  1. EA FC 25 players might have received one of the funniest objectives of all time in Ultimate Team, and it almost feels too bizarre to be true. The latest objective went live during the TOTS promo, which appears pretty normal at first. The fun begins once you start looking more into the tasks. There have been plenty of Squad Battles objectives, but this one seems to have one of the funniest sets of tasks. EA FC 25's Squad Battles Speed Run Objective is too funny to be true The Squad Battles Speed Run objective has seven tasks that you can complete to unlock the rewards. However, the conditions are pretty unique, to say the least. For starters, you'll have to play only in Beginner mode. That's right, only the easiest difficulty is allowed for this objective. Next, you'll have to score an absurd number of goals to complete the objective set. Here are the conditions for all the tasks. Score 10 goals in a single Squad Battles match.Score 20 goals in a single Squad Battles match.Score 25 goals in a single Squad Battles match.Score 30 goals in a single Squad Battles match.Score 35 goals in a single Squad Battles match.Score 40 goals in a single Squad Battles match.Score 45 goals in a single Squad Battles match.[Hidden Content] Scoring goals in Beginner difficulty isn't a tough ask. The defense is non-existent, and the AI won't even try to steal the ball from you. The focus is to grab the ball as quickly as you can, lob the ball to your attackers, and score. Rinse and repeat the process until you have reached the required number. The real challenge will be to score above 40 goals in a single match, which makes the last two tasks quite difficult. You can certainly complete it, but it will be a race to the goal line (45 times at that, which is painstakingly difficult). Sadly, the rewards are too good to miss out on, especially during the TOTS season. Hence, it's time to go back to the roots for the first time since we all started playing the game, and score as many goals as possible. 3. Night City remains one of the greatest and most immersive videogame metropolises ever, and there are hopes and expectations that in Cyberpunk 2077's upcoming sequel, we'll be able to explore even more locations in and around it. Phantom Liberty already gave us a taste of that excitement. Plus, the corners of Night City we already know and love should look more visually impressive than ever, and will have likely evolved a fair bit, too. But CD Projekt Red appears to be feeling in a particularly ambitious mood, as the sequel will not only see us return to Night City, but seemingly to an all-new city as well. That's according to comments made by Mike Pondsmith, the original creator of the Cyberpunk universe. Read the rest of the story... 4. It's the eternal Command and Conquer quandary: GDI or Nod? Putting aside questions of which faction is good, which is evil, the Global Defense Initiative often seems to be better on the offensive, but if you want to dig in and sit behind your Obelisks, it's Kane's team all the way. This is part of what makes C&C one of the all-time RTS greats. Both sides are unique, and feel totally different to play, but they're nevertheless carefully balanced. Inspired by Westwood's classics, Tempest Rising feels like the closest we have to a new Command and Conquer. But balancing between its two factions, the GDF and the Dynasty, has so far been a little askew. Thanks to a big new update, that's all changed. Read the rest of the story... First-person shooters are some of the most immersive games you can play on PC, sliding you into the boots of a range of characters as they go to war, fight zombies, explore space, and go on all kinds of adventures. 19. It looks as though the forthcoming Intel Core Ultra 300 gaming CPU lineup will require you to buy yet another new motherboard, as the company moves to its Nova Lake architecture. Following speculation that the Intel Core Ultra 300 range would be based on a refresh of the Arrow Lake architecture currently used in Core Ultra 200 chips, the latest rumor states that these new chips will actually still use the current 200-series branding. Historically, Intel has sometimes pushed its model numbers up a generation when it launches a refresh of an existing CPU architecture. For example, the Core i9 14900K is based on a refresh of the same Raptor Lake architecture as the Core i9 13900K. However, it looks as though the company is going to make a clean break when it launches Nova Lake with Core Ultra 300 branding, with these new chips rumored to be using a new LGA1954 socket. 20. A few years ago, the idea of Microsoft embracing rival platforms would’ve raised eyebrows. However, it has gradually shifted its gaming strategy to become more open and platform-inclusive, encouraging players to access their games across devices, whether on Xbox, PC, through the cloud, or even PS. Driving this shift are initiatives like Game Pass and cross-platform releases. According to a report from an insider, Microsoft may already be working on the next step in that vision: integrating Steam into its future consoles as part of a deeper alignment with the PC gaming ecosystem. Steam integration already in testing, says insider According to insider eXtas1s, Microsoft has already begun internal testing of Steam integration within its ecosystem. The Steam app has reportedly appeared under the name “Steam Developer Beta” in Microsoft’s list of support software, accessible only to select employees and collaborators. While this isn’t publicly available yet, it signals that the company is laying the technical groundwork for a more seamless experience between its platforms. This potential integration isn’t just about convenience, it reflects a strategic shift. As the insider said: Everything is going to be developed around PC environments. Those logically need Steam integration and you’ll have that in your Microsoft Store when you turn on your next generation Xbox console. By allowing Steam to run natively on future Xbox hardware, the company is opening the door to a massive library of PC titles, indie games, and user-created content previously inaccessible on consoles. Related: “I need to get better at this”: Before Todd Howard & Bethesda Joined Xbox, His Original Inspiration for Video Games Started With Apple Additionally, it also positions Xbox as a more flexible, PC-like device, part of a broader move to unify the user experience across Windows and Xbox. This isn’t the first time such a possibility has been discussed. Other industry watchers have previously suggested that deeper Steam integration could be on the horizon. Now, with the recent report, early testing underway, Microsoft seems to be actively exploring how to make it a reality for the next console generation. A glimpse at the future of Xbox The console is turning into a gaming Swiss Army knife. | Image Credit: Xbox Microsoft’s apparent move to integrate Steam isn’t just a feature update; it hints at what the next generation of Xbox hardware might become. Several speculation suggests that Microsoft’s upcoming console (alongside a handheld), expected around 2027, could blur the lines even further. Related: Top 5 Xbox Game Pass Titles in May 2025 The goal seems to be a unified platform where users can access Windows-based software, Steam, Game Pass, and Xbox titles in one place, without the limitations traditionally associated with consoles. Just imagine if Steam becomes a native part of the Xbox experience, it would not only solidify the console’s position as a hybrid device but also offer the ease of console gaming with the freedom and depth of a PC platform. For gamers, that means more choice, more flexibility, and far fewer barriers between where and how they play. And for Microsoft, it could be a defining move in shaping the future of console gaming, not as a walled garden, but as an open gateway into the broader gaming universe. View the full article
  21. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33is a miracle in many ways. The composer was found on Soundcloud, and the writer was on Reddit. The team comprises about thirty juniors; the game's scale is beyond anything gaming has seen. It even has the gaming industry hooked on turn-based combat, a form thought of as out of date in today's modern age, yet with a few tweaks, an intensity is added to turn-based combat that makes it exciting again. Clair Obscur is a work of art, a game beyond most AAA developers, made by an indie-sized studio. View the full article
