  2. The first splits of major League of Legends competitions are slowly ending, which means the 2025 First Draft is right around the corner. In preparation for the first international event of the year, Riot Games is making pro-focused balance changes in Patch 25.5. The 2025 LTA Split One, 2025 LCK Cup, and 2025 LCP Season Kickoff have already concluded at the time of writing. As a result, Team Liquid, Hanwha Life Esports, and CTBC Flying Oyster are preparing for the First Stand, and if they want to win the whole thing, they need to adjust to League Patch 25.S1.5. The official notes have yet to be revealed, but we can take an early look thanks to Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, the lead game developer. View the full article
  3. Sorcerous cardgame Balatro and slot machine RPG Luck Be A Landlord have been reclassified as fit for people aged 12 years and over by the Pan European Games Information board, after they were initially slapped with an 18 rating for "glamorising... the simulation of gambling". PEGI have made the change following a successful appeal against the 18 rating by Balatro's European publisher Sold Out and Luck Be A Landlord's Switch publisher Fangamer. They're also going to develop "a more granular set of classification criteria" for games that reference gambling, to distinguish jingling parodies of rentier capitalism from the one arm bandits found in actual casinos. 4. Konami and Bloober Team have announced that they will be working together again on a new game. Bloober Team enjoyed critical success with its remake of Silent Hill 2, but now the studio will work on a new game. While it would appear that a new Silent Hill game would almost certainly be on the cards, Bloober Team’s statement simply says it will be working on “a new game based on Konami’s IP”. Read More... 6. If you want to look your quirkiest self in the popular survival-horror title, Content Warning, you’re probably looking for the best custom faces you can use to make your first impression. Don’t worry, as we’re here with a pretty long list. When you load into a game of Content Warning, you wake up in a house with a huge TV screen which you can use to “type” your face. Whatever you enter in that text box—upto three characters—shows up on your character’s face. While you can type almost anything that’s possible using a keyboard, the best Content Warning faces usually represent an emotion—or send a message. View the full article
  7. I’ve been trying the demo for Squirreled Away, and for some reason it keeps wanting me to play it as some kinda 2024-as-heck survival crafting game. At this, I make several rapid sniffing-like movements, then scarper adeptly yet dismissively up the nearest tree. It’s just far more fun to treat this as a casual squirrel sim, or, at the very least, a platformer where you occasionally need to steal some strawberries. Read more View the full article
  8. Call of Duty’s Steam page now discloses that the game uses generative AI. While it’s not clear to what extent generative AI is used in the development of the game, the Steam page now includes an AI Generated Content Disclosure section which simply states: “Our team uses generative AI tools to help develop some in game assets.” Some players have been accusing Activision of using generative AI for a number of months now, most notable last December when the Season 1 Reloaded update came to ****** Ops 6. 21. For the third time now, the highly anticipated MMORPG experience Rune Slayer has been launched. I just hope it’s for good this time, though. If you’re as excited as I am, you’ll want to roll a good class and steamroll the first couple of hours. To help my fellow min-maxers, here’s your all Rune Slayer races tier list. Table of contentsRune Slayer Races Tier ListList of All Rune Slayer Races Ranked Dullahan (S Tier) ****** (A Tier)Ailuran (A Tier)Elf (A Tier)Human (B Tier)Half Golem (B Tier) Orc (C Tier)How to Choose a Race in Rune Slayer Rune Slayer Races Tier List Image by Destructoid You can see our Rune Slayer races tier list right above. As expected, the rarest race, Dullahan, is the best, and it’s honestly not even close. Don’t get me wrong, ******, Elf, and Ailuran are also outstanding but they don’t even come close to Dullahan’s all-around might. The gap between them and Humans and Half-Golems, both re-rollable races, is even *******. Whether they’re good is up for debate, but what’s not is how absolutely horrendous Orc is. List of All Rune Slayer Races Ranked Below, I’ll cover all the races in Rune Slayer, focusing on their powers, passives, and specialties. Just remember to focus on learning the ropes, leveling u,p and having fun. There’s no reason why an Orc couldn’t defeat a Dullahan if you’re skilled enough. Don’t forget to grab Rune Slayer codes along the way, too. A Dullahan (S Tier) Screenshot by Destructoid Roll chance: 2% Stats: Passive - Grim Reaper: Restores health slightly when killing enemies. Passive - Undead Body: +25% Robustness, +25% Cold