  1. Sandworm-bothering MMO Dune: Awakening will release on 20th May, develoeprs Funcom have announced, and you can start tailoring your very own Arrakish (I swear it's a canonical term) adventurer by means of the just-released character creator. Any desert delver you produce with said creator can be imported to the full game at launch. Inspired by Monster Hunter's Hunting *****, I've recently gotten into the habit of making characters who look like Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson. I'm not sure Dune: Awakening has sufficiently puckish hair to support this - not many big frizzy gingers in the Dune universe, in my experience. But I'm willing to give it a shot, for science. Anyway, here's a trailer. Read more View the full article

  3. The Human Torch has not even been officially released for Marvel Rivals yet, but some players are already complaining that the character is too overpowered. Balance is always a touchy subject in any competitive live service game, and some gamers believe that the Human Torch has one ability that makes him stand out too much when compared to other Marvel Rivalscharacters. 4. Chirpy cockney urchin Strauss Zelnick recently hailed the "increasing" importance of the PC market in the lead up to Grand Theft Auto 6's release this autumn. Could it mean we're getting the open world crimeathon the same time as consoles? Buddy, we don't even get updates the same time as consoles. Things might be speeding up on that front at least, based on an email Colin Rockstar sent us earlier. On March 4th, they're giving us some nice gubbins for GTA 5 that they previously saw fit to exclusively roll out on machines that don't even have the original Minesweeper. The upgrade is free "with a one-time Character Migration flow to bring over your Story Mode and Online progress", and offers new vehicles and vehicle performance upgrades, animal encounters, new graphics options, and faster loading time. There's also a "and much more" in there but Colin loves saying that. You can find the full details on Rockstar's website here. Read more View the full article
  5. Leaks about the new saurian type in Genshin Impact 5.5, called Tatankasaur, have finally emerged, showcasing how they will work in the game and hinting at what may be a great gameplay mechanic hidden among a fairly unimpressive set of skills. So far, the action RPG by HoYoverse has presented five different saurian types, each related to one of the five tribes from Natlan that have been introduced until now. At first, three saurian types were added with Version 5.0 (Teptlisaur, Koholasaur, and Yumkasaur), followed by two new saurian types in Genshin Impact 5.2 (Qucusaur and Iktomisaur). 9. How do you open Overwatch 2 loot boxes? Loot boxes were an Overwatch 1 staple, so it's no surprise that fans were a little disappointed when the random reward system was removed from the sequel. Over two years later, OW2 loot boxes have returned with the launch of Season 15. While additional loot boxes are available from the paid Overwatch 2 battle pass, plenty of free boxes are available every week, so you don't need to spend money on the free PC game. Whether you're a new player to the FPS game or a returning veteran in need of a refresher, we've got all the details on OW2 loot boxes, how to get them, and how to open them. 10. A new leak suggests that the new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D gaming CPUs will launch next month. If the rumor is true, these new 12 and 16-core Zen 5 chips will be available to purchase in just under three weeks time, bringing even more processors with AMD's powerful 3D V-Cache technology into the high-end CPU market. It's the 3D V-Cache technology, more than any other enhancement, that has allowed AMD to dominate with the best gaming CPUs in recent years. Contenders such as the 7800X3D and 9800X3D have consistently beaten the competition so far, with Intel's latest Core Ultra lineup failing to impress gamers, as our Intel Core Ultra 265K review shows. 11. I get the feeling Rockstar just enjoys teasing PC players. GTA 5? A nearly two-year wait between its original 360/PS3 launch and it hitting our desktops. Red Dead Redemption 2? One year. Red Dead 1? 14 years. GTA 6? Unknown. Potentially infinite... Read more.View the full article
  12. Whatever comes out of Brendan Greene’s sprawling 10-year trilogy of projects at PlayerUnknown Productions, it won’t be a successor to Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, popularly known hereabouts as Plunkbat - the grandfather of battle royales, which Greene developed as creative director at Bluehole, a subsidiary of Krafton. 13. The Scuf Valor Pro is an Xbox controller and PC controller that is stuffed with masses of extra features and includes premium upgrades such as using Hall Effect sticks and switchable quick-press triggers. Its big compromise, though, is that it's wired-only. However, this is reflected in a price that's far lower than a controller of this quality would be with a wireless connection. With most premium options on our best PC controller guide tending to use a wireless connection, and feeling all the more convenient for it, Scuf's new controller is inherently going to have more limited appeal. However, if you want high-end build and features but without spending too crazy an amount of money, this is a very tempting option. Read the rest of the story... 16. League of Legends Clash was meant to be the ultimate replacement for ranked fives. With flex ****** essentially in the gutter and far worse off than the previous iteration, Clash was introduced as a fun way to play competitive games with your friends in a tournament-style mode to give you the feel of what it is like to be a professional player. Sadly, the mode has not lived up to the hype, and players are furious with its gradual decline. League players expressed their anger at the decline of Clash in a recent thread on Reddit, noting the steady decline the mode has seen over the years, going from weekly tournaments to only three traditional tournaments throughout the year. “We went from biweekly Clash schedule to 3 proper Clash tournaments in a year,” one player said. 19. Legendary Entertainment's live-action Street Fighter movie recently lined up a premiere date, and now it has a director in place. And hey, if The Eric Andre Show's Kitao Sakurai can't entertain us with his spin on Capcom's classic fighter, who can? Sakurai—known for writing, directing, and producing The Eric Andre Show, as well as directing episodes of Twisted Metal—has been tapped to direct (via The Hollywood Reporter). Legendary is co-producing along with Capcom, and Sony previously set its premiere for March 20, 2026. As for what aspects of the Street Fighter series the movie aims to tackle, those details have yet to be divulged. Will Sakurai get a chance to cover more recent hits like Street Fighter 6, or will this be the ultimate redemption arc for a well-aged Guile by way of Jean-Claude Van Damme? Takin' it to the streets Image via Amazon Prime Video The new Street Fighter movie was confirmed back in April 2023. At the time, twin *********** filmmaker duo Danny and Michael Philippou (Talk to Me) were in talks to direct. Of course, one would be remiss not to mention the original 1994 live-action Street Fighter as much as possible in any related article. While historically maligned as a failure, the endlessly entertaining work of art starred the aforementioned Van Damme as Guile opposite Raul Julia in a powerful turn as M. Bison. Don't listen to anyone who says writer and director Steven E. de Souza's feature is anything other than a classic example of pure game-inspired camp. There was also 2009's fair to middlin' Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, which starred Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li and Chris Klein as Charlie Nash. The real Capcom film to beat, however, is 1994's Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, a Gisaburo Sugii-directed and Group TAC-animated banger that hit all the right notes. So go ahead, Sakurai, do your best and your worst! The post The Eric Andre Show’s Kitao Sakurai to direct new Street Fighter movie appeared first on Destructoid. View the full article
