  1. Recent comments made by Gearbox Software CEO ****** Pitchford have angered potential Borderlands 4 players, with the executive claiming that fans of the franchise will "find a way" to buy the game if it launches with an $80 price tag. While the cost of Borderlands 4 hasn't yet been revealed, many are worried that recent gaming trends will equate to a higher cost when the title finally launches in September. View the full article

  3. Noctua has just come up with an ingenious way for gamers with sweaty hands to keep their palms cool when they're in the heat of battle, with a new gaming mouse design that not only features a chassis full of holes but also sports a cooling fan inside it. Designed in conjunction with Pulsar Gaming Gears, the new mouse is also clad in the classic (but also divisive) beige and brown Noctua livery, and is currently at the prototype stage. As the manufacturer of many of the best CPU cooler designs you can buy right now, Noctua has a grand reputation when it comes to thermal engineering, with its products nearly always offering premium build quality, quiet operation, and superb cooling performance. The company has been branching out into other areas recently, including a Noctua AIO cooler, and now with this new gaming mouse, which it's now showing off at the Computex tradeshow in Taiwan. 4. The super-fast movement. The incredible shotgun. Those beautiful, pixelated torrents of gore. The original Doom, from 1993, was groundbreaking for dozens of reasons. But it also spearheaded modern speedrunning. Those end-of-mission screens, where you could compare your time with id Software's own, in house par, were a gauntlet thrown down - how fast can you go? Between Half-Life, Quake, and the latter-day Fallouts, some of the best speedrun games are also FPS games. The record for Doom Eternal is a staggeringly tiny 17 minutes. Now, with Doom The Dark Ages still relatively fresh on Steam, one player has already gotten id's latest down to a lean 70 minutes. Read the rest of the story... 5. Atlus' MegaTen games are more popular than ever, thanks in no small part to the emergent runaway success of Shin Megami Tensei spinoff series Persona. The lesser-known ****** Summoner series was another MegaTen diversion, orienting MegaTen’s familiar ******-catching gameplay into detective stories that generally do away with any apocalyptic angle. This brings us to the verbose 2006 ****** Summoner game title in question, retitled in publisher *****'s upcoming remaster as RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. 6. Microids has announced that a remaster of the classic adventure title Syberia is in the works for a late 2025 release. The classic 2002 title, written and designed by Benoît Sokal, is an atmospheric game known for its narrative-driven storytelling and gorgeous hand-drawn visuals. The tale follows high-powered New York lawyer Kate Walker, who's sent to the fictional little European town of Valadilène to oversee a factory takeover on behalf of her firm. Before she can do so, Kate becomes tangled in the mystery of the factory's owner, and gets whisked away on an adventure of a lifetime. View the full article

  11. One of the many duties you need to complete in the Parks Fest event is Stitch-y Situation in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This task doesn't give you much information to go off, so you may be unsure how to get it done. Like most Parks Fest event duties, this one involves crafting a popcorn bucket. There's quite a lot to this process, though, and you have to make a very specific one to get it done. Here's how to complete Stitch-y Situation in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsHow to complete the Stitch-y Situation duty in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to craft Stitch Popcorn Bucket in Disney Dreamlight ValleyStitch-y Situation reward in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to complete the Stitch-y Situation duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid To complete the Stitch-y Situation task in DDV, you need to craft one Stitch Popcorn Bucket. This is one of the easier event duties to solve since it directly references Stitch by name in the title. Before you can make this special event item, you need to gather an array of Parks Fest Buttons to make it. All of the required materials for crafting this popcorn bucket are Buttons you can acquire from around the valley. Once you have all the items you need, the Stitch Popcorn Bucket can be crafted at any crafting station. How to craft Stitch Popcorn Bucket in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid To craft the Stitch Popcorn Bucket, you need Green Buttons, Blue Buttons, Flower Buttons, and Purple Buttons. Here's how many you need of each kind and how to earn them around the valley. Since the Parks Fest event is an annual occurrence, you may have crafted the Stitch Popcorn Bucket before this duty was added. If so, you can either gather all of the materials to make it again or use the machine you unlock during The Uncrafting Station quest to disassemble and remake it. To get the Uncrafting Station, you need to unlock the Cheshire Cat and reach level seven friendship with him. Gathering Buttons is a fairly time-consuming process, so I recommend using this special machine if you already have this bucket made rather than making a duplicate of it. You can also uncraft other popcorn bucket variants if you need additional materials to make this one. Stitch-y Situation reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley Finishing the Stitch-y Situation task unlocks the Stitch Popcorn Bucket furniture item and the Stitch's Handheld Popcorn Bucket accessory item. You essentially earn two different versions of the same item. One can be used as a decoration around your village, while the other can be carried around as an outfit accessory. If you're interested in unlocking more popcorn buckets, there are quite a few other duties you need to get done in the Parks Fest event. Some other ones you need to finish are Oh, Bother, Craftily Ever After, Destination: Imagination, and A Shining Icon. 13. