How To Find, Tame, Ride, And Breed Minecraft Horses
Let’s face it, once you get an Elytra in Minecraft you won’t need four-legged companions to quickly traverse the map anymore, but that’s tens of hours into your adventure unless you’re speedrunning. Before then, Minecraft horses are invaluable, as they provide a faster way of traveling than sprinting and don’t use as much of your nutrition. Horses can be found in the wild, tamed, bred, and can even wear armor. They’ve also got individual statistics, so if you want to put a few hours into breeding the perfect horse, we’ve got all you need to know.
Where to find horses
Horses usually spawn in plains or savanna biomes in herds of between two and six. They can also be found in stables and pens in villages across any biome. They won’t spawn anywhere with a light level of less than nine in Java or seven in Bedrock.
Minecraft horses come in several different colors
There are several variations of horses, ranging in color and pattern, and they can spawn as an adult or a foal. They come in white, buckskin, flaxen chestnut, bay, ******, and dapple gray. Combined with the patterns available, there are 35 possible horse combinations to suit your preference.
How to tame horses
Once you’ve found the horse you want to bring back to your base, just try to mount it several times until it accepts you. Horses have a temper level between 0 and 100. When you first mount the horse, a random threshold between 0 and 99 is chosen. If the temper exceeds the threshold, the horse is tame. If it does not, you will be bucked off and the temper is increased by five.
Repeatedly mount a horse to tame it
While you will eventually be able to mount the horse and hearts appear, meaning it’s tamed, you can’t control its direction unless it’s wearing a saddle.
How to breed horses
With a herd of horses back at your base, you’ll want to know how to breed them. You won’t be able to breed horses unless they’re tame, so ensure you’ve done this first. Then, feed each of the parent horses golden apples or golden carrots until the hearts appear around it again.
Feed horses to breed them

How to heal horses
If your horse becomes injured, you can feed it to heal it. Some food items are more effective at restoring hearts than others:
Sugar – 1 heart
Wheat – 2 hearts
Apple – 3 hearts
Golden carrot – 4 hearts
Golden apple – 10 hearts
Hay bale – 20 hearts
Horse armor
Horses can be equipped with armor made of leather, iron, gold, or diamond. Unlike yourself, horses can’t wear Netherite armor. You can only craft leather armor, the other types must be found by looting chests in world structures.

Minecraft horse statistics
All horses have statistics that vary from one horse to the next–health, maximum movement speed, and jump height. These statistics are determined when the horse is born or spawned, and will not be affected by food. There is no way to display a horse’s statistics, and if you want to tell what they are roughly you will have to test the horse.
Horses have varying jump strengths
Since a horse’s statistics are determined when it is born or spawned, you can test your horses to find the strongest attributes for each statistic and then breed them. For example, if one horse is faster than another, but the other can jump higher, breeding the two will produce a foal that is fast and can jump high. Breeding this foal with a third horse with excellent health points will produce an all-around top-quality horse.
Health
A horse’s health ranges from 15 to 30 hearts. The displayed hearts are health divided by two and then rounded down. A horse with an odd number of health points does not show the last half of a heart. If a horse loses half a heart from an unarmed melee attack, it has an even number of health points. If it doesn’t, its health is an odd number.
Movement speed
A horse’s movement speed ranges from 0.1125-0.3375. If you consider that a player’s normal walking speed is 0.1, you can already see that horse riding is faster than walking. The speed can be adjusted by status effects, but there is no way to tell the exact movement speed of a horse.
Jump strength
Similarly, a horse’s jump strength ranges from 0.4-1.0, where a jump strength of 1.0 is enough to clear 5.25 blocks, and the lowest jump strength is just over one block. Try stacking one block next to five blocks high to see the difference in potential horse jump strength. To jump while riding a saddled horse, tap the space bar. Hold the space bar to charge the jump and get the maximum jump height. This is especially helpful for scaling steep mountains.

While horses have many uses, if they do happen to pass away while in your care (hopefully not) then they will drop up to two leather, up to three experience points, and any armor they’re equipped with.

Spirited fightback from Dynamos sees them win top of the table clash against Dalyellup
Bunbury Dynamos pulled off an extraordinary comeback at the weekend, fighting back from two goals down to beat Dalyellup Park Rangers 3-2 in a heated, top of the table clash at Forrest Park.
Going into the game, both sides were undefeated and sitting in first and second place on the ladder respectively — but a spirited performance from Dynamos has seen them open up a nine-point lead over their title rivals.
The match was very much a game of two halves, with Dalyellup dominant in the first and Dynamos rallying in the second.
Rangers got off to a fast start when centre-half Oliver Mcgee rose from a corner and nodded in from close range to make it 1-0 in the ninth minute.
Bunbury thought they had equalised through star turn Jeremy Stevens a few minutes later, but were denied by the offside flag.

