  1. The description of Children of the Sun tells you everything that you need to know without telling you much at all. You are THE GIRL, an ex-member of THE CULT who once promised you a simpler life. Instead, they made your life *****. Now, you’re hunting down members of THE CULT, exterminating each and every one of them using your mind-bending abilities, as you attempt to reach THE LEADER. But what exactly is this cult all about? How did they ruin THE GIRL’s life, and what are they capable of? Well, the answers are not handed to you on a silver platter, but instead drip-fed to you by some beautifully illustrated cutscenes and a detailed, moody environment that the game places THE GIRL in. This is something you’ll get up close and personal with in this *******-puzzle shooter, where time slows as you realign your bullet, giving you plenty of time to soak in the surroundings as you plan your next move. All-in-all, however, a lot of THE GIRL’s story is open to interpretation. There’s one thing we can all agree on, though: she's out for revenge. Read more View the full article

  7. EA has insisted its Iron Man game is still in the works after adding developer Motive to the list of owned studios working on the Battlefield franchise. Motive studio general manager Patrick Klaus said a “group” of developers from the Montreal-based Motive are joining Criterion, DICE, and Ripple Effect “to continue unlocking the full potential of Battlefield.” This group includes the directors who worked on Motive’s 2023 ***** Space remake: Philippe Ducharme (Executive Producer) and Roman Campos-Oriola (Creative Director). The pair will build a team to work on what’s coming next for Battlefield. Meanwhile, work on Iron Man continues, Klaus said in a blog post. “In parallel, development continues to move forward on our Iron Man project, led by Olivier Proulx (Executive Producer) and Ian Frazier (Creative Director),” said Klaus. “The team made excellent progress this year, hitting a major internal milestone and laying a robust foundation for the journey ahead. Iron Man ******** an important priority for Motive, and I’m very proud of the work we’ve accomplished so far.” Klaus did not offer any new assets of the Iron Man game or a release window. The Iron Man game was announced in September 2022 as "an all-new single-player, action-adventure" game and the first of three Marvel video games coming from publisher EA. Then, in October 2023, Motive confirmed it was developing Iron Man using Unreal Engine 5. At the time, Iron Man was said to be Motive’s focus after the well-received ***** Space Remake came out earlier that year. "We're still early in pre-production and taking our time to make sure we set the best possible foundation for development" EA Motive said at the time. "But already, we’re finding so many opportunities to explore story, design and gameplay with Iron Man, and it’s exciting to see the fantasy start coming alive." However, in February this year, EA announced plans to lay off around 670 workers, cancel or close games, and move away from future licensed intellectual property, calling into question the status of the Iron Man game among others. EA currently has several confirmed Star Wars and Marvel games in development, including a third Jedi game, ****** Panther, and Iron Man. But EA canceled Respawn's Star Wars first person shooter before it was even properly revealed. The Star Wars strategy game in development at Bit Reactor and produced by Respawn survived. In March, former PlayStation executive Connie Booth, one of the chief architects of PlayStation's first-party strategy before her unexpected departure in 2023, joined EA to help lead its studios amid its ongoing restructure. Booth's title is Group General Manager, Action RPG, with a portfolio that includes Motive (Iron Man and now Battlefield), Cliffhanger (****** Panther), and BioWare (Dragon Age, Mass Effect). 9. After years of Starfield players lusting after the idea of actually being able to do something with mechs in the game aside from staring at the broken ones that dot a lot of the ruins in the Settled Systems, a new mod will finally let you build some of your own. It does far more than that though, seeking to totally overhaul the game's entire outpost system. Yup, just as we're all up to our knees in Fallout TV Show hype and busy checking out the array of other cool stuff that's happening in that Bethesda franchise's community this month, a modder has quietly decided to put out what's certainly the most ambitious mod for the game I've seen this year. You just never know what people are cooking, I guess. The mod in question (thanks, IGN), is TankGirl444's 'TGs Galactic Colonies Expanse'. What does it do? Well, I'll let them explain. Rebecca (RPS in peace) was our resident monster **** enjoyer for a while, and she was well up for ******* For Love: First Date, but was slightly disappointed that as a horror-themed dating sim it leaned away from