  1. Brace yourself. ***** Space, well, it appears to be ***** again. Yep, EA's reportedly put the series "on hold" for the second time, though, it does at least seem like some ideas for a new entry were briefly considered early last year, though none of them were actually given permission to become a thing. This news follows a chain of events which began with Giant *****'s Jeff Grubb reporting that a ***** Space 2 remake was in development, before being canceled. EA quickly responded to that, sending a statement to IGN which said "We don't normally comment on rumours, but there is no validity to this story." Now, following some digging, it seems that the remake was one of a couple of ideas that were briefly explored, before EA opted to put the series on pause. That last part's according to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, who's reported that EA elected to put ***** Space back on hiatus "as early as last spring", with any desires from developers to make a new entry apparently being "derailed after sales of the remake missed the company’s expectations". 2. Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has stealth dropped new ship upgrades alongside the new Premium Warbond, Democratic Detonation. Six new ship upgrades are now in the Playstation 5 and PC third-person shooter, one for each section of the ship module. Helldivers 2 new ship modules:Superior Packing Methodology: Resupply boxes refill support weapons with the maximum number of carriable magazines.Atmospheric Monitoring: Orbital HE barrage spread reduced by 15%.XXL Weapons Bay: Eagle stratagems that drop multiple ****** will drop one additional *****(s).Enhanced Combustion: ***** damage from stratagems increased by 25%.Circuit Expansion: Lightning arcs, fired from weapons and turrets, jump to one additional ******.Blast Absorption: Sentries take 50% less damage from explosions. Let’s dig into the details here and offer some initial thoughts. 15% less spread on barrages may convince some players to give them another shot (they’re considered weak in the current meta because they’re not focused). Superior Packing Methodology may end up essential for players who use the Recoilless and Spear support weapons. And Enhanced Combustion is going to cause all sorts of chaos with the already buffed flamethrower. Circuit Expansion looks like it could be fun, too. These new ship upgrades require the previous upgrade in each module to already be unlocked before you can buy them with samples, so only pliers who have mixed out their ship upgrades and have plenty of samples on hand will be able to test these out straight away. For everyone else, the grind continues. Arrowhead has a habit of releasing new content for Helldivers 2 without telling players. It secretly dropped a number of new enemies into the game, letting players discover them for themselves. Now it’s done the same for ship upgrades. This one doesn’t come as much of a surprise, though, given Arrowhead teased new ship upgrades were on the way in the most lore friendly way possible after a bug spilled the beans. 3. The legally distinct Cheerios in Tiny Tires, the upcoming miniature racing game that looks to be a loving homage to Micro Machines, have their own physics. This delights me. So does the milk, actually, leaving trails on the checked linoleum tablecloth as the infinitely minute driver tries to compensate for its skidding effect on those titular Tiny Tires. There’s pool ******, too! And floppy disk ramps! Floppy disks were probably still useful the last time anyone thought about Micro Machines, but now I’m reminded of it, I’m suddenly very excited again! Read more View the full article

  5. Stardew Valley may have just received one of its biggest content drops in the form of the 1.6 Update but the fun isn't ending there as ConcernedApe announces that another patch is on the way. Having launched in 2016, Stardew Valley has proven to be a resounding success for its creator in no small part due to his work in maintaining the game with extensive post-launch support. The dedication and love ConcernedApe has shown to the farming RPG and its massive community has prompted many to question whether he ever takes any time off. View the full article

  8. Never Alone, a quiet, snowy adventure set in the Alaskan arctic wilderness, won a Bafta in 2014, and at the Triple-I Initiative stream last night we got a glimpse of the upcoming sequel, Never Alone 2. It's still the tale of Nuna and Fox journeying through aforementioned cold tundra, and like the first game is inspired by Indigenous Iñupiaq storytelling traditions, but this time the story unfolds in co-op. No release date, but we have a teaser trailer for your viewing pleasure. Read more View the full article
  9. Blumhouse is one of the busiest Hollywood studios at the moment, and it all comes down to its approach to keeping budgets under control and always being open to surprising collaborations. This has allowed the studio to reimagine a number of iconic horror properties, and The Blair Witch series might be next in line. On April 10, it was announced that Blumhouse and Lionsgate would team up to make a new Blair Witch movie, the first since 2016's follow-up directed by Godzilla x Kong's Adam Wingard. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it marks the beginning of "a multifilm deal between the studios that will see Blumhouse reimagine horror classics from Lionsgate." The news arrives after Imaginary (released in early March), a collaboration with Lionsgate, made $38 million worldwide on a measly production budget of around $10 million and far less spent on marketing. Lionsgate has also been looking to make easy money out of reasonably budgeted movies, whether they're action, horror, or something else, so this new alliance makes sense for both parties. 12. Helldivers 2 has its next premium warbond, called Democratic Detonation, and there’s an explosive theme with this one. Democratic Detonation adds new weapons, including an Exploding Crossbow and Grenade ******* that are sure to cause as much damage to teammates as they are the automatons and terminids. However, there is new armor that helps with the inevitable increase in explosive damage across the battlefield. As with previous Premium Warbonds, Democratic Detonation costs 1,000 Super Credits. While you can earn Super Credits from gameplay and Warbonds, you can also buy them for real-world money. Via the in-game shop, 1,000 Super Credits costs $9.99. Premium Warbonds do not expire, so you can work your way through them at your own pace safe in the knowledge their items will remain available. Here’s a list of everything in Helldivers 2's new Democratic Detonation Warbond, per Arrowhead: Firepower BR-14 Adjudicator Rifle Deliver righteous judgement to your enemies with accuracy. This armour-penetrating ******** rifle is best used against smaller groups. 