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 director Guillaume Broche compared the game’s development team to an “RPG party” because its different members were “assembled together in very random ways,” and explained that a big part of the studio workflow is thinking about “stupid ideas.” Instead of an all-star team of renowned people in the industry, Sandfall Interactive started working mostly with juniors, which ended up playing out really well, as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the biggest surprises of 2025. Walmart has a bargain of an LG gaming monitor offer right now, but you'll need to get in quick, as it's listed as a flash deal, and the site says over 100 people have this screen in their carts right now. You can see why, with a $43 saving on this monitor's already-affordable $169 price, meaning you get a decent-size 27-inch screen and a 180Hz refresh rate for just $126. We usually expect gaming monitors at this price to come from unknown brands and have 24-inch screens, so it's great to see the LG UltraGear 27GS40W-B (to use its full name) joining the party, albeit for a limited time. 16. The Rainbow Six Siege X system requirements have landed, and we now have an idea of what PC hardware we'll need to run the tactical shooter at resolutions up to 4K and frame rates of up to 120fps. This long-awaited update brings some major graphical upgrades, but I still wasn't expecting to see an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super Ti listed in the specs. While you won't need the best graphics card to get great performance in Rainbow Six Siege at 1080p, if you want to push for 120fps at 4K, then you're going to need a fairly decent gaming PC. Comparing these new specs to the original Rainbow Six Siege system requirements shows just how far we've come in the last decade of PC hardware. Read the rest of the story... 19. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will soon see the release of Patch 8, which publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have already said heralds the arrival of the hotly anticipated Horde mode. But what else might it include? Recent datamines of Space Marine 2 itself may hold clues. Warning! Potential spoilers for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 follow: Let’s start with perhaps the biggest question Space Marine 2 fans have right now: what is the new class? Datamines suggest it is the Techmarine. Why? Because in the files was mention of a perk called ‘shoulder gun bolter,’ which is a clear indication that Techmarines are finally in play. For the uninitiated, a Techmarine is a Space Marine engineer-type class who’s a big fan of the Cult Mechanicus as well as their Chapter. They’re big on technology and specialize in fixing and maintaining vehicles and other big stuff, such as Dreadnaughts. You can see how a Techmarine might slot into a Space Marine 2 squad, which currently lacks a class of this type. And this ties into another datamined detail: the apparent ability to “summon” a Dreadnaught in Horde mode. Dreadnaughts are a part of the Space Marine 2 campaign (one viral moment involves a Dreadnaught being particularly heroic and badass), and you also fight alongside one in a PvE Operations mission. Could you earn the right to summon a Dreadnaught and, as a Techmarine, keep it alive, in Horde mode? Now onto the promised new melee weapon. Datamines suggest Space Marine 2 will finally get a Power Axe, which again, makes sense in the context of Games Workshop’s big Space Wolves push for the tabletop game. And let’s remember, in December, IGN reported on Space Marine 2 modders who put the axe from Secret Level’s Warhammer 40,000 episode into the game. THIS is why I’m a fan of Warhammer 40k! Hats off to @PrimeVideo for producing Secret Level: And They Shall Know No Fear. Watch it here: [Hidden Content] I highly recommend giving the entire 19 min episode a watch. It’s immersive and awesome. It’s a happy grim dark ray of… [Hidden Content] — MiniWarGamer Dave (@MWGdave) December 10, 2024 There’s more! As discussed in a recent video by Warhammer 40,000 YouTuber Chapter Master Valrak, dataminers recently unearthed evidence of a Grav-cannon in Space Marine 2. This is, typically, a big gun used by Space Marines that manipulate gravity to cause a target to crush itself to death. Could the Techmarine class, should it be a genuine upcoming arrival, exclusively wield the Grav-cannon? If so, I imagine there will be many players who gravitate towards it with the release of Patch 8. It’s worth noting that Patch 8 remains under wraps for now, but we’re expecting Space Marine 