  2. Acer surprised many of us when it decided to enter the discrete graphics card market a few years ago. However, its first offerings were based on Intel GPUs that, with the best will in the world, weren't the most in-demand options. Since then it's added the entry-level AMD Radeon RX 7600 and RX 7900 GRE but has otherwise maintained a modest selection. Now, though, the company has really ramped up its offerings, by bringing out Acer Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT cards. While the RX 7700 XT isn't our absolute favorite GPU, that's only because its slightly more powerful sibling the RX 7800 XT is the better choice of these AMD GPUs, and our pick for the best graphics card under $500. With this card in particular, Acer could finally make some major inroads into the discrete graphics card space. Read the rest of the story... 5. Ring of Honor wrestler Athena debuted some striking new ring gear inspired by Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3 during the most recent Supercard of Honor event. Fans of Baldur's Gate 3, Larian Studios' latest video game based on the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role playing game, went wild for Athena's epic entrance, with those in the crowd and watching at home commending her Karlach-inspired outfit, which came complete with the iconic character's twisty horns and signature axe. Oh wow Congratulations to real-life Karlach @athenapalmer_fg on retaining her title!!! [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] — Samantha Béart is Karlach in Baldur's Gate 3 (@SamanthaBeart) April 6, 2024 Even Samantha Béart, who provided the voice and motion capture for the game's beloved barbarian, reposted a video of Athena's arrival and gave her a shoutout. "Oh wow," Béart wrote on X/Twitter alongside some heart emojis and a gif of the fan-favorite character. "Congratulations to real-life Karlach, Athena, on retaining her title!" Those on Reddit were also impressed with Athena's efforts. "Oh wow, this works on so many levels," one person wrote in a thread dedicated to the wrestler's new gear. Another added: "This is the mashup I needed this year," concurring with the original poster, who wrote: "It's cool to see some Baldur's Gate 3 representation in wrestling." Karlach is a tiefling barbarian in Baldur's Gate 3 who seeks revenge on the man who sold her to an archdevil when she was young. She often channels her rage into ferocious attacks while also surviving vicious strikes from others, making her a particularly fierce fighter (and certainly one who would be formidable in a wrestling ring). /www.instagram.com/p/C5bB7jpuJ3k/embed Athena, also known to the WWE Universe as Ember Moon, shared a carousel of photos from the event on Instagram. "A massive thank you to Larian Studios and D&D for letting me be my favorite character from Baldur's Gate 3, Karlach!" she wrote, tagging another user to thank them for the hair, make-up, and body paint. The Baldur's Gate 3 tribute from Athena is one of several video game cosplays seen at wrestling events. It follows Kenny Omega's Final Fantasy 7 Sephiroth-inspired costume at Wrestle Kingdom last year and Will Ospreay's *********'s Creed Syndicate Jacob Fyre-style entrance gear for the 18th edition of the event this year. 6. The Fallout TV series will be arriving on Amazon Prime Video on April 11, and that means there's never been a better time in recent memory to jump back onto the Fallout hype train in full force (When is Fallout 5, Bethesda?) For now, we'll have to satiate our appetites with a new TV series and a hat full of excellent other games to play. Check out all the best Fallout deals we've found just below, and make sure you've got that Amazon Prime membership ready and waiting (otherwise there's a free 30-day trial here as well). Free Fallout Games for Amazon Prime Members PSA: Fallout 76 is FREE to Download for Prime Members from April 11 (Not Live Yet) For starters, we've found both Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel for free for those who are already Amazon Prime members (which you'll want to be if you're going to watch the show this week). These are GOG codes, with no DRM, and an awesome deal. It's well worth taking advantage of if you've already got most of the other games, or you just want to check out some of the more classic games in the series. Fallout 76 will also be free to download from April 11, which means you can check out the game and all its free add-ons on PC at no charge. For a more complete set of the games on Steam, consider the next deal. Get Seven Fallout Games for Less Than $23 on PC (Steam Codes) If you're looking to own the games on Steam instead, we've got you covered as well (but it'll cost you a bundle of caps). You can score seven Fallout games on PC for just $22.49, which includes Fallout Classic Collection (Fallout, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 2), Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76 (all Steam codes). This is one of the best PC video game deals around right now, and well worth considering if you haven't played through the whole series just yet. FYI: You need to use OMEN10 to get the additional few bucks off (one-time use), otherwise the games are still discounted at $24.99. This is down from the MSRP of $139.95, which is the price that hardly anyone would've paid for this bundle, but I've got to mention it as it makes it seem like a huge discount. If you ignore my cynicism, this is a lovely deal and the perfect way to own (almost) every Fallout game in anticipation of the TV Show kicking off on Amazon Prime, on April 11. Fallout Anthology Edition with Mini ***** Preorders (Out April 11) By the way, if you're vibing with Fallout bundles, may I also interest you in the Fallout S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Anthology