  1. Call of Duty gamers looking to jump back into Warzone’s classic Verdansk map in a couple of weeks will have to wait just a bit longer, unfortunately. The official CoD Twitter/X account delivered the disappointing news that season three of ****** Ops 6 will now begin on April 3, and not the original assumed start date of March 20, as in-game countdown timers have alluded to in season two. 2. I love Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, more than I care to admit. It's a beautiful, sprawling game that perfectly builds upon its predecessor through its characters and world design innovations while also offering a compelling RPG experience unlike any other. From its perfectly paced narrative to its phenomenally written characters, I knew the second I started it that Rebirth was the perfect game for me. It is so perfect, in fact, that I've bought it twice, once on PC and once on PS5. I figured I've bought Skyrim so many times that getting Rebirth twice is child's play in comparison. 3. World of Warcrafthas just launched its exciting new goblin-filled patch, Undermine(d) as part of its ongoing additions to The War Within expansion. After years of skirting around the goblin cartels of Azeroth, players are finally getting to experience the hidden capital city of Undermine itself. Featuring an impressive new ground mount system called D.R.I.V.E - where players can race around in flashy cars - and deep lore involving the four goblin cartels, Undermine(d) is more like a mini expansion in itself rather than a patch for The War Within. 4. Sumo Group has sold Secret Mode, the *** publisher behind games including Still Wakes the Deep and A Little to the Left, for an undisclosed sum. Investment firm Emona Capital partnered with the studio’s current leadership, co-founder James Schall and VP of publishing Ed Blincoe, to lead the buyout. Schall and Blincoe will continue to run the company, which will operate as an independent publisher in partnership with Emona Capital, which previously invested in Relic Entertainment when it split from *****. 5. Capcom is promoting Monster Hunter Wildssenior producer Ryozo Tsujimoto to Chief Product Officer. The current CPO, Yoichi Egawa, is resigning, leaving Tsujimoto, who led development teams throughout much of the Monster Hunter series, to take his place. It's big news for the producer and a testament to just how much of a success Monster Hunter Wilds has been for the company. View the full article
  6. Carbalite Ore is one of the few resources you can find as you explore Monster Hunter Wilds, and what you need to use in several weapon and armor crafting recipes. Tracking this mineral down is all about consistency, and knowing the right location of where you have to go. You won’t find Carbalite Ore in every region, and it doesn’t always drop. You’ll have to search for it in specific areas. There are a few ways you can also increase the yield you receive whenever you hunt for it, giving you additional resources for any crafting project you want to set up with Gemma. Here’s what you need to know about how to find Carbalite Ore locations in Monster Hunter Wilds. View the full article

  9. A new game mode has been leaked for Marvel Rivals, turning the game's blend of chaotic yet balanced gameplay on its head. Named Clone Rumble, Marvel Rivals' upcoming new game mode allows players on the same team to pick the same characters, making for incredibly silly and chaotic matches. Imagining four, five, or even six Hulks on the same team should be enough to illustrate how crazy Marvel Rivals' new Clone Rumble could be, with the mode rumored to debut soon. View the full article

  11. Zach Barth, the namesake of game studio Zachtronics, tends to make a certain kind of game. Besides crafting the free browser game Infiniminer, which inspired the entire global Minecraft industry, Barth and his collaborators made SpaceChem, Infinifactory, TIS-100, Shenzen I/O, Opus Magnum, and Exapunks. Each one of them is some combination of puzzle game, light capitalism horror, and the most memorable introductory-level computer science, chemistry, or logistics class into which you unwittingly enrolled. Each game is its own thing, but they have a certain similar brain feel between them. It is summed up perhaps best by the Zachtronics team itself in a book: Zach-Like. Barth and his crew have made other kinds of games, including a forward-looking visual novel about AI, Eliza, and multiplayer card battler Nerts!. And Barth himself told PC Gamer that he hates "saying Zach-like." But fans of refining inputs, ordering operations, and working their way past constraints will thrill to learn that Zach is, in fact, back. Read full article Comments View the full article