Resistance, -20% Holy Resistance. Active - Severed Sight: Pop off your head and use it like a camera. Active - Soul Harvest (Lv. 15 Skill): Lunge forward and sweep with your scythe. Dullahans are built for sheer endurance and frontline combat. With Grim Reaper restoring health after each kill and Undead Body reducing incoming damage, they’re made to stay in the thick of battle. Perfect for players who want to absorb punishment and keep pushing forward. They pair best with high-damage melee classes like Warrior or Striker, letting you soak up hits while dishing out steady damage. In Rune Slayer PvP, they’re ideal for outlasting glass-cannon builds and slowly wearing down opponents with relentless pressure. If you want to be a tank that refuses to go down, this race is for you. ****** (A Tier) Screenshot by Destructoid Roll chance: 6% Stats: Passive - ****** Body: Reduces Magic and Fire Resistance, but increases Immunity by 25%. Passive - Viscous Remains: Chance to release a blob of ****** when struck. Active - Viscous Shock (10 Magic Requirement): Sacrifice HP to unleash a powerful ****** shockwave. Slimes specialize in reactive defense and unpredictability. ****** Body can nullify incoming attacks, and Viscous Remains punishes attackers with blobs that slow and damage nearby enemies. They thrive in chaotic fights where randomness and adaptability shine. This race pairs well with Magician builds, offering a strong defense while focusing on ranged magic damage. A Thief-****** hybrid turns into an evasive threat that punishes aggression. Slimes are perfect if you prefer a defensive playstyle that frustrates and counters enemy strategies. Ailuran (A Tier) Screenshot by Destructoid Roll chance: 10% Stats: Passive - Fleetfoot: +8% Speed boost. Passive - Beastly Coat: +10% Fire Resistance, +25% Heat & Cold Resistance. Passive - Prowler: +25% Jump Height, +15% Fall Damage Reduction. Ailurans are built for speed and mobility. Fleetfoot enhances your movement and jump height, while Beastly Coat reduces fire damage. Their speed makes them perfect for players who thrive on fast-paced, hit-and-run tactics. Paired with Thief or Archer classes, Ailurans excel in quick strikes and evasive maneuvers. Their agility also makes exploration easier, opening up routes others can’t reach. If you want to outmaneuver opponents and control the flow of combat, Ailurans deliver. And if you’re wondering—no, I didn’t place them this high up just because of the cat ears. Elf (A Tier) Screenshot by Destructoid Roll chance: 25.3% Stats: Passive - Strider: +3% Speed, +10% Cooldown Reduction, +10% Stealth. Passive - Mana Affinity: +10% Mana. Passive - Focus Affinity: +5% Focus. Active - Duskwalk (Lv. 15 Skill): Become invisible for a duration. Speaking of ears, those with pointy ones–elves are masters of magic and strategic combat. Mana Affinity boosts mana reserves, Strider reduces cooldown times, and Duskwalk allows for temporary invisibility, perfect for repositioning or ambushes. They shine with Magician builds, offering sustained magical offense and tactical advantages. Archer-Elf hybrids use stealth and range to deadly effect. Elves are built for players who enjoy precision, control, and dominating from a distance with spells or arrows. Human (B Tier) Screenshot by Destructoid Roll chance: 25.3% Stats: Passive - Tenacity: When below 50% HP, gain increased damage and damage reduction. Passive - Ghoul Slayer: Deal more damage to undead enemies. Passive - Hunger Efficiency: +1 Focus Efficiency, +2 Mana Efficiency. Humans are flexible and balanced, with Tenacity providing small boosts to all primary attributes. They don’t specialize in any one area but are effective across all classes. This race lets you experiment with any playstyle—melee, ranged, or magic. Ideal for players who want versatility without being locked into a specific strategy. Half Golem (B Tier) Screenshot by Destructoid Roll chance: 6% Stats: Passive - Stone Body: -5% Max Speed, +5% Damage Reduction, +10 Max Weight, +25% Robustness. Half-Golems balance raw power with resilience. Instead of multiple powers, they rely on Stone Body, which gives them a damage reduction with speed and weight debuffs. If their evolutions turn out to be great, I’ll gladly move them up this Rune Slayer races tier list. They work well with hybrid builds like Striker or Paladin, mixing offensive strength with solid durability. In PvP, Half-Golems are great for players who want to trade blows and capitalize on their survivability while dishing out serious damage. Orc (C Tier) Screenshot by Destructoid Roll chance: 25.3% Stats: Passive - Battle Hardened: +10% Base Health Regeneration. Passive - Ravenous: +15% Max Hunger. Passive - Ash Walker: +20% Heat Resistance. Orcs thrive on brute strength and aggression. Their passive ability, Battle Hardened, boosts attack power as their health drops, encouraging an all-or-nothing approach in battle. Ash Walker grants you heat resistance, a bit more than Ailurans. Best suited for