Although I am excited about the announcement of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, I have to admit that I’m even more excited about what it could mean for the franchise going forward. I did enjoy playing multiplayer in the earlier installments of the franchise when they originally came out, but they never quite hooked me beyond the occasional play session at a friend’s house. It wasn’t until one of the later games that I felt the need to buy my own copy and play through the entire game. View the full article

Marvel Rivals players have found an important setting which will make your life easier during the hectic teamfights, but plenty of players don’t even know it exists. In a Reddit discussion, Marvel Rivals players are asking other fans to turn on their Allied Health Bar option, which causes all the allies in your team to showcase their health bar at all times. “You’re literally blind without this setting,” the player said. Those who don’t use this setting on characters like Magneto are making a crucial mistake, as they might be giving their shields to healthy enemies rather than allies who could benefit from it the most. Gore Magala Feelers+ are rare items you can farm from Gore Magala in Monster Hunter Wilds, but only if you break certain parts of the monster's body. Collecting this important part en masse is tricky, as you have to target sections of Gore Magala during an already intense battle. It's no secret that gaming in this modern era is expensive. The likes of a PS5, Xbox Series X|S or PC hardware can set you back a pretty penny. So what if you rented your console instead? Well, if you're a Sony fan living in the ***, you can do just that. Over on the PlayStation website, you can now choose to rent a PS5 on a monthly basis rather than buying the system outright. There are several options to choose from, whether you want to lease a Pro console for 36 months or the Digital Edition for one year. Image via PlayStation The cheapest I can see is a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Slim, which starts at £10.99 a month (for comparison, Spotify Premium is £11.99, while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is £14.99). This assumes a 36-month rental, and the price per month will be more if you choose a shorter lease, or if you just want it on a rolling basis (£21.95). Is it cheaper than just buying a PS5? It's not just consoles, either. PlayStation will also let you rent accessories, such as a DuelSense Edge controller and the VR2 headset. You can even lease out a PlayStation Portal. But is it all worth it? Let's say you opt for the cheapest option in terms of a full console. At £10.99 a month over a 36-month *******, you'd be paying a total of £395.64. To buy a PS5 Digital Edition Slim direct from Sony would set you back £389, so renting isn't really that much more expensive than just purchasing one. It's just a question of whether you can commit to the monthly payments for the next three years. But even then, it's possible to cancel your order/lease, though there are some provisos, naturally. According to the FAQ, it's free to cancel your PS5 so long as you do it within the first 14 days. After that, you can still back out of the agreement, but "an early cancellation charge may apply if you cancel before 18 months," so that's something to take into account. Do read through the Raylo terms and conditions (as well as the rest of the FAQ) if you decide to rent a console or accessory. The post In the *** and can’t afford a PS5? Sony will now let you rent one appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
Businesses and Hobbies is the latest expansion for The Sims 4, bringing a whole new style of gameplay for those who want to earn Simoleons doing something they love with their very own small business. As in real life, you can’t create a small business in Businesses and Hobbies before you figure out what you want the business to do or offer. Do you want to open up a tattoo studio, or perhaps sell pottery, two of the new features of the latest expansion? Or do you want to do something more familiar, such as selling art or even open up a café? When you open up a small business, you’ll be able to select five different activities that can take place on the business premises. These activities dictate the type of business you have, and you can mix and match them to your heart's content to come up with a truly unique business that’s personal to you. The activities you have available to you will depend on what other expansions and packs you own, which can get pretty confusing if you’ve got all the packs and are unsure what comes from where. The Last of Us is easily one of Naughty Dog's most successful franchises to date. With two critically-acclaimed games and a highly popular TV adaptation under its wing, it would be easy to assume that Naughty Dog would take advantage of this success and ensure the series' longevity. However, hopes for a continuation of the gaming series were seemingly laid to rest this week, as Naughty Dog's studio head Neil Druckmann suggested that TLOU Part 3 might not be happening. At some level, Fallout has always been part strategy game. The 1997 original relies on turn-based combat and close resource management. Fallout Tactics trades the RPG structure for something closer to XCOM. And then you have Fallout 4's settlement construction and the pseudo city building in Fallout Shelter. Combining Frostpunk's hard-biting, survivalist aesthetic with the Fallout series' various nods towards strategy and 4X, in combination, Endzone and Endzone 2 represent two of the most underrated, underplayed games in the genre. With the sequel nearing its full release, PCGamesN has 30 Endzone 1 Steam keys, and 30 for Endzone 2 to give away right now. Read the rest of the story... There have been many attempts to reboot the RTS recently, ranging from throwbacks like the recent Age Of Mythology: Retold to splicey novelties such as Battle Aces. I’m not sure any have managed it, but I’m always glad to see fresh blood spilled in the