Novavax can finally breathe a sigh of relief – at least a small one.
The Food and Drug Administration approved the company’s Covid-19 vaccine after more than a month of delay – but the long-awaited green light comes with unusual restrictions.
The decision limits use of the shot, Nuvaxovid, to people ages 65 and older and those ages 12 to 64 who have at least one underlying medical condition that puts them at high risk of severe illness if they contract Covid.
Those new restrictions appear to reflect the high degree of skepticism Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other leaders he has appointed across federal health agencies have about vaccines. Notably, the Food and Drug Administration is slated to outline its approach to Covid vaccination at a virtual event Tuesday, which could spell major changes to what is required to get regulatory approval for shots.
Novavax’s shot is now fully approved in the U.S. Since 2022, the vaccine has been used under an emergency use authorization. Health experts consider it a valuable alternative to messenger RNA shots from Pfizer and Moderna, which have been far more popular among Americans.
Those companies’ Covid jabs are already fully approved for use in anyone 12 and older and authorized for use in children as young as 6 months.
But all three companies must secure additional approval to update the strain targeted by their respective shots ahead of the fall and winter vaccination season. FDA vaccine advisors are set to discuss strain selection at a meeting later this week.
And next month, advisors to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are set to debate if yearly Covid vaccines still should be recommended for everyone or only for certain people at higher risk.
Novavax, however, has even more work to do ahead than its rivals do.
The FDA’s approval requires the company to complete several studies on whether its vaccine is also associated with several heart conditions, such as myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle. (Cases of myocarditis among people who have received Covid shots are rare and mainly reported in teenage boys).
Some of the required research can be completed with available data. But one new study would most likely require Novavax to follow thousands of healthy people who are 50 to 65 years old who take either the vaccine or a placebo.
Despite those extra so-called “post-marketing” requirements, some analysts said the approval is still a win for Novavax.
The company now expects to be ready for commercial delivery of the vaccine in the U.S. this fall in partnership with France’s Sanofi. The two companies last year inked an up to $1.2 billion licensing deal.
Analysts said the partnership could boost Novavax’s chances of winning more Covid vaccine market share. Sanofi is a “powerhouse partner” with “strong vaccine expertise and distribution channels,” Jefferies analysts said in a note on Sunday.
The full approval has also triggered a $175 million milestone payment to Novavax from Sanofi as part of their deal, which is a meaningful sum for the small vaccine maker.
The narrower approval of Novavax’s shot may not be totally bad news, Jefferies analysts added. They said people ages 65 and older represent the largest age group for Covid vaccination anyway.
We’ll have to wait and see how any changes at federal health agencies impact the rollout of Novavax’s shot later this year, so stay tuned for our coverage!

Latest in health-care tech: Virtual solutions for depression and anxiety are effective, but can increase costs, report says
Patients suffering from mild to moderate depression and anxiety can meaningfully improve their symptoms by using virtual mental health-care tools, according to a new report from the Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI) on Tuesday. However, some of these tools increase total health-care costs for employers and plans.
Depression and anxiety affect more than one in five adults in the U.S., PHTI said. In 2020, the U.S. spent more than $240 billion on treatment for these two disorders alone. Virtual mental health tools have become increasingly popular in recent years, and PHTI evaluated a range of self-guided solutions, prescription digital therapeutics and blended-care solutions for its report on Tuesday.
PHTI is a nonprofit that conducts independent evaluations of digital health solutions. For its latest report, the organization assessed 15 different mental-health care tools from a range of companies, including Teladoc Health, Headspace and Spring Health.
“As a healthcare system, we should champion the success of these virtual solutions at improving access and outcomes, and we must be diligent in supporting thoughtful, financially sustainable, and clinically appropriate growth of these solutions for the people who need them,” Caroline Pearson, executive director of PHTI, said in a letter.
Self-guided solutions offer digital content like lessons and activities that patients can access and personalize to meet their individual needs. PHTI found that these tools deliver “clinically meaningful improvements” for patients with depression and anxiety who are not already receiving psychotherapy. These tools also decrease net health spending for commercial payers, the report said.
Prescription digital therapeutics are software-based tools that have been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and must be prescribed to patients. When used in addition to usual care, these tools can help patients with depression and anxiety meaningfully improve their symptoms, PHTI said.
The organization found that prescription digital therapeutics decreased net health spending for commercial payers as well as Medicare at anticipated reimbursement rates.
Blended-care solutions combine self-guided content with virtual care teams of licensed therapists and psychiatrists. These tools make up the largest share of the market, and they are popular with employer purchasers. These tools offer “strong clinical effectiveness,” PHTI said, though there is more limited comparative data in this category.
Despite these large clinical improvements, blended-care solutions increase net health spending for payers, PHTI said. The savings do not offset the costs, and estimated spending would be higher if the solutions were deployed in Medicare or Medicaid.
“Most of these solutions currently charge access fees for all employees— not just those who sign up to use the solution,” Pearson said. “As a result, even though these solutions deliver strong clinical benefits, the avoided healthcare costs from users cannot offset the overall prices charged for the product.”

