  1. One of the most anticipated updates for Baldur’s Gate 3, and perhaps its final one, has now accidentally been released to PlayStation 5 players. The patch, adding a bunch of new content and numerous subclasses, was supposed to come out later this year, and the devs are on the case. Earlier on Jan. 27, reports from players started cropping up claiming that the eighth and likely final update for Baldur’s Gate 3 has mysteriously become available to players on the PS5 way ahead of its planned release and upcoming stress test. The players who had gained access to this highly anticipated patch said that they weren’t signed up to any sort of stress test or other early access program, and had no idea how the patch appeared in their games. Larian has since responded to this issue, stating that they’re “working to understand what’s going on” and warned players against making saves on the latest patch since “any saves made while on Patch 8 will not be compatible with Patch 7.” View the full article

  6. It looks like gamers won't have to wait too long for AMD FSR 4 to hit their favorite games, as long as the game already supports FSR 3.1. That's according to a leaker who suggests that FSR4 should "just work" with previously-supported FSR 3.1 games. It looks like it's all down to how AMD is able to integrate the support automatically, without developer support. If this approach works as suggested, AMD will be able to quickly add support for its new and improved AI resolution upscaling technology, supported by the best graphics cards made by the company in a wide range of games. This is good news for gamers, providing a path for graphics upgrades that doesn't rely on the time and goodwill of busy game developers. Read the rest of the story... 16. An Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 benchmark leak has appeared online, just days ahead of the expected launch date for the new gaming GPU. Data from the leak suggests that while the RTX 5080 might not beat the last-gen flagship RTX 4090 on performance, it's at least a little faster than the RTX 4080 Super. The RTX 5080 release date isn't far off now, with the RTX 5090 set to be the best graphics card you can buy if you want the fastest performance possible. In contrast, the RTX 5080 sits in a more curious position. Should this data prove to be accurate, this new Nvidia graphics card will sit performance-wise between the RTX 4080 Super and the RTX 4090, while (on paper) being offered for ***** at a much cheaper price than the 4090. The content drop is set to include some huge features, like a photo mode and more subclasses, and will be the RPG's last. It's the sequel to the sci-fi shipbuilding game we quite enjoyed here at RPS. 24. In a recent marketing manual for the new Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual, Wizards of the Coast claimed that it would include "more playable options that aren't humanoid" in future books.