house of Westwood. Which brings us to Project Citadel, a new space-me-do from Last Keep, a studio founded by former staff of Stranger Things devs BonusXP and Age Of Empires outfit Ensemble. It pitches you against an alien empire, and blends squad mechanics redolent of Halo Wars with a roguelike format that aims to support shorter play sessions, while still supposedly allowing for vintage strategy gambits like booming and rushing. Hazelight and EA have come together again to continue their efforts to bring ******* and better games to players with their next co-op adventure, Split Fiction. Similar to Hazelight’s award-winning It Takes Two, Split Fiction is a co-op adventure that cannot be played alone, as the studio has made it clear that one of its main goals is to bring players back to how games are played best: with friends. While it’s not always a popular decision, Hazelight goes above and beyond to ensure that this decision does not exclude anyone from enjoying the game. View the full article
If you’ve been a part of The Sims 4 community for a little while, then you’ve likely heard of the Rags to Riches Challenge created by community favorite James Turner. Start with nothing and build up to becoming wealthy, it’s a pretty simple concept. With the addition of the Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack for The Sims 4, James has done what he does best and has created a new challenge. It’s not official yet, at least not by the standards of the rules being uploaded to his website, but he’s currently working his way through his own playthrough, and I’ve absorbed all the details. Rags to Businesses rules in The Sims 4 Screenshot by Destructoid If you’re familiar with the Rags to Riches challenge rules, then you can pretty much guess how to complete this challenge, but there are a couple of twists that are special to this variation of the challenge: Create your sim, buy a plot, then reduce your money to 0Use the “testingcheats true” command, then “money 0” Use the world around you to make money by fishing, digging, or craftingUse benches to sleep, public places to wash, and otherwise surviveYou can only sell items that you find on the Selling Tables in Nordhaven, shown in the image above, and selling directly from your inventory is not allowedSlowly build up your plot with the things you need to sustain your business As of yet, there is no official end point to this challenge, so you’re free to choose when you feel like you’ve achieved everything that you want to achieve. Maybe it can be when your business reaches five-stars, or perhaps you need to earn 100,000 Simoleons through your business. How to complete the Rags to Businesses challenge in The Sims 4 Screenshot by Destructoid When attempting this challenge, there are a couple of key things to bear in mind: You need 750 Simoleons to register your small business and start tradingEvery time you open your business for the day, you’ll need to pay 75 Simoleons How you go about completing the challenge depends on where you set up shop, what you want your shop to do, and how quickly you want to complete the challenge. If you set up shop in Nordhaven itself, you could focus on Pottery as James has in his playthrough. This would allow you to use the Pottery Wheels at the museum in the north of the town to craft Pottery to sell. Everything you want to make will cost money (20 Simoleons minimum), so you’ll need to juggle your money to make sure you can afford to open the next day and sell what you’ve made. Similarly, you’ll need to pay attention to how much items cost that can help you complete the challenge. Aside from the items you need to simply survive, such as a bed and toilet, you’ll need to buy equipment such as a Pottery Wheel and Kiln to sustain your business. It’s all about juggling, but you’ll get there. If you want to spice up your gameplay, check out our list of challenges to really turn up the heat. A large part of making your small business in The Sims 4 successful, at least in the Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack, is increasing your renown to unlock perk points. Depending on your level and alignment, you can gain perks ranging from a digital tip jar to guaranteeing customer satisfaction. How to raise Business Renown in The Sims 4 Businesses and Hobbies You'll naturally gain renown over time as you open your business, interact with your customers, and gain positive reviews. Here are some factors that can influence your customer experience and reviews: Price modifierAvailable business activitiesYour interactions with customersQuality of items and services soldQuality and cleanliness of your lot Much like in the real world, your customers want affordable products and services in a clean, nice-looking shop. They also don't want you and your employees to be rude or ignore them. You'll naturally gain positive reviews over time as long as you treat your customers well, have a clean shop, and provide the items or services they're looking for. You can also change your Price Modifier through the Small Business Settings menu to initiate a ***** if you need a small boost. Screenshot by Destructoid From here, it's a matter of time and dedication. Opening your store for one day usually won't be enough to raise your renown to the next level. It can take dozens or even hundreds of in-game hours before you start climbing the ranks, especially if you have a new household that's building their skills and wealth from scratch. Once you close your business for the day, check out the reviews to see what your customers are saying. If they think your prices are too high, you may need to lower your price modifier slightly. Similarly, if they like your prices but think your lot is dirty, clean up any messy dishes, trash piles, or water puddles that might be present before opening again. Don't worry, though; as you get more money, you can hire employees who handle this. All Small Business perks in The Sims 4 The main benefit of raising your small business' renown is gaining perk points for upgrading your company.