Trump unveils plans for ‘Golden Dome’ missile defence system
Trump unveils plans for ‘Golden Dome’ missile defence system
The US has selected a design for the futuristic “Golden Dome” missile defence system, says US President Donald Trump, adding that it will be operational by the end of his time in office.
Just days after returning to the White House in January, Trump unveiled his intentions for the system, aimed at countering “next-generation” aerial threats to the US, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
An initial sum of $25bn (£18.7bn) has been earmarked in a new budget bill – although the government has estimated it will end up costing much more than that over decades.
Officials warn that existing systems have not kept pace with increasingly sophisticated weapons possessed by potential adversaries.
President Trump also announced that Space Force General Michael Guetlein will oversee the project. Gen Guetlein is currently vice chief of space operations at Space Force.
Seven days into his second administration, Trump ordered the defence department to submit plans for a system that would deter and defend against aerial attacks, which the White House said remain “the most catastrophic threat” facing the US.
Speaking in the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump said the system would consist of “next-generation” technologies across land, sea and space, including space-based sensors and interceptors. He added that Canada had asked to be a part of the system.
Trump added that the system would be “capable even of intercepting missiles launched from the other side of the world, or launched from space”.
The system is partly inspired by Israel’s Iron Dome, which the country has used to intercept rockets and missiles since 2011.
The Golden Dome, however, would be many times larger and designed to combat a wider range of threats, including hypersonic weapons able to move faster than the speed of sound and fractional orbital bombardment systems – also called Fobs – that could deliver warheads from space.
“All of them will be knocked out of the air,” Trump said. “The success rate is very close to 100%.”
US officials had previously said that the Golden Dome will have the aim of allowing the US to stop missiles at various stages of their deployment, including before they launch and while they are still in the air.
The many aspects of the system will fall under one centralised command, US defence officials have said.
Trump said on Tuesday that the programme would require an initial investment of $25bn, with a total cost of $175bn over time. The initial $25bn has been identified within his One Big Beautiful Bill on tax, which has not yet been passed.
The Congressional Budget Office, however, has estimated that the government could ultimately spend more, up to $542bn over 20 years, on the space-based parts of the system alone.
Pentagon officials have long-warned that existing systems have not kept pace with new missile technology designed by Russia and China.
“There really is no current system,” Trump said in the Oval Office on Tuesday. “We have certain areas of missiles and certain missile defence, but there is no system… there has never been anything like this.”
A briefing document recently released by the Defense Intelligence Agency noted that missile threats “will expand in scale and sophistication”, with China and Russia actively designing systems “to exploit gaps” in US defences.

Rubio warns Syria could be weeks away from ‘full-scale civil war’
Rubio warns Syria could be weeks away from ‘full-scale civil war’
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called for Syria’s transitional authorities to be supported, warning that the country could be only weeks away from “potential collapse and a full-scale civil war of epic proportions”.
At a hearing of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he defended President Donald Trump’s decision last week to lift sanctions on Syria before meeting President Ahmed al-Sharaa, a former al-Qaeda commander who led the rebel offensive that overthrew Bashar al-Assad in December.
Trump’s rationale was that other countries wanted to help Sharaa’s administration and send aid but were afraid of the sanctions, Rubio explained.
There was no immediate comment from Syrian officials.
The US imposed sanctions on Syria in response to atrocities committed by forces loyal to Assad during the country’s devastating 13-year civil war, in which more than 600,000 people were killed and 12 million others were forced from their homes.
The State Department had previously insisted on several conditions being met before they were lifted, including protecting religious and ethnic minorities.
Although Sharaa has promised to do that, the country has been rocked by two waves of deadly sectarian violence in recent months.
In March, almost 900 civilians, mainly members of Assad’s Alawite sect, were killed by pro-government forces across the western coastal region during fighting between security forces and former regime loyalists, according to one monitoring group. The loyalists reportedly killed almost 450 civilians and 170 security personnel.
And at the start of May, more than 100 people were reportedly killed in clashes between gunmen from the Druze religious *********, the new security forces and allied Sunni Islamist fighters in two suburbs of the capital Damascus and the southern province of Suweida.
Even before the violence, many members of ********* communities were worried about the new transitional authorities, which are dominated by Sharaa’s Sunni Islamist group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). It is a former al-Qaeda affiliate still designated as a terrorist organisation by the UN, the US, the EU and the ***.
Sharaa himself also continues to be listed by the US as a “specially designated global terrorist”, although the Biden administration announced in December that the US would scrap the $10m (£7.5m) bounty offered for his arrest.
Despite Sharaa’s past, Trump took the opportunity to meet him while attending a summit of Gulf leaders in Saudi Arabia last week.
Afterwards, the US president told reporters that he was a “young, attractive guy”, adding: “Tough guy. Strong past. Very strong past. Fighter.”
“He’s got a real shot at pulling it [Syria] together,” he said, adding, “it’s a torn-up country”.
Sharaa meanwhile said Trump’s decision to lift the sanctions on Syria “was a historic and courageous decision, which alleviates the suffering of the people, contributes to their rebirth and lays the foundations for stability in the region”.
Speaking to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in Washington DC on Tuesday, Rubio quipped that “the bad news is that the transitional authority figures… didn’t pass their background check with the FBI”.
“But on the flip side of it is, if we engage them, it may work out, it may not work out. If we did not engage them it was guaranteed to not work out,” he added.
“In fact, it is our assessment that, frankly, the transitional authority, given the challenges they’re facing, are maybe weeks, not many months, away from potential collapse and a full-scale civil war of epic proportions, basically the country splitting up.”
He did not elaborate but said Syria’s minorities were “dealing with deep internal distrust… because Assad deliberately pitted these groups against each other”.
He said the Trump decided to lift the sanctions quickly because “nations in the region want to get aid in, want to start helping them. And they can’t because they are afraid of our sanctions”.
As Rubio spoke, European Union foreign ministers agreed to also lift economic sanctions on Syria.
“We want to help the Syrian people rebuild a new, inclusive and peaceful Syria,” the bloc’s foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas wrote on X.
“The EU has always stood by Syrians throughout the last 14 years – and will keep doing so.”
The Syrian foreign ministry said the decision marked “the beginning of a new chapter in Syrian-European relations built on shared prosperity and mutual respect”.

