Days and nights in Pokémon Legends Z-A work based on a clock, and knowing when and how to change it is going to be super helpful. Paying attention to the time and hour of the day is essential if you want to progress smoothly in the game. Certain actions can only happen at a specific time of the day. Instead of waiting for that particular hour, you can change the timings to your benefit. Let's find out how you can do so inside ZA. Table of contentsHow to change between night and day in Pokémon Legends Z-AShould you change time in Pokémon Legends Z-A?How to change between night and day in Pokémon Legends Z-A Changing time inside the game is straightforward, but the method isn't laid out in the open. To gain the ability, you'll have to progress through a fair amount of in-game content by following the main campaign. You'll first gain access to the hotel, and then get introduced to the remaining areas. Screenshot by Destructoid When you travel the city, you'll find benches like the one shown in the screenshot above. You can then interact with the bench to spend time, and the game just skips past the hours. While the system is neat, there are some limitations. You can only change the day and night cycles, which is enough. Alternatively, you can wait inside the game by doing nothing, but why would you even want to do that? Should you change time in Pokémon Legends Z-A? As you will find out, certain actions of the day happen in a specific hour. For example, certain Pokémon will only spawn at a given time of the day. Similarly, certain evolutions also require you to pay attention to the day/night cycle. To manage such situations, your only logical option is to use a bench and change time to your benefit. A new Battlefield 6 update has just sliced the number of tickets teams start with on all Conquest maps, in an attempt to avoid games hitting the time limit. The zone-control mode has become Battlefield's go-to over the years (despite mild protestations from Rush enthusiasts such as myself), and it's symbolic of the grand-scale bombast that makes BF6 one of the best multiplayer games this year. But no-one wants an arbitrary countdown to blow the whistle and call time right as things are coming down to a climax. Read the rest of the story... What's the first game you ever played? Mine was Super Mario Advance 2, a bona fide banger and the only game I owned until around a year after I won a Game Boy Advance in a competition, much to my parents' chagrin. I played it for hours and hours and - you get the picture. I got over a million points despite being stuck on an early level in World 2. But many people started their gaming journeys well before me (and were better at mastering those games), including with Pong, the game that started it all. Those early adopters of our artform will be pleased to know that Devolver Digital and Kenny Sun have reimagined the all-timer with a new roguelike flavor in Ball x Pit. And I can confirm that it's great. Read the rest of the story... View the full article
Jurassic World Evolution 3 hits PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 soon, and the team behind the game just revealed a brand-new dinosaur at IGN Fan Fest 2025: Fall Edition. When the game releases in just a few days, players will be able to breed and care for a new dinosaur that up until now has only shown up on the big screen: the Therizinosaurus. The Therozinosaurus previously appeared in the 2022 movie Jurassic World Dominion. I spoke exclusively with the team behind Jurassic World: Evolution 3 to break down why they consider the new dinosaur a pivotal addition to the franchise. “The Therizinosaurus is a key franchise dinosaur now,” says Andy Fletcher, Game Director for Jurassic World Evolution 3. “Our narrative for our campaign begins shortly after Dominion. So it certainly makes sense for us to include that dinosaur at that point in the Jurassic timeline. It’s a unique dinosaur. It's very, very high appeal for your parks and your guests, but it's not the easiest to look after. It doesn't act too well with other species. We also thought with the advent of dinosaur families and the relationship between juveniles and adults (it would be an) interesting element of that particular dinosaur to explore." Senior designer Sandro Sammarco says “It’s big, it's scary, it's got those horrific looking claws. But because it's a relatively independent and powerful dinosaur, the parents want to protect it, but they don't really care about it that much.” It’s those dinosaur families that serve as a key element of Jurassic World Evolution 3. For the first time, players can breed dinosaurs and look after entire groups of both adults and juveniles. “We've got a core mechanic that when you look after (the juveniles), the better they're treated, the better their ********, the more appeal they retain as an adult,” Sammarco says. “The guests appreciate the ******** of dinosaurs being looked after. So it