I need to take all the opportunities to write about Fall Guys that I can get, given how much time I spend playing it with my son. This is a pretty good opportunity, too: a set of Star Wars skins are coming to the bean battle royale, as announced yesterday on May 4th, and they coincide with some major changes to Fall Guys' platforming physics. Yu-Gi-Oh! obviously originally started life as a manga, but an English-language translation of a Magic: The Gathering manga is finally on the way now. The world of manga is a really diverse one, filled with all kinds of weird and unique stories you don't always get in mainstream comics. One such odd comic is ******** All Humans. They Can't Be Regenerated. A Magic: The Gathering Manga, a manga that is quite literally about playing the popular card game. Earlier this week, manga publisher Viz Media announced that the card game manga would finally be getting an English translation this coming autumn, and best of all for Magic players, it'll come with an exclusive card. "Seems like in everything he does, geeky Tokigawa Middle School student Hajime Kano always comes in second place behind popular honor student Emi Sawatari," reads an official plot description of the manga. "But when Hajime takes a trip to a new game store he’s been hearing about, their rivalry takes an unexpected turn. Turtle Beach is no stranger to flight peripherals, but I would argue it's not the first name that comes to mind when you imagine a flight stick. Following the release of the VelocityOne Flight Deck, however, that could be about to change. This HOTAS (hands-on throttle and stick) system offers a great, if pricey, flight control system with several layers of detail for experienced pilots. In fact, after spending plenty of time using the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight Deck in a variety of flight sim and aerial combat games, I can confidently say that it is the best PC joystick for anyone looking for quality and depth. Yes, the sheer volume of inputs and displays can be overwhelming, but you're also free to set up your experience to just cover surface-level needs if you wish. Read the rest of the story... Helldivers 2 is falling from grace a touch, as now the game has seemingly been pulled from ***** in over 170 countries on Steam. Earlier this week, Sony made the very controversial announcement that soon all Helldivers 2 PC players would have to link their Steam accounts to a PSN account just to play the game. This has, to put it very lightly, not been received very well. By that I mean, the game is being review bombed on Steam due to the decision, resulting in the game receiving more than 100,000 negative reviews in just a couple of days. That's left it with a recent review rating of mostly negative, and an overall rating of mixed. Well, things are likely about to get even worse, as it seems that the game has outright been pulled from ***** in more than 170 countries on Steam. Important to note here is that PSN is currently only available in 69 countries, so there were a lot of concerns that some players would simply no longer be able to play the game. Now, many more just outright won't be able to buy the game, a move that I can only describe as baffling. According to deals wizard Wario64, there have also been reports of Steam approving refund requests even if someone has played above the two hour limit, but your mileage may vary there. FromSoftware was very far off in its estimate of how long it would take players to beat Elden Ring, so it's refusing to say how long the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree is. Back in January of 2022, about a month before Elden Ring took over everyone's lives, FromSoftware's Yasuhiro Kitao shared that the game's main story would take about 30 hours to beat. That, as we all found out, was a load of malarkey, as Elden Ring was an absolutely gargantuan game. Yeah, sure, maybe on a second playthrough you could beat the game that quickly (I know I put 10 hours into the game before I even beat Margit), but a first playthrough was never going to go down that quickly. Now, in a recent interview with ******** outlet Bonfire (translated by swordandflower on Twitter), game director Hidetaka Miyazaki wouldn't say how long Shadow of the Erdtree precisely because they got it wrong with the base game. "For play time… I shouldn’t be the one to answer this question," Miyazaki said. "During an interview I’ve said that the Elden Ring will take around 30ish hours to finish the main game but after it was released, everyone told me that I was lying and that’s not remotely enough time haha! Well, as developers, we continuously playtest and iterate on our games, so we know all there is to know regarding the game. And because of that, our playtime isn’t a good reference point." One of the biggest League of Legends patches in 14.10 is on the horizon, and in a surprise move, the devs are completely scrapping one of the game’s most powerful runes in Lethal Tempo. So far, players are thrilled about its removal and can’t wait for the update next fortnight. League players discussed the rune’s removal and what it means for the meta in a Reddit thread this weekend. “Purely from a balance and feel-good standpoint, [Lethal Tempo]’s removal is one of the best recent changes ever made,” one player said. “Weak early game champions weren’t as weak as they should’ve been: Yasuo [and] Yone especially. Even Kayle could win level 1 against a Darius/Olaf if they kited properly and took LT.” The player emphasized that several champions had their weaknesses completely removed by the rune, avoiding any counter-play because they could just run up to you and one-shot you. It may be too early to say that Aussie Counter-Strike is back, but the FlyQuest boys are flying high after exceeding expectations in Chengdu and Malta this weekend. While a change of scenery at their new org has been beneficial, young **** Declan “Vexite” Portelli puts the shift down to team composition. The 19-year-old, who is now over a year on from his international LAN debut at the IEM Rio RMR, said the team’s shift from Grayhound to FlyQuest this year has not left a mark on the team when it comes to performance or expectations. Instead, he specifically highlights the personnel swap—the return of Chris “dexter” Nong—as what truly lit a ***** under the squad. View the full article
Restricted Legendary Pokémon have finally entered the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet metagame, and the usage chart of the first major Regulation G event—this weekend’s Indianapolis Regionals—points to two interesting VGC trends. Pokémon VGC players were especially hyped for Indianapolis Regionals with beloved world champ Wolfe Glick joining the caster team and a brand new format to play: Regulation G. The new regs added restricted Legendary Pokémon to the meta, but it’s clear which ones players are leaning toward. According to the usage data from day one of the event, both of Calyrex’s rider forms topped the chart, followed by Kyogre, Koraidon, Miraidon, Terapagos, Zamazenta, and Groudon. View the full article
Veteran Counter-Strike map creator FMPONE has delighted fans with an update on his Cache remaster for CS2 today, with stunning new images showcasing the map’s redesign for the sequel. However, he also warned fans the map will need a little more time in the oven before its official launch. FMPONE shared screenshots of the ongoing Cache remaster on X (formerly Twitter) in the late evening of May 4. The images show off the classic map in all its glory, especially in the new lighting provided by the upgrade in visuals brought about by CS2. It looks a little different from its previous version with the green mossy exterior from the CS:GO rework cut back, instead bringing about the return of the map’s original beige facade.