If We Get Avowed 2, It’ll Have To Make Do Without A Key Figure
If We Get Avowed 2, It’ll Have To Make Do Without A Key Figure
Avowed game director Carrie Patel has announced that she’s left developer Obsidian to become a game director at Oxenfree developer Night Dive, which is owned by Netflix.
Avowed launched in February for Xbox and PC, and it was a critical success. Microsoft, which owns Obsidian, never announced any stats about the game’s commercial success, though.
After launch, Patel said she would like to see Obsidian spend more time in the Avowed world, with many taking that to mean a sequel. “Now that we’ve built this wonderful world, and also built this team strength and muscle memory around the content and gameplay in this world, I’d love to see us do more with it,” she said.
Avowed was originally pitched as a multiplayer-centric game that married Destiny with Skyrim. That was before Patel came on board as the game’s director and helped lead the project through a major development pivot.
Patel had worked at Obsidian for more than 11 years, contributing to games like Pillars of Eternity 1+2 and The Outer Worlds before becoming game director of Avowed. Obsidian is now working on The Outer Worlds 2, which is set for release later this year.
Patel leaving Obsidian doesn’t necessarily say anything about prospects for more Avowed, or anything else for that matter. People leave their jobs for any number of reasons.
While there is no word yet on a potential Avowed sequel, Obsidian is supporting the game with major updates in the summer and fall that will add things like new NPC abilities and behaviors, as well as new game plus and photo modes.
Patel joins Netflix at a time of change and upheaval at the company with regards to gaming. The company already shuttered its AAA game studio and Netflix’s gaming output is focusing more on mobile and social games of late. However, Netflix’s top gaming boss says fans should understand that it takes “time, stubbornness, and investment to get great results.”
It’s not immediately clear what project Patel is the game director of at Netflix. Keep checking back with GameSpot for the latest.

Europa League final: Ruben Amorim thinks Man Utd would be seen differently with win
Europa League final: Ruben Amorim thinks Man Utd would be seen differently with win
It was Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes who stepped in to tell Ruben Amorim he was under pressure heading into the Europa League final.
The reality is different – even if Amorim can’t explain why.
But he does feel his team may be looked at “in a different way” if they can beat Tottenham in Bilbao on Wednesday.
While many believe it is likely counterpart Ange Postecoglou will lose his job even if Spurs end their 17-year wait for a trophy and claim a place in next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa League title, at Old Trafford faith in Amorim remains high.
This is despite United’s lowly Premier League position and there is no suggestion defeat by Tottenham will alter that view. It will though rob United of around £100m in revenue and leave them without European football for only the second time since English clubs were allowed back into competition by Uefa in 1990.
Asked why he is under no pressure, Amorim was about to answer when his captain and fellow Portuguese spoke instead.
“He is. Who told you he is not?” laughed Fernandes.
This brought an immediate riposte from Amorim: “He wants my job. He’ll be a very good coach but he has to work on his mindset. He doesn’t know how to deal with people.”
The manager added: “It’s strange because you have some coaches here that lose some games and they are sacked… it’s hard to explain.
“I think people see what we are trying to do, I think that people see that sometimes I’m thinking more about the club than myself.
“People understand, especially the board, that we have a lot of issues that in the context, is really hard.”
United may have only beaten Fulham of the non-relegated clubs in the Premier League since December, and taken two points from their last eight games to lie 16th in the table, but the club hierarchy believe Amorim is effecting change behind the scenes.
“There are a lot of things we need to change,” he said.
“They way we do everything during the week at Carrington, the recruitment, the academy. It is hard to point to one thing and it will not be solved by winning the cup.”

Erin Patterson trial: Jury shown 2½ minute visit to BP service station in Caldermeade
Stopping at a petrol station just over 24 hours after the fatal lunch, Erin Patterson visited the bathroom and bought snacks, her triple ******* trial has been told.
In the footage, Ms Patterson can be seen arriving at the petrol station in her red MG car and making a beeline for the bathroom wearing a grey long-sleeved top and white pants.
She leaves the rest room 9 seconds later, before spending about two minutes roaming the store picking items before paying and leaving.

Giving evidence on Tuesday, ********* squad detective Senior Constable Khuong Tran said he attended the petrol station to obtain the videos on August 28 as part of a police probe into the deaths.
Shortly after the CCTV was played, Constable Tran was stood down from the witness box and the jury was sent home for the day about 45 minutes early.
The trial judge, Justice Christopher Beale, told jurors there were legal discussions that needed to take place.
Ms Patterson is facing trial accused of murdering her husband Simon Patterson’s parents, Don and Gail Patterson, and his aunt Heather Wilkinson with a poisoned beef Wellington served on July 29, 2023.

She is also accused of attempting to ******* Heather’s husband Ian Wilkinson, with her defence arguing the poisonings were not deliberate.
At the start of the trial, Crown prosecutor Nanette Rogers SC told the jury it was alleged the morning after the lunch, Ms Patterson told her children she’d been sick all night.
“She said she then experienced diarrhoea later that evening, occurring every 20 minutes and lasting all night,” Dr Rogers said.
That afternoon, the jury was told, Ms Patterson drove her teenage son to Tyabb – about a 90 minute drive away – for a flying lesson.

On the journey, she stopped at a BP service station in Caldermeade, where Ms Patterson purchased sour confectionery, a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich and a sweet chilli chicken wrap, after stepping into the bathroom for 9 seconds.
About 20 minutes later, the jury was told, the flight instructor called Ms Patterson, cancelling the lesson due to bad weather.
They were close to Tyabb, but she turned around and drove back to Leongatha.
“They drove without any indication from the accused that she needed to use the toilet,” Dr Rogers said.
“At no stage during the whole trip did the accused use a toilet or indicate that she needed to use a toilet.”

Ms Patterson has pleaded not guilty to three counts of ******* and one count of attempted *******.
Gail Patterson and Heather Wilkinson both died on August 5 of death cap mushroom poisoning while Don Patterson died the following day.
Ian Wilkinson slowly recovered and was discharged from hospital in mid September.
Prosecutors allege Ms Patterson deliberately spiked the lunch with “murderous intent”, while her defence argues the case is a “tragic accident”.
The trial continues.