  13. I want to be hyped for Assassin's Creed Shadows, but I have too many reservations to let that happen. Not only is it a game developed by Ubisoft, a company famous for making iterative entries in its long-running franchises that feel disappointingly uninspiring, but it's also part of a series that hasn't, in my opinion, had a solid entry in several years. There is also the problem of the game's dual protagonists, two characters that look incredibly interesting, but I fear will be robbed of any import thanks to AC Shadows' instance of letting you be either at any point. 14. Warriors: Abyssis set to receive a new update this month, along with a new playable character who has yet to be revealed. Shadow-dropped during PlayStation's State of Play in February, Warriors: Abyssis an isometric roguelike that's home to 100 playable characters from Koei Tecmo's Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors franchises. The game is commonly likened to 2022'****** indie roguelike Vampire Survivors and is a perfect fit for the Warriors franchise, as it sees players mow down waves of enemies in true Musou fashion. 15. The resources you have to find in Monster Hunter Wilds are scattered throughout the various regions you can explore. These are vital to crafting some of the best weapons and armor you need to take on the titantic monsters you’ll be fighting, and a difficult item to find is the Dragonbone Relic. Dragonbone Relic is a bone material only found in a handful of locations. Even if we help you narrow your search, it’ll be difficult for this item to drop because the chances are not in your favor. You’ll have to repeat the process of searching through piles of bone multiple times before you get enough to bring back to Gemma to craft your latest weapon. Still, we can help make adding this item to your smithy much easier. Here’s what you need to know about the Dragonbone Relic location in Monster Hunter Wilds. View the full article

  18. The Magic: The Gathering zombie card Graveborn Muse has climbed high in price over the past month or so, going from about $3 in late January to $19.96 today, according to the MTG Goldfish price tracker. Interestingly, foil copies of the card from 10th edition, and old border copies from Legions are slightly cheaper, costing $14 and $19 respectively. But all versions look to have ramped up in price over the same time *******. Read the rest of the story... 19. Since launch, PC players of Monster Hunter Wilds have been tinkering with the game, working to optimize their performance and settings. As it turns out, some even dug all the way into the config files and found a typo, which they subsequently tested to see if that could bump up their numbers. As discovered on Steam over the weekend (thanks, Kotaku), inside the config file of Monster Hunter Wilds, there's a line where "Resolution" is spelled "Resoltuion". According to the original Steam poster, fixing the misspelled word gave them a "perfomance boost," though they also said it made their processor temperature "jump significantly," from 50 degrees Celsius to 70. A Reddit thread spun up too, where the original poster claimed to get a mild performance bump from around 120 FPS with Frame Gen to around 140. "Again, maybe a coincidence but I have no idea," the OP said. "Needs more testing. I'm just happy to gain FPS somehow." Now, several repliers have commented with some words of caution and reason: adjusting this variable could be doing something completely different. "Renaming could just be setting whatever it is to a default which is lower than whatever it was, hence the perfomance increase," one Reddit commenter said. Another user said it's a placebo. The executable contains the same typo, so it actually refers to a specific node. "By 'fixing' the typo, that makes the game not find this one specific config key/value, so perhaps [its] defaulting to some other value," the responder said. There are, of course, posts disputing the placebo effect. Without official confirmation from Capcom, this does seem like a red herring. And it's best to advise caution when diving into the config files or other parts of the critical game files. Players' avid search for what fixing the typo does, however, indicates the fervor with which Monster Hunter Wilds players are hunting for performance bumps. The PC optimization has been a point of discussion for Monster Hunter Wilds players, up to the point that even social posts about an upcoming fix for a progression-breaking bug are garnering responses asking for optimization fixes. PC players continue to flood into Monster Hunter Wilds though, as Capcom's latest has been a record-breaking entry for both the series and the Steam storefront. With this much popularity, hopefully we see some fine-tuning in the weeks and months ahead, typo or not. A title update for Monster Hunter Wilds is expected in April, which is due to add a new endgame area to gather, as well as more monster hunting action for players to embark on. IGN’s Monster Hunter Wilds review returned an 8/10. We said: “Monster Hunter Wilds continues to smooth off the rougher corners of the series in smart ways, making for some extremely fun fights but also lacking any real challenge.” Eric is a freelance writer for IGN. 21. A talented group of fans has created an updated PC port of Sonic Unleashed, potentially paving the way for more upscaled versions of old Xbox 360 titles. Sonic Unleashed was released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Wii in late 2008, with a PS3 version launching shortly afterward. It famously saw Sonic transform into a werewolf-like “Werehog” as he raced to gather the Chaos Emeralds and restore the shattered world after another one of Dr. Eggman’s schemes goes awry. As a result, Sonic Unleashedsplit its gameplay into day and night sections, with the regular Sonic speeding through the former and the Werehog smashing his way across the latter. 23. Gracium might be one of the first elusive resources you’ll find in Monster Hunter Wilds. This mining ore only spawns in one biome, but finding it isn’t entirely difficult—though it does rely on some RNG. In most cases, Gracium is required to advance in the Ore tree, which is an excellent stepping stone for better gear. The third tier of the Iron weapons can give you a good bump in damage, and you may even revisit this tree later as you cross into the upper echelons of the high rank. View the full article
