  2. The greatest war games are all about scale. Perhaps you remember Medal of Honor Allied ********, the superlative FPS from 2002. By today's standards it may look antiquated, but back then, the Omaha Beach level was ******* and more alive than anything you'd seen before - it really felt like a huge-scale battle, with thousands of soldiers and vehicles. Battlefield V can also feel suitably expansive. Likewise ***** Let Loose. But there's one unique MMO that is ******* than all of them, and still, somehow, manages to slip beneath the radar. A combination of Civilization's building and logistics and the co-op tactics of Commandos, it's just gotten an enormous new update, and now, Foxhole is close to breaking its all-time record on Steam. Blizzard's iconic sci-fi RTS series has been largely dormant for a while now, with World of Warcraft, Diablo 4, and Overwatch 2 taking most of the studio's attention. But between all of these games, there have been ongoing rumors of a return. Speculation abounds over a possible StarCraft FPS, and right now, that feels like it might actually be happening. 4. Hoo boy, there’s a lot to unpack for this preview of Beastieball. This is a game that I knew was going to be a bit of a challenge for me because I’m old, very tired of the Pokémon formula, and I’m not a fan of the CalArts art style that this game utilizes. That said, […] Source View the full article

  6. Bleasdale Farmhouse is a vast and eerie home that can be tough to navigate in Phasmophobia. Cursed Possessions can make your investigation easier if you’re lucky, but only if you know where to find them on this map. Many of the Cursed Objects are small, and this map is quite dark even with the lights on, making finding them difficult. It’s a lot easier if you know where to look, so here are the exact locations of every Cursed Possession at the Bleasdale Farmhouse map in Phasmophobia. View the full article
  7. Over the past few days, the dam has peroperly broken on Dragon Age: The Veilguard modding, with folks finally starting to be able to do stuff that isn't just reshades or Rook presets. Anyway, we've now hit that blessed point where mods that're pretty funny are starting to arrive - such as one that covers the Dread Wolf himself in lipstick. Read more View the full article
  8. A new single-board computer (SBC) is making a splash, as it packs an incredible amount of power under its tiny hood. Dubbed the Next-SBC, the x86-based machine is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS - a step up from the 7840U found in some PC handhelds released in 2023. The future of the mini gaming PC is looking strong. The upcoming hardware is shown off in a new pair of videos from YouTuber ETA Prime. In one he shows the AMD-based machine running Windows 11, and in another, it's shown running Bazzite, a Linux distribution meant to replicate the Steam Deck experience with Steam OS. Valve's work with SteamOS and its gaming mode often puts it ahead of the competition for the best gaming handheld. Read the rest of the story... 10. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 launches on Steam and the Microsoft Store today. Developed once again by Asobo - otherwise celebrated for their stinking rat hordes - it builds upon the 2020 game by "[taking] advantage of the latest technologies in simulation, cloud, machine learning, graphics and gaming", in the words of the launch announcement release We've got a review in the works, but code has landed late, so our write-up might take a while. In the shorter term, I thought you might like to know how, exactly, MFS 2024 makes use of "machine learning" technologies, taking into account the energy cost of such wacky gadgetry and the creeping relationship between increased reliance on automated tools and laying people off. More immediately, you might like to know how much of your internet package it'll devour as you play. Read more View the full article For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]

  13. Mighty Pokémon is a new type of pocket monster making its debut in Pokémon Go as part of the Wild Tour event, with 16 different Pokémon available from Nov. 23 to 24. Niantic has not announced if more Mighty Pokémon will come in future events. Outside of announcing these new types of creatures, Niantic hasn’t done a great job explaining what a Mighty Pokémon is, the benefits of having one, or how to find one. 14. In some ways, the Meta Quest 3S is the true successor to the Quest 2. While the latter made a big splash during the Covid pandemic, offering players a way to connect with their friends in a more immersive way, the Meta Quest 3 didn't receive similar luck. Better internal hardware and a more comfortable headset, as well as the introduction of full mixed reality, meant a high price, and many weren't eager to upgrade. However, the Meta Quest 3S should be much more tempting, bringing the chipset found in one of the best VR headsets and practically putting it into the Quest 2's shell. While that does mean the Quest 3S shares plenty of familiar issues, it also means you can play some of the best VR games on the market, and that's worth the asking price alone. 17. It appears that PC builders have gone all in on AMD Ryzen, as Amazon's top ten processor list contains nothing but the company's CPUs. Intel has been pushed out to 12th place, as the company's latest generations of CPUs have been besieged with issues. This isn't so much the case for AMD, which despite some issues surrounding the initial Zen 5 launch, has come out on top with its new CPU with 3D V-cache, especially compared to the new Intel chips. 20. A long while ago I wrote about Vampire Survivors-likes needing to stop overwhelming you with visual clutter. I've since played a few games of a similar ilk that don't hammer you with a chaos that's impossible to dissect with your eyeballs. 25. Control has some of the best storytelling I've ever seen in videogames. Jesse Faden's trip into the unknown is a gripping one, and Remedy's design of the brutalist Oldest House is unlike anything you'll find in rival third-person shooters.
