Imperator Titans are the largest ground-based war machines in the arsenal of Warhammer 40k's Imperium of Man - 330-foot tall walking cathedrals, with gun arms half a football field long. So, I've often wondered: what would I see and hear when one turns its barrels on me and fires? As of today, I'm no longer curious, though, because the work of two intrepid YouTubers has created a one-minute animation of that exact experience, in awesome, terrifying detail. Huge, game-redefining patches are the norm in Dota 2, but even so, there’s always some fun to be had whenever they come out. In Patch 7.38, which changed the entire map and most heroes in the game, Techies can now solo Roshan by letting him voluntarily walk through a minefield. This latest update, released on Feb. 19, once again influenced the layout of the Dota 2 map. By expanding the river, Roshan’s old pit was washed out and flooded, so Ice Frog decided to put him back in his old spots—between mid and the side lanes. Instead of teleporting through the gate, Roshan now simply walks from one pit to the other, crossing the mid lane every five minutes. However, he likely doesn’t expect Techies to come out of nowhere with dozens of mines planted to take him down while he’s on a stroll, which is exactly what this sly hero can do as of this Dota 2 patch. For a while now, many AI researchers have been working to integrate a so-called "world model" into their systems. Ideally, these models could infer a simulated understanding of how in-game objects and characters should behave based on video footage alone, then create fully interactive video that instantly simulates new playable worlds based on that understanding. Microsoft Research's new World and Human Action Model (WHAM), revealed today in a paper published in the journal Nature, shows how quickly those models have advanced in a short time. But it also shows how much further we have to go before the dream of on AI crafting complete, playable gameplay footage from just some basic prompts and sample video footage are reality. More consistent, more persistent Much like Google's Genie model before it, WHAM starts by training on "ground truth" gameplay video and input data provided by actual players. In this case, that data comes from Bleeding Edge, a 4 vs. 4 online brawler released in 2020 by Microsoft subsidiary Ninja Theory. By collecting actual player footage since launch (as allowed under the game's EULA), Microsoft gathered the equivalent of seven player-years' worth of gameplay video paired with real player inputs. Avowed breaks the RPG mold in a few ways, and one of the most exciting is that you're not limited in what weapon types you can equip, allowing you to make your own class based on which weapons feel best to you. The weapons you start with are, of course, pale imitations of the power of weapons later in the game, and finding these powerful armaments will augment the build you craft as you level up. Choose weapons that complement the strengths of your chosen skills while also covering your weaknesses in combat. View the full article

Henry may be a knight in shining armor throughout most of your adventure with him, but sometimes it's better to be sneaky. Being quiet in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 means knowing how to stealth knockout and kill efficiently. To stealth knockout a person in Kingdom Come 2, you must sneak behind them and press the appropriate button or key to begin the chokehold maneuver. What you press to stealth grab differs based on your platform: F key on keyboard Left trigger on an Xbox pad L2 on a PlayStation controller How to get a stealth knockout in Kingdom Come 2 Pressing the correct button or key doesn't guarantee that a hapless guard or bandit is instantly put to sleep, though. Wait a moment after grabbing them and press the left mouse button (left trigger on an Xbox pad or L2 on a PlayStation controller) when the blue swords icon appears. Press the button in conjunction with the icon, which flashes when done correctly. Henry will choke out his target if it works, letting you grab the body or drop it to the ground. Screenshot by Destructoid But what happens when they fight back? Some may try and wrestle themselves free of Henry's grasp. When that happens, the Perfect Block (green shield) icon flashes across the screen. You only have a moment to stop them from breaking free. If they succeed, the stealth mission is a bust because now you have to fight an angry, yelling foe. Screenshot by Destructoid Press the attack button in time with the green shield icon to prevent them from breaking the grasp. For PC users, that's the right mouse button. It's the right trigger on Xbox and R2 on a PlayStation controller. The timing can be mercilessly short, so make sure you're prepared to hit the button every time you grasp an enemy. How to stealth kill You can only stealth kill someone in Kingdom Come 2 when you have a dagger equipped. Unlike many games, the dagger in Kingdom Come 2 is more of a tool than a traditional weapon. The default dagger has no attributes beyond weight, health, and price. You can't use it in combat; it's a device for killing quickly and quietly, nothing more. Screenshot by Destructoid To stealth kill an enemy in Kingdom Come 2, you must sneak behind a person as usual and hold the stealth grab button — don't tap it. Doing so sees Henry whip out the shiv and hold it to his victim's throat. Killing the target takes them out of the picture for good. How to train stealth takedowns and get a dagger early in Kingdom Come 2 One of the best things to do early in your run of Kingdom Come 2 is to head southeast to the Lower Semine Mill for some stealth training. It may not seem like it at first, but the mill is home to a clandestine stealth operation run by the head miller. You can almost think of it as the game's version of Bethesda's popular Thieves Guild faction from The Elder Scrolls games. Screenshot by Destructoid Go to the mill and speak with Miller Kreyzl. Ask him for work, and he'll put you on task to lug around heavy sacks — the start of the Materia Prima activity. Complete the job to learn about Kreyzl's true nature, and he'll offer to teach you the trade. Agree, and speak with Hired Hand Hensel, who'll teach you the basics of stealth takedowns and pickpocketing. Screenshot by Destructoid Here is where you can train your stealth skills and learn the basics of medieval skullduggery. It's also a good place to get some early lockpicks and a free dagger. You can get a dagger in the barn Hensel brings you for stealth training. After successfully knocking him out a couple of times, he'll tell you to take it for when you need to kill your targets. Next to the dagger are a handful of lockpicks. Typically, you can find daggers scattered around the world, such as in loot containers. You can also purchase them from certain shopkeepers. For example, Fence Whitebeard at the Nomad camp has one for *****. Screenshot by Destructoid Miller Kreyzl also has stealth-specific missions for you to complete. After you finish training, talk to him again and start a series of sneaky side quests. Best skills for stealth knockouts There are skills you should unlock if you want to maximize your effectiveness in stealth. Check out: One Way or Another (Stealth Skill - Level 6)If an enemy will gain a debuff if they break your grasp. Lasts for 20 seconds. Sandman (Strength Skill - Level 12)It's easier to knockout or stealth kill an enemy. Best of luck in all your sneaking adventures. Remember: if you're caught, Miller Kreyzl will disavow all knowledge about you. The post How to stealth knockout and kill in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 appeared first on Destructoid. Last year was an indie year, but no game proves that better than Palworld, whose developers announced that the game amassed over 32 million players in its first year on the market. This places the indie title way above several AAA releases, proving massive budgets aren’t the key to success. Pocketpair, the developer behind this indie smash hit, announced this colossal milestone on X on Feb. 19, Palworld‘s first birthday. Having launched in January 2024, the game has since pulled in over 32 million players across all platforms, cementing itself in the gaming hall of fame both in terms of popularity and quality. It’s also the third-most played game on Steam of all time, only trailing behind PUBG, which paved the way for battle royale games in 2017, and ****** Myth: Wukong, which had an unprecedented launch in China. Being an indie title, Palworld has once again proved that massive AAA budgets don’t mean those games will actually land with players—a point particularly illustrated by the fact that a sea of AAA endeavors launched in 2024 failed to reach even a fraction of the players Palworld did.
