  2. Of Course South Street Seaport Should Have a Whaling Tavern Of Course South Street Seaport Should Have a Whaling Tavern The restaurateurs Jon Neidich and Craig Atlas of Golden Age Hospitality, known for the Nines, Acme and Elvis, have added this airy trattoria style bar and restaurant with rattan chairs that spill out onto the sidewalk, ready for a warm-weather spritz or sgroppino. It’s a collaboration with Paradise Projects. The executive chef, Nicole Gajadhar, taps a familiar Italian playbook for fried zucchini, rigatoni with sausage and peas, beef carpaccio, veal Milanese for two and ricotta cheesecake. 5 Avenue A (East Houston Street), barbianchinyc.com. Mustard Indian Eatery There’s a tandoor on view in the open kitchen, the walls are faced with subway tiles, and light floods in from the windows at this Indian spot. It combines the tried-and-true — butter chicken, tandoori shrimp, seekh kebab, assorted biryanis, gulab jamun — with less familiar fare like slow-cooked goat with chiles, Goan shrimp curry and fish in a banana leaf. A varied array of chutneys are offered. The owner, Ruhel Amin, has other Indian restaurants, and has appointed Sharmeen Rahman and Lisha Khondokar to be chefs. The restaurant is B.Y.O.B., unless you prefer the house’s Calcutta lemonade. (Wednesday) 2113 Frederick Douglass Boulevard (114th Street), 212-470-1568, mustardnyc.com. 3. Bangladesh’s ailing former prime minister returns home Bangladesh’s ailing former prime minister returns home Ailing former prime minister Khaleda Zia has returned to Bangladesh after four months of medical treatment in London, drawing large crowds of flag-waving supporters and reigniting the opposition’s call for national elections. Khaleda, 79, who leads the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), arrived on a special air ambulance arranged by Qatar’s emir. Greeted by senior BNP leaders on Tuesday, she smiled and waved from her wheelchair as thousands of supporters, some draped in Bangladesh and BNP flags, lined the streets leading to her residence. Red and green banners fluttered in the air, with chants of “The leader of the nation has returned!” echoing through the crowd. Khaleda’s return adds fresh momentum to the BNP’s demand for elections by December. The country has been under an interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus since Sheikh Hasina was removed as prime minister and fled to India in August following deadly protests. Yunus pledged reforms and said the poll could be delayed until 2026. The two women’s feud, known as the “Battle of the Begums” using the South Asian term of respect for a woman of high rank, has loomed over Bangladeshi politics for decades. Khaleda has long suffered from liver cirrhosis, heart problems, diabetes and arthritis. Her legal troubles under Hasina’s government, including a 17-year prison sentence in corruption cases, were denounced by her party as politically driven. She was released in 2020 on condition that she would not travel abroad. 4. Rockstar Details Nine of Grand Theft Auto VI’s Presumably Many, Many Characters Rockstar Details Nine of Grand Theft Auto VI’s Presumably Many, Many Characters Rockstar Games surprise released a new trailer this morning for Grand Theft Auto VI (which was recently delayed to next year), but that’s not all it shared about the game today. Alongside the trailer, Rockstar overhauled the game’s website and added all kinds of new details about the the game’s locations and some of the characters you will meet in the game, including its protagonists. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the aforementioned protagonists. Jason is an army vet who works in the Keys for local drug runners, but wants to try something new. Lucia’s father trained her as a fighter her whole life and it was apparently fighting for her family that landed her in jail. But in both the GTA VI trailers, we see her regaining her freedom. Brian Heder is the other character we see early in the trailer. He is an older gentleman that Jason works for. Apparently he and his wife Lori manage the drug running business together. Though it was not confirmed in the trailer, Brian sounds like he is voiced by Stephen Root (Barry, King of the Hill). Cal Hampton is also seen speaking periodically in the trailer. He is apparently a friend of Jason’s and also works for Brian. Though similarly not confirmed in the trailer, it sounds like he is voiced by Saturday Night Live‘s Bobby Moynihan. Boobie Ike is a well-known and successful Vice City entrepreneur who built a number of legitimate businesses from his crime roots. Dre’quan Priest is a musician who is “more of a ******** than a gangster,” according to his bio. Bae-Luxe and Roxy together go by Real Dimez. They are high school friends and are heavily invested in social media. And finally, Raul Bautista is a charming and cunning bank robber. There will be undoubtedly be many more characters in Grand Theft Auto VI when it releases May 26 of next year, but for now, this is a substantial look at who we can expect to meet in the game. For more GTA 6, you can rewatch its reveal trailer and see what Game Informer’s resident Floridians thought about Rockstar’s adaptation of their home state. 5. It’s Not Too Late to Jump on These Under-the-Radar Momentum Plays It’s Not Too Late to Jump on These Under-the-Radar Momentum Plays Those subscribing to a momentum investing strategy tend to believe that stocks experiencing price increases tend to rally, so long as both internal and external conditions don’t change. Of course, no rally can continue forever, so investors may measure momentum across different timeframes. The key goal for a momentum investor is to identify a possible target and enter a position while there is still potential for upside. Three stocks across multiple sectors may draw the attention of investors looking for a momentum play based on their share price improvement over short, medium, and long timeframes. These companies may be overlooked by investors more broadly because they are not necessarily the biggest names within their sectors or industries, but they are each supported by several positive analyst ratings. Online-Focused Beauty Firm Beat Earnings Expectations, Continues to Grow Oddity Tech Ltd (NASDAQ:) is a tech company that partners with the beauty and wellness industry to build digital-first brands along with an AI-based online consumer platform. Five out of eight analysts that have rated Oddity have given it a Buy signal. Oddity shares trended upward throughout most