  2. Cosmoem is the second evolution of Cosmog, and it has two distinct final evolutions you can pick from in Pokémon Go: Solgaleo and Lunala. Deciding between these two legendary Pokémon can be tough, but there are stark differences between the two. These differences offer unique bonuses for both choices. While you will eventually want to catch them both at least once to add them to your Pokédex, knowing which one to go for first can be challenging. Is one stronger than the other? Is one easier to use? There are a lot of questions you may need to ask before you make this decision. Here’s a full breakdown on if you should evolve Cosmoem into Solgaleo or Lunala in Pokémon Go. 8. The trailer for Bambas! starts off innocently enough. It's an "innovative urban walking simulator" in which you play a disembodied pair of shoes, individually moved with a controller's analog sticks and trigger buttons. The first half of the trailer is all whimsy and playground fun - kicking a football, standing on a climbing frame, riding a skateboard. But then a note of darkness creeps in, as the player begins to channel the sheer nihilistic inconsequentiality of a world in which shoes have no thinking human bodies to restrain them. 13. Photo by Tom Warren / The Verge Listening to Nintendo music isn’t easy. It’s not available on streaming platforms, so I usually end up scouring YouTube for songs from Animal Crossing and Metroid. Because of this, I was hoping that Nintendo Music, a new app that surprise-launched last week, would be my one-stop shop for listening to Nintendo soundtracks. But while it features some clever ideas, there are lots of frustrations and weird choices from Nintendo that mean it isn’t quite what I was hoping for. Navigating the app, which is available on iOS and Android but only accessible to Switch Online subscribers, feels a lot like other music services like Apple Music or Spotify. You can browse tracks from individual games or hand-curated playlists themed around things like... Continue reading… View the full article
  14. League of Legends fans who can’t wait for Arcane season two to drop are in for a treat: Not only are Arcane skins coming to the game ahead of season two’s release, but every character in the show is receiving some Arcane love. And that means skins. Lots and lots of skins. Always wanted to give Caitlyn a combat-ready beret with her Piltover uniform? Now you can. Same goes for a popped-collar jacket and hextech gauntleted Vi or a creepy, chemical-laden Singed with his classic face covering transformed into the high, maroon scarf he sports in the show. There are even several variations on Jinx’s Super Mega ****** Rocket to make you feel like you’re destroying the Piltover council in any ranked game you play. If you feel like going with the ****** and destruction route, of course. I mean, you’re the one playing Jinx. View the full article

  17. Competitive is back and better than ever in Overwatch 2, but it isn’t available to everyone by default. If you’re a returning player, you’ll be able to jump right in and play Competitive immediately. If you’re new to the franchise, though, there are some extra hoops you’ll need to jump through to unlock Competitive Play. These steps better prepare players for the unique challenges of Competitive and cut down on toxicity between players, or so the Overwatch 2 development team hopes. Like in other games’ ranked modes, dedicated players can progress through the Overwatch 2 ranks on their way to becoming a Grand Master. View the full article

  23. Smash hit co-op shooter Helldivers 2 seems ripe for a crossover, but which franchises might it partner with? That’s a fun conversation players have been having ever since the game’s explosive launch earlier this year. Now, Helldivers 2’s creative director has had his say, revealing a number of intellectual properties he’d love to work with. In a tweet, Arrowhead CCO and Helldivers 2 creative director Johan Pilestedt cautioned against doing too many crossovers, saying “it would dilute the IP and make it a ‘not Helldivers’ experience.” However, he also published an extended list of IPs he “really would love to do a take on!” AliensStarship TroopersTerminatorPredatorStar WarsFifth ElementBlade RunnerWarhammer 40kTrench CrusadeMutant ChroniclesDropzone Commander It’s easy to see how many of these franchises would work within Helldivers 2. Starship Troopers is the obvious choice, given Helldivers 2 riffs so heavily on the cult classic sci-fi flick. Terminator, too, seems an easy fit, given the Automaton alien ****** are basically Terminators themselves. Aliens, Predator, and Star Wars are fun to think about, but my favorite is Warhammer 40,000. It would be amazing to drop down into a planet overrun by Tyranids or Necrons as an Imperial Guard soldier, complete with lore-accurate weapons, vehicles, and, of course, dialogue. Yes, Warhammer 40,000 fans have the wonderful and hugely successful Space Marine 2 to play right now, but that's a Space Marine game. Helldivers 2 is near enough an Imperial Guard game already. I’d drop a dollar or 10 on an Imperial Guard crossover in a heartbeat. Which brings us on to the next question: how might Helldivers 2 do crossovers if it ever came to it? In a subsequent tweet, Pilestedt suggested it could come in the form of a Warbond (Helldivers 2’s take on a battle pass) or even individual super store items. “Having a full Starship Troopers Warbond with mobile infantry armor, voices and weapons would also be cool!” Pilestedt said, before stressing: “Nothing decided yet. Just musings :)” Can Arrowhead do a deal for a crossover? Helldivers 2 has certainly done well enough to draw out some big hitters. Let’s not forget that Helldivers 2 is the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game of all time, selling an incredible 12 million copies in just 12 weeks. And while player numbers on Steam aren’t what they once were, they’re still extremely healthy. For now, though, crossover dreams remain just that. In the shorter term, Arrowhead continues to update Helldivers 2 with new Warbonds and patches, with the threat of a new alien faction looming over the galactic horizon. 24. To say that Factorio: Space Age throws out the rulebook is an understatement. It'd be more fitting to say it's somehow automated the whole process: an inserter plucked out the rulebook from my brain and deposited it in hot magma, while a new rulebook was churned out in a nearby machine and plopped into my brain from the other side - only for that to be immediately plucked out and incinerated as well. With each new planet and each new phase, Space Age reinvents itself. I'm battling hyperbole here, but ah *****, I admit defeat. Factorio: Space Age is a masterpiece, the final form of perhaps the most well-crafted building game I'll ever play. Read more View the full article
