Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the remake of the original Metal Gear Solid 3, will release on August 28, 2025, according to what appears to be a PlayStation Store leak. Konami’s remake of the PlayStation 2 stealth-action title has finally been updated from an obviously defunct 2024 release window, seemingly out of nowhere, with even a new trailer having leaked via the PlayStation App version of the store. An Ape Escape collaboration has also been teased, which was followed by a message that reads “And More” which seemingly alludes to further crossovers coming to the game. This first one looks like a reference to the original Metal Gear Solid 3, which featured a monkey minigame in which Snake would attempt to neutralize the animals with stun grenades and his “Monkey Shaker” gun. It's unclear why the release date and new trailer have appeared now, though if rumours of a Sony PlayStation State of Play showcase coming next week are true, it may well be that someone has simply pulled the trigger a little early. A fatal mistake when it comes to stealth action. Beyond a new first-person perspective, the game is otherwise shaping up to be an exact recreation of the original. "Metal Gear Solid Delta seems more like a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been," IGN said in our preview. "It’s an admittedly beautiful nostalgia trip, but almost faithful to a fault." A new and more detailed leak about Anaxa’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 has been shared and, while the character had already been rumored to be an excellent contribution to team comps, the new information may prove that the character will be a lot better than originally expected. Anaxa is one of the Chrysos Heirs in HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG. As of Version 3.0, little is actually known about them, as they have not even appeared as an NPC in the Amphoreus campaign like Tribbie and Mydei in Honkai: Star Rail, both of whom will become playable in Version 3.1. It's not the destination, they say, it's the pickled eggs we slurped along the way. In Keep Driving, a turn-based RPG of swishing scenery and smooshed roadkill, you are on a road trip in the early 2000s that will see you gulping coffee and stuffing cheap snacks into your mouth, all in an effort to get to the other side of the country in time for the big concert. It is a hypnotically involving game of picking up hitchhikers and battling tailgaters, a pixel art drivealong with tactile, chunky buttons and perfectly suited sound effects, as much fuelled by nostalgia as it is by gasoline. At first, I thought it was too loose and open-ended to elicit any deep feelings. But then I had to sell my guitar for half a tank of petrol, just to visit my dying grandmother. Dude, this is a game that goes places. Read more View the full article

Is Civ 7 on Game Pass? Civilization 7 marks the long-awaited return of Sid Meier's iconic 4X series, nearly a decade on from the last mainline game. Critically speaking, Civ 7 received some mixed responses for a series that is known for its particularly high standards. If you're not sure whether to commit to the full game yet, Game Pass is the natural next step. Our Civ 7 review sits somewhere in the middle. Our reviewer, Ed Smith, acknowledges that there are issues with the bloat of 4X games in general, but that Sid Meier remains the irreplaceable king of the genre, despite the hand-holding in Civilization 7. If you want to see it for yourself, this Civ 7 Game Pass news might not be what you're after. Read the rest of the story... Earlier this week, a plastic bag blowing in the wind made me question all I knew about the world, but in whatever way the opposite of life-affirming is. Less blowing, actually. More taunting me from my screen maddeningly like a middle finger salute from a man with no hands. It was a baffling piece of licensed merch from Disco Elysium studio ZA/UM and Atelier, who I assume are three hyenas in a board room sniffing each other's crotches for eternity. I couldn't tell you exactly where I first saw the bag - which has actually been on ***** for a few months now - but I soon realised why it had likely entered the zeitgeist again: an extensive set of a documentary podcasts by YouTube creator The 41st Precinct, the latest of which interviews writers Dora Klindžić and Argo Tuulik for more time than I have ever spent on anything. Here's a clip on Atelier and that ******** bag. Read more View the full article

Obsidian Entertainment's upcoming role-playing game Avowed can hit 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X. Though she offered no further insight, game director Carrie Patel told MinnMax that "you can get up to [60fps]" on Microsoft's more powerful console, though the Xbox Series S version will be limited to the 30fps as previously confirmed. It's still unclear if Avowed will include a performance mode and graphics mode as has become standard, the former of which generally means 60fps with lower visuals while the latter generally means 30fps with improved visuals, or if the default setting hits 60fps on Xbox Series X naturally. Avowed arrives February 13 for those willing to spend at least $89.99, though fans only willing to spend $69.99 are forced by Microsoft to wait until February 18. This is a recent trend deployed by publishers but has already been scrapped by the likes of Ubisoft. Set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity, Avowed is a first person fantasy RPG with a grand emphasis on player choice. The story weaves through tales of war, mystery, and intrigue, as players navigate the land and forge friendships or rivalries with those around them. It earned praise in IGN's Final Preview of the game, in which we praised its nuanced conversations, player freedom, and said "Avowed is just a lot of fun." Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelance reporter. When the Fortnite Chapter Six, season two theme first leaked, there was a brief spark of excitement, but before long, some fans realized that a heist season seemed familiar. Will this new season be a fresh take on the classic theme, or will it be the same bank job on a different day? Depending on who you ask, there have been between three and five similar themes throughout Fortnite history. While some fans worry the theme will be repetitive and make for potentially boring gameplay, others are more positive. One user on r/FortNiteBR explains, “It’s the best theme they’ve done, considering both seasons with that theme were very successful.” If the entire season has vaults, boss NPCs, and keycards like a few other seasons, it could get boring, so hopefully, Epic Games switches it up a bit and adds some exciting gameplay we haven’t seen before. True to the word of Capcom’s ******* social media marketing, Monster Hunter Wilds has a new, generally less extravagant set of PC system requirements ahead of its February 28th launch. There’s also a standalone benchmark tool that you can download from the game’s Steam page, so you can see for yourself how the beast-biffing RPG will run on your hardware. In theory, these are great developments. Lower requirements mean a more widely accessible game, and the benchmark tool – which covers a good six minutes of combined cinematics and simulated free roaming – brings reassurance and accountability to this otherwise hype-reliant prerelease *******. Sadly, there are two problems. One, the benchmark confirms outright that Monster Hunter Wilds will run like stagnant goulash on low-end PCs, and two, it does so to the extent that I’m not sure that the revised minimum specs are even reliable. Between Stellaris, Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings, Cities Skylines, and Hearts of Iron, Paradox either develops or publishes some of the biggest strategy games on PC. But it's taken some hits lately. Cities Skylines 2 has so far failed to replicate the success of the original, Victoria 3 has faced criticism, ambitious 4X Millennia remains overlooked and underappreciated, and would-be Sims rival Life By You was delayed and then canceled - speaking to PCGamesN recently, Paradox admitted that 2023 and 2024 were "rough." But a turnaround could be on the way. One of the best-loved strategy hits on Steam, the team behind much of the Tropico series is now officially part of Paradox's portfolio.