2-related announcements during the upcoming Warhammer Skulls livestream this Thursday, May 22. Perhaps we’ll find out more there. There’s a lot happening in the world of Space Marine 2, despite the surprise announcement that development of Space Marine 3 development had begun. Space Marine 2’s year one roadmap remains in place. Wesley is Director, News at IGN. Find him on Twitter at @wyp100. You can reach Wesley at [email protected] or confidentially at *****@*****.tld. 20. In the Parks Fest event, one of your main goals is to craft an array of unique popcorn buckets in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Figuring out what they are and how to make them is fairly complex, though, since you're only given vague titles like A Shining Icon to work with. The name of each event duty is a small clue meant to point you in the right direction, but none of them gives you enough information to know exactly what needs to be done. If you're struggling to solve this one, here's how to complete A Shining Icon in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Table of contentsHow to complete the A Shining Icon duty in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to craft Metallic Mickey Popcorn Bucket in Disney Dreamlight ValleyA Shining Icon reward in Disney Dreamlight ValleyHow to complete the A Shining Icon duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid To finish the A Shining Icon quest, you need to craft one Metallic Mickey Popcorn Bucket. Mickey Mouse is the iconic mascot of Disney, and the bucket you're making is shiny, so he's the "shining icon" referenced in this hint. For this duty, you first need to gather all of the required materials for the popcorn bucket. The resources you need are an array of colorful Parks Fest Buttons. Once you have them, you can head to any crafting station around the valley to get crafting. How to craft Metallic Mickey Popcorn Bucket in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid The Metallic Mickey Popcorn Bucket can be crafted using Green Buttons, Blue Buttons, Purple Buttons, and Flower Buttons in DDV. If you crafted the Metallic Mickey Popcorn Bucket during a past run of the Parks Fest event and don't want to spend time gathering the resources to make another one for this task, consider using the Uncrafting Station to break it down and remake it. You unlock this machine during The Uncrafting Station quest, which is the Cheshire Cat's level seven friendship quest. Using this machine costs a small Dreamlight fee, but it's worth the price to avoid gathering all of the required materials again. You can also break down any other popcorn buckets you may have to earn materials for this one. A Shining Icon reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley Completing the A Shining Icon duty gets you the Metallic Mickey Popcorn Bucket furniture item and the Metallic Mickey's Handheld Popcorn Bucket accessory item. The furniture version of this bucket can be placed anywhere around the valley, including inside your houses or anywhere outside as a decorative item. The accessory version is an item you can equip and carry around. There are plenty of other popcorn buckets you can make once you have this one in your collection. Next, consider working on the Oh, Bother, Craftily Ever After, and Destination: Imagination duties to unlock three more. 21. May has been a busy month for Xbox Game Pass with plenty of new additions, but we're set to lose some great titles pretty soon as well. Your subscription will be lighter by four titles starting on May 31. The count rises by one if you're using the PC Game Pass. While this process is pretty routine, there are a couple of games that you should try playing in the last couple of weeks if you haven't tried them out yet. All Xbox Game Pass Departures in May 2025 Here's the complete list of all the games that will no longer be part of the Xbox Game Pass after May 31. Cassette BeastsHumanityRemnant 2Slayers X: Terminal Afterthought: Vengeance of the SlayerFirework (PC Game Pass) Remnant 2 is certainly going to be the game I miss most, although it has been on the subscription for a long time. It's one of those few games that I picked up after its addition to the subscription and completed in the next few weeks. While it's not the easiest of shooters to mess around with, give it a try during the last week of May. The Remnant 2 – Image via Arc Games Cassette Beasts has been an underrated title if you're into indies and games that involve catching monsters. It's neither Pokémon nor TemTem by any means, but there's plenty of fun gameplay, and you can also finish the game by picking it up now. I haven't played much of either Humanity or Slayers X, but they're both neat titles in their own right. Humanity is a good fit for those who love puzzle platformers, while Slayers X is a great tribute to old-school FPS titles. Puzzle lovers have more to miss this month as Firework is also leaving the PC Game Pass. I have played a bit of the horror puzzle title, and it's certainly fun. All these titles will be available until May 31 on the Xbox Game Pass. May saw the addition of fantastic titles like Doom: The Dark Ages as Day One launches. I personally can't wait to see what we have in store for us in June. The post Games you have to play before they leave Game Pass on 31 May appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
