  3. The Chaos Dwarfs are one of the most sinister and cruel races in the entire Warhammer Old World, ruling an empire of infernal machinery and lightless mines with a barbed lash and the borrowed power of a fallen god. So when I saw these utterly adorable little clay sculpted figures, I had to ask their creator, the clay sculptor Clay_Junky, what spirit of darkness (or cuteness) had possessed him to make them. 4. Recent information from the beta has revealed that Genshin Impact could be setting up a system for weapon skins in Version 5.7, potentially tying it to the new endgame. With over a hundred playable characters in Version 5.7, Genshin Impact continues to grow its diverse roster. The latest additions are Ifa and Escoffier, while Dahlia and Skirk are set to join the cast in the upcoming update. Many players have asked HoYoverse to add more character skins on a yearly basis, but up until very recently, the developers have shied away from expanding the level of cosmetics offered by Genshin Impact. It'll give you the ability to turn anything you've already crafted back into its resources, which is incredibly valuable if you're constantly making things in surplus or need specific materials you're struggling to find. With that said, it's a bit of a slog to unlock the quest that grants you access to it... Read more.View the full article
  7. Palworld, oh, how I've missed you. Blasting onto the scene in January of last year, topping the charts and upsetting parents everywhere, Pocketpair's colossal survival game has been quiet as of late, possibly a result of ongoing legal troubles with Nintendo. Several of Palworld's game mechanics have been compared to the Switch maker's classic creature catcher, Pokemon, with various models also allegedly plagiarized from Nintendo's game. While aspects and mechanics of Palworld have already been removed or adjusted in response to the lawsuit, Pocketpair has now confirmed that more "disappointing" changes are on the way. 12. Take the maps, skins, and overall balance and feel of classic Counter-Strike and remake it all using the tech that powers CSGO. That was the dream of Classic Offensive, a long-running mod project that first started life back in 2017. But now, eight years after development began, according to its creators, Classic Offensive has been shut down by Valve. The Half-Life and Left 4 Dead developer has seemingly sent a cease and desist letter to the Classic Offensive team, preventing further builds of the unofficial remake from being released on all other modding platforms. 13. When you think of the greatest space games, it's easy to default to scale. The thousands of planets of Starfield, the infinite galaxies of No Man's Sky, the swirling systems of Eve Online, and the sheer expanse of Elite Dangerous. Outer Wilds is different. "Attacking is the most consistent element of Elden Ring Nightreign’s gameplay," says director Junya Ishizaki in a new PlayStation blog, explaining the choice to have players revive each other by hitting wounded mates with swords - a famously crucial tenet of the hippocratic oath. We also found it quite amusing (laughs)." Read more View the full article
  17. Fire Force Reignition has a lot of systems, and one of those is the Clan system. A lot of new players don't understand the actual benefit of being in a Clan because, frankly, the game does a terrible job of explaining it, and they don't seem to do anything. Well, some, but not all, clans give you certain benefits, and being in a particular Clan can actually give you an advantage. So much so that we decided to give you a Complete Fire Force Reignition Clans Tier List. Table of contentsHow Clans Work in Fire Force ReignitionFire Force Online Clan Tier ListHow Clans Work in Fire Force Reignition Screenshot by Destructoid As soon as you start playing Fire Force Reignition, the game will randomly assign you to one of the clans. A Clan is, essentially, your last name. You can see which Clan you belong to when you look at the leaderboard. At first, you won't really understand what the benefit is. It's just a name, right? Well, yes and no. Most Clans in the game are, indeed, just names, but certain clans can give you passive buffs, and that's where Rare and Legendary Clans come in. The game randomly rolls a clan for you, and chances are, you're going to end up in a clan with no benefits. Here are the roll rates for all the clans: Common Clans: 84% Rare Clans : 15% Legendary Clans : 1% Screenshot by Destructoid As you can tell, in most cases, you'll end up in a Common Clan. Of course, the game is more than happy to let you reroll your clan... for a price (250 Robux). You can also sometimes get Clan rerolls by using codes. If you manage to roll a Rare or a Legendary Clan, you can get a buff that will apply to you as long as you keep your Clan's last name. Fire Force Online Clan Tier List Obviously, we aren't going to list every single Clan in the game (because Common ones don't give you any benefits), so this tier list is only going to include Rare and Legendary Clans along with their benefits. TierClan NameRarityBuff SS Dragon Legendary Your M1 and Heavy attacks do more damage. Always useful.SBurns Legendary You overheat slower, and your stamina regenerates faster. Super helpful if you find yourself overheating.SObi Legendary Path of Death and Steeled for Death mode durations are increased. Good luck rolling for the best clan in Fire Force Reignition. If you're in the mood to play a similar game, check out GHOUL://RE for a very similar experience, which uses the same combat style. 19. Microsoft has secured another victory over the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in its quest to secure Activision Blizzard. The FTC’s appeal to block Microsoft’s $69 billion deal to acquire the company behind Call of Duty was denied by San Francisco’s 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals today, further cementing a purchase that was originally announced in late 2022 (via Reuters). It was a move decided by a three-judge panel that brought an end to the FTC’s questioning of the July 2023 decision to allow Microsoft to finalize its purchase. Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard has faced scrutiny from across the board for more than three years. Select U.S. Senators were among the first to oppose the transaction, bringing up concerns of the ongoing consolidation of the tech industry as the Xbox maker brought in more major companies under its wing. As competitors and gamers alike grew concerned an acquisition meant popular franchises like Call of Duty would no longer launch on competing platforms, Microsoft confirmed it had no interest in barring certain franchises behind lengthy exclusivity periods. While challenges continued to arise throughout 2023, Microsoft was finally able to complete its purchase of Activision Blizzard in October of that same year. The FTC’s appeal could have presented a late roadblock to continuing operations as normal, and now that its efforts have failed, it seems its pursuit is finally over.