Dynamos were then hit with a classic soccer punch, when Dalyellup’s own star striker Kosta Stavrou latched onto a long ball over the top, rounded the Dynamos’ keeper and ****** rolled home to make it 2-0 in the 29th minute.
With the air sucked from the home side, it appeared Dalyellup were going to cruise to an impressive victory.
But, on the stroke of half-time, speedster Blake Smaniotto broke down the right flank and dinked a ball into Josh Atherton, who pulled one back for Dynamos with a looping header into the far corner.

Energised by the goal, the second half was one-way traffic for Dynamos — who barraged Dalyellup with raid upon raid into the penalty area.
Rangers eventually caved from the pressure, conceding a penalty in the 66th minute, which also saw Mcgee dismissed for a second yellow card.
Up stepped Stevens who equalised for Dynamos — setting up “long” last half hour for Dalyellup, who were clinging on for a point.

With the numerical disadvantage, Rangers sat in numbers behind the ball, leaving Stavrou isolated up front without support.
Their only attacking threat came from set pieces — where they nearly nicked it towards the end.
But ultimately Dynamo’s pressure and momentum proved too much, when Jakub Vychytil broke away on a counter-attack and fired into the net, sending the Dynamos’ faithful into jubilation.
The final whistle sounded to complete Dynamos’ resilient comeback, which sees them boast a 6-0 record from the first six matches.
The result leaves Dalyellup nine points behind in second, but with two games in hand.

After years of anticipation, Doom: The Dark Ages is finally out. It’s the latest entry in id Software’s reboot trilogy, which has been loved by players since its launch in 2016. So far, critics have praised the game and even declared it a GOTY 2025 contender.
However, the early success doesn’t mean that The Dark Ages is a smash hit among gamers. It’s been struggling compared to the previous trilogies on Steam, and the future doesn’t look bright unless id Software brings some major changes.
Xbox Games Pass is badly hurting Doom: The Dark Ages
If you take a look at the SteamDB numbers for Doom: The Dark Ages, there’s no doubt it has a troublesome launch. The game saw a peak player count of just 31,470 players during its launch weekend. That might be a big number for some games, but let’s not forget that Doom Eternal hit a peak of 104,8491 players during the same time.
What’s worse is that The Dark Ages is also trailing behind the 2016 reboot by about 13,000 players. Considering all the hype before the release of the title, these figures are quite shocking. However, the weak launch is due to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass.
The Dark Ages is a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass. Previous entries in the reboot franchise hadn’t received the same treatment. The fact that players can pay a small amount for the subscription service and access the game is the reason why there’s a drop in player numbers on Steam.
The prequel takes a different approach from the other entries in the franchise. The Dark Ages tends to focus more on melee combat and a slower pace compared to the absurdity of Eternals. Clearly, that might not have hit the mark for many in the community, and they’ve chosen to skip the game.

Still, though, id Software can steer the ship around with multiple updates and DLCs for the game. The developers haven’t revealed a release date, but The Dark Ages’ Premium Edition promises access to campaign DLC. Id Software is clearly working on something, but players need to be patient.

While The Dark Ages isn’t having the best time when it comes to player numbers, the title has elevated gameplay mechanics. One of the many clever things done by id Software is the implementation of the health orbs, which are dropped by enemies when players’ health is low.
This encourages players to push for aggressive combat rather than hiding. Instead of punishing low health with death, the developers are rewarding boldness in fights.
Health drops aren’t new to the series, but The Dark Ages bring the most polished and impactful feature implementation.
It’s a design choice that maintains the classic Doom gameplay, adding a small twist to intensify the fights. Other franchises such as Halo, God of War, and Gears of War could also take note of it and reward players who fight harder in deadly situations.

A headless alligator is baffling a Florida community after the reptile washed up on its shores.
Those who live along the banks of a southeast canal in Cape Coral are used to a peaceful day-to-day life, with the exception of an odd dolphin or stingray sighting. But when Gloria Baenen smelled an overwhelmingly fishy odor near her pontoon boat, she stumbled upon an alligator that had both its head and tail missing, per CBS News.
“I said, well, someone said there was a gator but no head,” Baenen told the outlet. “When I went to check, I found it belly-up, floating near the boat.”

The reptile floated away shortly after it was spotted. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) led a search for the alligator’s body, starting in the nearby canals before enlisting the help of a search team and scent dogs.
The alligator’s body had decomposed, CBS reported, and was found in shallow water. The FWC team moved the reptile’s remains from the shallow body to a deeper one to allow the natural decomposition process to progress.

FWC speculated the gator may have gotten caught underneath a pontoon boat, while Baenen suggested the alligator’s demise could be due to poachers. Regardless, the reptile’s death is under investigation, per CBS.
“I hope that whoever did it, if it was poached, they get caught,” Baenen said. “That’s not a good thing.”

