Once you reach the Modern Age in Sid Meier's Civilization 7,you'll notice that the Economic Legacy Path requires 500 Railroad Tycoon points acquired from "manufacturing goods in your factories." This might seem like a massive undertaking if you haven't been in the Modern Age before or pursued the Economic route. In reality, it's pretty straightforward once you get a sense of the different requirements, and factory resources are essentially just a unique type of resource with some specific prerequisites. Though in many ways similar to the original Elden Ring, the upcoming standalone expansion Elden Ring Nightreign looks different, causing some to fear it might pale when compared to the rest of FromSoftware's works. Prolific Elden Ring Youtuber Zullie The Witch has released a video showing things are actually going pretty well — at least when it comes to bosses — as FromSoftware seems to have once again messed with the formula and perfectly adapted it to the game's new core system. [Hidden Content] Nightreign is primarily meant as a cooperative experience. This means the boss experience could be hindered because the original bosses would easily be outsmarted and obliterated by a team of three thinking minds. Either that or the studio could be forced to buff the bosses into absolute sword sponges that would make their encounters fun for no one. That's not the case, as Nightreign features an evolved boss experience, one with the co-op factor in mind. In short, the new boss encounters featured in the beta feel less like typical Souls bosses and more like bosses from an MMO that require Souls knowledge and skills to beat. Boss encounters won't necessarily feature just one enemy but rather a main enemy accompanied by soldiers or wave spawns that will require players to adapt their approach to battle. One of the Souls series' greatest achievements was the reinvention of the video game boss. Out of nowhere, the tired trope of the simply ******* enemy waiting for you at the end of the level became one of the most memorable parts of the game due to the mechanical complexity and variety of FromSoft's bosses. Also, they now could be popping up anywhere. Nightreign aims at a different Souls experience, one focused on a kind of co-op play also inspired by Battle Royale and Roguelite titles. If that sounds confusing, that's probably just a sign that FromSoftware is again seriously tinkering with our conception of games, and that seems like a good thing. In a sad development for series fans, WWE 2K25 won’t be bringing back the popular show intro cutscenes from MyUniverse mode. Over the past month or so, more details about the next entry in the long-running WWE 2K franchise have been unveiled, sometimes as announcements on WWE programs. Hogwarts Legacy, one of the most popular RPGs of 2023, allowed players to attend the most famous fictional school in the world and embark on their very own magical adventure. While the game did allow players to mostly immerse themselves in a life attending Hogwarts by creating their own witch or wizard, attending classes, and meeting fellow students, some RPG elements were lacking. Avowed is full of countless side quests throughout its detailed rendition of Eora, and Dawntreader, a side-quest occurring relatively early within Avowed's first zone, is one that absolutely shouldn't be missed. The quest revolves around a temple of Eothas deep within a cave system. You are tasked, initially, to find a group of the Free Expedition Corps who are currently investigating the remote temple. A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail is potentially hinting at the lineup of characters in the Version 3.4 update, hinting at the launch of the highly-anticipated Fate collab. The HoYoverse sci-fi RPG has introduced a plethora of charaacters to the game alongside the recent launch of its newest playable world of Amphoreus. HoYoverse has teased each member of the world's "Chrysos Heirs" characters, with several like Tribbie, Mydei, and Castorice already being confirmed for release. In an update to the World of Warcraft public test realm (PTR) client, Blizzard confirmed that professions will receive major changes once Patch 11.1 goes live on February 25. These changes include granting World of Warcraft players an easier way to obtain Enchanted Crests used to make gear, and a one-time specialization point reset for each profession. We're at a point now where deckbuilders can come in all shapes and sizes. Balatro takes the traditional 52 card deck in an all-new direction, Slay the Spire spins the genre towards turn-based combat, and Inscryption drenches the idea in an unsettling atmosphere. My point is, we've got so much choice that just calling a videogame a deckbuilder these days won't tell you nearly enough. That said, it's one of my favorite genres, so I'm always on the lookout for new experiences. If that's you, too, then Humble has a new 'pay what you want' bundle filled with excellent games. Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has officially announced the newest update to the game's Forbidden and Limited List, set to be released in early March. Throughout the more than three years since Konami first launched its massively popular digital trading card game, the developer has regularly looked to make adjustments to the game's meta through banlist updates. Konami's now-monthly banlist updates have seen everything from minor tweaks of specific cards to sweeping changes affecting many of Yu-Gi-Oh's most powerful decks.