the dating and well into the horror. Now the sequel, ******* For Love: Date To **** For has revealed a release date of April 23rd, and seems to be leaning into horror even more, while also still being a dating sim featuring an eldritch goat **** with massive cans. 16. ***** and Creative Assembly have released the first proper trailer for Total War: Warhammer 3's forthcoming Thrones of Decay expansion, which pits the human Empire, Chaos Nurgle faction and industrious Dwarfs against each other in what the press release terms "a showdown of mohawks, maggots and machines". Well, two can play at that (strategy) game: the new expansion explodes upon the extensive environments of this elaborate ex-tabletop experience with an eccentric... ensemble of new legendary lords, battle units and campaign features, plus various free bits for owners of the base game. 9-3 to me, Creative Assembly! 19. When Mortal Kombat 1 developer NetherRealm revealed DLC character Ermac in the summer of 2023, it suffered a backlash from the community for what many considered to be a downgrade compared to the Mortal Kombat 11 version of the soul-obsessed red-clad ninja. The version of Ermac seen in the Kombat Pack reveal last year showed the character without a mask, which meant fans got a view of Ermac’s new dehydrated mummy face. But that wasn’t the only issue. Ermac’s design was seen as simplistic without much of the detail that fans love from previous versions. Now, NetherRealm has finally unveiled Ermac gameplay, and it shows a significant improvement in design. For a start, the character now wears a mask, and appears to have a more detailed outfit. Elsewhere, Ermac’s powers now glow in teal. Here’s the official blurb on Ermac: Ermac is a collection of souls bound together by Quan Chi’s dark magic that are intended to function as a group mind. But that spell is temporarily undone when Ermac is defeated by Mileena and the mind of King Jerrod, deceased ruler of Outworld and one of the souls in Ermac’s collection, takes control and rejoins the royal family, aiding Empress Mileena’s reign. Eventually, the amalgam of souls reestablishes control, and Ermac retreats to Outworld's shadows. No longer Quan Chi's ******, nor bound to the royal family, he must find a future worth fighting for. In the new video, Ermac’s devastating moveset is on full display, including his ability to teleport, levitate, and utilize a legion of souls to grab, lift, and slam opponents to the ground. The redesign is already going down well with fans, and in the gameplay video itself we see NetherRealm playfully reference the previous debate about Ermac’s look. “You’ve changed since we first met,” Reptile quips as the two characters lock horns. “We believe for the better,” Ermac replies. The gameplay trailer itself shows off Ermac’s telekinesis soul power, which he uses to typically gory effect. We see the character’s Fatality, too, which reduces his opponent to a bag of bones. We also see Kameo character Mavado for the first time, as well as his Kameo Fatality. Mavado is a surprise addition — a somewhat obscure Mortal Kombat character who made their debut in 2002’s Deadly Alliance. In the video we see Mavado use his trademark elastic whips to great effect. Ermac joins Mortal Kombat 1 in Early Access form on April 16, with a full release set for April 23. Mavado joins the Kameo roster later in May. You need the Premium Edition or the Kombat Pack to play early. The Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack includes the Jean-Claude Van Damme character skin for Johnny Cage (available now); one-week early access to six playable DLC characters – Omni-Man (available now), Quan Chi (available now), Peacemaker (available now), Ermac (coming April 16), Homelander, and Takeda Takahashi; and five DLC Kameo Fighters. 22. Movement is one of the most essential tools in Gigantic. Dodging is the best way to evade powerful attacks, but it’s poorly explained. With this in mind, let me show you how to dodge in Gigantic, as there are a couple of ways to do it.How does dodging work in Gigantic?Every character can dodge in Gigantic, and it’s an essential skill to learn as it briefly makes you invulnerable. Even without the invincibility, dodging is a great tool for evading attacks and reaching cover. You can dodge by pressing the left shift + A, S, or D. These commands make you dodge to the left, backward, or right, respectively.Oddly enough, you can’t dodge forwards in Gigantic as left shift + W makes you sprint. It took me a while to figure out this ability; if you’re holding forward while inputting the command, you’ll sprint diagonally instead.Keep in mind that dodging costs stamina, so you can’t spam it. I recommend using your dodges sparingly, as ru...View the full article
  23. The 1.6 Update for Stardew Valley may have improved the game more than anyone ever expected but one of the most lauded features just got even better thanks to an excellent new mod.
