  2. Ubisoft has delayed The Division 2's upcoming DLC, pushing it out of the game's current Year 6 plans, in an effort to "deliver the best possible experience." This isn't the first delay for the story DLC, as it was previously postponed into 2025 as part of a comprehensive plan to tackle the game's health. This also isn't Ubisoft's first delay of the year, as the publisher moved Assassin's Creed Shadows back a month just a few weeks ago. Read the rest of the story... 3. Did you have a tamagotchi as a kid? I did, and yes, I too let it die. I am thankful that the handheld LCD graphics of the era did not allow me to witness my companion blob's amiable decline into *****-caked starvation. I am also thankful that my tamagotchi did not itself have a tamagotchi, because the only life principle I ever taught my tamagotchi was neglect. This is also the reason I may never play the reportedly pretty decent virtual **** game Yoke Heroes: A Long Tamago, whose developers 14 Hours Productions are defying God and Man by developing another virtual **** sim inside it. 5. Nvidia has confirmed that it believes the melting power cable problem that beset its RTX 4090 cards won't reoccur with the RTX 5090 cable. That's despite the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 consuming 125W more power than the RTX 4090. Nvidia made the claim in a recent Q&A session at an editor's day in South Korea. With users set to fork out $2,000 for the new best graphics card in its class, one journalist asked the company directly if the melting cable issue should be a concern for potential buyers. 8. There's already been a lot of hype around the upcoming launch of AMD's Strix Halo laptop CPUs, with the specs suggesting the chip's integrated Radeon GPU will be faster than the one in the PS5. Now a new scalp has been claimed, as AMD is suggesting the integrated graphics on this AMD Ryzen gaming laptop CPU is fast enough to outrun a laptop-grade Nvidia RTX 4070. Strix Halo is the internal codename for a new design of AMD chip that has now been announced as the Ryzen AI Max class of laptop CPUs. Destined to be used in some of the best gaming laptop designs in the future, as well as mobile workstations, the new Ryzen AI Max chips stand apart from most gaming laptop designs, as instead of using a normal CPU and a separate gaming GPU chip, Strix Halo incorporates a powerful GPU into the same package as the CPU. This should make for much more compact and power-efficient gaming laptops, while also having enough speed to outdo an RTX 4070. Read the rest of the story... 10. A Grand Theft Auto superfan is recreating the GTA 6 map in GTA 5 based on the snippets of information released by Rockstar so far. YouTuber Dark Space is chronicling the work on their channel and on X/Twitter, showing how Vice Beach and the Venetian Islands are inside GTA 5 as fully detailed maps. Despite the fact Rockstar has so far only released one trailer for GTA 6, fans have mapped out the playable area they expect to see in the game, which is due out fall 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. For my next video, I've been working hard at making the GTA 6 community map real. Here's a look at my progress so far: [Hidden Content] — Dark Space (@Dark_SpaceYT) January 25, 2025 Speaking to IGN, Dark Space expects to release the GTA 5 modification in the next two weeks. Rockstar owner Take-Two has a history of taking down fan projects, most recently the YouTube channel belonging to the makers of the ‘GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition,’ which ports the world, cutscenes, and missions from 2002’s Vice City into 2008’s GTA 4. Take-Two may take an even dimmer view of Dark Space’s work, given it attempts to recreate the map from the upcoming GTA 6. Dark Space admitted to IGN that he was “always worried” about a reprisal from Take-Two, but pointed out some key differences between his work and others that have suffered setbacks, such as the GTA Vice City Nextgen Edition project. “This is a bit different from what I've been told by people who also make content like this for FiveM servers,” Dark Space said. “Vice City mod is a whole game remade in GTA 4. Not good for Rockstar. Also makes them look bad. Liberty City Preservation project ripped a whole game map from 4 to 5 eliminating the need for Rockstar to ever do that. “This is just me making my own fan-made map myself. All within GTA 5 itself. Any assets are from GTA 5 itself. A typical practice.” [Hidden Content] — Dark Space (@Dark_SpaceYT) January 27, 2025 Dark Space said the lack of GTA 6 news from Rockstar is fueling fan interest in projects such as his. Depending on how things go, he may expand the map to completion. One former Rockstar developer has defended the company’s actions here, saying both Take-Two and Rockstar are protecting their business interests. “Take2/R* are a commercial company,” former Rockstar Games technical director Obbe Vermeij tweeted. “They will take down mods that interfere with their business interests. “The VC NextGen Edition mod for GTA4 directly competes with the Definitive Edition. The Liberty City preservation project (GTA4 in GTA5 engine) would interfere with a possible GTA4 remaster. (No idea whether they’re working on that. I think they should.) “There’s no point getting angry about it. This is what companies are supposed to do. The best we can hope for is that they allow mods that don’t interfere with their business. Such as DCA3 (GTA3 for Dreamcast). Afaik they have recently been decent about letting these projects continue.” As for GTA 6 itself, the latest fan theory suggests an imminent announcement of a new trailer, the game's release date, and potentially more. While you wait to find out, IGN has much more on GTA 6 to check out, including an ex-Rockstar dev who says the studio probably won’t be able to decide whether GTA 6 is delayed until May 2025, the boss of Take-Two's coy response on whether GTA 6 is coming to PC, and the expert opinion on whether the PS5 Pro will run GTA 6 at 60 frames per second. 16. Players can now check out which named locations and landmarks will be making a comeback, as the Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 map has been revealed. Fortnite fans have wanted to return to the OG map ever since it was removed with the launch of Chapter 2. Over the past couple of years, Epic Games tried to find ways to let gamers scratch this itch. In early 2023, it allowed custom map creators to come up with their own version of Athena Island, also known as the Chapter 1 map. However, it wasn't as good as many would've hoped because many weren't exact replicas and the Battle Royale aspect of it didn't work all that well in Creative mode. View the full article