Has It Increased After Stadium?
Has It Increased After Stadium?
Marvel Rivals might not be the talk of the town like it was a few months ago, but its launch was genuinely one of the biggest ones. Developer NetEase Games managed to surpass expectations and overtake competitors such as Overwatch 2. The Blizzard hero shooter fell to an absolute low in terms of player numbers.
Blizzard wasn’t going to go out like that. In the last couple of months, the studio has brought tons of major updates to Overwatch 2. With Season 16, it went all out as players got a brand-new Stadium game mode, hero, map bans, and a number of other additions. However, have Blizzard’s efforts actually paid off, and has the player count increased in Overwatch 2? Let’s find out.
Did Stadium mode revive Overwatch 2‘s player base?
According to SteamDB, right after the arrival of the Season 16 update for Overwatch 2, the game celebrated a peak player count of 60,127 players. That might seem low to some, but it’s the third-highest count for the hero-shooter after its release on Steam and the debut of Season 10.
However, what’s worrying is that the increase in player numbers for Overwatch 2 was quite short-lived. Within a matter of two weeks, the player count returned to the pre-Season 16 levels. Currently, the game is averaging about 25,000-29,000 players daily.
While it’s great to see that fans returned to Overwatch 2 to celebrate the arrival of Season 16’s features, it paints a worrying picture. Even with the new game mode and hero addition, Overwatch 2 is not able to maintain a consistent player base.
The Stadium mode update wasn’t the success Blizzard had hoped for. (Image via Blizzard)
It’s not as if the Stadium mode is a terrible addition. The community has hailed it as one of the biggest game-changing shifts in recent years, and they can’t wait to see what the future holds. However, it’s really time for Blizzard to start thinking about how it can grow Overwatch 2.
Blizzard has promised more updates for Overwatch 2
More exciting updates are coming to Overwatch 2. (Image via Blizzard)
While Season 16 brought massive changes for Overwatch 2, Blizzard is planning to keep the momentum going strong. While chatting with Emongg, game director Aaron Keller opened up about the future of the hero-shooter and revealed that there are big plans in the works.
The Blizzard development team is actively listening to the player base and using that as inspiration to design more features for Overwatch 2. Although Keller stated that Perks and Stadium were a massive step up for the hero-shooter, they’re not the end of the line for Overwatch 2.
Even though Keller didn’t reveal anything specific, the next few seasons for Overwatch 2 are supposed to bring exciting updates. According to the game director, 2026 should prove to be a “bonkers” year for the game.
Let’s hope Blizzard can soon reveal what’s coming to Overwatch 2 as the hero-shooter desperately needs new additions to keep growing.
With that said, what do you think about the Stadium update in Overwatch 2? Let us know in the comments below.

He eats a ‘good amount’ of candy and likes pink Starbursts and Tootsie Rolls
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has a sweet tooth and his favorites are pink Starbursts and Tootsie Rolls.
So said Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, at a briefing Tuesday for the children of reporters who cover the White House. It was part of a day of activities the White House organized as it observed the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event.
The Republican president and his wife, first lady Melania Trump, also held separate events of their own.
One child asked Leavitt about Trump’s daily candy consumption. She characterized his intake as a “good amount” and added that “he likes pink Starburst and Tootsie Rolls.”
A few questions touched on administration policy, such as the state of the U.S.-Mexico border and what Trump is willing to do about climate change.
But even more questions were about his favorite foods and they led Leavitt to share that Trump also likes to eat a “big, beautiful steak,” ice cream sundaes with chocolate sauce and some toppings, and hamburgers and fries from McDonald’s.
She appeared to be stumped by a few of the inquiries, including about the president’s favorite soccer player and his favorite child. Trump has five adult children.
“That is a very controversial question and I’m not going to answer it,” Leavitt said after the laughter subsided. “I know he loves all of his children very much, and they’re all great kids.”
Earlier Tuesday, the first lady joined a few dozen children whose parents work in the Executive Office of the President in decorating wooden American flags.
She used a glue stick to attach two silver glittery stars to her red, white and blue flag after she took her seat at one of two tables in the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden on the South Lawn. The first lady admired the children’s work and told several that their creations were “beautiful.”
The president visited Capitol Hill early Tuesday to rally House Republican lawmakers around a tax cuts and spending bill he wants Congress to pass. He’d been scheduled to have a public event with children on the South Lawn after he returned, but the White House later decided against press coverage.
An aide later shared on social media a clip of the president doing his dance in front of some children outside the south entrance to the Executive Mansion.

Thermaltake is bringing Nordic-inspired wood finishes to its cases and gaming furniture
Thermaltake is bringing Nordic-inspired wood finishes to its cases and gaming furniture
Adding wood to PC cases remains a popular trend in 2025, with Thermaltake becoming the latest manufacturer to introduce wood-textured panels. The company said in a press note that several of its existing cases will be the first to receive the new design treatment, drawing inspiration from modern Nordic aesthetics. Thermaltake also mentioned plans to extend this design approach to its gaming furniture lineup.
Thermaltake has historically taken an interesting approach by offering its cases in unconventional yet visually striking color options. Pairing that with wood might not sound very appealing, but thankfully, Thermaltake isn’t going down that road just yet.
As announced by the company and listed on its Computex 2025 webpage, the Tower 600, TR100, View 380/380 XL, View 270, and View 170 cases will soon be available with either dark wood accents paired with ****** (navy blue in the case of the Tower 600) or light wood accents paired with a white chassis. Aside from the visual changes, the cases appear to have the same features and support as their non-wood counterparts.

While scrolling through Thermaltake’s website, we also spotted two new small form factor cases, the TR200 and TR300. Potential follow-ups to the existing TR100 small form factor case launched last year, these new cases have similar-looking design and layout but offer more height and a bit more width.

While final specifications are not official, images suggest that the TR300 will be available with a standard front panel with mesh or with wooden slats similar to the Fractal Design North and North XL. Considering the ******* size, we can also expect these new cases to fit larger micro-ATX motherboards. Both cases are, however, confirmed to include an optional 6-inch LCD screen kit, and support for up to 360mm radiators and a total of six 120mm fans.

Thermaltake is also launching the new P950 gaming table, featuring a sleek walnut wood finish and a collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche. The desk offers height adjustment and includes RGB lighting control via a mobile app, along with health-focused features such as scheduled height changes and usage tracking. It comes with a heavy-duty frame that is claimed to support up to 150 kg and comes with a programmable controller that offers four memory profiles for quick adjustments.

