I’ve been playing Elder Scrolls games since the days of Morrowind, and when Oblivion was first released, I dove straight in. However, it’s taken until The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered for me to completely wrap my head around skills and attributes, just in time for a new skill and leveling system. With so many people playing Oblivion now for the first time, understanding the difference between the two and how they interact is as important as ever. View the full article
If you're looking for an Anker power bank that can handle the demands of power hungry electronics like the Steam Deck or ROG Ally X, or even a laptop, Woot! is offering an outstanding deal right now. You can pick up an Anker PowerCore 737 24,000mAh Power Bank with 140W of Power Delivery for just $79.99. Amazon Prime members get free shipping, otherwise pay an extra $6. I have owned this exact power bank for a few years now and highly recommend it; it has been on multiple flights and road trips and is still good as new. Woot is a legitimate marketplace (it is owned by Amazon). Anker 737 24,000mAh 140W Power Bank for $79.99 The Anker 737 is one of our favorite Steam Deck chargers. This is a relatively hefty power bank, measuring 4.6"x2.2"x2" and weighing in at 1.4lbs. It's something you'd put in your travel bag or backpack instead of your pocket. It's equipped with two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port. The USB Type-C ports support a maximum of 140W of power delivery. That means a single port could deliver 140W, or both ports will deliver a combination of 140W depending on which devices are plugged in (for example, 70W + 70W or 100W + 40W). In terms of gaming handhelds, the Steam Deck supports up to 38W of charging, the Asus ROG Ally up to 65W, the Asus ROG Ally X up to 100W, and the Nintendo Switch up to 18W. That means the Anker Prime can easily charge all three gaming handhelds – even the ROG Ally X – at their maximum rate; you'll even be able to play and charge simultaneously. A 20,000mAh battery equates to a 74Whr capacity. An 80% power efficiency rating (which is about standard for power banks) gives you about 59Whr of available charge. That means this power bank will charge a Steam Deck (40Whr) or Asus ROG Ally (40Whr) from empty to completely full 1.5 times, an Asus ROG Ally X (80Whr) 0.75 times, and a Nintendo Switch (16Whr) about 3.7 times. You can see here why we think a 20,000mAh capacity should be the bare minimum for more power hungry gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally (and especially the Ally X). The Anker 737 is TSA-approved TSA states that power banks must be under 100Whr in capacity for carry-on (check-in is not allowed under any circumstances). This Anker Prime is safely under that at 74Whr. You might get checked simply because the Anker 737 is a chunky power bank, but you shouldn't have any problems getting it cleared. I've gone through plenty of airport checkpoints and have only been checked once – at Tokyo NRT – and cleared without a problem. Why Should You Trust IGN's Deals Team? Paradox Interactive has announced that its next grand strategy game is Europa Universalis 5, following a tease posted last week. The publisher behind titles such as Cities: Skylines, Crusader Kings, and Stellaris pulled back the curtain on its latest continuation with a sweeping cinematic trailer today. It’s being developed by the Barcelona, Spain-based Paradox Tinto, the same team that’s aided in the development of Europa Universalis 4 for the last few years. While there’s no release date yet, the Europa Universalis 5 Steam page is already online. “Challenge your strategic skills over 500 years of history, in Europa Universalis 5, the latest version of the celebrated grand strategy game,” a description shared by Paradox says. “Master the arts of war, trade, diplomacy, and government in the largest and most detailed Europa Universalis game ever. Guide the destiny of any of hundreds of nations and societies in a simulated living world of unparalleled depth and complexity.” Europa Universalis 5 has been in development at Paradox Tinto for more than five years, with the team saying it’s made the experience “with the devoted Paradox fan in mind.” The team has taken “over a year of public discussion” into consideration, adding that the public’s voice has played an important part in what it calls “the largest and most detailed Europa Universalis game ever made.” Europa Universalis 5’s campaign begins at the dawn of the Hundred Years’ War in 1337. As players lead their people through the major moments in history set to follow, they’ll have an army of new features to enjoy. Highlights from today’s reveal include the promise of a new and larger map that takes advantage of accurate map projection with hundreds of different societies. Paradox says it features a population-based system this time around, as well as upgraded production and trade systems that will see players carving out a place for themselves by building farms, plantations, and factories or trading with neighboring areas. It’s all in the name of creating a strategy experience that gives players the freedom to build and run their nation the way they see fit. It was teased to be a mysterious and “ambitious” project from the Paradox team last week, though fans had largely figured out what was in store beforehand. “Europa Universalis 5 builds on the franchise’s core concept of developing and advancing nations from around a deeply researched historical world,” the description continues, “adding more detailed diplomacy, a more sophisticated economic model, a revised military system, and greater logistical depth that will challenge even the most experienced strategy gamers.” Europa Universalis 5 is currently set to launch for PC at an unspecified time in the future. Stardeus is an ambitious space game that came out back in 2022, combining the management design and strategy focus of projects like Rimworld, FTL, Factorio, and Stellaris into something new. Destiny 2's new era begins in 2025 with the Year of Prophecy, which begins the Fate Saga of the franchise after the Light and Darkness Saga ended with The Final Shape expansion. As part of Year of Prophecy, two main expansions will launch, called The Edge of Fate and Renegades. With the first one just around the corner, we know a bit about what to expect, including a new destination called Kepler, a new raid shortly after launch, and an all-new story that pushes the lore of the world in new directions. Basically, Destiny 2 isn't going anywhere any time soon, especially with two more expansions confirmed for 2026, called Shattered Cycle and The Alchemist. While the Light and Darkness Saga has ended, it seems as though the world of the Destiny franchise may just be getting started. For now, though, here's what we know about when you can get your hands on D2's next big DLCs. Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy release dates Image via Bungie There are several key dates to keep in mind when it comes to Destiny 2 in 2025, with even more dates to be revealed. But here are some big ones for you to mark on your calendar for this year. Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate countdown Image via Bungie The newest expansion for Destiny 2, The Edge of Fate, is due to launch on July 15, 2025. If it's like other expansions, there will be some server downtime beforehand, and the game should be playable again starting at around 11am CT on that day. Here's a countdown that ends exactly on July 15 at 11am CT: [hurrytimer id="1064693"] The Edge of Fate seems to deal with time travel, including relics of the past and a mysterious new character named Lodai. Guardians must head to the edge of the Sol system to find Kepler, the new location, and unravel the mysteries within. The new expansion will add new story missions, new locations to visit, new missions, new weapons and gear, a new Fallen enemy that can fly, a new raid launching on July 29, and more. Launch day is just the beginning for the expansion, with a large-scale update named Ash & Iron due to come out on Sept. 2, boasting new and reprised activities, new sandbox meta, new events, new modifiers and challenges, and new gear and artifact mods. But that's not the last DLC coming for Destiny 2 in 2025. Oh no, we're just getting started, and up next we will go to a galaxy far, far away. Destiny 2: Renegades countdown Image via Bungie The second expansion for Destiny 2 in 2025 is called Renegades, and it draws heavy inspiration from Star Wars. Characters can be seen holding Star Wars-like blasters and lightsabers, but the story will be true to Destiny's lore and world, and is an official partnership between Bungie and Lucasfilm Games. Destiny 2: Renegades is scheduled to launch on Dec. 2, 2025 at around 11am CT. Here's a countdown until then: [hurrytimer id="1064695"] Renegades will include a new dungeon, new story, new missions, new weapons, gear, and a bunch more when it drops to close out 2025, and another new year of Destiny 2 can begin again when the DLC's major update Shadow & Order arrives on March 3, 2026. This article will be updated with more information whenever it becomes available. The post Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate release date and countdown appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article