of April, but they spiked in the month’s final days after a highly successful first-quarter earnings report. It is up about 70% in the last month and 53% year-to-date (YTD). The company topped analyst expectations for earnings per share (EPS) by six cents, boosted revenue by 27% year-over-year (YOY), reported a strong gross margin of 74.9%, and raised forward guidance. Often, investors will shy away from a company with a significant share price boost due to a positive earnings report, as these gains can be short-lived. However, Oddity presents numerous signs that these trends could continue. The firm is a leader in the shift toward online shopping in the beauty industry, which appears to be picking up pace. Its IL MAKIAGE brand is a standout, and the company looks on target to achieve its goal of $1 billion in revenue by 2028. While Oddity is heavily exposed to the U.S. market, and the potential for tariffs that could impact demand and prices, it is rapidly expanding into other areas, particularly in Europe. Despite Recent Downward Trend, NeoGenomics Builds Momentum With Raised Guidance and Strategic Acquisition ******* and cytogenetics testing service provider NeoGenomics Inc (NASDAQ:) has a Buy rating from five Wall Street analysts and a consensus price target more than 85% above current price levels. This may suggest that the company’s recent reversal of a downward trend—it climbed by 22% from April 30 to mid-day on May 5 after falling from a one-year high achieved in January—has the potential to continue. NeoGenomics’ share price drop in late April is likely attributable to the firm’s lackluster earnings report, in which losses per share were wider than analysts predicted and revenue missed expectations. Though volatility may be in store for this firm as its clients, which include academic institutions and researchers as well as oncologists and others in the medical field, wrestle with the impacts of canceled research funding, NeoGenomics could fill an important niche in the midst of shifting federal government policies. The company may have anticipated that opportunity when it raised full-year 2025 guidance in the latest earnings report. Another driver of this optimism is likely NeoGenomics’ recent completion of its purchase of Pathline, which should both broaden its geographical range in the northeastern United States and deepen its portfolio of molecular and hematology-oncology testing services. Unanimous Buy Ratings, 19% Upside as Data Center ***** and Fuels Backlog Surge Mechanical and electrical services provider Comfort Systems USA Inc (NYSE:). has a unanimous Buy rating from all five analysts reviewing the firm, plus 19% upside potential based on a consensus price target of $517.60. The company’s shares have shot upwards in the last month, climbing by about 40%. Comfort Systems has seen its backlog blossom in recent quarters thanks to the CHIPS Act and major spending pushes on data centers, a key focus of its operations. This shows no signs of slowing in the Trump administration, as the company’s backlog grew by almost $1 billion from the end of 2024 to the conclusion of this year’s first quarter. With anticipated revenue growth for 2025 in the double digits, Comfort Systems could get a further boost if the administration’s efforts to restore manufacturing operations to the United States are successful. 6. House GOP leaders look to reassure conference on momentum amid delays on Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” House GOP leaders look to reassure conference on momentum amid delays on Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” Washington — House GOP leaders stressed early this week that the budget package central to President Trump’s agenda remains on track even as they acknowledged a delay that comes amid simmering disagreements in the Republican conference that have threatened to stunt progress on reconciliation. “It just made sense for us to push pause for a week to make sure that we do this right,” House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, said Tuesday at his weekly news conference. The committee work on budget reconciliation officially kicked off last week, as a number of panels considered their portions of the major package, which is aimed at addressing the president’s border security, defense, energy and tax priorities. But a handful of key committees have yet to schedule votes on their portions of the budget package, after Johnson said leaders made a decision to push the markups back a week, while disagreements persist over some of the most divisive elements of the forthcoming legislation — like an expansion to the state and local tax deduction and Medicaid cuts. Johnson on Tuesday expressed confidence that the lower chamber would complete its work by Memorial Day, a day after acknowledging to reporters that he put the package on a “very ambitious time table” and that the self-imposed deadline could slip past the holiday. “We can pass that by Memorial Day. That was our original timeframe,” he said. Speaker of the House Rep. Mike Johnson arrives for a House Republican conference meeting at the U.S. Capitol on May 6, 2025 in Washington, DC. Andrew Harnik / Getty Images Committees face a May 9 deadline to complete their committee work under the budget resolution that the House and Senate adopted in April. But Johnson said the plan is to have committees complete their work and send the components of the bill to the House Budget Committee, which will incorporate the recommendations for the government’s spending into a massive legislative package, by the end of next week. The House Energy and Commerce Committee had been targeting a Wednesday markup, but the panel has yet to schedule one. The House Ways and Means Committee and Agriculture Committee have yet to complete their work as well. The Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees Medicaid, is tasked with identifying the biggest spending cuts — at least $880 billion over the next decade. The effort has become among the most closely watched in the reconciliation process, as Republicans look to dispel concerns about cuts to the popular entitlement program, stressing that they intend solely to root out waste, fraud and abuse, while some GOP hard-liners seek deeper spending cuts. Meanwhile, disagreements over the state and local tax deduction, known as SALT, have come before the Ways and Means Committee, as conservatives oppose a push to increase the cap from Republicans in blue states. Still, Ways and Means Committee chairman Jason