  2. Civilization 7 doesn't fully launch until next Tuesday, February 11, but it's playable now for people who sprung for the Founders Edition, and so far the response isn't what Firaxis or 2K Games had to be hoping for. There's a range of complaints, as there always is, but most widespread is criticism of the UI, which has grown to the point that developers have now said they're "looking into" it... 3. As 2025 seems adamant to follow in the previous year’s footsteps, yet another studio has been hit with significant layoffs and downsizing. This time around it’s Hi-Rez Studios, the developer behind the popular third-person MOBA, Smite 2, who has cut dozens of jobs for the second time in six months. According to a Feb. 6 report from Game Developer, Hi-Rez Studios seems to have downsized its SMITE 2 team, cutting “nearly 30 employees” with potentially more having lost their jobs. Hi-Rez Studios also appears to have approached the matter discretely, with the affected employees themselves using social media posts to let everyone know that they have, indeed, lost their job at Hi-Rez. Many have responded to a Feb. 6 Reddit thread compiling all of the social media posts from former Hi-Rez Studios employees, most of whom are now actively looking for new ventures. 4. Before playing Skald: Against the ****** Priory, I liked the idea of this throwback roleplaying game, but wasn't sure it was for me. I love old-school RPGs, but pre-1997 is too old-school for me, and Skald's primary source of visual inspiration is an era of DOS and Commodore RPGs I have respect, but not much affection for. Skald's gorgeous VGA-inspired pixel art scared me off as much as it enticed me... Read more.View the full article

  15. While I can’t deny the love I have for Marvel Rivals, I don’t remember the last time I’ve raged this much—and been this exhausted—in a video game. Don’t relate? Well, you definitely aren’t a Strategist main then. The number of times I’ve been called out for not being present exactly where my team’s Duelists are loitering and saving them is… astonishing. Which makes me wonder, do Duelist mains even know how the Strategist role works in Marvel Rivals? View the full article
  16. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 doesn't offer many ways to heal Henry once he's taken some damage. You can rest or sleep in a bed to regain health, but you aren't always near a town or haystack to sleep off your wounds. You need to rely on the Marigold Decoction potion. The Marigold Decoction potion is the primary way to restore Henry's health. While you can eat some food or drink water to gain a little bit back, you also run the risk of getting the overeating debuff, which puts you in a different kind of pickle. Marigold Decoctions have no downside, healing Henry for a percentage of his health over time. Unfortunately, Marigold Decoctions are incredibly difficult to get hold of, so how do you consistently add them to your inventory in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? Finding Marigold Decoction Potions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 At the start of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you won't have access to many, if any Marigold Decoctions. Moreover, your first one likely won't even be the full potion, as the early-game drops are often tagged with the "Weak" description. These are less effective than the normal type, but they still get the job done if you're in a pinch and need some healing. Getting Weak Marigold Decoctions Finding a Weak Marigold Decoction. Screenshot by Destructoid To obtain some Weak Marigold Decoctions, your best bet is to search dead bodies, particularly those of bandits or soldiers, and check in with town traders. I found a few Weak Marigold Decoctions during "The Jaunt" side quest, which comes from trying to get invited to the wedding via Radovan the Blacksmith. I was able to loot bandits' bodies and search a few chests to get some of the potion along the way. However, buying them from traders is the more reliable way to get both Weak and normal Marigold Decoctions. Specifically, you want to look for regular traders, indicated by the hand and gold icon on your map. Traders are usually located in their own building within every town and city. The earliest trader you can visit is in Troskowitz, as there's one in a building just before the edge of town. Weak Marigold Decoctions are all traders sell at the start of the game, but as you progress and visit more locations, you'll start to see the normal variation pop up. The weak version doesn't cost too much groschen, so you should be able to afford it regardless of your situation. Regular and Strong Marigold Decoctions As for the more advanced Marigold Decoctions, you can acquire them in the same ways as the weak version. However, you'll have to complete more of the story in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 before you start seeing them around. Buying a Strong Marigold Decoction. Screenshot by Destructoid Also, there's a regular and Strong version of the Marigold Decoctions. Weirdly enough, you'll be able to acquire the Strong version more easily than the regular potion. The Strong Marigold Decoction is readily available at the Apothecary Emerich's shop in Troskowtiz. This shop is located right next door to the Carpenter. Emerich sells Strong Marigold Decoctions for 43 groschen each, and he usually stocks around three of them every day. Other apothecaries around the map will also sell Marigold Decoctions, so you don't solely have to visit Emerich for your healing needs. If you don't want to purchase the potion, you can also purchase the recipe for the standard Marigold Decoction at Emerich's shop. This costs 150 groschen but enables you to brew the potion whenever you want at an alchemy bench. There are two alchemy benches nearby in Troskowitz, so visit them to start brewing the potion. Of course, you'll need the recipe for Marigold Decoctions, which is: Water base 1x Nettle 2x Marigold The recipe for Marigold Decoction at an alchemy bench. Screenshot by Destructoid The exact recipe can be found by reading the recipe for the Marigold Decoction in your inventory (books section) after purchasing it from Emerich. This tells you exactly how to do the recipe. Of course, you'll still need the supplies, and Nettle and Marigold can be hard to come by in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Later in the game, you can also purchase the recipe for the Strong Marigold Decoction, but you won't need that until Henry faces much stronger enemies. For most of your needs, buying Strong Marigold Decoctions, finding Weak or normal ones on enemies, and brewing your own potions are the best ways to ensure Henry always stays healed in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. 17. MultiVersus, the ill-fated crossover fighter, is shutting down after its fifth major update. It is, of course, sad news for fans, especially those who invested a significant amount of time and money on unlocking its relatively large roster of characters. 20. While Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4 underwhelmed me with predominately running simulator gameplay, its lore was captivating, fitting for an indie horror series that has developed a strong name for itself for its complex, ever-changing story that sparks theories and debate for its content alone. Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4 had the most characters, lore, and greatest development in the series yet, and this installment alone featured multiple revelations that had you gasping for air. So much information was packed into the notes and VHS tapes, and more in its rollercoaster of an ending. Mob knew exactly what they were doing by revealing Poppy’s true identity and leaving us with a Huggy Wuggy cliffhanger. We can’t go into every chapter confused about the last, so confirming theories not only helps keep playersr engaged, but it also creates new mysteries for fans to lose sleep over.