Warrior or Berserker classes, Orcs are okay-ish in melee combat with overwhelming force. In PvP, they’re perfect for players who favor aggressive, high-risk engagements and don’t mind playing with a handicap from the get-go. Sorry, but Orc just isn’t there yet. How to Choose a Race in Rune Slayer You don’t choose a race in Rune Slayer; you roll it at random. What if you don’t like what you rolled? In that case, you can purchase a Race Reroll for R$150. I wouldn’t recommend this, especially if you’re waiting for a ****** or Dullahan. So don’t stress over RNG too much, study our Rune Slayer races tier list and learn how to take advantage of every play style. That concludes our all Rune Slayer races tier list. If I continue bashing Humans like this, I might have to go into witness protection. My safety aside, you should also check out the Rune Slayer Trello and Discord and engage with the community. 22. Every few months, the developers behind the Sims 4 unveil a survey filled with potential Expansion Pack ideas, but this time around, Simmers are fed up with a recurring expansion pack trend. In previous Sims games, Expansion Packs served as the biggest DLC you could purchase, and each pack offered a plethora of activities that were all themed around a central idea. As the Sims 4 celebrates its 11th year and is rapidly encroaching on 100 DLC packs, Simmers are starting to realize just how much modern content EA is chopping up. View the full article
  23. The original Steam Deck has a notoriously terrible battery life; the Steam Deck OLED made marginal improvements, but it still won't last all day. You’ll want a reliable USB-C charger close by to make sure you don’t run out of juice during pivotal game moments. Our favorite charger for Steam Deck is the compact and speedy Anker 715 Charger. Whether you’re after the best power bank for charging on the go, something cheap to leave in the car or office, or a wall charger rocking extra ports to top off multiple devices simultaneously, we’ve got you covered. TL; DR – The Best Steam Deck Chargers One of the best Steam Deck accessories you can grab is obviously a charger – the one the Steam Deck comes with taps out at 45W, has an attached USB-C cable, and just isn’t great. Finding an option that squeezes out the max charging speeds of the Steam Deck, like a 65W option, is ideal, especially if you plan on playing while charging. A removable USB-C, extra ports, and portability are also nice. We’ve found five of the best Steam Deck chargers for home or travel that check all the nice-to-have boxes. Plus, all of our picks work perfectly with most other handheld gaming PCs, phones, and more. 1. Anker 715 ChargerBest Overall Sure, you can get by with the Steam Deck’s included charger, but it outputs a max of 45W, and the USB-C cable isn’t detachable, making it less portable. Anker’s 715 Charger is much more compact, measuring only 1.65x1.42x1.74 inches with prongs that fold into the body, so you can easily toss it into a bag. It manages 65W while keeping those small dimensions thanks to GaN II technology, ensuring you get the fastest charging speeds out of your Steam Deck. Of course, the Anker 715 isn't limited to charging your Steam Deck. It gets the best smartphones, tablets, and more topped up in no time, although you’re limited to charging a single device at a time with its single USB-C port. It also doesn’t include a USB-C to USB-C cable. So unless you already have one, you’ll want to grab a cable that supports high charging speeds. This two-pack of USB-C cables from Anker is a great inexpensive option. 2. Jsaux 45W USB-C Power Delivery ChargerBest Budget Option Looking for an inexpensive replacement for the Steam Deck charger, or maybe an extra option you can leave in your car or office when you’re desperate for juice? The Jsaux 45W USB-C Power Delivery Charger is a great cheap option. For under $20, it delivers a 45W max charging speed, same as the original charger, bringing your Steam Deck back to full in just 2.5 hours. The Jsaux 45W USB-C Power Delivery Charger has an attached durable and flexible USB-C cable coming in at 5ft or 10ft. The charger also has a 90-degree USB-C adapter, making it more comfortable to game while charging. This charger works with a handful of other USB-C devices, like your Nintendo Switch, too. Jsaux also makes our overall favorite Steam Deck docking station if you'd prefer to charge your handheld that way. 3. Anker 733 Power BankBest Hybrid Charger The Anker 733 Power Bank combines a wall charger and a portable battery into one hybrid device that’s perfect for travelers. It looks like your typical power bank, but it has foldable prongs that reach 65W as a wall charger to top off your Steam Deck and other devices. It uses a GaN-powered charging system for better efficiency and thermal protection. Beyond having a USB-C charger for your Steam Deck, a second USB-C and USB-A ports are available. However, you won’t get the 65W max speeds when multiple devices are plugged in. If