Smith, a Missouri Republican, said Sunday on Fox News that House Republicans will “get the job done,” adding that “failure is simply not an option.” “We’re going to find the equilibrium point on SALT that no one will be totally delighted with, but it’ll solve the equation, and we’ll get it done,” Johnson said Monday, referring to the deduction by its acronym. Johnson said Monday that he had spoken with Mr. Trump that day about budget reconciliation, and he noted that leadership is meeting with groups of members in the GOP conference on Tuesday as they try to push forward on the process. At his Tuesday news conference, Johnson was asked whether he has made assurances to the moderate and conservative factions of his conference that he can’t keep. “I don’t make promises that I can’t keep. This is a consensus building operation,” he said. “We’ve been working really hard to take all the input and find that kind of equilibrium point where everybody is at least satisfied. Some people are not going to be elated by every provision of the bill. It’s impossible. The bill is one big, beautiful bill.” House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, a Louisiana Republican, told members in their morning meeting that they need to “focus on the totality of the bill and not just individual details,” according to Johnson. But Scalise also alluded to the plan slipping beyond Memorial Day, telling reporters Tuesday after the Republican conference meeting that “we’re on track to continue to deliver on this one big, beautiful bill and get it through the process and ideally to get it on the president’s desk in June.” Lawmakers also cast doubt on whether they could meet the Memorial Day deadline. “That’s wishful thinking, I guess,” Rep. Tim Burchett, a Tennessee Republican, said. “But you know, when I raised the speed limit in Tennessee to 70, I asked for 85. And 70 is what I wanted, so.” Rep. Ralph Norman, a South Carolina Republican, said “the fact that we’re having the conversation is good,” but he added that “we’ve got to act.” Jaala Brown contributed to this report. 7. Why Energy Stocks Like Exxon and Hess Are Back in Focus Why Energy Stocks Like Exxon and Hess Are Back in Focus Sometimes, the market experiences a new turn of events, creating opportunities for investors who know what to watch out for in their market scans. Of course, these plays only become obvious when it is too late to act upon them. Today, it seems that the opportunity is spread out across a multi-year time horizon for the energy sector due to some recent events in Europe. During the last week of April 2025, Portugal and Spain experienced a power outage due to overreliance on renewable energy. The world realized that it is too early in the adoption curve to start fully relying on renewable energy like solar and wind, since most power grids worldwide aren’t developed enough to withstand this sudden change. After this event, things became clear about the state of global energy sources. Infrastructure still relies on traditional fossil fuel sources, which is where leaders like Exxon Mobil (NYSE:) and other international players like Hess (NYSE:) come into play. They deliver retail investors with an opportunity that might span several years into the future, and it seems markets are aware of this. Confidence is Still High For Exxon Mobil Exxon Mobil’s highly awaited quarterly earnings report was released. It showed a better-than-expected turnout despite the multi-month decline in prices, which could have acted as a major headwind for its bottom-line earnings per share (EPS). However, investors can look to one factor to reiterate their confidence in the company’s future despite lower oil prices. That factor is management’s decision to maintain the company’s share buyback program despite a slump in energy markets. In any case, share buybacks have two implications. First, they mean that company insiders believe the stock’s valuation is significantly below the perceived fair value, creating an opportunity to compound and deploy some of the company’s excess free cash flow (operating cash flow minus capital expenditures). Another implication is that there is a pretty strong outlook for higher prices ahead, something Wall Street analysts agree with. Particularly those from Barclays, who reiterated their Overweight rating on Exxon Mobil stock as of April 2025, placing a valuation target of up to $130 per share on it as well. That’s 23% upside from today. Capital is Warming Up to Hess Stock Understanding that this European blackout event only creates awareness, or a sort of warning, for the current belief that modern economies can part with fossil fuels, some new willing buyers have been coming into Hess stock lately. Those from the Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:) decided to boost their holdings in Hess stock by as much as 22.2% as of late April 2024. This new allocation brought the bank’s net position to a high of $572.1 million today, but more importantly, it gives investors a new sign of confidence in this stock’s future upside potential. It seems these institutional buyers are not alone in this sudden realization. Wall Street analysts now feel comfortable with forecasting up to $3.18 in EPS for Hess going into the final quarter of 2025, a significant boost of 63% from today’s reported $1.95 in EPS. That being said, investors should know that wherever EPS goes, so does the stock price, justifying the fundamental growth thesis as well as the recent institutional buying. A Worthy Mention in The Oil Race Now, these industry giants are some of the obvious choices in any bullish take for energy. However, other areas of the sector are worth taking a second look into, such as the ones tasked with providing the necessary machinery and equipment for these giants to be able to source their oil in the first place. That is where drilling equipment maker and leaser Transocean (NYSE:) becomes a reasonable target to consider. Being a smaller company, Transocean provides investors with an asymmetrical bet, as downside potential is severely limited while the upside promise is multiples larger. Now that this stock has fallen to a new 52-week low, the risk-to-reward profile definitely agrees with this asymmetric nature today, especially as Wall Street analysts see a consensus price target of up to $4.6 per share, calling for as much as 98.5% upside from where the company has fallen to today. 