  1. Starmetal is a powerful crafting material used to create and upgrade two unique weapons in Avowed. Starmetal is also tied to the quest “Forged of Star-Stuff,” which will trigger the first time you pick up a piece of Starmetal. You can bring the Starmetal you find to Forgemaster Dela in Solace Keep to get a unique arquebus (Moonstrike) or sword (Meteor Blade). Both can be upgraded once. Although you have to choose at first, finding all four Starmetal pieces will let you craft everything available, so you’re not missing out on anything if you start with one or the other. 4. A full two years since its release, rumors have begun to swirl regarding new content for 2023’s Hogwarts Legacy. The problem is that the amount of time that has passed makes creating DLC for the magical RPG almost entirely pointless, especially since a sequel has been confirmed to be in the works. The entire Harry Potter franchise is gearing up for a new era with the upcoming HBO series, so the next Harry Potter game should look to the future instead of trying to tweak the past. 8. Elden Ring Nightreign inherits practically everything from its predecessor, and by extension, older FromSoftware games, despite its wildly different gameplay loop. The developer's action RPGs have long featured compelling co-op and PvP, but they also make consistent use of asymmetrical multiplayer elements. The messages that players can leave for others to read and rate are the most famous, but the translucent phantoms (sometimes referred to as ghosts) that appear can be just as helpful, and these are undergoing a major change in Nightreign. 12. Shortly after the launch of Obsidian's newest RPG, Avowed, the game's director shed some light on the game's troubled development in a new interview. After it was first revealed in 2020, Avowed took five years to release, during which time the game shifted direction drastically from what was shown in the initial trailer - seemingly for the better, as the game has released to generally positive reviews. According to director Carrie Patel, however, that shift in direction posed some major challenges while the game was still in development. View the full article

  19. BitLife's Impossible Girl challenge tests your ability to balance day-to-day work with crime. There's some luck involved this time, but for the most part, your focus is to find a special best friend, pursue romance, and shatter it all in one go. BitLife Impossible Girl challenge guide BitLife's Impossible Girl challenge has five tasks to complete: Be born a female in the United Kingdom Become best friends with a doctor Become a baker Rob a bank ******* a boyfriend If you have access to the criminal special talent from the ****** job pack, you'll have a slightly easier time robbing a bank and murdering your character's boyfriend later. Otherwise, there are no specific requirements for this challenge, allowing anyone to participate in it. Be born a female in the United Kingdom Your first task of the Impossible Girl challenge is to create a female character born in the United Kingdom. To do this, choose female as your Gender and the United Kingdom as your starting country. Your name and place are entirely up to you. Screenshot by Destructoid From here, your first two goals are to pursue Medical School and become a doctor before swapping to a baker career later in your playthrough. That way, you can knock out two birds with one stone, even if it'll take some time and money. Become best friends with a doctor Next up is becoming best friends with a doctor, which you can accomplish with one of two strategies: get lucky and find a doctor friend or become a doctor yourself and befriend a coworker. The first option is entirely luck-dependent and can take some time, while the other requires completing Medical School. Your first option is to get lucky and befriend a doctor. To attempt this, befriend as many people as possible throughout your playthrough and age up until everyone starts getting jobs. By the time you're around age 30, you'll notice your friends have random jobs with a small chance of someone becoming a doctor. The more friends you have, the higher your odds of this happening. Once you spot a doctor in your list, raise your relationship and change your status to "Best Friend" to finish the task. Alternatively, you can go to Medical School, become a doctor, and befriend one of your coworkers. However, this'll make it slightly harder to become a baker, as your full-time job list will prioritize giving you medical careers. Nonetheless, it's another option if you have trouble finding friends through random encounters. Become a baker Once you either befriend a doctor or become one yourself, you'll be ready to swap over to a baker job. Unlike the doctor role, being a baker requires no job experience or formal education. You just need to scroll through your full-time job list until you see the position. Screenshot by Destructoid The baker job appears with a "Small Business" tag and a croissant emoji next to its name. Once you find it, apply for the role and pass the interview to become a baker, setting you up for the two hardest tasks of the Impossible Girl challenge. Rob a bank Now that you've made a new friend and pursued a lifelong career, it's time to turn things upside down with some crime. First is robbing a bank, which you can do by heading into Activities, Crime, and Bank Robbery. Your options are up to you; the result is the important part. If you fail the robbery, you can restart your BitLife app or accept the outcome and try again later. Either way, once you successfully pull off the heist, you'll complete four of the five tasks of this challenge. Eliminate a boyfriend Last but not least, you must eliminate your BitLife character's boyfriend. Your character has a chance to find a boyfriend through random encounters or by visiting the gym, but you can also head into Activities, Love, and Date to get a partner. From here, head back into the Crime tab and choose ******* before picking an inconspicuous option like poison or drive-by. Succeeding the attempt will complete the Impossible Girl challenge, rewarding you with a mystery cosmetic prize. 24. The Thing is seeing tons of appreciation from the Marvel Rivals community, with players more than happy that he was added to the game. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, however, as some believe The Thing’s cosmetic side leaves a lot to be desire. “The reward for worst 600 currency skin goes to this thing,” said the creator of a Feb. 22 Reddit discussion focused on The Thing’s 600 currency skin that changes… basically nothing. It’s just him in a different pair of shorts with everything else looking the same. Not even his shading changed to match the iteration of the character from the comics who also wears that same pair of shorts. Meanwhile, the other “First Family” skins for the rest of the Fantastic Four all follow a shared pattern—blue with ****** accents—whereas First Family Thing does the complete opposite and wears ****** shorts with blue accents. “I wish it was in line with the others more,” one player said.
