just describe it as a complete nuisance that makes close-range PvP engagements a nightmare. However, the new Arc Raiders update has fixed this issue, alongside other exploits players were using to enter locked rooms. Read the rest of the story... 4. Embark Studios has begun rolling out a brand-new update for ARC Raiders on November 27, bringing the popular third-person extraction shooter to version 1.4.0 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Although the latest ARC Raiders update includes only a handful of fixes, it has finally addressed two of the shooter's most prevalent exploits, which the community has been calling for to be fixed for the last few weeks. Thankfully, the update is now available to download and install across the aforementioned platforms, meaning these exploits should no longer be an issue the next time players head Topside. 9. World of Warcraft: Midnight will release globally on March 2, 2026. The second part of the Worldsoul Saga and the 11th overall expansion for Blizzard's MMORPG, Midnight will take you to new and reimagined zones, let you try out new abilities, and face "all-new Delves, dungeons, and raids." Applications for the beta test are now open, and over the course of the test, Blizzard will be "inviting community veterans, press, fansies, friends, and family" to check out the upcoming expansion. Players who have bought the Epic Edition will also get the chance to participate in the beta, as well as get three days' early access, which means they can get stuck in from February 27. You also don't have to wait until March to set up home if you've purchased any edition of the Midnight expansion — don't forget that Housing Early Access will kick off next week on December 2, so you'll be able to select a neighborhood, choose a house, and start making it cosy weeks before the expansion drops. Blizzard provided a roadmap to its expansions plans back in BlizzCon 2023. The second of three expansions announced at the time, Midnight follows last year's The War Within, and will take place in Azeroth's "Old World" in Quel'thalas, where Void forces have invaded and are trying to destroy the Sunwell and plunge the world into darkness. We played the first 10 hours last month, writing in IGN's World of Warcraft: Midnight preview: "There's still a lot of the Midnight alpha to see. Try as I might, they wouldn't even let me into the mysterious realm of Zul'Aman! But having played it basically every waking hour since I got access, which was about 10 hours ago as I write this, I am certainly impressed with the new zones and the customization housing allows, and I'm excited to see where the story of the Worldsoul Saga goes next." 14. What a rollercoaster it's been for Hytale this year. When Riot Games pulled the plug on the project, it felt like we'd never get to play the ambitious sandbox game, which was born from an incredibly popular Minecraft server several years ago and was looking to take a slice of Mojang's pie. However, the original founder of Hypixel Studios, Simon Collins-Laflamme, recently swooped in to save the project and revive the studio he started. Related: The Forge Race Tier List Heavy Armor/Colossal Money Farm Method The highest value piece of gear you can craft and sell are the Heavy Armors and Colossal Swords so they're a great method to farm money in The Forge. They have the best base selling price since they use the most ore and it's a better profit to make them and sell them than to sell the ores you use to make them. Just keep making them and selling them for a lot of cash. Here's the ore you need to make Heavy Armor and Colossal Swords: Heavy Armor: The minimum amount of Ore you need is 14 but the optimal number is 43 for the best chance. Colossal Sword: The minimum amount of Ore you need is 15 but the optimal number is 43 for the best chance. Just keep farming the best Ore you can access with your current Pickaxe level and I recommend the Dwarf race for faster mining and as many Miner Shard runes as you can slot. Always go for the highest rarity Rock Node that you can find Boulder>Basalt>Volcanic Rock/Crystal. These will give you the best ores with the highest multipliers. ItemMin OreOptimal OreDagger13Straight Sword25Gauntlet48Katana612Great Sword817Great Axe1234Colossal Sword1543Light Armor15Medium Armor414Heavy Armor1443Monster Essence Money Farm Method Another equally profitable gold farming method is to farm Monsters for Essence drops which you can then sell for a ton of gold. Get a strong DPS race like Shadow/Orc for beginners and ******/Angel/Dragonborn for best damage as well as the best runes like Blaze Chip and Drain Edge. Also, craft a weapon with the highest modifier Ore you can find and use special Ores for traits which you can see in our all Ores list. Image by Destructoid From there go into the highest level area you can access but I recommend the Volcanic region for Elite Essence which you can reach in the caves of W2 as in the picture above. Once you enter the Volcanic region you can farm Elite Skeleton Rogues and Deathaxes for the highest value essence. That said, you'll be okay with farming pretty much any monsters