10. Grand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer just dropped, and it was worth the wait Grand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer just dropped, and it was worth the wait Rockstar Games released a second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 on Tuesday morning following news of the game’s delay last week. The two and a half minute trailer is entirely story-driven, giving us a much deeper look at its Bonnie and Clyde narrative. This is the first look we’ve gotten at Grand Theft Auto 6 since December 2023. Back then, Rockstar revealed a trailer that acted as an reintroduction to Vice City, the open-world game’s Miami-inspired setting. That clip largely focused on Florida satire, with references to real stories from the state. The new trailer gives us a deeper look at the crime saga’s new story, as well as a ******* introduction to its dual protagonists. The trailer begins with Jason picking up Lucia from prison. The two vow to start a new life together over beers at the beach. It doesn’t take long for them to get back into the criminal world though, as the trailer has them on the run from the cops in typical GTA fashion. It’s a very cinematic trailer that makes the sequel look like Miami Vice meets Bonnie and Clyde. It’s a visually impressive clip too, showing off incredibly detailed interiors bathed in golden Florida sunshine. Fine print in the trailer notes that it was entirely captured on PS5. Rockstar Games Rockstar Games Rockstar Games Rockstar Games On top of all that, Rockstar updated the game’s website with a buffet of new information. The official site now includes full character bios for its cast and descriptions for every playable area in the game. The big revelation here is that GTA6 will go beyond Vice City. Players can go to Leonida Keys, the swampy Grassrivers, the industrial town of Ambrosia, and more. The website features tons of new screenshots showing off each area. Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on May 26, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It was originally slated to release this fall, but was delayed last week. 11. Surface Laptop 13 is Microsoft’s lightest yet, with MacBook-beating battery life Surface Laptop 13 is Microsoft’s lightest yet, with MacBook-beating battery life Table of Contents Table of Contents How does it stand out? What else is on offer? Microsoft is changing the design language of its laptops, and it seems the target is squarely Apple’s MacBook Air. The latest from the Redmond giant is a new 13-inch Surface Laptop, which undercuts Apple’s popular entry-level laptop with a sticker price of $899. The company says its latest offering is the thinnest and lightest Surface Laptop yet. The new Copilot+ machine has a footprint smaller than the MacBook Air, but Microsoft’s laptop is also slightly lighter, as well, though not quite as slim as its rival. How does it stand out? Instead of the sharp sloping lines and flat sides that we have seen on Microsoft’s mainline laptops so far, the new 13-inch Surface Laptop embraces curved sides. The build employs anodized aluminum chassis, and you will be able to snag it in Ocean, Violet, and Platinum colors. Nadeem Sarwar / Digital Trends Unlike its Apple competition, the 13-inch Surface Laptop offers a pair of USB-C ports alongside a full-sized USB-A port, too. The biggest improvement, however, is the battery life. Microsoft is claiming a per-charge mileage of 23 hours, which even races ahead of the 15-inch Surface Laptop and the MacBook Air. Rocking the Copilot+ label, this one draws power from Qualcomm’s 8-core Snapdragon X Plus silicon processor, paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Starting at $899, the new Surface Laptop will go on ***** on May 20, though the pre-orders have already gone live. For enterprise customers, it will be up for grabs in July. What else is on offer? The new Microsoft laptop offers a 13-inch full-HD screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio and multi-touch support. But compared to its 13.8-inch and 15-inch siblings, the display refresh rate has been dropped from 120Hz to 60Hz. Nadeem Sarwar / Digital Trends It seems Microsoft was on a quest to create the perfect anti-MacBook running Windows 11. To that end, the storage options still start at 256 GB, but only go up to 512 GB. There’s a full-HD Surface Studio Camera for video calling duties, with support for auto-framing, portrait, and a bunch of creative background effects. Charging is handled via the USB-C port with a peak output of 60W. With the new Surface Laptop, Microsoft is also introducing a handful of next-gen AI experiences such as Recall, Click to Do, enhanced Windows Search, and Live Captions, among others. On the repairability front, the company says nearly all components have been designed to allow replacement work. 12. Uncertainty Creates Opportunity for Tyson Foods Investors Uncertainty Creates Opportunity for Tyson Foods Investors Tyson Foods (NYSE:)’ stock price action retreated by more than 7% following the Q2 release and guidance update, creating an opportunity for investors. The market’s knee-jerk reaction to guidance put the share price back to long-term lows, where support is still evident. The reaction is knee-jerk because guidance is solid, reaffirmed at previously stated levels, with no mention of tariff impact. The lack of mention spooked the market; investors should instead focus on the earnings quality, its effect on the balance sheet, and the sustainability of capital return. The market for Tyson stock is still supported at critical levels because of its improving earnings quality, deep value, and attractive capital return, which includes sufficient buybacks to offset dilution and a robust dividend. In early May, the dividend was worth $2.00 or more than a 3.5% yield and was sustainable because of the payout ratio, cash flow, outlook for earnings growth, and balance sheet. The distribution is also likely to grow in 2025 and in later years. Tyson has increased its payout for over a dozen years, so it is tracking in the right direction, and has the financials and outlook to support it. Tyson’s Strengthened Cash Flow Reflected in the Balance Sheet Tyson struggled in Q2 along with many other consumer-focused businesses, but navigated the quarter well. The company’s revenue came in at $13.07 billion, relatively flat compared to the prior year, with pricing increases offsetting volume weakness in many areas. Revenue also fell short of MarketBeat’s reported consensus, but earnings strengths offset the weaknesses. Segmentally, only one of five produced growth, but trends