3 Companies That Just Raised Dividends: 2 to Buy, 1 to Avoid
In volatile markets, investors often seek the relative safety of dividend stocks. While stock prices can go up and down, there’s something to be said for owning a stock that pays you to own it. It’s even better when the company has a history of consistently raising its dividend.
Over time, the compounding effect of rising dividends combined with rising stock prices increases an investor’s total return. Investors who take a buy-and-hold approach to their stocks may not pay much attention to a stock’s short-term outlook.
But if you’re trying to find the right time to start a position, or add to an existing one, it’s important to consider more than just a stock’s dividend.
This article features three companies that recently announced dividend increases. Two of them offer investors a solid buying opportunity, and one, though it looks good right now, may offer a better entry point later this year.
1. Inevitability Supports Buying Chesapeake Stock
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation (NYSE:) is a diversified energy delivery company that distributes , propane, and electricity.
The company raised its dividend by approximately 7% in early May. That makes it 21 consecutive years of dividend increases, and with a payout ratio of around 43% based on next year’s estimates, future growth is likely.
However, what makes Chesapeake Utilities a Buy is the outlook for growth.
Natural gas prices are below the elevated levels of 2022 but continue to show strength. The opportunity is that natural gas prices are likely to continue moving higher as demand increases, specifically due to the demand for data centers.
CPK stock is trading within about 5% of its consensus price target of $126.50.
However, Wells Fargo & Co. recently increased its price target from $126 to $136. That would take the stock above its recent highs in April.
2. Let Uncertainty Be Your Friend with RTX Stock
Aerospace stocks have posted weaker-than-expected earnings due to concerns over tariffs and the defense budget. However, Rtx Corp (NYSE:) was among the sector’s best.
The company beat on the top and bottom lines and raised its dividend nearly 8% (7.94%).
President Trump is talking about peace in the Middle East, which may have some investors concerned about the future of defense stocks.
However, RTX is all about the future of defense (i.e., drones and other unmanned equipment), which puts the company at the center of the new defense industry.
Analysts have a consensus Buy rating on RTX stock with a price target of $159.82.
That’s a 17.9% upside in addition to the 2.01% dividend yield.
Investors are also getting RTX stock while its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio is around 38x, which is a discount to its historical averages.
3. Paychex May Look Better in Another Quarter or Two
At first glance, there would seem to be a lot to like about Paychex Inc (NASDAQ:). The company provides payroll and human capital management solutions (i.e., human resources). Its primary target is small- to medium-sized businesses.
PAYX stock is up over 10% this year and over 24% in the last 12 months. Making the story more attractive, Paychex raised its dividend by 10% in early May. That puts the annualized three-year dividend growth at over 13%.
What’s not to like? In this case, it would be the company’s current stock price. At around $154 per share, it’s near the top of its 52-week range, and above the consensus price target of analysts.
Here’s reason to be enthusiastic: hiring should grow, particularly in the stock of small businesses served by Paychex. However, that’s dependent on the Trump tax bill making its way through Congress.
It seems likely, but will it happen in the timeframe investors seek (i.e., by the Fourth of July)? That’s less certain. And it could send PAYX stock lower until there’s clarity.
To be clear, there’s no danger with the company’s dividend. But if you’re looking for some growth to go along with that income, there are better options. However, that could change if the Trump tax bill is delivered on schedule.

Washington — President Trump on Monday signed a bipartisan bill into law that makes it a federal crime to post real and fake ********* explicit imagery online of people without their consent.
The bill, known as the “Take It Down Act,” was backed by first lady Melania Trump, who made a rare public appearance in March at the U.S. Capitol to advocate for the bill’s passage in the House. The bill cleared the lower chamber last month after the Senate passed the measure in February.
“This will be the first-ever federal law to combat the distribution of explicit, imagery posted without subjects’ consent,” Mr. Trump said during a bill signing event at the White House. “We will not tolerate online ******* exploitation.”
The law requires social media companies and other websites to remove images and videos, including deepfakes generated by artificial intelligence, within 48 hours after a victim’s request. Those convicted of intentionally distributing explicit images without a subject’s consent face prison time.
“It’s heartbreaking to witness young teens, especially girls, grappling with the overwhelming challenges posed by malicious online content like deep fakes,” the first lady said in March. “This toxic environment can be severely damaging.”
The first lady attended Monday’s bill signing, calling the law a “national victory that will help parents and families protect children from online exploitation.” She thanked the bipartisan group of lawmakers who worked on the legislation “for coming together to prioritize people over politics.”
“Artificial intelligence and social media are the digital candy for the next generation — sweet, addictive and engineered to have an impact on the cognitive development of our children,” she said, adding that “these new technologies can be weaponized, shape beliefs and, sadly, affect emotions and even be deadly.”
After Mr. Trump signed the bill into law, he handed it to his wife to also sign.
Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, as well as TikTok and Snapchat have all said they support the legislation.
Digital rights groups, however, have warned that the legislation as written could lead to the suppression of lawful speech, including legitimate ************, and does not contain protections against bad-faith takedown requests.