you can handle at your current level. After a while just go back to town, sell all the essences and continue farming to amass a lot cash. Check out our The Forge Weapon Tier List to suit your monster farming needs All of these methods will also give you a fair amount of EXP so you'll be farming levels a bit too. 18. Battlefield 6 has dropped to just $35 at Amazon in the ****** Friday sales (see here). That's 50% off, and an almighty $28 less than the previous best discount this week. Now that's more like it. If you're looking for an excellent multiplayer shooter to play over the holidays, this is it, and it's the best price we're likely to get on it for a long while. Snap it up ASAP, as I don't see this deal lasting until the rest of Thanksgiving, let alone the ****** Friday sales weekend. Sorry, Xbox fans, this is a PlayStation 5-only deal for now, as Battlefield 6 is still just under $60 for Xbox consoles. But, we'll also keep an eye out for any changes. Only releasing in October this year, Battlefield 6 has offered a true return to form for the long-running shooter franchise and has pretty much finally outdone Call of Duty at its own game, selling some almighty big numbers. While we didn’t love the campaign, there’s no denying it’s a gorgeous-looking shooting gallery, but as with any Battlefield game, the real draw is multiplayer. Whether you’re looking for infantry combat, the opportunity to fly a jet or helicopter, or you just want to pile into a tank with your friends and bring down buildings, there’s something for everyone. Reviewer Justin Koreis gave the multiplayer an 8 out of 10, saying, “Battlefield 6’s multiplayer action is expertly crafted, wrapped in a wonderful layer of destructibility that both looks great and materially affects the flow of combat. The gunplay is excellent, with weapons that are accurate enough to reward skilled shooting, but have just enough sway to promote a bit of careful thought while you take aim.” Battlefield 6 is currently in the middle of its first season of post-launch content, including new maps and modes, while the RedSec Battle Royale mode is also available as a standalone free-to-play game. Given how successful the game has been for EA, you can likely expect new seasonal updates well into the future. EA and Battlefield Studios have also recently launched the first Battlefield 6 free trial week, giving new players on PC, PS5 and Xbox the chance to try Season 1 multiplayer maps and modes from November 25, at 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET to December 2 at 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET. Should You Wait for ****** Friday on Nov. 28? Not for deals like this. ****** Friday might come with a few surprises of its own, but today, Battlefield 6 for just $35 is a ****** Friday quality deal, and well worth snapping up before it goes out of stock. Only Amazon has the deal right now, so if the deal gets nuked, then I'm afraid it'll be ****** Friday FOMO for you. Fingers crossed Walmart and Best Buy price match it soon. Apologies for the tough love, but if BF6 has been on your wishlist, this is the best possible deal we're getting, and blows any other deals out of the water. It's such a good offer, it properly rivals my previous best PS5 game deal recommendation in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater for $30 at Amazon and Walmart. Just like BF6, that's likely to sell out fast as well. Snag both as soon as you can, and have a great Thanksgiving. 20. Publisher Paradox Interactive has today taken the blame for the poor sales of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The long in development sequel launched in October and was met with a ‘mixed’ Steam user review response, with fans saying it failed to meet the expectations they had for the sequel to Troika’s 2004 cult classic Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. IGN’s Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 review returned a 7/10. We said: “Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 takes another flawed but unique and remarkable bite at the jugular, with plenty to love and loathe alike, but I certainly enjoyed my time as an elder vampire at the very least.” Now, after 30 days on *****, Paradox has issued a note to financial markets signalling a write-down valued at 355 million SEK (approx. $37 million) of capitalized development costs for Bloodlines 2. This write-down, Paradox said, was based on an updated sales forecast now it has had a month to look at Bloodlines’ commercial performance. Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive, said the blame for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2’s failure lay at the publisher’s door, not that of The ******** Room, which had been drafted in to save the project after years of development hell. “Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is a strong vampire fantasy and we are pleased with the developers’ work on the game,” Wester said. “We’ve had high expectations for a long time, since we saw that it was a good game with a strong IP in a genre with a broad appeal. A month after release we can sadly see that sales do not match our projections, which necessitates the write-down. The responsibility lies fully with us as the publisher. The game is outside of our core areas, in hindsight it is clear that this has made it difficult for us to gauge sales. Going forward, we focus our capital to our core segments and, at the same time, we’ll evaluate how we best develop World of Darkness’ strong brand catalogue in the future.” Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has two expansions planned as part of the game’s Premium Edition, and Paradox said it remains committed to delivering them. “Our post-release plan remains firm; we will deliver updates and the promised expansions to the game in the coming year,” Wester added. Swedish game company Paradox’s main focus is on grand strategy games, which have proven enormously successful over the years. Games such as Stellaris, Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings, and Cities: Skylines have all enjoyed big sales, and, in total, Paradox games have six million players each month. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, however, falls outside that core grand strategy genre, and always looked like it would struggle upon release. And while its development trouble began years ago, it suffered issues right up to launch. In September, a month before release, Paradox and The ******** Room announced that the Lasombra and Toreador clans would be available in the base Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 experience following a backlash from players. Paradox announced Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 all the way back in 2019 with then-developer Hardsuit aiming for a Q1 2020 release window. That, of course, never happened, as Paradox would go on to announce an indefinite delay alongside Hardsuit's departure from the project. The ******** Room was then announced as its new developer in 2023. In a recent interview with the Goth Boss podcast, former creative director Dan Pinchbeck said the development team tried to work out how to get Paradox to not call the game Bloodlines 2. "The tricky question around it was Bloodlines 1," Pinchbeck said. "Are you making a sequel to Bloodlines 1? We used to sit there and have these planning sessions of how do we get them to not call it Bloodlines 2? That feels like the most important thing we do here, to come at this and say this isn't Bloodlines 2. We can't make Bloodlines 2; there's not enough time, there's not enough money.” Wesley is Director, News at IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. 22. The Bad Neighborhood quest in Of Ash and Steel is a pretty tricky one to complete, as you'll have to find four wheels. When you begin the quest, you won't have a map with you. This will make your life pretty hard since you'll have to use the landmarks to find the wheels. This guide will help you with the locations of all four wheels so that you can finish the quest without any problem. Table of contentsOf Ash and Steel Bad Neighborhood quest walkthroughWheel 1 locationWheel 2 locationWheel 3 locationWheel 4 locationOf Ash and Steel Bad Neighborhood quest walkthrough Since there's no map, we will start with the first wheel from where Radim sits (the quest giver). The first three wheels are pretty much equidistant from this point, but in different areas. Wheel 1 location Image via tinyBuild Go left, and you'll find the path branching off into two directions. Take the one going left towards the bridge. Don't take the bridge; turn right and continue straight. Keep going straight past the hills bordering the river. This path will eventually lead you to a plank that allows you to access a broken wall on the river. The first wheel is on top of this wheel. Once you obtain it, come back to the point from where we began. Wheel 2 location Image via tinyBuild To get the second wheel, turn right past the big rock from where the Radim is sitting and continue straight. Keep looking to your right for a set of barricades and a small tent. The wheel will be to the left of the tent's entrance, and there are a few more resources that you can loot from this location. You'll also get a note from the tent, which serves as a clue for another quest item. Wheel 3 location Image via tinyBuild The third wheel can be found close to the tent from where you get the second one. From the entrance, move towards the left, sticking close to the rocks. You'll reach a cart, and the wheel will be to its left. Wheel 4 location To reach the fourth wheel, take the bridge (refer to Wheel 1 section) and cross the river. Once you reach teh point marked in the screenshot below, take the narrow path take the narrow math that I have marked. Image via tinyBuild. Remix by Destructoid Follow this path all the way (don't deviate), and you'll reach a hut. Go inside, and you'll find a sleeping NPC named Hermit. He has the fourth wheel, but he needs two Rye. You can get the Rye from Radim (get two) or bring it in your inventory. Exchange the Rye for getting the final wheel. Once you have collected all four wheels, speak with Radim, and this will complete the Bad Neighborhood quest.
