Grimdark is the way of the world in many sci-fi TTRPGs. After all, every adventure needs conflict, so why not make conflict the entire theme? Warhammer built a megafranchise off that fact. Still, there's only so much dakka one can stand before wanting to try something new. Fortunately, there's tons of grimdark sci-fi to try out in the wake of 40k's success. The Shadowdark TTRPG would have fit the bill had it been dark sci-fi instead of fantasy. Fortunately, this rules hack may be the solution. Read the rest of the story... If you don't wish to be lumped in with a small subsection of the gaming sphere that welcomes the use of AI for how it threatens well-meaning studios and their talent, you may have another game to approach with caution. Martial arts RPG game, Where Winds Meet, released to ten million pre-registrations this week, has landed on Steam to hundreds of thousands of players but divisive ratings. It's not immediately the fault of its developers padding its living world with AI chatbot NPCs who respond to your inputs, but their inclusion is beginning to break the fourth wall of this wuxia-style ancient ******** hero simulator. It is the fate of every Dungeons and Dragons player to make that one overly cool character. You know the one, in a sea of funny lil guys, this character is your fanfic character made manifest. They will have the most flashy powers, angstiest backstory, and suave disposition. Maybe they're dropping more one-liners than an Austrian bodybuilder turned movie star. Or perhaps the silent but badass type, too cool to share their thoughts. Whatever the case, they're probably gonna need tattoos, and that's exactly what the Tome of Mystical Tattoos III provides. Ashes of Creation is coming to Steam in a move that I wasn't prepared to see for quite some time. The hugely ambitious project from Intrepid Studios is one I've been watching for almost a decade now. The new Stella Montis map has plenty of locked locations, and you will need a key to open the Security Checkpoint location in ARC Raiders. Located on the upper floor of the map, the Security Checkpoint room is pretty easy to find. The easiest route is via the Lobby POI. However, it's no point visiting the place without a key, and this guide will help to ease your problem. Most keys typically spawn at Residential buildings on all four maps. I managed to find the Security Checkpoint key from the Ruby Residence apartment buildings on Dam Battlegrounds. I found it immediately after the community unlocked the Stella Montis map. There's no specific point in the building, and it's completely random. There are plenty of containers to loot, and you could end up finding the key you're looking for. Apart from these two locations, try to search areas that are tagged as Residential sectors on any map. Ultimately, you'll have to look properly in such areas and depend heavily on your luck. Once you find the key, you can head to the Security Checkpoint room to loot. There's a nearby metro excavation as well for you to escape with the loot. However, be careful, as I have come up against Shredders at this location. When Riot announced that its mysterious Project K was, in fact, a League of Legends card game known as Riftbound, I approached it with, to borrow game designer Jonathan Moorman's words, "some trepidation." I've been pretty open about my complex relationship with LoL: it's the game I've sunk the most hours into and absolutely the one I love the most, but from around mid-2024 into 2025, it feels, in many ways, unrecognizable. Its characters and gameplay are the same, but having blitzed through a few games in a post-Worlds spree, it doesn't quite elicit the same emotions that it used to. In many ways, we've grown apart (it's not you, it's me), and I was hoping that Riftbound would reignite that spark. Read the rest of the story...
