  7. Brant is the newest five-star Resonator added to Wuthering Waves, and he offers a unique gameplay style not yet seen in the game. If you're pulling or are planning to pull Brant, here's a guide to get you started. Best Brantbuild in Wuthering Waves Brant is a Fusion Sub-DPS character and a Sword user in Wuthering Waves. Unique to his gameplay style, Brant focuses heavily on Mid-Air attacks, allowing him to avoid much of what an enemy is doing due to being constantly airborne. He also has supporting capabilities, able to heal and shield teammates while dishing out his damage. Image by Destructoid Though he is considered a Sub-DPS, Brant has access to some of the highest personal damage of any other Sub-DPS. It is so high that a team built around Brant allows him to succeed as even a Main DPS fill-in. Brant's ability to fill many roles makes him an extraordinary third pick on most teams in Wuthering Waves. With only slots available on any given team, his multi-role versatility allows for you to consolidate roles for other teammates, opening up new team possibilities with Brant's availability. Brant's game plan Brant's main goal is to fill up his Forte Meter as quickly as possible and deliver his powerful enhanced Resonance Skill, Returned from Ashes. This enables Brant to heal, shield, and dish out damage, all with the same mechanic. This enhanced Skill is reached by filling up his Forte. Forte Circuit Image by Destructoid Brant's Forte is Ocean Odyssey, which allows him to gain a unique Forte resource called Bravo. He can hold a total of 100 Bravo at any given time, which plays into the rest of his Forte's mechanics. Every time Brant reaches a 25 Bravo breakpoint, he applies healing to his entire party. Bravo is gained in a few different ways you'll want to make note of: From Basic AttacksFrom Intro SkillWhen using Resonance Skill Of these methods, the most viable way of gaining Bravo is through using Basic Attacks on enemies that connect. Brant is a Basic ATK scaling character, so this works out for his playstyle. Upon reaching 100 Bravo, Brant can use Returned from Ashes, which sees Brant sending a massive anchor crashing from the air to the ground, dealing massive damage to all that are hit by it. While damage is this mechanic's most important aspect, Returned from Ashes shields all of Brant's allies when cast. Brant's final portion of his Forte another unique mechanic called Theatrical Moment. This allows Brant to gain ATK based on his Energy Regen stat. For every 1% of Energy Regen over 150%, Brant will gain an additional 12 ATK, up to a maximum of 1560. Resonance Skill Image by Destructoid Due to the mechanics of Brant's Forte, he has access to two different Resonance Skills. The first is called Anchors Aweigh!, which launches him into the air with a backflip. It does minor damage and is generally not very useful. Brant can follow this Skill up by pressing the Skill button a second time to launch a special Plunging attack. If it hits, he can press Normal ATK to launch himself back into the air. The second is one I've mentioned earlier. When Brant reaches 100 Bravo, his Anchors Aweigh! is replaced with Returned from Ashes, the most powerful ability in his arsenal. It does enormous damage and fills Brant's Concerto by half. It should be used as soon as possible if DPS is your concern with Brant. Resonance Liberation Screenshot by Destructoid Brant's Liberation is called To the Horizon, and it plays a significant role in how you make use of Brant's Forte. When used, Brant will call upon an anchor to ****** into the area, dealing decent damage and applying two unique but reminsant mechanics to him as buffs: Aflame and "My" Moment. Aflame improves the rate at which Brant is able to gain Bravo, doubling its efficiency. You should always strive to have this active as much as possible, which is why Brant wants so much Energy Regen in the first place. "My" Moment replaces Brant's Forte mechanic Theatrical Moment, rewarding Energy Regen stacking with much more ATK per 1%, as before. With "My" Moment active, the conversion becomes for every 1% Energy Regen over 150%, gain 20 ATK up to 2600. As you can see, you need to make active use of Brant's Resonance Liberation for him to be viable for DPS. Outro Buff As Brant is a Sub-DPS by default, he comes with a powerful Outro buff that shouldn't be ignored for the rest of his kit. Brant's Outro Skill is called The Course is Set! and it buffs the incoming Resonator's Fusion DMG by 20% while simultaneously buffing the incoming Resonator's Skill DMG by 25%. Both effects last for 14 seconds or until the affected Resonator is switched out. Best Echoes for Brant in Wuthering Waves Image by Destructoid Because Brant requires such a significant amount of Energy Regen to function, he only has one Echo set option you should use. However, I will offer you a second option if the Energy Regen thresholds he needs cannot be met. 4-p Tidebreaker's Courage - This set provides Brant with an extra 10% Energy Regen and 15% ATK. If Brant has at least 250% total Energy Regen, he also gains a massive 30% Attribute DMG. This set is by far his best, only if you can reach 250% Energy Regen. Without it, you should use the second option on this list.4-Piece Molten Rift - Provides Brant with unconditional Fusion damage buffs, which can all be activated with a single use of his Skill. This set is the next best option if you cannot get 250% Regen to activate Tidebreaker's Courage.Best weapons for Brant in Wuthering Waves Image by Destructoid Brant's incredibly steep Energy Regen