14. One of the most unexpected new big-screen projects announced in 2024 (and there have been quite a few so far) is 28 Years Later, the long-awaited follow-up to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. Original screenwriter Alex Garland and director Danny Boyle are back on board, but surprise, surprise: They have plans for an entire trilogy of sequels, and Nia DaCosta (Candyman sequel) is circling the second one. Yes, it's way better to introduce the filmmaker as Candyman's Nia DaCosta rather than The Marvels' Nia DaCosta, since, uh, Marvel Studios' latest movie wasn't very good and cratered incredibly hard at the box office. On top of script-related issues, the director's touch was nowhere to be seen in the final movie, so we're willing to chalk it up to the studio's recent struggles and mismanagement. Also: her Candyman sequel/reboot of sorts rocked. Deadline shared this news on April 10, and while her recruitment sounds very likely, a deal hasn't been closed yet. But you know, this is just the usual, frail Hollywood process of onboarding hot talent. As for the question of why Sony Pictures is already looking at a helmer for the second movie, it's all about lining up DaCosta's vision with Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's as early in the process as possible so they don't end up with a Star Wars sequels situation. Smart move. Read more View the full article For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]
  15. Warning: Major spoilers for the first series of Amazon's Fallout TV Show lie ahead. Ok, so, Amazon's Fallout TV Show is finally here, having dropped either on the evening on April 10, or in the middle of the night early on April 11, depending on where you live. Since all of the episodes dropped at once, as modern series are often wont to do, some people have naturally binged all the way through it, or at least a good way through it. As those who've made it all the way through to the finale, likely with bags under their eyes, have discovered, the show ends with a bit of set up for a potential season two, with a certain location being the big thing that you'll probably get pretty excited about. 17. After registering several reports of unintentionally canceled subscriptions, Twitch has finally taken matters into its own hands, promising a fix and restoration of broken streaks for those affected. In a tweet on April 10, Twitch’s official support page confirmed that it investigated reports of “unexpectedly canceled subs” and addressed the reason behind it. “We found some longstanding, recurring subs did not renew as expected in March and April,” the tweet reads before ruling out any update as the cause. “This was an isolated incident not related to any Twitch updates.” View the full article
  18. League of Legends faces an eternal problem in making its ranked ****** feel balanced and fair, which involves fostering healthy matchmaking for new players and punishing smurfs. A player on Reddit lamented about the current state of ranked on April 10. “I’m convinced that most of the players in plat 2 + (atleast in my server) are just alts. I’m not calling them smurfs because they’re hardstuck exactly where their main is,” they said. They wondered why players would want to place lower on the ranked ladder when using an alt account. 20. Pocketpair has been working hard to provide Palworld players on Xbox the same experience as those on Steam—and the latest set of bug fixes is just one example of its efforts. Unfortunately, while fixing blaring problems, the patch has (temporarily) disabled the chat feature. Palworld’s latest Xbox update on April 10 fixes the annoying bug preventing Xbox and Game Pass players from loading up their old saves correctly. It also addresses other heavily reported bugs affecting crucial mechanics like the Egg Incubator and Raid Boss Bellanoir. Here’s what the patch notes look like: View the full article
  21. League of Legends patches are always “munch on some popcorn and watch the League community explode” moments, and Patch 14.8 is already shaping up to be a doozy on that front—especially because it’s also the patch ***** will be playing MSI on. This patch doesn’t focus on one role; it focuses on them all, which means nearly all your favorites are being targeted, as are the ones causing the most trouble on the Rift. But there are clear winners and, unfortunately, losers in this patch. View the full article
  22. After initially teasing its first big PvP update for a Summer 2024 release, Pocketpair is walking back that messaging, claiming it was “a mistake” that should not have been included in the trailer. Pocketpair dropped a short trailer for Palworld’s PvP Arena on April 10, giving players a glance at what will be the first true player-on-player Pal combat. This included a Summer 2024 release window, which the developers have already marked for the next big Palworld update. Unfortunately, this seems to have been a mistake. View the full article
  23. Maya’s Twitch streaming fanbase has rallied around her today after the conservationist-cross-streamer opened up on a harrowing three-year ordeal she faced with an obsessive secret stalker. The situation got so bad, Maya admitted to her Twitch fans on April 10, that at times she had to “hide in a dark room clutching a ****” and she was even forced to move house once during the ordeal. The stalker—whom Maya has never spoken about publicly before—would regularly declare his love for the then-22-year-old and “look for signs that she was speaking to him” while she was livestreaming. 25. As you've no doubt seen today—and as I've been subtly trying to tell you over the past few weeks—the Fallout TV series is in fact awesome. 9/10, among the best gaming adaptations in ages, awesome. I binge-watched all 8 eps in almost one sitting, and then promptly felt a burning ******* to replay the game series (for like, the tenth time). Collected below are the current best ways for you to do similar, should you feel the same urge. In retro news, I'm celebrating the 27th birthday of Suikoden, an all-timer in the process of being remastered. I rate the sequel higher, as many folks do, but there's still no denying that the OG Suikoden blew Western gamer minds with its memorable narrative, cool headquarters/recruiting layer, and a cast of unique, lovable characters.
