  4. Amazon Prime’s Secret Level gave us the dark sci-fi Pac-Man riff “Circle,” a short-form experiment with Alex-Garland-meets-Pixar vibes. This was quickly confirmed as a ********* pilot for Bandai Namco’s Shadow Labyrinth, a 2D action-platformer scheduled to coincide with the dot-gourmand's 45th anniversary. Pumped up as a darker take on the formative tropes of the arcade series, Shadow Labyrinth looks to be a surprisingly complex metroidvania with Namco references, sci-fi elements, and even some cartoonish body horror. 5. You're gonna be waiting a little while longer before you return to the neon-slick streets of Cyberpunk 2077, I'm afraid. CD Projekt Red has come out on social media to announce that—though it had hoped to put out the surprise patch for the game on June 26—it's proving a ******* task than it first thought, so it's being delayed to some as-yet-unspecified post-June-26 date while the devs get everything ship-shape. "Need a little more time in the oven, my chooms," says Cyberpunk 2 associate game director Paweł Sasko on Bluesky... Read more.View the full article

  7. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has quickly become the most talked-about and highly rated game of 2025, and its all-star cast of voice actors includes the likes of the legendary Andy Serkis, Jennifer English (Baldur's Gate 3), and of course, Daredevil star Charlie Cox. Believe it or not, Charlie Cox hasn't actually played Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 because he's not really a big gamer, but I think fans will happily forgive him for this. View the full article

  12. Stonemaier Games, the board game publisher responsible for some mega hits including Wingspan and Scythe, has published some of the results from a recent 'Stonemaier Ambassador survey', which asked customers to identify features they had seen in games published in 2024 or 2025 which they wanted more publishers to copy in the future. The results were broad, but the theme is clear - gamers just want publishers to be nice. Read the rest of the story... 13. The ability to completely switch up your combat style by using a respec option is pretty common in modern videogames, and the first Outer Worlds was no different. Coming into The Outer Worlds 2, however, Obsidian is doubling down on its promise to a real roleplaying experience by removing the option to respec your character. No limited number of times you can do it, no way to use currency to fix a mistake - once you've picked your skills, you're in for the long haul. Read the rest of the story... 18. Build a Rocket Boy, the studio behind MindsEye, has reportedly started the process of laying off numerous staff. According to a report at IGN, which cites studio sources speaking under anonymity, the Edinburgh-based developer has started a 45-day consultation process with staff today. In *** law, if a company is planning to make fewer than 20 employees redundant, it doesn’t have to start a consultation process. If it plans to lay off between 20 and 99 staff, it has to start a consultation ******* at least 30 days before any dismissals take effect. Read More... View the full article
  19. It's safe to say that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33has made quite an impact on the gaming space, and it could revolutionize the way turn-based JRPG-style titles are made from now thanks to its innovative combat. Although Sandfall must have known it made something special, it probably didn't predict the kind of effect its debut game would have on the industry, with a film based on the title already in the works. Expedition 33 and its unique world has been a hit right from the get-go, and the question becomes: what is next for Sandfall Interactive? View the full article

  23. Now is a great time to pick up an awesome gaming CPU for a generous price, as Amazon has slashed over $90 off the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D MSRP, meaning you can pick one up for just $358.59. The price of this CPU peaked at a whopping $523.99 earlier this year, after its successor, the 9800X3D, arrived in short supply. This new price is the cheapest we've seen for the whole of 2025 so far, though, making for an affordable upgrade to a superb CPU. That's a saving of $113.43 over the new AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and the 7800X3D still offers many of the same features as the new chip, with fantastic performance. In fact, this is the CPU we use to benchmark all the GPUs listed on our best graphics card buying guide. As you can see in our AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D review, this CPU's massive 64MB helping of 3D V-cache enables it to shoot past any standard CPU in most game tests, and it still has a strong place on our best gaming CPU buying guide.