requirements offer him only two real options you can consider, with one being several steps down from the other. Unflickering Valor - Brant's signature weapon, Unflickering Valor, gives him several powerful DPS buffs to most of his kit, but most importantly, its exceptionally high Energy Regen substat makes reaching Energy Regen requirements infinitely easier. This is, by far, his best option.Overtune - Brant's only four-star option, Overtune is the only weapon outside of his Signature that he has to help him reach his Energy Regen requirements. Without using either one of the two weapons, Brant will struggle massively to reach Energy Regen breakpoints. So, with that in mind, if you cannot get one of these weapons, I strongly urge you to reconsider pulling Brant, as he is heavily reliant on Energy Regen to function. Best team compositions for Brant in Wuthering Waves Image by Destructoid Brant's Outro buff supports buffing Fusion and Skill damage, so characters that match one or both of those make solid teammates for him. Brant, Changli, Verina - This is Brant's strongest team composition, and it rewards and players a Dual DPS team. You'll be consistently swapping to and from Brant and Changli, performing their gameplans in unison for maximum effect. Verina is on the team to apply her massive ATK% buff and offer healing as necessary. Verina is interchangeable with Shorekeeper, depending on stat spread.Brant, Encore, Shorekeeper - This team functions similarly to the abovementioned, only using Encore instead of Changli. As Encore wants a bit more field time, you'll be doing less quickswapping and more hypercarrying using Encore as the team's main DPS. Shorekeeper is interchangeable with Verina.Brant, Sanhau, Verina - This team uses Brant as the hypercarry on his team, utilizing Sanhau's Basic ATK% Outro buff and lightning-fast Concerto to quickly generate Brant's Forte. As with before, Verina is interchangeable with Shorekeeper.Best Sequences of Brant in Wuthering Waves Brant is a largely complete character at S0. However, his Sequences grant him significantly increased power to his moment-to-moment gameplan. His best stopping point is, without a doubt, S3, and if you're interested in learning what all of his Sequences do, then here's a summary of each one and their values. Image by Destructoid By Currents and Winds (S1) - This Sequence makes Brant's Returned from Ashes apply a stagnation field when it is being cast, giving the ability potent CC (Crowd Control). Additionally, Brant gains up to 60% DMG when performing his Intro Skill or any attacks with flips associated with it. Overall, this is a strong Sequence that gives Brant additional utility and a lot of extra damage. For Smiles and Cheers (S2) - When Brant casts Returned from Ashes or does a mid-air attack, he gains a free 30% Crit Rate. This is already incredible, and I highly recommend you use a CRIT DMG 4-cost Echo if you obtain this Sequence. Additionally, Brant's Outro Skill causes the incoming Resonator to deal 440% of Brant's ATK as Basic Attack damage whenever they use their Resonance Skill. This can happen up to twice. This is a very strong Sequence, and you should get this if you can, as it is simply a lot of free team damage.Through Storms I sail (S3) - This is a simple one. It increases Returned from Ashes damage by 42%. This is a buff to Brant's most powerful ability in his kit. As far as Sequences go, this is the ideal stopping point. To Freedom I Sing (S4) - This Sequence focuses entirely on providing support to Brant's team. When Returned from Ashes is cast, the shield it applies is 20% stronger, and it provides healing to his teammates based on his Energy Regen stat. This Sequence is alright but far from necessary due to the lack of a damage boost. All the World's an Actor's Stage (S5) - When Brant deals Basic ATK DMG, he gains 15% Basic Damage for 15 seconds. Not bad, but it's very 'meh' if you stop here. All the World's a Captain's Carnevale (S6) - Brant's S6 is very simple but extremely powerful if you can obtain it. It boosts the DMG Multiplier of his mid-air attacks by 30%. More importantly, however, is that it makes Returned from Ashes explode twice, with the second explosion dealing 30% of the damage of the first. 8. The Medal Collection pushes more challenges for Zombies players, expanding the tasks of its brutal Main Quests. Although most objectives include a handy tip, the Alchemist requires using a mysterious weapon. Here's what you must do to earn the Alchemist medal in ****** Ops 6 Zombies. How to unlock Alchemist Medals quickly in ****** Ops 6 Zombies The Alchemist Medal's in-game description indicates that you must kill five or more zombies affected by two or more elements. Use a Shock Charge and Jet Gun's Secondary Fire to complete this challenge fast. You'll need to bunch up some zombies and then use your Shock Charge. Once stunned, hold down ADS (left trigger on the controller) with the Jet Gun to unleash its blast. Screenshot by Destructoid You should receive a notification of the Alchemist Medal reward when these two elements are mixed together. I've tested out a previous method of using the Shock Charge and Molotov, but it doesn't really count for this medal. The Jet Gun route is the only one that worked for me, so I suggest sticking with this technique. The Shock Charge should be easy enough to get, as it is available via your Loadout. You can acquire more during the match by exchanging Salvage at Crafting Tables. Unlike the Shock Charge, the Jet Gun will take some time to unlock. You must obtain