are expected to change. The guidance includes a forecast for growth in three segments in Q3, and the long-term forecast is for growth to resume this year and be sustained next year. Regarding earnings, adjusted margin widened in three of the five segments and is expected to remain solid as the year progresses. Adjusted operating margin widened by 70 basis points, producing significantly improved cash flow and aiding a leveraged 48% increase in adjusted earnings. Adjusted earnings also outpaced consensus by 1000 basis points, leading management to affirm its outlook for the year and lean harder into debt reduction. Tyson management has been aggressively reducing the company’s debt. Debt fell nearly $0.750 billion in Q2, bringing the year-to-date total to 15%. This leaves the company in a solid position with debt-to-equity running at less than 0.5x and well below long-term targets. The company may not increase its dividend distribution aggressively, but increases are likely. Tyson Stock Falls to Low-End of Target Range: Rebound Likely Tyson’s stock price fell to the low end of the analyst’s target range following the Q2 release, but will likely revert to the higher end by the end of the year. The sentiment trends include rating upgrades and a firming conviction in the $61.75 consensus target. It offers a 10% upside in early May and could be a low target, assuming upcoming results are as expected. Risks for Tyson include rising input costs, including feed, and their impact on profits. The beef segment is already running at a loss in 2025, and demand is also expected to be an issue. Consumers are trading down from beef to lower-cost meats such as chicken, as seen in the Q2 results. The Tyson stock price action was tepid in Q2 2025 and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future. However, the stock price is unlikely to fall below or significantly below the $54 level, providing an opportunity for investors to build or continue building positions. Catalysts for higher share prices include sustained performance, capital returns, and the potential for easing macroeconomic headwinds and consumer shifts. 14. The Switch 2 version of Elden Ring comes with a load of new content The Switch 2 version of Elden Ring comes with a load of new content Get ready for another romp through the Lands Between, because the Switch 2 version of Elden Ring is getting two brand-new character classes. The FromSoftware Games Event was held today in Tokyo where FromSoftware unveiled the Knights of Ides and the Heavy Knight. In addition, players will also (finally!) be able to change their horse’s look, a feature that has previously only been available through mods. FromSoftware didn’t share details on how the classes would play, but said it would give players even more options to choose from and new ways to play the game. We can make a few educated guesses based on other games, though. Heavy Knight will likely be a highly defensive but slower class, but Knight of Ides is anyone’s guess. Players will also be able to find four new sets of armor and weapons throughout the world, along with various combat skills. From Software And if you don’t want to pick up yet another copy of Elden Ring, here’s great news: all of the content announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 will come to other platforms through the Tarnished Pack DLC. FromSoftware kept quiet on a release date, but we assume the Tarnished Pack will release alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 version. When Elden Ring launches on Nintendo Switch 2, it will also include the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will serve as a solid entry point for new players with a load of additional content, and it will likely help drive Elden Ring’s already record-breaking sales even higher. Unfortunately, it seems like Switch 2 players will miss out on Elden Ring: Nightreign. There are currently no known plans to launch the multiplayer-focused title on Nintendo’s latest console, although Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC players will be able to dive in on May 20, 2025. 15. We just got our first glimpse of AMD’s RX 9060 XT, but many questions remain We just got our first glimpse of AMD’s RX 9060 XT, but many questions remain The start of the year was littered with some of the best graphics cards (although, admittedly, they weren’t really up for grabs due to the state of the market). Now, it’s time for the mainstream GPUs to make an appearance. AMD’s RX 9060 XT is one such GPU that many gamers are waiting for, and we just spotted it in a retail listing, indicating the launch might not be too far off. Spotted by VideoCardz, the GPU broke cover at a Brazilian retailer, Terabyteshop. The Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 9060 Gaming OC was the only model listed, but it came with an official-looking AMD blurb and a spec sheet, although the most important detail was missing: The price. First, let’s dig into what we do know, and then we can discuss what we still need to learn. The RX 9060 XT comes with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, and although the spec sheet failed to mention that, most leakers expect a narrow 128-bit bus. The maximum resolution is listed as 7,680 x 4,320, with support for up to four displays. The card supports DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.6, comes with two DisplayPort 2.1a and two HDMI 2.1a connectors, and uses only a single 8-pin power connector. Despite that fact, the spec sheet still calls for a power requirement of 850 watts, which sounds way overkill for a graphics card of this caliber, so we could be dealing with a mistake in the specifications. VideoCardz Of course, until the card is officially released, we can’t take these specs at face value — but this source seems pretty legitimate, so a lot of it might be true. With that said, we’re still dealing with a bunch of question marks. For starters, what’s the memory interface like? What’s the maximum clock speed? Most of all, how much will this GPU cost? AMD’s RX 9070 XT struck a goldmine by offering great value for the money. Unfortunately, once the initial stock of MSRP-priced GPUs was all sold out, the card drastically increased in price. If AMD can offer a steady supply of the RX 9060 XT at around $300 or below, it could be a hit, but the “steady supply” part of it all is what I’m worried about. AMD has yet to officially launch the card. Rumor has it that the RX 9060 XT will be officially announced on May 21 during Computex 2025. 