means that you have to look after the Therizinosaurus as a family unit. You can't just care about (the juvenile), which is quite an interesting facet.” In addition to the Therizinosaurus, Fletcher and Sammarco revealed that the very first level of Jurassic World Evolution 3 will feature another new dinosaur and a familiar (yet new to the games) location for Jurassic fans. “Lokiceratops is one of our new additions in Jurassic World Evolution 3,” Fletcher says. “It’s a recently-discovered dinosaur. It's got a distinct large frill that we really can't wait to see. It was found in Montana, which is the opening level of our campaign. And indeed, that's the first dinosaur family you'll see in Jurassic World Evolution 3.” Beyond Montana, players will get to visit a variety of new locations in the game. “We can go all across the world to new locations that even the franchise hasn't been to before (like) China and Japan,” Fletcher says. “It's a great, globetrotting campaign ******* than any of our ones before. (In) the original novel there was a plan for a Jurassic Park Europe, which was intended to be built on the Azores islands. So one of our levels takes place on the Azores. And the assignment there is to realize the vision of John Hammond back from those early days, and being enlisted to help with that.” As anticipation builds for the game, the team behind Jurassic World Evolution 3 is on pins and needles waiting to see how fans will react both to the new dinosaurs and new mechanics in the game. “I'm really excited and interested to see how players are going to interact with dinosaurs no longer as monolithic blocks,” Sammarco says. “It's no longer, ‘oh, this is the T-Rex enclosure with the T-Rex.’ Now it's here are the T-Rexes. And they could be males, they could be females. They could be juveniles. How do they get along? What are your cohabitation potentials and what are the challenges that come along with that? We've got these dinosaur simulation brains that are working that out. And because there are so many dinosaurs, there are so many combinations, it's going to be intriguing to work out to see what players try to do and see what the results are of that.” Jurassic World Evolution 3 is available to play on October 21. Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy has a new trailer fresh from IGN Fall Fan Fest 2025, and it confirms a Q4 2025 release window for the alpha. Owlcat Games’ promising follow-up to cRPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, lets players become an acolyte of the Inquisition, one of the Imperium’s heresy-hating enforcers. Here’s the official blurb: Step into the shadows as an acolyte of the Inquisition in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, a second narrative-driven tactical RPG set in the beloved grimdark universe. Set against the backdrop of the Noctis Aeterna and the mystery of the Tyrant Star, players will lead a warband of diverse companions in a desperate battle against heresy and corruption — from loyal Imperial subjects, such as a veteran Guardsman from the death world of Catachan, to nefarious xenos, including a bird-like Kroot mercenary. With intricate investigations, a turn-based combat system, and choices that carry grave consequences, Dark Heresy is set to deliver an atmospheric dive into the brutality and mysticism of one of the Imperium’s most feared organizations. The game greatly expands on the ideas introduced in Rogue Trader and features fully voiced dialogues. Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is due out on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. There’s no release date yet, but thanks to the new trailer, we know we’ll be able to play the game before the end of this year. Meanwhile, also at Fan Fest, Owlcat announced a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Rogue Trader. It’s exciting times in the world of Warhammer 40,000 video games. Not only do we have Dark Heresy and the Switch 2 launch of Rogue Trader to look forward to, but we also have significant updates still coming to the likes of Darktide and Space Marine 2. Looking further ahead, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, Dawn of War 4, and Space Marine 3 are all in the works. Warhammer 40,000 has officially arrived on Nintendo Switch 2 with the announcement of a Rogue Trader port. Owlcat Games’ well-received cRPG set in the grimdark future of the 41st millenium first launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S in December 2023. For the uninitiated, it’s a bit like Baldur’s Gate 3, but set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. IGN’s Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader review returned an 8/10. We said: “Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is an ultra crunchy, 130-hour space epic with excellent writing and combat, but unfortunately, also a lot of bugs.” The Nintendo Switch 2 version was announced at IGN Fall Fan Fest 