AMD is reportedly working on a way to bring its acclaimed FSR 4 upscaling tech to its older GPUs, such as the Radeon RX 7900 range. FSR 4 is currently exclusive to GPUs based on the RDNA 4 architecture, such as the AMD Radeon RX 9070, and it makes games look massively better than with older versions of FSR, thanks to its use of AI. It isn't just the new AMD GPUs that contain AI hardware, though. Several of the best graphics card models from its older RDNA 3 lineup also contain matrix cores, which are analogous to Nvidia's Tensor cores, even if they're not as powerful. As I found in my AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT review, FSR 4 is a substantial upgrade over FSR 3, resulting in a sharp image with hardly any of the ghosting, blurriness, and horrible digital noise that's clearly visible in games when you use previous versions of FSR. It seems like rumors pointing to Half-Life 3's existence are reaching a new fever pitch lately, but, as has been the case for more than a decade now, it's probably better to focus your attention on games in the series that actually exist until an actual launch date is announced. For anyone looking for newer versions of those games, there have been projects like the series' VR iteration, Half-Life: Alyx, the first game's remaster as ****** Mesa, and, most recently, a demo section of Half-Life 2 remastered under the title of Half-Life 2 RTX. The latter of these options, HL2 RTX, was fairly underwhelming when it came out in March, but now, as the result of a new update, one of its biggest problems has just been fixed. Pre-farming Skirk’s materials in Genshin Impact is a great way of ensuring that you can instantly level up the character, going through all her Ascension stages, and upgrading all her Talents to the maximum level. Skirk is an important character in the game’s lore, as she is not only a legendary swordswoman who is capable of traversing the Abyss and who took on Tartaglia as her pupil during his time there, but also a disciple of Surtalogi. Skirk’s release in Genshin Impact 5.7 has yet to be confirmed by developer HoYoverse, but she is already featured in the beta tests. View the full article

While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an incredible experience overall, things start to get a little out of balance in Act 3. Developer Sandfall Interactive is fully aware of one specific skill that has completely broken the game more than they wanted it to, and an official nerf is already on its way in the game's first major update. This is a much-needed fix in my view, but it's only the first step needed to balance the endgame and make it a little less broken. View the full article

Revenge of the Savage Planet has a robust suite of multiplayer features. In that way, it's a lot like its predecessor, Journey to the Savage Planet, which allowed two players to run through the campaign at the same time. Framed as a clone of player one, the second player would receive all the same upgrades, and can even revive each other when downed. On the whole, multiplayer makes Journey to the Savage Planet a little easier, and a lot more fun, too. View the full article