Will Still: Southampton identify Englishman as leading candidate for manager vacancy
Southampton have identified Lens manager Will Still as their leading candidate for the vacant position at St Mary’s Stadium.
The 32-year-old, born in Belgium to English parents, announced last weekend he is leaving French side Lens to move back to the ***.
The move is complicated by negotiations that need to take place to free Still from his contract at the Ligue 1 club, which runs until 2027, as Lens could be due compensation.
In March, his partner Emma Saunders, a presenter on Sky Sports who previously worked for BBC Sport, said she was recovering from encephalitis, an infection of the brain.
“For multiple reasons, the main reason behind my decision is that I need to go back home,” Still told reporters on Saturday.
Still would be a permanent replacement for Ivan Juric, who was sacked in April after the club were relegated from the Premier League with a record seven games left to play.
The Englishman built his football career in Belgium at Lierse and Beershot before moving to France, where he became the youngest coach in Europe’s top five leagues when he was appointed by Reims, aged 30, in October 2022.
He joined Lens on a three-year deal in June and led them to an eighth-place finish in Ligue 1. His brothers Nicolas and Edward, who are assistants at Lens.
Lens have yet to confirm Still’s departure. BBC Sport has contacted the club for comment.
Southampton were previously tipped with a move for Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl but the compensation package to move to a club within the same division is thought to be too expensive.

Friend charged with providing beer to fan who fell from bleachers at Pirates game: Police
A Pennsylvania man faces charges for allegedly providing alcohol to an underage baseball fan who was critically hurt in a 20-foot fall at PNC Park in Pittsburgh last month.
The fan, 20-year-old Kavan Markwood, fell from the bleachers onto the field during the seventh inning of the Pirates-Cubs game on April 20, officials said. He reportedly drank two beers inside the stadium, according to a criminal complaint.
Ethan Kirkwood, 21, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, now faces criminal charges for allegedly providing the alcohol, Pennsylvania State Police said Tuesday.

He has been charged with two counts of selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor, court records show. ABC News has reached out to Kirkwood for comment but has not received a response.
Police reviewed receipts and video footage from PNC Park that showed Kirkwood purchased two 24-ounce cans of Miller Lite shortly before 7 p.m. at the April 20 game, according to the complaint.
He is then seen on the video walking away from the bar area with Markwood and two women, with both men holding a can, according to the complaint.
Over an hour later, Kirkwood is seen walking to the bar area and then walking to the seated area of the ballpark holding two cans of alcohol, according to the complaint.

After Markwood fell from the bleachers, Kirkwood “is then seen handing a can to a female who throws it in the trash and jumping over a railing and then jumped on the field to help his friend,” the complaint states.
In interviews with police following the incident, Markwood’s girlfriend said the 20-year-old drank two beers inside the park, and Kirkwood allegedly admitted to purchasing the alcohol, according to the complaint.
A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for June 23.

Markwood is slowly recovering and took his first steps since the fall earlier this month, according to his girlfriend’s mother.
“He still has a long way to go — he’s dealing with a broken neck, clavicle, and back so there are plenty of obstacles ahead,” his girlfriend’s mom, Jennifer Phillips, wrote on his GoFundMe page on May 6. “But he’s showing real strength, and we’re staying hopeful for a smooth recovery.”
The Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety said the “incident is being treated as accidental.”
Amy Thompson, who was sitting next to Markwood at the game, told Pittsburgh ABC affiliate WTAE, “As he jumped out of his seat to celebrate, it appeared that he had his hands on the fence in front of us, which I had done several times during the game, as well. I think the momentum from him jumping up in his seat and the way he grabbed the rail just seemed like he catapulted himself over the railing.”

Apple TV’s Sci-Fi Show Murderbot Is Based On This Award-Winning Book Series
Apple TV’s Sci-Fi Show Murderbot Is Based On This Award-Winning Book Series
The new sci-fi series, Murderbot, premiered this month on Apple TV+ to strong critical reviews–which isn’t surprising given the show’s source material. Like many popular streaming series, Murderbot is not an all-new IP, but is instead an adaptation of a book series by Martha Wells called The Murderbot Diaries. The first book, a novella titled All Systems Red, was a big hit when it was published in 2017 and won several prestigious awards, including the Hugo, Nebula, and Locus Awards for that year’s best novella. Its six sequels have garnered strong reviews and honors as well. If you’re interested in checking out the source material, the full series is available in several formats at Amazon–including hardcover, Kindle ebook, and Audible audiobooks.
$44 (was $80)
The books and Apple TV+ series follow a security cyborg, which calls itself “Murderbot” (played by Alexander Skarsgard in the show), who becomes conscious and must hide its self-awareness by completing the dangerous–and often deadly–missions it’s programmed for, despite wanting to hang out and watch TV instead.
While there are seven books in the series, one of the best ways to start is The Murderbot Diaries Four-Book Collection, which–as you can probably guess from the title–includes hardcover editions of the first four novellas in the series: All Systems Red, Artificial Condition, Rogue Protocol, and Exit Strategy. The collection is on ***** for $44, saving you nearly 50% compared to its normal $80 price tag.
The Murderbot Diaries Four-Book Collection will keep you busy for a bit, but it’s not the full series, and you’ll need to pick up Books 5-7 to complete the saga. Conveniently, all three are available now–in fact, all seven Murderbot Diaries books are available in standalone versions if you want to forego the four-book collection. Each volume has a hardcover edition, while a few have paperback editions available as well.
Network Effect (Book 5) and System Collapse (Book 7) are full-length novels, and Fugitive Telemetry (Book 6) is a standalone novella. All of the novellas are quick reads (160-176 pages), while Book 5 is twice as long as any other entry, and Book 7 is roughly 250 pages.
The Murderbot Diaries Complete Series
All Systems Red (Hardcover) — $16.57 ($25) | Paperback — $11 ($18)
Artificial Condition (Hardcover) — $12.40 ($20)
Rogue Protocol (Hardcover) — $12.18 ($20)
Exit Strategy (Hardcover) — $12.31 ($20)
Network Effect (Hardcover) — $16 ($29) | Paperback — $13.89 ($19)
Fugitive Telemetry (Hardcover) — $11.87 ($22)
System Collapse (Hardcover) — $17.74 ($22)
The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells
Alternatively, if you prefer reading ebooks, all seven Murderbot Diaries books are also available on Kindle. In fact, this is possibly the most affordable way to read the series. While you can purchase each volume, you can also sign up to get two months of Kindle Unlimited for free–or as part of your existing $12/month subscription if you already have an account.
The series is also available in audiobook format through Audible. Just like the ebook versions, you can buy all seven entries separately, but a few entries in the series, including Book 1, are included as part of the Audible Premium library, which costs $8/month. Audible Premium Plus members ($15/month) can use their monthly credit toward the Murderbot books that aren’t part of the Premium library. That said, members may want to save their credits for pricier books, as members can get most of the Murderbot audiobooks for less than the value of each credit ($15). A few of the audiobooks are priced at less than $7 for Audible members.
New Audible subscribers can get a free 30-day trial, which includes one credit. It’s important to note that audiobooks purchased with credits are yours to keep, but the Premium library is only accessible to active members.