the 10,000mAh battery is charging your Steam Deck, it taps out at 30W, so don’t expect your portable gaming PC to be charged quickly. You should still get over one full charge to your Steam Deck with this power bank. 4. Anker 737 Power BankBest Power Bank If you spend most of your time playing your Steam Deck on the go, a power bank is more useful than a typical wall charger, and the Anker 737 is an absolute beast of an option. The 24,000 mAh capacity – just under the TSA’s lithium-ion battery max limit – can charge up your Steam Deck about four times, adding hours of extra playtime when you’re away from an outlet. The high-capacity battery is paired with a 140W output when using one of the two USB-C ports available. Neither the Steam Deck or Steam Deck OLED will hit those wild charging speeds, but MacBooks and other laptops can take advantage. An additional USB-A means you can charge three devices simultaneously with a total combined output of 140W. The battery bank itself is also capable of recharging at that high speed thanks to Power Delivery 3.1 and ***-directional technology. Anker even includes a USB-C to USB-C cable that’ll work seamlessly with the Steam Deck, and a handy display shows the input and output power. 5. Ugreen Nexode 200W 6-Port GaN ChargerBest USB Hub The Ugreen Nexode 200W 6-Port GaN Charger can charge up to six devices simultaneously with a maximum output of 200W. This charger is equipped with four USB-C ports and two USB-A ports; two of those USB-C ports can deliver 100W charging speeds, far exceeding the 65W the Steam Deck is capable of. But it’ll charge up the best iPads or even some gaming laptops in no time flat. Ugreen also includes a USB-C cable capable of 100W to make the most of this charger. Of course, when multiple electronics are connected, charging speeds will slow. Even with all of its ports, the Ugreen Nexode 200W 6-Port GaN Charger keeps compact dimensions, making it a great USB charging hub to take on the go. Four advanced GaN chips help keep the size down as well as improve energy efficiency and heat generation on the device. Just be prepared to pay a premium for such a capable charger. How to Choose the Best Steam Deck Charger When deciding on a Steam Deck charger, there are several factors to consider, with the price and inclusion of at least one USB-C port being the most important. You can find budget options for under $30 that work great, but you'll most likely be limited to only one port. Upping the budget usually leads to additional ports and faster charging speeds with a more durable build and additional features like GaN technology, the latest Power Delivery, and smart displays. The Steam Deck comes with a 45W charger and attached USB-C cable, so at a minimum, you’ll want a charger that hits those same charging speeds. A 65W option seems to be the sweet spot, as you’ll get to squeeze the fastest charging speeds out of the Steam Deck, even while it’s in use, using about 15W while playing games. You’re free to get a higher wattage charger, but the Steam Deck won’t charge any faster. If you’re looking for an option that lets you charge multiple devices simultaneously, having an even higher max output can make a world of difference for quick charges Beyond a USB-C wall charger, power banks or hybrid options are great for those who play their Steam Deck on the go. At a minimum, you’ll want a power bank equipped with a 10,000mAh battery or more. Again, a higher wattage option will also ensure your Steam Deck is topped up quickly. Adding this extra functionality means these chargers tend to be ******* and bulkier. After you’ve decided on a charger, you’ll want to ensure you’ve got a USB-C cable that can charge your Steam Deck at the top speeds. Or maybe you’d like to charge your Steam Deck and use it with other peripherals like the best keyboard, mouse, or gaming monitor? Consider getting one of the best Steam Deck docks instead. Steam Deck Charging FAQHow long does the Steam Deck battery last? Unfortunately, the original LCD Steam Deck’s battery is only 40Whr and rated to last at a maximum of 7-8 hours. In our review, God of War, at its default settings, fully depleted the battery in 90 minutes. Lowering the frame rate and other settings can help with battery life, but having a wall charger or power bank is an absolute necessity. The Steam Deck OLED is more efficient and offers a slightly larger 50Whr battery, allowing for a maximum of 12 hours of playtime. Valve claims it gets 30–50% better battery life compared to the LCD option. This fact was confirmed in our testing of the OLED model, as when playing Cyberpunk 2077, it lasted a full hour longer than on the LCD Steam Deck. What is the maximum charging speed of the Steam Deck? The top charging speed the Steam Deck is capable of achieving is 65W. Using a higher watt output charger is perfectly fine, the Steam Deck will only charge at the rate it can handle. It can also charge with lower watt chargers, the recharge time will just be longer.