2025 with a new trailer, below. No release date was mentioned. Since the launch of Rogue Trader, Owlcat Games has updated the game with a number of patches and DLCs, most recently June’s Lex Imperialis expansion, and it currently sits on a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam. Here's the official blurb on Rogue Trader: Players will take on the role of a Rogue Trader, a scion of an ancient dynasty of daring privateers who reign over their own trade protectorate and explore the fringes of Imperial space with the blessing of the Emperor Himself. By virtue of their Warrant of Trade, the Rogue Trader is endowed with privileges and power beyond imagination, as well as the task of expanding the borders of the Imperium. A gargantuan voidship of immense strength and innumerable personnel ready to follow their leader without question is at their disposal. Show your subjects mercy or disdain, stay faithful to the Emperor or consort with the enemies of Humanity — the Rogue Trader’s every decision sends ripples across entire star systems, changing the in-game world and those who inhabit it. That’s not all from Owlcat at IGN Fan Fest, either. The developer has also announced a Q4 2025 release window for the alpha of its Rogue Trader follow-up, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. It’s exciting times in the world of Warhammer 40,000 video games. Not only do we have the Switch 2 launch of Rogue Trader, and Dark Heresy to look forward to, but we also have significant updates still coming to the likes of Darktide and Space Marine 2. This world is unlike any other, so you may want to learn more about it before jumping in. Reviewing key components of this DLC is also a good way to determine whether or not buying it is worth it for you. There's a lot to learn about in this one, so here are all of the biomes, horses, and critters features in Disney Dreamlight Valley's Wishblossom Ranch DLC. Table of contentsDisney Dreamlight Valley Wishblossom Ranch biomesDisney Dreamlight Valley Wishblossom Ranch horses and mountsDisney Dreamlight Valley Wishblossom Ranch crittersDisney Dreamlight Valley Wishblossom Ranch biomes Screenshot by Destructoid There are three vast new biomes included in this DLC, all of which offer plenty of new items to obtain and secrets to uncover. Here's a breakdown of all three areas and what you need to know about each one. Wishing Alps – A snowy, mountainous region that has the farmland Wishblossom Ranch area tucked in the middle of it. It feels a bit like a mix between spring and winter in this area, as the ranch region is quite green and designed for farming, but the surrounding mountains are eternally covered in snow. Glamour Gulch – A fancy, fashionable, and sinister Victorian area inspired by Cruella. This region is home to towering buildings, ribbon flowers, a massive metal bridge, an ominous manor, button trees, and a vast mining area scattered across rocky cliffs. Pixie Acres – A lush, vibrant region brimming with massive flora and fauna. Everything in this area is scaled up to make you feel pixie-sized while exploring. Around this region, you'll spot massive fluttering butterflies, oozing pots of honey, and huge blooming flowers. Disney Dreamlight Valley Wishblossom Ranch horses and mounts Screenshot by Destructoid There are three iconic Disney horses and one additional mount featured in the Wishblossom Ranch pack. It's possible more could be unveiled in the future, perhaps as optional Premium Shop items, but for now, there are four to choose from, including: Maximus from Tangled – Unlocked by playing through quests in Wishblossom Ranch. Befriending him unlocks his special long jump ability, which can be used to leap over large gaps and access new areas. Pegasus from Hercules – Unlocked by playing through quests in Wishblossom Ranch. Befriending him unlocks the gliding ability, which can be used to fly through wind tunnels around the region. Khan from Mulan – Unlocked by playing through quests in Wishblossom Ranch. Befriending him unlocks the kicking ability, which can be used to knock down wooden and steel doors blocking entry into new regions. Sven from Frozen – Unlocked by purchasing the Deluxe Edition of Wishblossom Ranch. He's the only rideable mount that's not a horse that's been unveiled so far, and he's only obtainable if you buy this specific version of the DLC. In addition to the Disney horses and mounts, you can also customize your own horses and save them as presets. There are loads of customization options, including colors, patterns, clothing, hair types, and much more. Disney Dreamlight Valley Wishblossom Ranch critters Screenshot by Destructoid Wishblossom Ranch comes with three critter companions you can befriend and unlock. Each type is exclusive to one biome in this pack, just like how critters in past DLCs have worked. The animals included in this pack are: Geese – Found wandering around the Wishing Alps region.Skunks – Found