Russia-Ukraine war not ending, Putin ‘no desire’ for it: Dan Quayle
Russia-Ukraine war not ending, Putin ‘no desire’ for it: Dan Quayle
As the 44th Vice President of the United States, Dan Quayle made dozens of diplomatic trips, many aimed at helping to shape the post-Cold War Soviet Union. As a voter, Quayle has cast his ballot for Donald Trump in three consecutive presidential elections. But when you put those two things together, the current view from the former V.P. comes to a pessimistic conclusion about the current posture in U.S.-Russia relations and the war in Ukraine.
“We are not approaching the end,” Quayle, who is now chairman of Cerberus Global Investments, said at the CNBC CEO Council Summit in Arizona on Tuesday. “Putin has no desire to see this come to a conclusion until he really dismantles Ukraine,” he said.
While Quayle is clear on Putin’s thinking, it is Trump’s strategy that mystifies him. “I do not understand Trump’s affinity for Putin and why he has not demanded anything here,” he said. “All he wants to do as president is deals … So, if you’re a dealmaker, what do you need? Leverage. What leverage is he trying to put on Putin? Zero. Absolutely zero,” Quayle said.
Over the weekend, Trump had posted on Truth Social ahead of talks with Russian and Ukrainian leaders, “HOPEFULLY IT WILL BE A PRODUCTIVE DAY, A CEASEFIRE WILL TAKE PLACE, AND THIS VERY VIOLENT WAR, A WAR THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED, WILL END,” in his customary all-capitalized comments.
On Monday, after an over two-hour call between Trump and Putin, the president said he wanted the “bloodbath” to end, but there was little sign of a breakthrough, even as Trump said Russia and Ukraine would hold direct talks on a ceasefire “immediately,” on his social media platform. He also spoke to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday.
“Putin says he won’t agree to a ceasefire, he just wants to talk, Trump says OK,” Quayle told CNBC’s Sara Eisen in an interview at the CEO Summit. He said the lack of pressure also undermines a U.S. policy alliance with the European Union, that if Russia did not agree to a ceasefire there would be secondary sanctions. “Putin said let’s talk, and Trump says yes, and European leaders just had the rug pulled out from under them,” Quayle said. “I don’t think it will end any time soon,” he added.
Quayle’s view of the Russian playbook is that all along it’s been to “dismantle Ukraine, and time is on his side.”
And even though Putin has not been as successful as he would have liked on the battlefield, “he’s been very successful with Trump,” Quayle said, adding that Putin’s KGB background makes him and his circle well placed to know Trump’s “weakness and vulnerability and how to deal with him.”
FILE PHOTO: U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin hold a bilateral meeting at the G20 leaders summit in Osaka, Japan, on June 28, 2019.
Kevin Lamarque | Reuters
While Quayle does not believe Trump can unilaterally “wash his hands” of the conflict when he finally realizes Putin has no interest in a ceasefire — “Congress has something to say about that and there is still bipartisan support for Ukraine,” he said — Quayle says the president has blown an opportunity to apply pressure in three ways that would work to change Putin’s approach.
To end the war, the U.S. needs “lots of money in Swiss banks that are Russian given to Ukraine.
Second, the U.S. needs to give Ukraine even more weapons.
Third, there needs to be secondary sanctions on Russia.
“Suddenly, Putin would come to the table if you do those three things,” Quayle said. “He comes to the table tomorrow.”
But Quayle does not think this will happen. “It’s not what he believes, he doesn’t want to do anything substantial to bring pressure or leverage on Putin,” he said.
The strategy on Russia leaves Quayle perplexed. “I don’t have an answer,” he said.
While he noted that Trump is fond of saying it’s “Biden’s war,” he believes there will be political repercussions for the president’s already weakened popularity if Trump lets Ukraine fall. “You inherited this war, but it is on your watch, and if he completely walks away from Ukraine, which I don’t think he will, but he might, there will be a significant political price.”
“American people do not like war, but they do not like losing wars, and if he is viewed as the loser on this, there will be a price to pay, so he needs to figure it out,” Quayle said.
“He wants peace. He doesn’t like war, but then he is so one-sided, and that is a problem,” he aded.
While Trump warned Zelenskyy that he was risking World War III in the infamous Oval Office meeting, Quayle says the ******* risk is the current Trump strategy: “You really want to talk about who is risking [WWIII]? Just let Russia gobble up Ukraine, and then Poland, and then the Balkans, and then you are going to be talking about World War III.”