With its beautiful visuals and Soulslike combat, the title already walks a tightrope between challenge and reward.
However, fans want more, and for some, they want less. Perhaps, that’s why now we have a mod for the game with a twist that could either turn your playthrough into a sequence of perfectly-timed parries that could one-shot you if missed, or a walk through the park even against the hardest of the bosses.

The above-mentioned mod, available on Nexus Mods, called Easier or Harder Dodge and Parry for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, doesn’t just bring a small tweak or a cosmetic change; instead, it essentially reshapes the game’s whole rhythm by overhauling dodge i-frames and parry timings, along with stamina drain mechanics.
There is no doubt about the fact that gamers who went through the trials of difficulty hell made by Hidetaka Miyazaki in his Soulsborne games, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 doesn’t pose much of a challenge. Hence, the heightened difficulty of this one particular boss leads the player to realizing why exactly why that boss is placed at the top of a supposed enemy hierarchy scale in the game.
The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Easier or Harder Dodge and Parry ultimately opens the door to vastly different experiences within the same game world. It can be a way to revisit the story through a new lens, or simply survive that one boss who gave you nightmares.

, higher , GLP-1 drugs, and tariff concerns have created a perfect storm for alcohol stocks. Normally, sin stocks perform well even when economic data is weak. But that hasn’t been the case in 2025.
That’s why Heineken NV (OTC:) should be on your radar. It’s up 23% for the year as of May 15, 2025. The company is in the middle of a major investment plan that could set the stage for future growth.
Of course, investors may be concerned that a stock that’s up so much in 2025 is getting ready to roll over. Those fears appear to be unfounded in the case of Heineken (AS:). This is a stock picker’s market, and Barron’s has rated Heineken as the best stock in the beer and spirits category.
Delivering Solid Results When Execution Matters
One reason Barron’s is optimistic is that 95% of the company’s output is brewed in its home country, offering significant tariff protection. The world’s second-largest brewer also has limited exposure to potential tariffs from the United States. Only about 21% of the company’s sales volume comes from the Americas.
Consumer staples stocks have been a good example of why this is a stock picker’s market. Consumers are still buying, but are objectively becoming more discerning. That’s showing up in company earnings reports, making a bullish case for Heineken.
In the company’s most recent quarter, it reported a 0.9% increase in net revenue even though volume was down 2.1%. That’s something that investors have seen from several other companies in the category. However, premium beer volume showed organic growth of 1.8%.
That’s in keeping with the company’s strategy of focusing on premiumization, which is also why the brewer reaffirmed its 2025 earnings outlook.
In February 2025, Heineken announced a $1.6 billion share buyback program. The company’s most recent quarterly earnings report announced that it authorized the first tranche to be completed no later than January 2026. This should give investors some downside protection.
Heineken Is Reinvesting in Its Star Pubs Business
In support of the United Kingdom’s objective to boost economic growth, Heineken is investing approximately $44.7 billion (€40 billion) to remodel and reopen dozens of pubs across the country.
The cash will flow through the company’s Star Pubs operation and is expected to create around 1,000 jobs. This new investment is a continuation of the approximately $10.6 million (€9.5 million) investment Heineken made in 2024 that resulted in 62 pubs reopening.
Don’t Let NIMBY Keep You From HEINY Stock
Over the past five years or more, the United States has been the place to be for equity investors. However, the case for U.S. stocks is not as strong in 2025 as diversification is winning the hearts and minds of investors who may have viewed international stocks with a “not in my backyard” (NIMBY) mentality.
There are reasons for that. Investors will have to work harder to find information on international stocks. That’s particularly true of a company that trades as an over-the-counter stock like Heineken.
But there’s a reason why a global brand like Heineken is gaining ground among savvy investors. The 23% growth in 2025 is above its five-year total return of around 18%. Plus, with a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio around 16x, Heineken stock is trading at a discount to its five-year historical average.
The 20 analysts who have offered a rating for Heineken stock give it a consensus Buy with a price target of $51.71. That’s 18% above the stock’s price on May 15. That’s in line with the total return in Heineken stock over the last five years, which includes the company’s annual dividend that currently has a yield of 2.27%.

Carrie Russell, 46, was swerving down a major Florida highway on February 16, 2024, when she crossed a double yellow line and crashed into 29-year-old Amanda Jansen’s truck, according to police.
The head-on collision killed Jansen and her unborn child.
Police say that Russell was drunk and tested positive for amphetamines, stimulant drugs, at the time of the ******. Russell was arrested for the ****** on Sunday, over a year after the pregnant mother was killed. She faces two charges of DUI ********* related to the ******.
It’s unclear why it took a year for police to charge Russell.

