  4. Some gamers are taking issue with the increased file size of Ninja Gaiden 2 ******, a new remaster of the 2008 game. Xbox recently held its impressive Developer Direct showcase where it dove deep into several big games it has coming this year, like Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Its secret fourth game turned out to be the reveal of Ninja Gaiden 4, which is being made in collaboration with the original handler of the franchise, Team Ninja, as well as with PlatinumGames. A Ninja Gaiden 2 ****** remaster was also revealed alongside of it and was subsequently shadow-dropped, leading to even more Ninja Gaiden buzz. View the full article

  7. On the Final Fantasy 14 forums, game producer and director Naoki Yoshida stated that Square Enix may take legal action against the author of the controversial PlayerScope mod. 8. Assassin's Creed Shadows has a lot of obvious opportunities as the franchise's first visit to Japan, and a lot of those come in the form of storytelling options. Set in the Sengoku ******* of Japanese history, a time of significant political upheaval and military conflict, the game has no shortage of dynamic characters and intense confrontations to choose from. It also, however, places itself among stiffer competition, as the game has to stack up against plenty of fantastic shinobi and samurai narratives of the past. View the full article
  9. Baldur's Gate 3 has been released for well over a year now, and has been one of my favorite games since. As such, I've been trying to find new ways to experience it, and trying to think of all the different types of flair I can give to my Tavs. I found a lot of that through multiplayer runs, especially with friends who hadn't played the game before, since I love being able to experience everything for the first time again with them. 10. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi recently clarified past comments he made about the nature of Cloud and Aerith’s relationship in the new continuity. For longtime Final Fantasy fans, the love triangle between Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart, and Aerith Gainsborough is one of the most debated character dynamics in the series, with both the original Final Fantasy 7 and last year’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth giving Cloud plenty of tender moments with both girls. In the original Final Fantasy 7 continuity, Cloud seems destined to build a romance with Tifa, even if the series hasn’t made it clear if they are in such a relationship. View the full article
  11. Asmongold has found himself front and center of many online discussions around streamers and political figures in the days since Donald Trump’s inauguration, and today is no different after fellow streamer Hasan ****** called out Asmongold’s humor and the welcoming environment it creates for certain people. Specifically, Hasan called out Asmongold’s so-called “edgy” humor when it came to anti-Semitism and Nazi dog whistles, reacting to a clip on stream where Asmongold responds to a message in chat about 4chan posters claiming the streamer was Jewish. Asmongold denied those claims to his chat, saying he was *******, “the opposite” of Jewish, he claimed, before telling them to “get that idea out of your ******** head.” This clip, coupled with other statements and jokes the Asmongold has made on stream and elsewhere, seemed to be a tipping point for Hasan, who said the streamer was essentially creating a space for Nazis to feel comfortable in. 12. If you're looking for an Anker power bank that can handle the demands of a power guzzling gaming handheld like the Steam Deck or ROG Ally X, Woot! is offering the best deal. Right now, you can score an Anker PowerCore 737 24,000mAh 140W Power Bank for only $69.99. Amazon Prime members get free shipping, otherwise pay $6. This is the best price we've seen for one of our favorite Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally X chargers. I have owned this power bank for over a year; it has been on multiple flights and road trips and is still lasting strong. Anker 737 24,000mAh 140W Power Bank for $69.99 The Anker 737 is a hefty power bank, measuring 4.6"x2.2"x2" and weighing in at 1.4lbs. This is something you'd put in your travel bag or backpack instead of your pocket. It has two USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port. The USB Type-C ports support a maximum of 140W of power delivery. That means a single port could deliver 140W, or both ports will deliver a combination of 140W depending on which devices are plugged in (for example, 70W + 70W or 100W + 40W). In terms of gaming handhelds, the Steam Deck supports up to 38W of charging, the Asus ROG Ally up to 65W, the Asus ROG Ally X up to 100W, and the Nintendo Switch up to 18W. That means the Anker Prime can easily charge all three gaming handhelds – even the ROG Ally X – at their maximum rate; you'll even be able to play and charge simultaneously. A 20,000mAh battery equates to a 74Whr capacity. An 80% power efficiency rating (which is about standard for power banks) gives you about 59Whr of available charge. That means this power bank will charge a Steam Deck (40Whr) or Asus ROG Ally (40Whr) from empty to completely full 1.5 times, an Asus ROG Ally X (80Whr) 0.75 times, and a Nintendo Switch (16Whr) about 3.7 times. You can see here why we think a 20,000mAh capacity should be the bare minimum for more power hungry gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally (and especially the Ally X). The Anker 737 is TSA-approved TSA states that power banks must be under 100Whr in capacity for carry-on (check-in is not allowed under any circumstances). This Anker Prime is safely under that at 74Whr. You might get checked simply because the Anker 737 is a hefty-looking power bank, but you shouldn't have any problems getting it cleared. I've gone through plenty of airport checkpoints and have only been checked once – at Tokyo NRT – and cleared without a problem. Why Should You Trust IGN's Deals Team? 13. Diablo 4's Season 7 is now live, bringing quite a few changes, including the new Witchcraft Power system. This system lets you use up to six Witch Powers at a time, which you can upgrade for even more power. If you played during the Season of Blood, you'll notice that this system is similar to the Vampiric Powers you had access to. This time, you can only have six powers at once, but getting and upgrading them is relatively straightforward. View the full article
  14. Saber Interactive's Space Marine 2 is one of the best games of 2024 even if you're not already a fan of Games Workshop's grimdark sci-fi world - and, for the second time in recent months, webstore Fanatical is including it in its $1 random Mystery Star Bundle. 17. I am terrible at roleplaying in video games, and, despite its promise of offering a truly next-gen open-world experience, Cyberpunk 2077 has not fixed that. I'm not sure where my struggles with roleplaying come from, whether it's the limitations of the game stifling my imagination - getting stuck in terrain or NPCs running out in front of my car definitely don't help - or whether I'm simply ill-equipped to totally embody a role, especially one that's already laid-out, such as V. 18. Now that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is in a staple place, BioWare has shared they have no further plans for major updates to the game. Despite releasing just last October, this new entry into the Dragon Age franchise has seen some mixed reviews from fans and overall lacked the player numbers that EA anticipated. With some players adoring the game's new styling and others reminiscing on the past, the game is in quite a peculiar spot all around. View the full article