Huawei’s new foldable laptop looks like it was ripped straight out of a Mission Impossible movie – this is the future
Huawei’s new foldable laptop looks like it was ripped straight out of a Mission Impossible movie – this is the future
Huawei unveiled its new MateBook Fold Ultimate Design laptop during Computex 2025
It features an 18-inch OLED display, and a new foldable mechanism to rival competitors
It’s only available in China now, but could come to global markets soon
Computex 2025 is here, and it was only a matter of time until one of the huge tech companies during the expo revealed a new device that takes laptop design to the next level – and this one may be worth keeping tabs on.
On its website (translated from ********), Huawei announced the new MateBook Fold Ultimate Design laptop, featuring an 18-inch (when expanded) 3K OLED display running on Harmony OS 5. Notably, unlike other foldable laptops like the Asus Zenbook Duo, the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design unfolds into an entire single screen.
Essentially, this means that instead of what would be two screens connected via regular laptop hinges, it’s a ‘water-drop hinge’ that allows it to open and close smoothly, and lay completely flat for an 18-inch screen experience. This mechanism is arguably a step up above Microsoft’s new Surface Pro, which acts as a tablet but is also a 2-in-1 when you use its keyboard (which is sold separately).
You may like
When in its laptop form, you’ll have a 13-inch OLED screen at your disposal using its touchscreen keyboard (or the keyboard that’s included in the package). However, the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design looks like more than just a 2-in-1 laptop; you’ll be able to transform it from a regular laptop into a portable 18-inch display for casual viewing on the device in a matter of seconds.
Closing the laptop entirely gives it a classy and thin notebook or diary-style design, as if it’s built as a disguise, further setting it apart in terms of its design from competitors. To add a cherry on top, it has 1,600 nits of peak brightness, and a 74.69WHr battery – and both features could easily stand alone as major selling points.
If I didn’t know what it really was, you could easily tell me it’s just a notepad… (Image credit: Huawei)
According to a reliable tech analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, Huawei is planning a production target for the MateBook Fold of between 180,000 and 200,000 units, and its life cycle will primarily depend on user feedback regarding the software functionality.
It’s an important factor to note, since the MateBook Fold is by no means an inexpensive laptop. It’s currently only available in China, starting at ¥23,999, which converts to around $3,330 / £2,490 / AU$5,200, but its new features will be hard to turn down if you can afford it.
Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more.
Analysis: If this is the future of laptop design, I’m here for it
I’ve played plenty of futuristic games like Cyberpunk 2077 and seen enough movies like Mission Impossible to suggest that Huawei’s new laptop could be a game-changer. It isn’t like other companies, such as Asus, haven’t introduced similar devices – the difference is, none of them utilize the ‘water-drop hinge’ mechanism Huawei has introduced.
It simply makes the Asus Zenbook Duo and the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i look like clumsy setups, that require a stand to stay upright and hinges for both screens. The MateBook Fold is the first laptop foldable laptop I’ve seen that has caught my eye – if only I could afford it.
The only drawback here is that it will likely set you back thousands of dollars if it eventually launches globally. However, if it sells well enough and gains the traction that I anticipate, we could easily see Huawei’s competitors and others follow suit soon – and that’s exactly what I’m hoping for.

Game Pass gets two more games today, including Police Simulator
Two new titles have been added to Xbox Game Pass for cloud, console, and PC.
Firefighting Simulator: The Squad from Astragan is available to subscribers of the Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard tiers, and lets players “experience what it means to fight fires up close as an active part of a major US city’s firefighting team”.
The second title is Police Simulator: Patrol Officers – also from Astragan – which is available to subscribers of the same tiers, and according to its creator, allows players to “join the police force of this fictitious American city and experience the day-to-day life of a police officer.”
May has been another busy month for Game Pass, with more than ten titles joining Microsoft’s subscription service, including Doom: The Dark Ages, Revenge of the Savage Planet, and Metal Slug Tactics.
Several games left Game Pass this month, including Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and Dune: Spice Wars.
VGC wrote in its Doom: The Dark Ages review: “Dark Ages gets so much right, that its main flaws come when the game takes you away from its main, excellent combat loop. While not every new addition works, the game’s new open zones are a treat, and the Doomslayer’s arsenal is still incredibly fun to run around with.”
Our Revenge of the Savage Planet review calls the game “a cheery and densely-packed co-op metroidvania that’s here for a good time, not a long time.”

Recent Reddit Post Believes the Location Might Have Been Featured in ‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ Teaser Trailer
Recent Reddit Post Believes the Location Might Have Been Featured in ‘The Elder Scrolls 6’ Teaser Trailer
We’ve been waiting to hear more about The Elder Scrolls 6 since its initial announcement in 2018. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely Bethesda will reveal anything about the highly anticipated RPG in 2025 either. As confirmed by the studio, the RPG is still in early production.
Due to a lack of information on the game, players have spent years constantly analyzing every single frame of the 2018 teaser. They’ve come up with wild theories and speculations suggesting where the game could take place. Now, it is believed that we could see Hew’s Bane being the primary setting for Elder Scrolls 6. Let’s take a look at everything we know about this region.
Hew’s Bane will be the perfect setting for Elder Scrolls 6
User LegateZanUjcic has taken to r/ElderScrolls and presented a compelling theory suggesting that the Elder Scrolls 6 teaser could be hinting at the western coast of Hew’s Bane. They’ve pointed out the rocky wastes and distant mountains that align with the environment of Hew’s Bane, which can be seen in the official Elder Scrolls map.
According to the Redditor, the foreground may be the western edge of the Dragontail Mountains, and those in the background might be near Taneth. The visible crater in the teaser might be the impact side of Voldendrug, suggesting that the city in the distance might be Gilane.
Hew’s Bane is a location that is unfamiliar to a lot of Elder Scrolls fans, even the hardcore ones. It’s a small but rich peninsula that can be found in the southernmost region of Hammerfell in the Elder Scrolls Universe. Originally, Bethesda introduced players to this location with Elder Scrolls Online, and it’s stated to be the home of Abah’s Landing.
What’s with the place’s name? Well, it’s derived from Prince Hew, who couldn’t clear the region’s dense jungles and left another harsh, rocky landscape in Tamreil. The most popular faction here is the Thieves Guild, which uses Hew’s Bane as its headquarters. The region is right next to cities such as Gilane.
Have we finally found the actual setting for Elder Scrolls 6? (Image via Microsoft)
Considering the evidence the Redditor has put forward in their theory, there’s a good chance that Elder Scrolls 6 might take place in Hew’s Bane. Let’s not forget that it’s been rumored that the game might feature naval warfare, and Hew’s Bane, a region known for its seafaring activities, would be a perfect fit.
Don’t worry, as Elder Scrolls 6 is still happening
Bethesda is working on the next entry in the RPG franchise. (Image via Microsoft)
Even though Bethesda has repeatedly stated that Elder Scrolls 6‘s production is in full swing, gamers have been worried. It’s been almost seven years since the title’s first release, and we’ve never seen anything else about the game.
A few screenshots or another teaser would’ve been enough to satisfy the community. Since we haven’t seen any of these, some in the fandom believe that Elder Scrolls 6 is just a dream that’s never going to happen.
However, that’s not the case, as confirmed by the man himself, Todd Howard. Bethesda recently dropped Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, and during the reveal, Howard confirmed that the studio is working hard on the “sixth chapter” of the franchise.
All we can hope is that Elder Scrolls 6 doesn’t fall into the same trap as Starfield. The space sci-fi was supposed to be Bethesda’s next big IP, but it was nothing short of a disaster.
With that said, where do you think Elder Scrolls 6 could take place? Let us know in the comments below.

