What are the Monster Hunter Wilds quests? There are a fair few ways to hunt monsters in Capcom's RPG juggernaut. You can find the monster you want to slay out in the wild, hunt it down during an optional quest, or stumble upon it during a main story mission. As such, keeping track of all these methods can be rather difficult, and if you're a completionist, you'll want to know that you've done everything the game has to offer. Monster Hunter Wilds offers main story chapters with different sub-chapters within them, and within those are assignments to hunt certain monsters that in turn become optional quests later on. Yes, that's almost as confusing as remembering the names of all the Monster Hunter Wilds monsters or deciding which Monster Hunter Wilds weapon to main. Thankfully, we've created a complete list of every main mission, side quest, and assignment so you can keep on top of your to-do list. Read the rest of the story... Many characters have requests for you in between tracking down large creatures in Monster Hunter Wilds. When speaking with Dareel shortly after you defeat the Doshaguma Alpha, he wants you to track down a smaller creature: a Tracktail Lizard. The Tracktail Lizard is a type of endemic life, the smaller creatures you can find throughout the massive habitats you’re exploring. They’re not as large of a threat as the aggressive creatures you’re used to accepting quests for the Guild, but these creatures serve an important purpose that you can take advantage of, and Dareel wants to show you how important they are by tracking and capturing one for him. The Grand Escuniet is one of the many Aquatic Endemic Creatures you’ll need to find as part of a long list of fishing side quests in Monster Hunter Wilds to unlock various baits and increase your HR level. It’s a rare variant of the Escuntie line and can be incredibly frustrating to come across. The Grand Escunite can only be found in one area, but actually finding it can take a lot of time. Be prepared to go back and forth between areas and reload biomes in hopes the glowing creature makes a sudden appearance in the murky depths. View the full article
The two survey researchers are in a race in Monster Hunter Wilds to see who can collect all the information of their given regions before the other. Dareel keys you into this race, and his next assignment has you tracking down an Ember Rufflizard. The Ember Rufflizard is a creature wandering through the Oilwell Basin, a hotter location than the Scarlet Forest or the Windward Plains. The Rufflizard is right at home, but tracking it down can take time to complete if you don’t know where to look. When you do, sneaking up on it before it escapes you is crucial, as these are elusive creatures. Here’s what you need to know about how to catch an Ember Rufflizard in Monster Hunter Wilds for Dareel. View the full article
Various side quests in Monster Hunter Wilds will have you searching for endemic life that you’ll need to capture to bring back to a group of researchers in base camps, with a Dapperwing one of the earlier missions you’ll encounter. Like with the other endemic creature side quests, though, the game doesn’t tell you where you can find each creature, and if you skipped the quest dialogue at the start, you’ll have missed entirely any hint to point you in the right direction, which could send you off on a wild goose chase. Kanya has another request for you in Monster Hunter Wilds, and this time, she wants you to track down an elusive Goldenfish. This tricky capture only appears in certain areas, and finding it won’t be easy, especially as it prefers to swim in shady spots. Knowing the exact location to find the Goldenfish can be challenging. Kanya offers a few hints on where it might linger, but no exact details on how to track it down. To make things that much more difficult, finding the Goldenfish’s preferred waters is one thing, and trying to catch it with your fishing rod is another. But there are a few techniques you can use to increase your chances of catching this picky eater. Here’s what you need to know about how to catch a Goldenfish in Monster Hunter Wilds. The Gravid Bowfin is one of the rarer variants of the Bowfin in Monster Hunter Wilds, and you’ll need to find it to complete a series of fishing sidequests in the Forest. While it might feel easy to find at first if you have been fishing long enough, the Gravid Bowfin is increasingly rare. You could be looking around for hours if you don’t choose where to search wisely. While it can appear in every area, we have found that only certain regions and methods have a good chance of capturing one. View the full article
One of the final Endemic Life side quests you come across in Monster Hunter Wilds might be one of the most annoying we have come across so far, with the game asking you to search for an illusive Gillopod, a rare variant of the Pillopod, which is an already hard to find creature considering its small size and camouflage abilities. We spent several hours going back and forth in multiple areas trying to find one, unaware that it was hiding under our noses the entire time. It’s arguably the hardest to find as it doesn’t move or float like other Endemic Life, so you can run around for ages and not know what it is or looks like until your fellow Hunters point it out to you. Samin needs your assistance in tracking down a Rime Beetle that’s been wandering around in Monster Hunter Wilds. He wants you to track down this beetle and bring it back for research purposes, but finding it won’t be easy. Like many smaller creatures, finding a Rime Beetle takes patience. It won’t appear on the larger map, and when you locate it, it’s crucial not to scare it away. There’s always a good chance it could crawl away and you to track it down again. Knowing its patterns is helpful to help mark this research side quest off your ever-growing checklist. Here’s what you need to know about how to capture a Rime Beetle in Monster Hunter Wilds. Monster Fluids are one of the many different resources you can find in Monster Hunter Wilds that you can use when crafting various weapons and armor, but despite its simple name, finding one can be pretty challenging for both new and seasoned hunters alike. One of the few endemic life achievements in Monster Hunter Wilds has you looking for an elusive squid with no information on where it is or what it looks like. It’s a challenging task, not only because the creature is tough to find, but it also requires luck in the weather conditions. While you can find the giant squid early on, catching it might not be possible until you reach High Rank and go through several side quests to unlock high-tier fishing gear. View the full article