  20. The last mainline Dynasty Warriors game I played is so old that it could buy me a drink, but I still remembered the five immortal words uttered by ardent fans when I booted up Dynasty Warriors: Origins: Do not pursue Lu Bu. When I first came face-to-face with the infamous warlord in Origins, the game spared no expense to establish how fearsome he is. "That's Lu Bu… a ferocious man whose skills are legendary," said my then-companion Cao Cao. "Don't risk your life fighting him." My mission objective changed to "Escape with Cao Cao," and a warning flashed on the screen saying "Be cautious of Lu Bu's approach!".. Read more.View the full article

  22. It looks as though AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT pre-orders could start later than initial reports suggested. A new leak from a US retailer points to a late March date for this new AMD graphics card to become available for pre-orders. AMD has already confirmed that the Radeon RX 9070 XT release date will be in March, but hasn't provided a specific day for the launch yet. While this new Radeon GPU isn't expected to be the best graphics card out there when it launches, it's still expected to serve as a strong competitor against mid-tier Nvidia RTX 50-series cards such as the RTX 5070, with hopefully a competitive price tag to match. 23. Too many worthy games get lost in the noise. It's understandable. We've all got big backlogs that we're trying to work through, and new releases arrive practically every hour. But it means a lot of solid or experimental titles fall by the wayside. Humankind is a good example. Originally released back in 2021, some less-than-fanatical early user reviews meant it was quickly overshadowed by strategy genre giants like the immovable Civilization 6 and Paradox's Stellaris. But as Amplitude confirms Endless Legend 2 is on the way, Humankind is well worth another look, especially right now. After a transformative update, it's now temporarily completely free to play, and then available at a huge discount. Read the rest of the story... 25. The developers of Assassin's Creed Shadows say most of the game can be completed with just one of its dual protagonists, but players are better off experimenting anyway. Although it's not the first time an Assassin's Creed game has had multiple playable characters, it is the first time the two of them have had such radically different playstyles. Naoe, the shinobi, embodies the classic Assassin's Creed style, specializing in stealth and secrecy. Yasuke, meanwhile, is a heavily-armored samurai who walks right into the heart of battle, fending off enemies with deft skill, but far less subtlety. View the full article