Apple WWDC 2025 to Be Held From June 9 to June 13: All You Need to Know
Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 is set to take place in June, Apple announced on Tuesday. In line with the previous years, the annual developer conference is set to take place at Apple Park in California, while those around the world can watch all the developments unfolding via an online telecast of the event. WWDC 2025 promises to offer a deep dive into the tools, technologies, and software features that the company is working on for the coming year.
WWDC 2025 Date, Time and Expected Announcements
Apple announced that WWDC 2025 will take place between June 9 and June 13 and will be held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. It will kick off with an in-person keynote session hosted by Apple CEO Tim Cook at 9 am PT (10 pm IST) on June 9. The keynote will preview all the groundbreaking updates and changes coming to various Apple platforms such as iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, watchOS, and tvOS over the course of the year.
The company says enthusiasts and developers can apply to attend the keynote session via the Apple Developer app and the company’s website, although seats are limited. Winners of Apple’s Swift Student challenge are also eligible to apply for the in-person experience, as per the company.
After the keynote, Apple will host a Platforms State of the Union for a deeper dive into the advances made in software and platforms. In total, WWDC 2025 is confirmed to bring over 100 technical sessions with Apple experts, enabling developers to gain information about the latest technologies and frameworks. They will also be able to access guides and documentation which detail the conference’s biggest announcements and highlights.
The Cupertino-based tech giant says Apple Developer Program members and Apple Developer Enterprise Program members can connect directly with Apple experts through online group labs and also take advantage of one-on-one appointments for guidance on Apple Intelligence, design, developer tools, Swift, and more.
Although the company has remained tight-lipped about the announcements, previous editions have given us an idea of what to expect from WWDC 2025. *** and other allies losing patience with Israel over Gaza war
*** and other allies losing patience with Israel over Gaza war
After more than a year and a half of the war in Gaza, Britain appears to have finally lost patience with Israel.
Speaking to MPs, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Foreign Secretary David Lammy sounded genuinely angry.
Sir Keir said the level of suffering in Gaza, especially among innocent children, was “intolerable”.
Israel’s decision to allow in a small amount of aid was, he said, “utterly inadequate”.
The prime minister added he was “horrified” by Israel’s decision to escalate its military campaign.
Lammy employed similar language, saying the situation in Gaza was “abominable”.
He condemned as “monstrous” the suggestion by Israel’s hardline finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, that Gaza should be cleansed of its civilian population.
Israel’s actions, Lammy said, were isolating Israel from friends and partners around the world and “damaging the image of the State of Israel in the eyes of the world”.
Nor is Britain alone in expressions of outrage or threats of concrete action.
The EU says it’s reviewing its association agreement with Israel, which governs its political and economic relationship.
Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, said a “strong majority” of members favoured looking again at the 25-year-old agreement.
On Monday night, Britain joined France and Canada in signing a strongly worded joint statement, condemning Israel’s military action and warning of “further concrete actions” if the humanitarian situation in Gaza did not approve.
Another statement followed, signed by 27 donor countries including the ***, condemning a new Gaza aid delivery model being promoted by Israel.
The model aims to replace existing humanitarian agencies, including the UN, with civilian contractors, backed by the Israeli military.
The UN and its donors say the new model is poorly conceived and politically motivated, incapable of replacing the decades-long tried and tested international humanitarian ecosystem in Gaza.
A representative of one of the aid agencies operating in Gaza told me the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation scheme was “totally premature,” adding that Israel had never provided evidence to back up its assertion that ****** was responsible for the widespread diversion of aid.
One western diplomat, quoted in Israel’s liberal Haaretz newspaper, described the new model as a “crazy plan and absolute madness”.
During a passionate debate in the House of Commons, Lammy clashed with his Conservative opposite number, Dame Priti Patel, who suggested ****** was benefitting from international criticism of Israel.
Lammy accused her of refusing to confront the reality of what was happening in Gaza.
Other MPs said Britain wasn’t going far enough, with several suggesting, once again, that the time has come for Britain to recognise a ************ state.
The government’s view is that taking such a significant step for purely symbolic reasons wouldn’t actually change anything.
But with France possibly poised to recognise Palestine at a conference it’s co-hosting with Saudi Arabia next month, some are hoping Britain follows suit.
Even if it doesn’t, it’s clear that Israel’s supporters are increasingly exasperated, and fearful that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s latest military operation, dubbed “Gideon’s Chariots” is poised to heap misery on Gaza just as the area’s two million civilians face the very real prospect of starvation.
Even US President Donald Trump has expressed impatience, warning that “a lot of people are starving” as he concluded his regional tour last week.
Netanyahu’s government is losing support, even among some of Israel’s staunchest allies.
At a World Jewish Congress conference in Jerusalem, the organisation’s president Ronald Lauder challenged Israel’s foreign minister Gideon Sa’ar.
“All the best things Israel does are being destroyed by Smotrich because his statement about starving the Gazans and causing destruction is broadcast all over the world,” Lauder said, asking why Netanyahu does nothing to stop him.
According to veteran Israeli journalist Ben Caspit, Sa’ar’s answer was brief.
“Duly noted.”
