While life stuff has got in the way of me grinding Battlefield 6 as much as I would've liked, I've still managed to sink half a dozen hours into it so far. What I've played has been excellent - it feels like a true return to form and one of the best FPS games I've played in ages - but Battlefield 6's slow progression rates are a sticking point. There's not a whole lot to show for my six hours, if I'm honest, and that's not solely because of my thumbs. Unlocking new guns, attachments, and gadgets is pretty sluggish, and while you never want progression to be cheap and easy, the health of Battlefield 6's Portal mode needs the base game to be a bit more generous. Why? Because XP farms, which were inevitably going to spring up, are now being rinsed by players. Read the rest of the story... These can charge nearly any device with a USB-C port, including your Nintendo Switch 2, iPhone 16, or even the new M4 MacBook. 4-Pack of Lisen 6.6ft 240W USB Type-C Cables for $11.89 Keep your cable collection simple. These cables measure 6.6 feet in length, which is a great general purpose length: long enough to still be able to use your device while the cable is plugged in, but not so long as to be an unnecessary nuisance. These cables are also rated for up to 240W of power delivery, which means they can be used to charge even high powered electronics like your laptop. They're encased in a braided nylon sheath for extra durability and aeshetics. Lisen claims that they've been lab tested for up to 40,000+ bends and 175lb tensile pulls, "equivalent to a decade of daily extreme use". These cables have over 4,500 reviews on Amazon with an average 4.6 star rating. As a horror fan, I am on an eternal quest to find tabletop RPGs that scare me half to death. It's a tall order for any roleplaying game. Despite how immersive these games can be, it can be tough to truly convince the mind that your dining room is a lair of unquenchable evil. It's too tempting for nervous friends to break character and revel in silly shenanigans rather than suffering and terror. Read the rest of the story... View the full article

They will be in packs starting from 6pm BST/12pm CT, and you can obtain them if you're lucky. Alternatively, you can also buy them directly with coins from the market. The prices of higher-rated items will be steep, so pay attention to that. The lower-rated items will be cheaper, and some could even prove to be a bargain. Like our content? I was utterly hooked on Once Human last year, and really loved the horror vibes and tense gameplay. Sadly, as I figured out some builds and got more powerful, enemies became minor annoyances instead of tangible threats, and the magic was largely lost. That doesn't mean I don't give it a go every now and then, just to see what's happening. So, color me surprised when I opened the game recently to find that it now has a Pokémon-like scenario running. Yep, you can now capture and battle Deviations in true creature-collector style, and the gameplay is a lot like Palworld. Which makes a lot of sense, considering the coming Palworld x Once Human crossover coming at the end of this month. [Hidden Content] I don't know why seeing the Manibus and the Wanderer (the walking bus) roll up on a Cattiva excites me so much, but it looks pretty dang epic. So, in this scenario, you'll select your starter Poké Deviation and then create a few Binding Grenades, which are super cheap and easy to make. You then head out into the world and battle other Deviations in the wild. If, like me, you're tempted to take one on with nothing but a knife, don't. Get your Deviation out and make a crossbow, at least. Some of them can be pretty tough and will one-shot you. Screenshot by Destructoid Once you've weakened the Deviation, chuck a Binding Grenade at it, and voila, it's yours. You'll need to add it to your stock manually, or else it just stays a normal deviation that functions like it used to. Once you've captured a Deviation and added it to your PokéDex Symbiosis, you need to battle other Deviations to level up. So yeah, it's really familiar, except that you can have three Deviations active at the same time, so that's a nice twist. So, should we expect a lawsuit? One of the patents Palworld got sued for is the ability to throw ****** and release creatures contained within, which is why Pals now spawn out of thin air when we summon them. I see that Once Human has taken the same approach with that mechanic. That alone likely won't stop Nintendo, though, and you can bet that if the company finds anything worth suing for, it probably will. We all know how Nintendo operates with such things, so it's probably only a matter of time. Regardless, it does little good to speculate about such things. In the end, Once Human has turned into SCP Palword, and it's actually recaptured my interest for the time being. Definitely not something that was on my bingo card, but we knew all along that the potential was there for Once Human to take this sort of approach eventually. Honestly, I'm only surprised that it took them so long. But I'm really keen to hear from you guys—will you be checking out Once Human again? And do you think this latest move opens them up to a potential lawsuit? The post Once Human is basically Pokémon now, if you can believe it. Is that a lawsuit I smell coming? appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article

Right now, the Magic: The Gathering fanbase is reeling after the reveal of the biggest bunch of Universes Beyond crossovers ever. From the three sets shown off at Atlanta, to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, to the recent Secret Lair drop that includes Furbies, Jaws, and Dwight from The Office, never has such a high quantity of disparate properties been injected into the game. Once upon a time, when I was a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed university student, I wrote a dissertation on L.A. Noire. While my main focus was its portrayal of PTSD in 1940s America, it's the ending that sticks with me most. I, like many, found protagonist Cole Phelps to be thoroughly unlikable, even arrogant, yet the conclusion of his story still hits hard because he's so convincingly written. That sort of high-stakes, shocking storytelling is threaded throughout Expedition 33, one of the year's best RPGs, which arguably goes one step further by frontloading its most devastating surprise. Please note that this article contains major spoilers for both Expedition 33 and L.A. Noire. Tread lightly, expeditioner. Read the rest of the story... Forgive us for talking about Everwind again. To paraphrase a great, blue-haired philosopher of our time, we just think it's neat. We're big Minecraft fans here at PCGamesN, and I personally played so much Skyrim when it released that my brain started leaking out of my ears and I nearly failed my exams. Luckily I scooped it back in and Fus-Roh-Dahed my results to eventually land this job, where I can tell you about this Skyrim-like RPG that uses a Minecraft aesthetic to great effect.