scurrying throughout the Glamour Gulch area. Bees – Found buzzing around the Pixie Acres region. There's plenty more to uncover in this DLC, so check out the official Wishblossom Ranch patch notes next. If you're not sure what to do next, you might want to work on some key tasks around the valley, like finding all Painting Scraps in the Beauty and the Beast Realm, changing your Dream Castle skin, placing stalls in DLC worlds, and completing the A Guide to Better Castle-Keeping quest. There are many iconic Disney characters you can unlock and befriend in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Most of them are available to all players, but there are some that are exclusively available in DLCs like Wishblossom Ranch. Since all DLCs for DDV cost extra beyond the price of the base game, having a good understanding of what they include is crucial so you can decide if buying them is worth it. The characters included in the pack are perhaps the biggest factor to consider, as they offer loads of quests, rewards, and interactions you otherwise can't get. If you're unsure whether this one is right for you, here are all the characters featured in the Wishblossom Ranch DLC in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Wishblossom Ranch villagers in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid Wishblossom Ranch has four key characters you can unlock and befriend, which are Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cruella from One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Tinker Bell from Peter Pan, and Tigger from Winnie-the-Pooh. Snow White has been caring for Wishblossom Ranch throughout the Forgetting, and needs your help to get things fully back up and running. Tigger is the first Winnie-the-Pooh character to arrive in the valley. He's one of the trickier villagers to unlock, as he's gone missing somewhere deep within the Wishblossom Mountains. Tinker Bell is a key player in the main storyline, helping to keep the last of the giant Wishblossom Flowers alive with her magical pixie dust. Thanks to your special Dreamlight Magic, you can understand her in a way no one else can, except for Peter Pan. Cruella took control of Wishblossom Ranch during the Forgetting and ran it to the ground, leaving it in the struggling state you'll find it in upon arrival. Screenshot by Destructoid There are also four iconic animal mounts you can meet and befriend in this pack. Although they're classified differently from regular characters, they do still come with special abilities and interactions. They're more detailed than critters, but less so than villagers, so they fall somewhere between the two. All of the iconic mounts you can get to know and ride around the valley are as follows. Pegasus from Hercules – Can be found and unlocked by playing through quests in Wishblossom Ranch. He has the ability to glide, allowing him to soar through wind tunnels around the area. Maximus from Tangled – Can be found and unlocked by playing through quests in Wishblossom Ranch. He has the special long jump ability, allowing you to leap over large gaps you otherwise can't cross. Khan from Mulan – Can be found and unlocked by playing through quests in Wishblossom Ranch. He can kick down wooden or steel doors, helping you uncover new areas. Sven from Frozen – Sven is a Deluxe Edition exclusive, which means you must buy this special version of Wishblossom Ranch to unlock him. You also get 10,000 Moonstones, the Snowy Alpine house style, and an Arendallian Riding outfit for purchasing this bundle. If you're interested in adding more characters to your village, there are plenty of other ones to recruit outside of this DLC. Some good characters to work on unlocking are Lumiere and Cogsworth, Joy, Cheshire Cat, Maleficent, Sadness, and The Forgotten. Like our content? As part of the "Get Well, Fennekin" quest in Pokémon Legends ZA, you're tasked with finding a Revitalizing Twig in Wild Zone 5. While the zone itself is tagged on the map, the item's location isn't. First, you will need a Water-type Pokémon with a Water-type move. If you haven't picked Totodile as your starter, an easy choice for this quest is Binacle, which has Water Gun as early as level seven. You can capture one in Wild Zone 2. With the water Pokémon in your party, head to the East side of Wild Zone 5. That Wild Zone is the one directly southwest of the Lumiose Tower, which is in the center of the city. You can see the exact spot you need to head to on the map below. Head here to start retrieving the Revitalizing Twig. Screenshot by Destructoid In that area, you'll see two big mounts of purple goop blocking a stairway headed down. To clear them, select your Water pokémon with your D-Pad, aim for the goop, and use a move like Water Gun. The purple matter will disappear and unblock the stairs, which you will use to head down. Use a water-type move to clear the purple goop. Screenshot by Destructoid Going down, you