Collection which is back up for preorder at the likes of Amazon for $59.99. It includes a replica mini-***** (which plays the signature noise), alongside all seven games aforementioned above. Purely by coincidence, it's also shipping by April 11. So, if you want to play Fallout, you've got a couple of good options that I've just kindly spelled out for you in tremendous detail. Fallout Merch via IGN Store: Sign Up for Email and Save 10% Finally, IGN has a few exclusive deals that you don't want to miss. Right now, you can get 10% off the limited edition Fallout Official Vault 33 Hoodie Orientation Kit, which includes the Vault 33 Hoodie, Pinfinity AR Pin, and a Certificate of Authenticity. All you need to do is sign up for the IGN Store marketing emails, and your free discount code will be ready in no time. Robert Anderson is a deals expert and Commerce Editor for IGN. Classic Mode to Krosmic Mode Krosmic Mode to Classic Mode The Necroworld: A Kingdom of Desolation In the gloomy lands of the Necroworld, Wakfu is nothing but a distant memory. Here, only destructive energy – Stasis – reigns, altering everything that was previously alive. Toross Mordal's fallen kingdom was once full of life. Now it's nothing more than a depleted land of ruin and desolation, where only relics frozen in time remain. At the top of this macabre world, King Toross rules over the Necros, implacable beings, gluttonous devourers of Wakfu, and maddened by purplish energy. They are the only people in the Necroworld. Their emaciated forms and gnashing jaws make them easily recognizable, and they sow ******* wherever they go. Although dark and sinister, Toross Mordal bears the burden of guilt for the sad and cursed fate of his people. As he tries to guide his subjects through worlds, he tirelessly continues his quest for a source of Wakfu that could quench their insatiable hunger, in the hope of finding some semblance of redemption… The Necroworld is a new expansion that will be added to WAVEN's Classic Mode at the end of the Krosmic Mode event. Necroworld Quarters: Puzzles and FightsIn WAVEN, each quarter of the Necroworld corresponds to a level range. To access the next quarter, you need to complete five specific rooms in the preceding quarter. Throughout your solo journey in the various rooms, you'll face puzzles and special fights that try to prevent you from reaching the area's guardian. To move from one room to another, you need to use keys that you've gained as rewards. Certain rooms require more keys to be opened than others: It's your choice how you want to ****** your way through! Necros won't be the only opponents you face. Each quarter is also infested with a specific monster family. The further you progress, the more Necros you face in combat, which increases the difficulty. Once a quarter has been completed, a new unique path will open up within, presenting even tougher challenges as well as rewards worthy of the feat… Behind Toross Mordal's Door: The Final Battle At the heart of the Necroworld, Toross Mordal's door awaits, locked. It will only open once all the guardians have been defeated. When the required conditions have been met, the ****** king will stand firmly against you over several chapters of increasing difficulty. However, you only have one attempt per day to subdue Toross Mordal and save the World of Twelve from disaster. You'll never make it alone… The fights behind Toross Mordal's door have been designed to be fought in co-op with other players, but they can be attempted solo. They are divided into six sequential chapters, from level 100 to level 150. Rewards: A Special System In the Necroworld, you only earn rewards once per ******. In other words, only first-time rewards (FTR) are granted. However, with each attempt in Toross Mordal's realm, you can earn Wakfu Fragments if you win. Companions, Equipment and Spells: New Necromic Items With the Necroworld, new "Necromic" items have arrived. You can get them from rotating loot on WAVEN's islands and monsters as well as from Kabrok and Miranda's Shop. Miranda will run her own counter, and her items will be sold individually for Wakfu Fragments. Eight spells, five companions, four rings and an armband will be added to the game. The World of Twelve needs heroes! Stop the Necros from sealing its fate… Transfer Your Progress At the end of the Krosmic Mode event, a service will be available in the shop to transfer all the progress you made* (heroes, items, resources) to Classic Mode. This service will only be available for a limited time in exchange for Gems. It will also be included for free with the Platinum Passes that cover the event (April 9 to June 4). *The WAVEN team reserves the right to make adjustments to the quantities transferred to Classic Mode if necessary. 22. As you might be aware, one of the many themes of the Fallout series is that allowing a world to be filled with with lots of big corporations sucking up resources at an unsustainable rate in pursuit of endless growth will, er, probably not end well. Apparently, this is something the Fallout TV Show's creators were keen to capture, despite the fact the series is being released exclusively via the streaming service of, er, Amazon. To be fair, it does very much sound like the show's creators are very aware of the dissonance that comes from projecting the message 'unchecked corporations bad' via the airwaves of a corportation that continues to expand to levels where interacting with it's basically unavoidable a lot of the time. Speaking to TheGamer, showrunner Graham Wagner touched on how the show's creators have approached that issue. "For us, it was part of the appeal, the absurdity of that," he explained, "That we get to tell a story about a world that bet big on mega-corporations and it collapsed and put it on Amazon is too delicious for words."
