With its unassuming name and completely chill gameplay loop,Dave the Diver took the world by storm in 2023. The idea is simple: you dive, gather fish, and then serve them at a restaurant. I had played adventure and simulators before, even in combination, but Dave the Diver did it in a way that injected a ton of personality into nearly every facet of the game. View the full article
One of the most important choices to make when playing Baldur's Gate 3 is your class. There are a total of 12 base classes to choose from, with 58 unique subclasses as of Patch 8. Though you can gain levels in different classes and change your build at any time, if you plan to immerse yourself in the story, it's a good idea to get a clear concept of who your character is, which will often tie directly into their class. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is easily one of my favorite games of all time at this point, but there's one missing feature that, as a PlayStation user, I hope gets implemented at some point in the near future. Unfortunately, there's no built-in cross-save functionality for Clair Obscur, which is totally fine if you're a Game Pass member. One major advantage to the Game Pass service is its Play Anywhere function, which lets you sync up your saves in Clair Obscur between your Xbox console and PC, but PlayStation users are out of luck unless Clair Obscur adds the feature itself. With the second title update for Monster Hunter Wilds right around the corner, Capcom finally unveiled some exciting new details about what to expect from the largest update coming to Wilds yet. The recent update for Assassin's Creed Shadows introduces a brand-new Nightmare gameplay mode that ramps up the difficulty level to the extreme, and it's definitely not for the faint of heart. Nightmare Mode introduces a few different difficulty modifiers to various aspects of gameplay, and if you have them all dialed up to 11, the game is finally legitimately challenging to complete. You're going to have to actually strategize an approach to things and carefully plan where, when, and how you enter into particular areas, and combat requires precise parrying and dodging skills. The cult classic RPG Trails in the Sky is getting a complete makeover after more than 21 years, and you should seriously consider putting it on your radar if you’re a fan of the JRPG genre and tactical RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics, for example. Officially known as The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, the RPG was initially released for PC in 2004, exclusively in Japan. The first installment in the longest-running JRPG story, Trails, only arrived in Western markets in 2011, after it was ported and localized for a PlayStation Portable version. View the full article

Good weekend, Destructoid! I am typing this fast before I need to rush out for a busy couple of days of walking and gaming, so let's cut to the chase and discuss what our plans are for the weekend! A fair bit is going on, but for the majority of trainers out there, there is one big unskippable event taking place that'll give people a lot to do. If you aren't into that, though, there are a handful of other games worth checking out. Pokémon Go Fest 2025: Global is happening from 10am until 6pm local time and you know that's where I'll be spending most my time trying to get all the Shiny Pokémon possible and tick some things off my living dex checklist, but I'm aware the game isn't everyone's cup of tea. Outside of that, some huge games have been released this week, like Death Stranding 2, and the weekend is the perfect opportunity to begin the grind there and see what the game is like and if the buzz surrounding it is real or not. It's a good weekend to be into indie games as well, with PEAK, Ruffy and the Riverside, and plenty of other titles still around for anyone looking for something a bit more casual to pass their time. I also know a few gamers locked into Persona 5: The Phantom X, but the gacha mechanic and other aspects of the game don't cut it for me. I'd prefer to wait for a full-blooded sequel than this phone game made ******* than it should be. Elden Ring: Nightreign also apparently got new content I'll need to find time to check out when I can get a few group of friends together, though I'm still waiting on the future duos update to be able to play it with my brother instead of hooking up with randoms all the time. So there is plenty to be played this weekend, but let me know in the comments what your plan is! The post What are you playing this weekend, Destructoid? June 28-29 appeared first on Destructoid. After negotiations between Mojang and LEGO fell apart in 2012, the Minecraft spin-off title Brickcraft ended development, but a dedicated group of fans has now found a playable prototype build of the collaboration game. Brickcraft would have transformed the world of Minecraft into a LEGO-inspired realm filled with the familiar pieces of the building-block toys, and in spite of no official release ever coming to fruition, a usable version of the game has finally surfaced.