16. Israel Strikes Syria Near Damascus as Extremist Attacks and Sharia Spread Israel Strikes Syria Near Damascus as Extremist Attacks and Sharia Spread NORTHEAST SYRIA – Israel is responding to growing unrest inside Syria as tensions between local fighters and pro-government forces are increasing. Israeli drones carried out a strike near Damascus, calling it a “warning operation” to protect the Druze faith community. Gunmen patrolled the streets of Damascus last week, following a deadly confrontation between local Druze gunmen and forces loyal to the Assad regime. At least ten people were killed, highlighting the deep mistrust and lack of control that still plagues the Damascus suburbs more than a decade into Syria’s civil war. Local resident Adnan Barakat said, “We are afraid because there are outlaw gangs. They are harming our nation, of course we are afraid, because there’s nothing to deter them. Security forces are coming here… but the problem is these gangs are out of control.” Officials announced a truce the next day, pledging to compensate victims and prosecute the perpetrators. Many here doubt it will last, pointing to a long history of broken promises and failed ceasefires. Khaled Alhalabi, another resident, said, “There are still attacks on Druze villages and areas. To be honest, when we fight for our community, we are fighting for Syria. We are not fighting for the Druze sect—this is our nation.” Resident Abu Tarek Zaaour said, “Why does this keep happening every now and then? It’s as if there’s no state or government in charge. They need to establish security checkpoints, especially in areas where there are tensions.” The unrest wasn’t isolated. Just outside the capital, another clash left over a dozen dead, most of them Syrian security personnel. Israel later confirmed a drone strike, targeting what it called an extremist group preparing attacks on the Druze population. The operation marks the first time Israel has directly struck HTS forces—the Islamic terrorist group that ousted dictator Bashar al-Assad—inside Syria. The move is seen as a warning as the militant HTS group attempts to expand its reach amid growing chaos. Here in Syria’s northeast, tensions are just as high. Kurds, Christians, Yezidis, and even Arab communities are united in rejecting HTS and any push to replace Assad with Abu Mohammad al-Julani. For now, this part of the country remains under Kurdish control, but locals say they’re prepared to resist any takeover. That resistance could set the stage for future conflict. The overthrow of the Assad regime last December left a power vacuum here, and Syria is becoming a patchwork of competing factions. Extremist groups like HTS are instituting harsh Islamic Sharia law in areas they control—often at the point of a gun. But with local communities resisting, and outside powers like Israel stepping in, the next phase of Syria’s conflict may be even more volatile. ***Please sign up for CBN newsletters to ensure you receive the latest news from a distinctly Christian perspective.*** Source link #Israel #Strikes #Syria #Damascus #Extremist #Attacks #Sharia #Spread Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]
  17. Okay, Grand Theft Auto 6 has finally earned my attention Okay, Grand Theft Auto 6 has finally earned my attention Long before it was even formally announced, Grand Theft Auto 6 has been one of the most anticipated games of all time — if not the most. The hype for it has been historic, with interest in the game becoming its own industry of speculative content and fake leaks. One trailer back in December 2023 seemed to be all that interested players needed to determine that the long-awaited sequel would be an all-time classic before even playing it. But not me. I’ve been on the outskirts of the hype cycle for a decade, scratching my head at the buzz. It’s not that I didn’t think Grand Theft Auto 6 would be a solid open-world game. Rockstar Games has an excellent track record and there’s no reason for me to think that it’ll fumble the ball at its most important moment. But there’s also been no reason for me to think anything about it at all. With only one trailer to go on, I’ve been left to trust Rockstar mostly sight unseen and give in to an unearned cultural consensus. With Grand Theft Auto 6‘s second trailer now out in the world, I finally have a real reason to anticipate its May 26, 2026 release date. The new trailer is an impressive bit of marketing from Rockstar, who needed to recontrol the game’s narrative after a heartbreaking delay last week. To ease that pain, it came out swinging today with a trailer that goes into more depth about the open-world game’s story and a massive website update filled with new details. We now know a few more things. For one, it all looks remarkable. The footage in the trailer was entirely captured on PS5 and it features detailed interior spaces, lifelike humans, and gorgeous lighting that does the sunshine state justice. That’s a good start. From there, we learned much more about its Bonnie and Clyde inspired story. We get a close look at Jason and Lucia’s relationship, as the criminal couple looks to start a new life in Vice City. Tonally, it’s sleek and sexy, drawing some clear inspirations from films like Miami Vice. That’s a far cry from what we saw in the game’s first trailer, which dealt more in the kind of irreverent satire the series is known for. It was hard to get a sense of what GTA6 would actually feel like from that clip, but I have a much better feel for it now. I can get down with a true Hollywood crime drama with a central relationship dynamic that I’m not sure I’ve ever seen in a video game. The game’s website update also gives me plenty more to go off of. Updated character bios give me a better sense of the story. New looks at its playable locations build out the diversity I can expect from its environments. All of these details are tangible reasons to look forward to GTA6, not hollow hype meant to draw me to a foregone conclusion. Rockstar Games Even then, there’s still plenty of question marks left that should keep even the most excited fans back on Earth. The trailer teases an exciting story with a huge world, but still haven’t seen a second of gameplay. The last Grand Theft Auto game launched over a decade ago and the open-world genre has changed significantly since then. Will Rockstar’s latest feel behind the times when it finally launches? I genuinely don’t know and nothing I’ve seen so far really addresses that concern. Even if I’m now more down for the story, Rockstar still has some work to do if its going to fully capture me in its inescapable hype hurricane. That big caveat aside, this is the first time that I’ve really felt like Grand Theft Auto 6 could be something special based on concrete details instead of rumors and assumptions. At the very least, it looks like it’s bringing the energy of a Michael Mann thriller to an open-world game and doing it with some impressive technical chops. There’s still a long year ahead to its release and I won’t be fully won over by anything until I can actually play it, but Rockstar has now earned my attention. That’s one hurdle cleared. 