Russell is teacher and works for Oak View Middle School in Newberry, Florida, the same town Jansen lived.
Alachua County Public Schools told The Independent, “While the district cannot provide any details about this situation, families at the school are being notified that Ms. Russell was arrested over the weekend and has been placed on administrative leave.
“A substitute will be fulfilling her duties through the rest of the school year, which ends June 3rd.”
Jansen, originally from Gainesville, Florida, was remembered in her obituary as a “young, loving, kind, and adventurous soul.”
She was outdoorsy with a love of gardening, fishing, hunting, tending to her chickens and paddle-boarding. Jansen’s loved ones said that she “had just found out she was going to be a mother” before the ****** “and was so excited for the new adventure.”
“Even though she had so much more life to live her angel wings were ready and she was called home,” the obituary read. “Her loss has left a big hole in all of our hearts.”

The pregnant mother worked for Shore Builders Inc. – a residential, commercial and marine construction company based in Gainesville.
This past February, the company paid tribute to Jansen by hosting her family for a lunch “to honor her memory and celebrate her significant contributions to Shore Builders,” according to a Facebook post by the construction firm.
Shore Builders announced in the post that they had created a mural in their conference room of Jansen fishing on a dock, known as “her favorite place.”
“She will be deeply missed but will always remain a part of the Shore Builders family,” the company said.

Skyrim changed my life. Before Skyrim, I viewed video games as not much more than a way to spend time with my middle school friends, when Call of Duty and Battlefield were what my concept of gaming was. After exploring the vast frozen tundras of Skyrim, delving into the countless draugr caves, and slaying dozens of dragons, I was transformed. I saw how massive games could be, how immersive they could be, and how much time could be lost playing. Skyrim opened my mind and heart to what would become my biggest passion. After Skyrim, I was desperate for another experience like it. I wanted another game that could continue that awe and wonder I had experienced playing Skyrim for the first time. What better way to recapture the magic of my first Elder Scrolls experience than to play the predecessor to Skyrim?
Perhaps it was how dated the graphics were, how stiff the controls and combat felt, how awful the third-person controls were, or how awkward NPC dialogue could be. Whatever the case, Oblivion could not hold my attention. I’ve since given it another try multiple times over the years, amassing over a hundred hours (perhaps even more) in my many attempts but never making it very far. I desperately want to like Oblivion, to see what others who played the game at launch see, to experience the awe they experienced because it reminds me so much of how I viewed Skyrim. It just wasn’t working. Then, the rumors of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered began circulating, leaks poured out, release dates and shadow drops were proposed, and finally, it became real. This was it. This would be my last opportunity to see if Oblivion could finally draw me in and give me that transcendent experience I had been looking for all those years ago.
Oblivion Remastered is everything I wanted it to be. It is an example all future remasters should strive toward. It preserves the core of what makes Oblivion special in the eyes of its long-time fans while upgrading and modernizing it just enough so that it feels fresh and in-line with modern sensibilities. The original Oblivion is likely best-known for its goofy visuals, with NPCs often compared to potatoes. The world of the original lacks detail but makes up for it with bright colors and a hazy bloom which gives it a dream-like quality that imbues you with the feeling that you’re exploring the world of a fantasy book. Oblivion Remastered retains the atmosphere of the original and upgrades the visuals for modern audiences in a way not before seen in a remaster.
Rebuilding Cyrodiil
Oblivion running in Unreal Engine 5 is stunning. The lead developer on this remaster, Virtuos, did an excellent job at rebuilding all of Cyrodiil and its inhabitants to fit a detailed, ultra-high definition style while still retaining the fantastical dream-like style of the original. Virtous rebuilt the cracked cobblestones of ruins, rough walls of caves, and the shimmering towering spires of the Imperial City from the ground up within UE5. Characters have more detail in their skin than ever thought possible back in 2006, but their features remain exaggerated in a style so iconic to the original experience. The world is vibrant and full of color. A brilliant new lighting system begs you to pause and gawk when the sun breaks for dawn or sets for night. Every step in Oblivion Remastered could be framed and put onto a wall for proud display.
Tagging along with these massive visual upgrades come rough performance issues. Upon original release, Oblivion also struggled to run on contemporary systems. Bethesda titles are no stranger to bugs, glitches, and performance issues and the remaster is no different. Inside buildings and dungeons all runs smooth as butter. As soon as you step into a busy city or out into the open world, performance tanks. Stutters, hitching, frame drops, texture pop-in, and lighting errors are common. After some tweaking and utilizing various AI upscaling features Oblivion Remastered reached a stable, playable, and mostly smooth state on my current PC rig. For those with older or weaker systems, performance will likely be much worse and will need to evaluate their capabilities and tolerance for performance before picking up this demanding remaster.
The original Oblivion is stiff and unwieldy. That was part of its charm in 2006 that doesn’t hold up to modern scrutiny. The level-up system was the most egregious requiring counter-intuitive decision making during character creation that, if done incorrectly, would result in failed characters. Combat was serviceable at best with weapons and magic that lacked any impact. Third-person view was out of the question as they controlled like a puppet on strings. Adjustments to these systems has been the greatest boon given by the remaster. An overhaul to the leveling system enables all players to build their characters how they wish without having to select random skills that are out of place for their character. Enemies now react when hit with a weapon adding real impact to combat. Third-person has been completely overhauled bringing it more in-line with Skyrim’s third-person control scheme. These changes have fixed much of what made Oblivion cumbersome for modern players to enjoy, allowing for more freedom in character building and more engaging moment-to-moment gameplay.
Closing Shut the Jaws of Oblivion
Walking around the densely packed cities around Cyrodil, talking to the colorful NPCS, completing quests with interesting storylines, getting side tracked by random events, and hoarding all the loot you can hold all feel just as good today as it did back in 2006. Quests are the greatest strength of Oblivion. Bethesda did a fantastic job in 2006 of crafting some of the most intriguing and compelling quests out there. From a ******* mansion mystery, to a magical painting holding a secret world, to walking among someone’s dreams to save them from being trapped in a nightmare, the quests in Oblivion capture the imagination and beg to be completed. These quests still hold up today and keep Oblivion: Remastered on-par with the great RPGs of today despite its ancient bones. It is a reminder of the magic Bethesda games have and how engaging their worlds can be when crafted with love and care by a team who dedicate themselves to the art form. The brilliance of this remaster is in how much of what made the original Oblivion great is left untouched and preserved. However, with that also comes the snags which hold Oblivion back.
Dungeons and Oblivion Gates are just as repetitive and tiresome as in the original. There are only so many times one can delve into the same looking Ayleid ruins or hike up the long corridors of an Oblivion tower before they all start blending together and becoming a disengaging nightmare. There comes a point in every Elder Scrolls game, Oblivion: Remastered included, in which all things become trivial. Your character becomes so powerful that nothing becomes a challenge anymore. Your armor has reached its peak, your enchantments have made you a god, your weapons are instant-death machines, nothing can stand in your path. This is part of the fun of Bethesda games with some players living for the thrill of breaking their character. Unlike in the original, due to how the leveling system has been overhauled, you reach this peak a lot faster meaning you’ll be faced with the decision to break your character or add self-imposed rules to your character a lot sooner than normal. This could usually be solved by increasing the difficulty. Unfortunately, the remaster has adjusted the difficulty of Oblivion to its detriment. In the original title, there were up to nine different difficulty levels depending on where you placed the slider and would increase or decrease the damage you dealt to enemies and the damage they dealt to you. This has been replaced with five simplistic Skyrim difficulty options: Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Expert, and Master. Novice is brain-numbingly easy while Expert and Master are absurdly difficult. My advice would be to stick with Adept for a few levels. It begins easy and progressively balances out as stronger enemies appear. Whatever the case, the loss of the difficulty slider is a detriment to the experience for hardcore fans.
What’s Old Made New Again
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered builds off of a nearly 20-year-old system to create an experience that challenges modern RPGs. All of what made the original special is retained in the remaster. The land of Cyrodiil has never looked better to explore, quests still hold up today as some of the best in RPGs, looting anything and everything is still just as addicting as it was in 2006. With the remaster comes improvements to combat, the broken leveling system, overhauled visuals, and more engaging combat. Alongside the charm of the original and the benefits of the remaster come warts both old and new. Oblivion Gates and many dungeons are repetitive (albeit mostly optional) slogs, your character progresses much too fast with the new leveling system, difficulty options have been streamlined to a point in which only one is realistically playable, and performance issues will plague many players even on powerful systems. There is always potential that some of these issues can be ironed out over the course of a few updates and, to my estimation, do not deter from the overall experience to a significant degree. Oblivion Remastered is an example all other remasters should strive to emulate and an experience that, at its core, is a 20-year-old experience that still holds up to this day.