will see a tunnel blocked by the purple goop once again. Repeat what you just did in the surface: bring out your Pokémon, aim for the goop, use a Water-type move, and clear the material to enter the tunnel. The blocked tunnel. Screenshot by Destructoid You'll spot a strong Lv. 28 Alpha Whirlipede in the enclosed area that the tunnel leads to. That's likely too strong for you to take on, so I suggest you just avoid it and collect the five glowing spots in the area until you get the Revitalizing Twig. The Twig you get after collecting all glowing spots in the area. Screenshot by Destructoid With the Twig in hand, you can return it to Branche to get Fennekin after completing the "Get Well, Fennekin" quest in ZA. Remember that this Fennekin in particular is shiny-locked, like all Pokémon you get as gifts in ZA. The post How to find a Revitalizing Twig in Pokémon Legends Z-A appeared first on Destructoid. These characters are tied to the DLC, so the only way to get them in your valley is by purchasing it. Three new biomes – Three new regions are featured in this pack. Rideable mounts and Horses – Mount up and ride around the valley in style with the addition of Horses. These helpful companions can be ridden around Wishblossom Ranch and all other worlds to help you get around faster. Love them or, more likely, hate them, Minecraft's Creepers are now an iconic part of Mojang's beloved sandbox game. But the explosive creatures probably wouldn't be included today, the developer has said, if it were to design them from scratch now. Speaking in a new developer video discussing game balance and fairness, chief creative officer Jens Bergensten said that Mojang now followed a strong principle when adding any new item, biome or enemy to Minecraft that could cause players grief. In a nutshell, if anything causes the player to suffer, it should be because players brought it on themselves. "We want to avoid treating players in a way that feels unfair," Bergensten said. "So we have this guiding principle that bad things [can] happen, but they're technically the players' fault. What we mean by that is either the player caused it, or the player had a chance to prevent it." That means enemies have to feel fair — so players can choose to take them on if they want or have a decent chance of mitigating the danger if not. Situations that negatively impact a player should also never feel too random. Bergensten listed various examples of things that have been added in the past that haven't felt as fair as intended — such as Iron Golems protecting villages by attacking Creepers (and getting said villages blown up), or Endermen randomly stealing blocks that could have some pivotal signifiance (such as a painstakingly-built Redstone circuits). This doesn't mean that Mojang won't add in tougher challenges, though the developer said it was now careful to make difficult content feel like something players were opting into — such as when actively making the choice to enter The End and take on the game's climactic Ender Dragon. But how about the Creeper? It can be encountered from the very beginning of the game, it can instantly kill players and destroy builds, and it sometimes feels like it appears at random. So why does it still exist like it does? "Even to this day, it's one of the monsters in gaming that I'm still a little bit afraid of," Bergensten admitted. "If you would follow the rules that we have today, we would probably not add the Creeper because it would actually be so controversial to have a monster just show up and destroy what you've built." And yet? "The Creeper is very iconic though," Bergensten concluded — which is true enough. Tom Phillips is IGN's News Editor. Total War Warhammer 3 patch 6.3.2 might have saved us from its game-breaking campaign AI bug, but it's left some players unable to access certain DLC units that were previously handed out for free. The new issue appears to be impacting people who don't own the older entries in the series, causing some troops to be marked as 'additional content required.' Developer Creative Assembly says this change was "not an intentional one," and that it's looking into a fix. Read the rest of the story... I love how games inspire one another. Game creators, developers, writers, and everyone involved in the production of our virtual pastime love games. Whether it's Bomb Rush Cyberfunk apeing Jet Set Radio or Blasphemous utilizing plenty of Castlevania innovations, indies are especially honest about wearing inspirations on their sleeves. One case I didn't expect, however, involves Shadow of the Colossus. Fumiko Ueda's kaiju-scaling masterpiece is one of the most atmospheric and unique games I've ever played, and it turns out it was created because he was playing so much Battlefield 1942. Yes, you read that right. Read the rest of the story... RELATED LINKS: Battlefield 1942 is getting an HD remake, 15 years after its first release View the full article