18. I always travel with a pair of AR glasses in my bag – here’s 4 reasons you should too I always travel with a pair of AR glasses in my bag – here’s 4 reasons you should too I’ve been lucky enough to travel a lot in 2025, and on every journey I have had one constant companion: my AR glasses. These aren’t the interactive AR specs Snap, Meta, and Google are promising – the likes of Meta Orion. No, these are AR glasses which connect to a compatible phone, laptop or handheld to virtually suspend your screen in space in front of you. They transport you into a personal movie theater of sorts, with a giant virtual screen only you can see, and are perfect whether you’re flying away on vacation or catching a train for your morning commute. You may like Which should you buy? Well, here’s my personal recommendation… Keeping it Xreal My current glasses of choice are the Xreal One specs, which I combine with the Xreal Beam Pro, and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. This is what the screen looks like through the Xreal glasses (Image credit: Xreal) You can read more in my dedicated Xreal One review, but long story short the glasses offer top-notch visuals while the Beam Pro is a handy Android-powered smartphone-like you can connect the glasses to. The Beam Pro is the star of the show, thanks to its ability to access a plethora of popular streaming services that I can download content from ahead of time. Plus, it acts as a handy alternative to my smartphone, but one which I don’t mind completely draining the charge from. And when it does run low on juice it has a second USB-C port dedicated to recharging the device even while it’s being used for XR experiences. I also love how small these AR glasses are. Even when I’m travelling light, with just a single carry-on, I can always find space for the slim glasses’ carry-case and Beam Pro – even if I have to rely on my trouser and jacket pockets as a last resort. Lastly, these specs feel especially handy for flights, as they allow you to cut yourself off a little more from the aircraft. The in-flight screen is fine, but can’t compete (Image credit: Future / Hamish Hector) You can still spot flight attendants as they walk past, thanks to the translucent outer lenses, but they make it a little easier to forget you’re flying compared to using the screen on the back of the seat in front of you. Ideal for more nervous fliers. Different realities Of course VR headsets offer many of these benefits too. For relaxation and entertainment they’re arguably even better, given the higher-resolution displays offered by many of the best VR headsets. However, the overall package of a VR headset is undeniably more inconvenient (as I discovered first-hand), thanks to their bulk and the fact that they’re more power hungry (which can add insult to injury if it not only takes up significant space in your bag, but also runs out of charge before you land). That’s why these entertainment-focused 3-degrees-of-freedom (3DoF) AR glasses are such a winner. They offer many of the same benefits and fewer disadvantages. You don’t need to pick up a pair of Xreal glasses either, if cost is a concern. The RayNeo Air 3S specs, which also feature on our best smart glasses list, are a superb and affordable option. The RayNeo Air 3S glasses are a solid alternative (Image credit: Future) So if you want an in-flight entertainment system that boasts a private home cinema-like experience, gives you more freedom over the shows and films you can relax with, is compact and easy to carry with you, and will help you forget you’re on an aircraft you need a pair of AR specs. I’m never flying again without mine, and you won’t want to either. What investors are buying ahead of Fed rate meeting What investors are buying ahead of Fed rate meeting The S & P 500 and Nasdaq Composite have recovered their losses since the April 2 tariff announcement. Now, investors are trying to figure out the market implications of the Federal Reserve decision on Wednesday. The CME Group’s FedWatch tool shows a more than 95% chance that the central bank will keep rates at the current 4.25%-4.5% range. However, Wall Street will look for clues on future policy moves, taking queues from Chair Jerome Powell’s comments following the decision. Craig Johnson, chief market technician at Piper Sandler, thinks even neutral commentary from Powell could send stocks lower, as the S & P 500 trades near a resistance level of 5,800. “We could be due for a pullback and a correction back toward a level of 5400, 5500 as we go through the Fed announcement, Fed commentary and everything else that might be the catalyst,” Johnson told CNBC. The tentative outlook ahead of the Fed announcement and tariff uncertainty has led many strategists to take a more defensive stance heading into Wednesday. “The crux of the question is, does the Fed want to risk moving before the 90 day tariff moratorium expires?” pondered Steve Sosnick, chief strategist at Interactive Brokers. “Right now they don’t have enough data to really tell how this is playing out, supply issues, price hikes. It’s not clear they are going to have that data six months from now.” What to buy Keith Lerner, co-chief investment officer at Truist is overweight utilities, financials and communication services sectors going into the Fed decision. XLU YTD mountain XLU year to date “We think even if the economy slows some of these big tech names will continue to do fine,” said Lerner, “Even if the economy slows down, that AI spend is likely to continue. In some ways these big mega cap tech names are acting somewhat more defensive in that there is still secular demand at a time where there is uncertainty.” Utilities are the best-performing sector in the S & P 500 this year, gaining more than 6%. Financials have advanced 2% in that time, while communication services are down 2%. Adam Patti, CEO of VistaShares, which manages the