Coral was added to Minecraft back in July 2018 as a way to add more color and function to the survival game’s oceans. While coral has limited uses, if you don’t know how to correctly harvest and use it, it could quickly turn dull, lifeless, and boring.
There are five types of coral–tube, fire, *****, bubble, and brain, as well as fanned variants of all of those. They naturally generate in warm ocean biomes in coral reefs, but they need water to survive. Otherwise, they’ll turn into dead coral. Where once they were bright blues, oranges, pinks, and yellows, dead coral turns gray and lifeless.
Coral is found in warm oceans
How to collect Coral in Minecraft
To collect coral, you’ll need a tool with the Silk Touch Minecraft enchantment. It does mine instantly, so unlike Obsidian you won’t need to spend ages harvesting it. That’s especially helpful since it’s underwater. You don’t want to drown, after all.
Occasionally, the Wandering Trader will offer coral blocks for three emeralds. Once you’ve collected Coral, you’ll find it can’t be used to craft anything. It only has one purpose in the game–looking pretty.
Coral needs to be in water to survive
How to use Coral in Minecraft
Now that you’ve got your coral safely from the bottom of the ocean, you can plant it inside lakes, rivers, and aquariums on your base for decoration or to give a nice colorful home to your fish. However, what happens if you want to use it outside of the water?
You can plant coral outside of water itself, but it have access to a water source on at least one side. That means that, technically, you could use coral as a building material as long as you have a hidden (or not so hidden) irrigation system keeping it wet.
If you want to use coral as a decoration, you can place a block of sand and pour a bucket of water on it, waterlogging the block. Then, plant the coral fans on top of the waterlogged block, and they won’t turn into dead coral. You can do this anywhere in the game, with any block that can be waterlogged.