Monster Hunter Wilds has three endemic-themed achievements that’ll have you scouring the world trying to find these hidden rare creatures. One of them, a specific creature that bears an ancient wyvern coin, is by far the hardest to find. This creature can spawn in any of the biomes, but we’ve found two particular places where we had the most luck when trying to find it. Both locations are easy to get to, though you can also find it in places like Basin, Plains, and other locales if you know where to look. This creature appears to have one major spawn location per map. View the full article
One of Monster Hunter Wild’s hidden achievements will have you searching for an unknown creature in the desert that “shines like a shooting star.” Outside of that description, though, Capcom doesn’t do much to tell you where to find it or what it looks like. Hunters of previous games won’t be surprised by these hidden endemic life tasks. Capcom has been doing them since World years back, tasking the community to work together to find these creatures when out questing. Luckily, we were able to find one of them by chance, so we can take you through what you need to do to find one yourself. View the full article

Character customization in any kind of loot-based RPG is paramount. It may even be more important than the gear you have equipped. In Monster Hunter Wilds, there’s no point in hunting anything if you look like a mess while doing it. Capcom’s long-running franchise is all about getting the best weapons and gear by crafting them from pieces of monsters, and this means combining different sets to make for some very ugly-looking characters. You shouldn’t exercise on an empty stomach. You also shouldn’t hunt giant, horrific monsters without eating, either. Meals have always been important in Monster Hunter, and the same goes for Monster Hunter Wilds. Even gamers who haven’t played the Monster Hunter series know of the legend of the cooking cutscenes from the franchise, featuring little kitty chefs cooking up incredible-looking dishes for you to enjoy before you head out to slaughter something higher on the food chain. Ancient Wyvern Coins regularly show up as you explore Monster Hunter Wilds. You might receive them as a reward for completing quests or catching them from small monsters you find scrabbling around on the floor. What you can do with them, though, is not thoroughly explained. You’ll want to hold onto these items because they become useful later on, and you have to unlock the person who uses them. They won’t be available to directly put onto your equipment or weapons, but they could provide you with useful materials that you can use in other ways to enhance your time hunting the more dangerous monsters. Cooking meals in Disney Dreamlight Valley is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. All you do is select ingredients, throw them in, and you get a whole meal out of it. However, cooking multiple meals can get tiresome because you need to do them individually. This was somewhat rectified in the Rift in Time DLC with the addition of the Ancient Cooker, but this isn’t useful if you don’t own the DLC or don’t have time to hoard up on the Mist needed to use it. Thankfully, there’s now another option, thanks to the Tales of Agrabah update. As of February 26, all players will gain access to something called a Slow Cooker that can be used for any of the hundreds of recipes currently included in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Here’s how to unlock, craft, and use this god-tier piece of equipment. How to unlock the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid Unlocking the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley is actually remarkably easy, and it seems that everyone will have access to the unlock quest as long as they’ve brought Tiana to the Village. Once she’s in the Village, you should be able to pick up a quest with her called “Slow and Steady.” This is the quest that will eventually unlock the Slow Cooker in all of its glory, but you’ll need to craft the appliance first. How to craft the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid The Slow Cooker is an absolute godsend, but that does mean that there’s a fairly hefty amount of resources needed to craft it: 6 Iron IngotsCrafted using 5 Iron Ore and 1 Coal Ore 2 Tinkering PartsCrafted using 2 Iron Ingots Each craft will result in 3 Tinkering Parts 20 HardwoodForaged from the ground in Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, and Frosted Heights 20 can be purchased from Kristoff’s Stall as part of his rotating stock Dropped when removing Big Tree Stumps 2,500 DreamlightObtained by completing Dreamlight Duties Crafted using 10 Dream Shards per 250 Dreamlight Once you’ve got all of these resources, you can head to any Crafting Station and find the Slow Cooker under the “Functional Items” tab. Once you’ve crafted your Slow Cooker, you can then place it anywhere in the Valley. How to use the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley Screenshot by Destructoid Using the Slow Cooker is basically identical to using any other Cooking Station in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but you’ll need to make sure you have enough ingredients to make multiple of whatever dish you plan to make. After interacting with the Slow Cooker, the following menu will pop up: Screenshot by Destructoid Select “Select Ingredients”, and then you can search through the recipes using the new search tool. When you’ve selected a recipe, throw in all of the ingredients and then select “Start Cooking” to be taken back to the original menu. Now, select “Cook” on the right-hand side and choose how many of the dish you want to make. Like the Ancient Cooker, you’ll need to spend some resources per dish, but in this case, its Dreamlight. It doesn’t matter whether you’re cooking a 1-star or a 5-star recipe, each dish costs 25 Dreamlight to make. Once you’re happy, confirm your choice, and your chosen meals will be cooked in the background. Each recipe takes some time, so you’ll need to leave the Slow Cooker working its magic while you go off and do other things. The process stops once you leave the game, and will resume again when you log back in. The post How to get the Slow Cooker in Disney Dreamlight Valley appeared first on Destructoid.