Artificial Intelligence Supercycle ETF (AIS) sees tech and AI focused stocks as a safe play going into the meeting but believes there is also potential for a reacceleration to the upside. “I think the AI trade is going to come back with a vengeance to the upside,” said Patti. “I think there was a major overreaction there. The underlying fundamentals particularly in the AI space remains the same. Most of these large hyperscalers all reaffirmed their capex spending.” Piper Sandler’s Johnson also sees tech as a way to play defense with the potential for upside but believes the opportunities are outside of the Mag Seven. “Software companies look more attractive than semiconductor companies right now,” said Johnson. “I’m definitely going to go out and buy things like Twilio, such as Monday.com.” Additionally, Johnson likes Kratos Defense and Mercury Systems .Malcolm Ethridge, managing partner of Capital Area Group, believes there is an opportunity in short term bonds. “This would definitely be the time I would want to lock in those rates,” said Ethridge, “If I’m a person who is looking for a place to put dollar to work for the short term I would rather lock in those rates before the Fed meeting.” The 2-year Treasury note yield traded at 3.797% on Tuesday. 23. Rockstar Releases Yet Another New GTA 6 Trailer Rockstar Releases Yet Another New GTA 6 Trailer Last week was an absolute nightmare for all gamers out there as it was revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has been hit with a delay. Developer Rockstar Games pushed the title to May 26, 2026, which means players have to wait another whole twelve months to get their hands on the game. Considering the fact that GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated titles of the decade, and Rockstar hadn’t delivered any update on the game since its first trailer, this delay was quite disappointing. Even if there was a delay, players expected Rockstar to drop another trailer or some in-game screenshots to satisfy their itch. Fortunately, Rockstar has answered our prayers. That’s right, the developer has surprise dropped a second trailer for GTA 6. Rockstar Games has finally released a new GTA 6 trailer No one in their wildest dreams could’ve seen Rockstar dropping a second for GTA 6 just a few days after announcing its delay, but here we are. The brand-new trailer is nearly three minutes long and focuses on one of our protagonists, Jason Duval, who’s living his life while Lucia remains behind bars. The trailer shows us a day in Jason’s life, showcasing moments like him working on his rooftop, chatting with another character called Brian, robbing a store, exercising on the beach, and getting a beer. Finally, he makes his way to the prison to retrieve Lucia and jump back into a life of crime. Obviously, the criminal duo attracts the attention of the feds with their actions, which means we’re likely to see some high-stakes development in the storyline. Throughout the trailer, there’s a huge emphasis on the romantic relationship between Lucia and Jason. It’s going to be really interesting to see where this relationship reaches by the end of the game. GTA 6 seems to present a Bonnie and Clyde setup. (Image via Rockstar Games) That’s not all, though; we get to see more glimpses of several new locations in the Florida-inspired Vice City setting of the title. There are probably tons more hidden details in the brand-new GTA 6 trailer, and considering that the game is a whole year away from hitting the shelves, there’s plenty for fans to keep themselves engaged. Why has Rockstar Games delayed GTA 6? The developers need more time to polish the open-world game. (Image via Rockstar Games) Seriously, Rockstar Games gave us absolutely no bits on GTA 6 for more than 500 days, and suddenly revealed that the title will be delayed until 2026. However, there’s a reason why the developer has decided to take this move with one of its biggest projects to date. Rockstar took to Twitter/X and revealed that it needs more time to reach the high standards expected of its acclaimed open-world series. In addition to apologizing for the delay, the company thanked players for their support and patience. Grand Theft Auto VI is now set to release on May 26, 2026. pic.twitter.com/cyeK7GM6Ob — Rockstar Games (@RockstarGames) May 2, 2025 If we don’t get any further delays, GTA 6 will hit shelves 12 years and 8 months after its predecessor’s release in 2013. That’s quite a shocking figure, as Rockstar released the first six entries in the acclaimed franchise in just eleven years. Developing video games isn’t a simple project anymore, as it’s incredibly time-consuming and expensive in today’s day and age. It’s still unknown what GTA 6 might end up costing, but considering the recent industry trends, there’s a chance that it could end up hitting the $100 mark. 25. GTA 6 Trailer Includes PlayStation Controller And Console References GTA 6 Trailer Includes PlayStation Controller And Console References The new GTA 6 trailer that just arrived contains multiple nods to PlayStation. Not only was the footage captured on PlayStation 5, but the trailer itself features what look like DualSense controllers and a stand-in for a PlayStation console. In a sequence where Lucia gets home and greets Jason, we see two DualSense-like controllers sitting on a glass table, with what looks like a mock PS5 in the background. Is that a PlayStation console in the GTA 6 trailer? These details, along with the disclaimer that the footage was captured on PS5, is leading some to believe that Sony and Rockstar Games might have some kind of co-marketing deal for GTA 6. This wouldn’t be totally surprising, of course, as GTA and PlayStation have been linked together for years, going back decades. GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas all first launched exclusively on PlayStation consoles because Sony paid Rockstar for that. While the exclusivity deals ended there–GTA 4 and GTA 5 launched on PlayStation and Xbox at the same time–Sony did continue to work with Rockstar on special deals. For example, GTA 5 was announced for PS4 at Sony’s E3 briefing in 2014. It looks like Jason and Lucia have a PlayStation console and controllers at their house. Following a high-profile delay, GTA 6 is now set for release in May 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the meantime, you can take a look at more than 150 new images from the game in the gallery below. We’ve also rounded up all of the GTA 6 characters and main locations revealed so far.