A community radio station in the South West will celebrate it’s 10th year on air this week.
Bunbury Community Radio started from humble beginnings, broadcasting from a single computer, to now having two studios and more than 20 volunteer hosts who provide about 80 hours of live and local programming each week.
Broadcasting on 103.7FM, the station plays music such as jazz, blues and folk in addition to popular contemporary music, and strives to promote local musicians.
Chair Jeff Macnish said the station — which is supported by a number of businesses through sponsorship — has evolved a great deal over the years.
“When we first started, we basically had a 1000 watt transmitter. We’ve now increased that to up to 8000 watts, or eight kilowatts,” he said.
“Our reception and expansion of the signal and strength of the signal has increased, as has our number of listeners and number of sponsors.”
Mr Macnish told the Bunbury Herald community radio “filled a void” of local content, which wasn’t being covered by other stations.
According to the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, almost one quarter (24.8 per cent) of Australians listened to community broadcasters.
“What we keep hearing from our listeners is that they enjoy what we do,” Mr Macnish said.
“They know that we’re local and that we’re actually providing support to local industry and to local artists, and they love the music and the format that we have.
“We also support not-for-profit organisations, sporting organisations, any of those groups which need to have some avenue to get their message out.”
Based out of Dalyellup College, the radio station engages students and provides training to young journalists looking to break into the industry — offering a radio club where they can prepare and pre-record their own show which airs on Wednesday afternoons.
Mr Macnish said the station was planning a celebration later in the year to mark the decade of broadcasting, which they will celebrate on Thursday.

A 44-year-old woman who had a heart attack last year has said her “textbook typical” symptoms were ignored by health workers.
Mary McFarland from Antrim collapsed in work in October, minutes after experiencing “a crushing pain” in her chest which spread down her arm.
An ambulance was called but she was shocked when paramedics told her it was only a panic attack.
Further hospital tests later confirmed there was a tear in the wall of her coronary artery, which supplies blood to the heart.
Heart health ‘at tipping point’
Ms McFarland spoke out on the day that the British Heart Foundation (BHF) warned Northern Ireland’s heart health was at a “tipping point” following a “record” number of people being affected by heart diseases.
It said it was launching a new strategy aimed at saving “many more families the heartbreak of losing loved ones far too soon”.
Ms McFarland said: “I am very aware of the symptoms of a heart attack but I never thought in my early 40s and having a healthy diet, that it could happen to me.”
At the time, the mother of three was working as a medicinal chemist.
She considered herself fit, she exercised regularly and had no history of heart problems.
“My colleagues, family and friends were in such disbelief at what happened to me,” she said.
“A lot of time people say when a lady has a heart attack she has symptoms that are not typical.
“Mine were textbook typical but they were still ignored.”

Heart failure levels ‘at a record high’
The BHF said there were 4,227 deaths from heart and circulatory diseases in 2023, which was the highest number of fatalities since 2012.
Further research by the BHF suggested there has been a 12% rise in the number of people diagnosed with heart failure since 2020.
Heart failure means that the heart is too weak to pump blood around the body properly and it can happen at any age.
The BHF said 19,378 patients were given a heart failure diagnosis in 2020, but the latest figure was 21,701 which it described as “a record high”.
The BHF also said there has been a 10% rise in the number of adults diagnosed with diabetes since 2020, which is “a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease”.
However its head in Northern Ireland, Fearghal McKinney, said we are “entering an era of immense scientific opportunity that can turn this tide”.
“By driving a research revolution, we can reverse this worrying trend and save and improve more lives than ever before.”
As part of its new strategy, the BHF is urging Northern Ireland to use advances in “data science, artificial intelligence and behavioural sciences to detect and treat those at risk much earlier”.
It also pledges to “significantly increase investment in cardiovascular research”.
Because of her age, lifestyle and medical history, Ms McFarland did not think she was among those at high risk of heart problems.
On the day she became ill, she was working as part of an interview panel when the chest pain began.
After a few minutes of severe pain and sweating, she got up and left the room and then “collapsed just outside the door”.
“I had been a first aider in work for 15 years and my immediate thought was, I’m having a heart attack.”
Her colleagues called an ambulance and paramedics performed an ECG (electrocardiogram) test, which records the electrical activity of a patient’s heart.
The BFH said ambulance staff diagnosed her condition as a panic attack, but told her that “for her own piece of mind she could go and get a blood test”.
“I knew it wasn’t a panic attack so I repeated I was the one interviewing, I wasn’t being interviewed, however it didn’t make a difference,” Ms McFarland said.
‘I didn’t look like her typical heart patient’
A colleague took her to hospital, where blood tests revealed she had elevated levels of troponin – a protein which can leak into the blood after a heart attack.
She spent the weekend in hospital in Belfast and on the Sunday a cardiologist told her she was arranging an angiogram – a special X-ray used to check blood vessels.
“However, she said as I looked well and didn’t look like her typical heart patient she would ask the senior consultant if it was really necessary to bring the team in [on a Sunday].
“Thankfully the consultant agreed it needed to be done that day,” Ms McFarland said.
The angiogram confirmed Ms McFarland had a tear in one of her arteries.
The following night, the cardiology team discovered a blood clot on her heart which had blocked the artery.
She had to undergo a life-saving angioplasty procedure to widen the artery.
Ms McFarland has since made a gradual recovery since starting cardiac rehabilitation in January.
She is now back to work full time and and has been able to rejoin the rowing club she was member of before her illness.
“The main thing is to trust your own body and if you think there’s something not right, go with what you believe and get checked out,” she said.

