Most people agreed that last year's Alien: Romulus was a return to form for the long-running sci-fi horror franchise, nightmare CG Ian Holm aside. Now, with a follow-up practically confirmed after its box office success, director and co-writer Fede Álvarez is discussing his vision for more stories set in that universe, and whether they could lead to a new Alien vs. Predator event movie. Normally when you're playing an FPS game, the choice to pull the trigger and initiate combat isn't a choice at all. Half-Life. Doom Eternal. You're waiting for the chance to use your guns - it's all about wading into the crossfire. Dagger Directive is completely different. Visually, it's reminiscent of shooters from the early '00s or even the '90s. Mechanically, its inspirations are similarly vintage, the elder Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games, and milsim series including Arma and Operation Flashpoint. But Dagger Directive has more to offer than mere homage. One of the most exciting new FPS games, you can try it now. Read the rest of the story... Dungeons and Dragons is all about decision-making. Where will your party go next? Who will you fight? How will you get out of this unwinnable situation? Against all odds, at some point, the dice will roll in your favor, and it's exhilarating. This is exactly what Baldur's Gate 3 nails, and new DnD-inspired adventure Solasta 2 is coming up right behind it. With a difference in focus, Tactical Adventures' sequel is one for all of us tabletop fans, and my time with the preview proves it. Read the rest of the story... What's the longest you've ever waited for a game? The problem with videogames is that they pretty much always take much longer than you'd expect, and as budgets have increased and as time has gone on, that's only gotten truer and truer. Skyrim came out way back in 2011, but almost 14 years later there's still no Elder Scrolls 6, and it'll be a decade since Fallout 4 came out later this year, too. But a studio like Bethesda is guaranteed to release those follow-ups - when you're waiting almost ten years for a game like Lost Soul Aside, an original, debut IP which was first announced in 2016, things are a bit more uncertain. Lost Soul Aside has a release date now, though, but there's bad news for PC players. Read the rest of the story... Gamers have a new route to getting hold of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 or RTX 5080, thanks to the GPU maker itself. In an effort to beat scalpers, Nvidia has just relaunched its Verified Priority Access program for active Nvidia account holders, inviting users to buy a new graphics card from the company directly. However, only a "limited" number will be able to buy a new RTX 50-series card this way, with the scheme also limited to just one country. Nvidia launched a similar program back during the early days of the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080, when the launch of those GPUs was also affected by stock availability issues. While the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are now the best graphics cards you can buy, not enough gamers have been able to get their hands on one, with extremely limited stock levels since launch day. I don’t know anything about this game, so this needs to be reworded for brevity. Trailmakers: Pioneers redefines the Trailmakers experience with a new campaign mode, survival gameplay, and an intuitive block crafting system. Players scavenge for build parts, create custom land, sea, or air vehicles, and defend against threats in one of four […] Source View the full article
Human Torch will debut in Marvel Rivals on Feb. 21 alongside his Fantastic Four buddy, The Thing. Johnny will have a unique ultimate team-up with Storm, but players came up with another (better) team-up idea for the X-Men member. Johnny’s ultimate will turn his fireballs into small tornadoes that will inflict AoE damage around a specified area for a short time. If Storm uses her ultimate simultaneously, she can enter those tornadoes and turn her hurricane into a Firestorm. But players have a better idea: Sharknado. View the full article

Larian can afford to make something other than a sequel to Baldur's Gate 3 for its next game. Tactical Adventures, which is a substantially smaller studio responsible for a game it's probably sick of seeing called "the other D&D 5E CRPG", has less freedom to subvert expectations. And so 2021's Solasta: Crown of the Magister is being followed by Solasta 2, due in early access later this year, and with a demo launching as part of Steam Next Fest... Releasing on February 4, 2025, this sequel to the original, historical RPG attempts to build on Henry's legacy in every conceivable way. That includes the addition of several new features, many of which will only be made available as DLC or updates after Kingdom Come 2's launch. These updats will introduce an in-game barber, a hardcore mode, and several new quests. View the full article
Although half-way through Season 1, NetEase is making some big changes to Marvel Rivals, adding the rest of The Fantastic Four, with The Human Torch and The Thing joining the roster, while giving players a vampiric version of Central Park. This seems like it will be the formula for the title moving forward, with the beginning and mid-point of each season being where NetEase will make changes to the game. This coincides with their intention of adding a hero every forty-five days, with a season (and its corresponding Battle Pass) lasting 90 days. View the full article
The Killing Floor franchise celebrates its 16th birthday in 2025 and the third installment of the series. Fans who can’t contain their excitement and are desperate to try the game early can sign up for the closed beta. Closed betas have become a common occurrence in modern gaming, favoring both players and the developer. Fans can try out the early version and see if they like it, while the creators can use feedback to polish the final product.