Switch 2 is due to launch on June 5. On Friday, Nintendo detailed the free Switch 2 updates coming to 12 of its existing Switch games at launch, including Super Mario Odyssey, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Some games will only be getting the addition of GameShare support, a new feature which means that players with multiple Switch consoles (be that Switch or Switch 2) will be able to play multiplayer with only one copy of the game.
It was recently discovered that the colored panels on the side of the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-**** controllers can be removed, and some stores are already offering customization options.

New therapeutic garden at Bunbury Regional Hospital aiding patients with their recovery
A new therapeutic garden at the Bunbury Regional Hospital is providing patients with an engaging way to aid their rehabilitation.
The unique initiative — spearheaded by the WA Country Health Service — offers patients gardening sessions which are designed to enhance their physical, cognitive and social recovery.
Located within the hospital’s subacute restorative unit, and led by the occupational therapy team, the garden is for patients working to regain strength and independence following medical conditions, injuries or surgeries.
Bunbury Regional Hospital director Jeff Calver said the initiative was a collaborative effort.
“We noticed an opportunity in the rehabilitation program for an age demographic which typically loves gardening,” he said.
“Some patients find traditional rehabilitation settings, such as gyms, challenging. So, the chance to spend more time outdoors doing something they enjoy had great potential.”
The garden beds have been installed at various heights to accommodate patients of all mobility levels and staff run individual sessions which are tailored to patient’s personal needs.
Mr Calver said the program was already receiving positive feedback.
“Gardening is a great way to encourage movement, dexterity and engagement — all of which are critical for rehabilitation,” he said.
“Patients are also enjoying the strong sense of community and appreciate the opportunity to be part of something meaningful during their recovery.”
One participant — an 83-year-old recovering from a stroke — said they were enjoying being involved in the project.
“I’ve always been passionate about gardening, so to be able to incorporate enjoying the warmer weather into my recovery has been really satisfying,” they said.
“It’s rewarding socially as well, and it gives me something to look forward to. It’s my favourite time of the week.”

SAG-AFTRA challenges Epic Games over Darth Vader AI in Fortnite
SAG-AFTRA, the labour union for American actors, has criticised Epic’s addition of a Darth Vader AI chatbot in Fortnite, and accused the company of unfair labor practices.
Fortnite added the Darth Vader chatbot with its latest season, which allows players to interact with the character, who will respond with the iconic voice of late actor James Earl Jones.
Epic says Jones’s AI-powered voice was used with permission from his family. However, SAG-AFTRA argues that the tool still takes work away from other actors who could’ve voiced the character in his video game form.
“We celebrate the right of our members and their estates to control the use of their digital replicas and welcome the use of new technologies to allow new generations to share in the enjoyment of those legacies and renowned roles,” it said in a statement.
“However, we must protect our right to bargain terms and conditions around uses of voice that replace the work of our members, including those who previously did the work of matching Darth Vader’s iconic rhythm and tone in video games.”
SAG-AFTRA goes on to accuse Fortnite’s signatory company, Llama Productions, of choosing to “replace the work of human performers with A.I. technology”.
“Unfortunately, they did so without providing any notice of their intent to do this and without bargaining with us over appropriate terms. As such, we have filed an unfair labor practice charge with the NLRB against Llama Productions.”
Epic is yet to respond to SAG-AFTRA’s statement.
SAG-AFTRA started a strike last summer after it said it had failed to negotiate acceptable protections around the use of AI for its members.
The strike remains active, meaning video game companies and their performance production arms – with the exception of those who have already signed agreements with SAG-AFTRA – likely won’t be able to hire unionised actors to perform motion capture or voiceover work for their games.