the Water Pressure Gauge, Handbrake, and Electrical Wires to start crafting it. Or, you can get lucky with the Mystery Box and acquire it immediately. Check out our guide on how to get the Jet Gun for more details. Keep in mind that the Jet Gun features two attacks: Primary and Secondary. If you want the Alchemist Medal, use the Secondary Fire by holding the ADS. Otherwise, you'll ***** up all the zombies with its Primary Fire (it won't produce an elemental attack). Image via Activision In addition to the BO6 Zombies' Alchemist Medal challenge, you can earn the Madness Calling Card. This Calling Card enlists you to earn 25 Alchemist Medals for the first tier. Then, it kicks it up a notch by requiring 100 medals for the third and final tier. To triumph in this objective, continue to kill those zombies with the Shock Charge and Jet Gun. You can also participate in other challenges, including the Dark Ops and the rest of the Medal collection. The post How to get Alchemist Medals fast in BO6 Zombies appeared first on Destructoid. 9. Now that Marvel Rivals is a smash hit the developers at NetEase are floating ideas around potential collaboration cosmetics, and fans aren’t too pleased. In a recent earnings call for the final quarter of 2024, representatives from NetEase discussed how the company plans to develop and market Rivals. These options include “crossover events and promotions with other media to expand the user base.” But even though many modern games use collaborations to generate hype, fans of Rivals feel like this would infringe upon the Marvel aesthetic. 10. Anker quietly released a new high-capacity power bank earlier this year that sits alongside their Anker 737 and Prime series of power banks. This particular model boasts a massive 25,000mAh battery capacity, 165W of total charging output, and two built-in USB Type-C cables in case you forget to bring your own. It normally retails for $110, but there's a deal today that drops the price to $89.99. This is a great complement to your power-hungry gaming handheld PC like the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, or Lenovo Legion Go. New Release: Anker 25,000mAh 165W Power Bank The new Anker power bank features a 25,000mAh battery capacity, which is the second largest capacity we've seen from Anker in a compact form factor. So how much juice will that offer to today's gaming handheld PCs? A 25,000mAh battery equates to a 95Whr capacity. An 80% power efficiency rating (which is standard for power banks) means you get about 76Whr of usable charge. That means this power bank will charge a Steam Deck or ROG Ally (40Whr) from empty to completely full 2 times, an Asus ROG Ally X (80Whr) 1 time, and a Nintendo Switch (16Whr) about 4.75 times. The Anker power bank has one USB Type-C port and one USB Type-A port. In addition, there are two built-in USB Type-C cables. One is a retractable cable that can extend up to 2.3 feet. The other is a fixed 1-foot cable that doubles up as a lanyard when not in use. Each USB Type-C port is capable of up to 100W of Power Delivery with a total 165W maximum output. That means all three USB outputs are capable of charging any gaming handheld PC at its fastest rate, including the Asus ROG Ally X, which supports up to 100W of fast charging. Another feature common to Anker's other premium power banks is the digital LCD readout. It displays a wealth of information like remaining battery capacity, current charging rate, input/output wattage, battery temperature, battery health, charge cycle count, and more. TSA-Approved TSA states that power banks must be under 100Whr in capacity for carry-on (check-in is not allowed under any circumstances). This Anker power bank is rated at 95Whr. You might get checked simply because this is a relatively hefty power bank, but you shouldn't have any problems getting it cleared. 13. Having a balanced match can be a challenge in Marvel Rivals when there’s 37 characters all with vastly different skills and stats. But when asked about which hero is already at the perfect spot and doesn’t need any nerfs, there were a few characters players praised. Loki was by far the most upvoted in a Reddit thread, followed by the Invisible Woman, Doctor Strange, Thor, Psylock, and the Punisher. You’ll also see other Marvel Rivals names like The Thing, Magneto, Rocket, Mantis, Starlord, and Peni being mentioned in the Reddit post, although they wasn’t as strong agreement on that second group. 14. Monster Hunter Wilds' character creation has certainly inspired players to create some amazing designs for their Hunters, and they have certainly taken their creativity to the next level. In the following list, you'll find some of the best Hunter designs in my books. Thanks to the codes, you can use them pretty easily for your own Hunter design. Best Hunter designs in Monster Hunter Wilds Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher) There are some similarities between the worlds of Monster Hunter and The Witcher, given that we hunt down monsters in both. What can be a better tribute to one another than recreating the White Wolf as your Hunter in Wilds! This amazing creation was shared on Reddit by user Gullible-Ad8788, and it certainly is one of my favorites. Kratos (God of War) Kratos is perhaps one of the most popular figures in the realm of video games, and someone recreating his looks for Wilds isn't surprising at all. The best design comes from Only Guides on YouTube, and this code will instantly turn your Hunter into a Greek demigod. Vergil (****** May Cry) Why die as a Hero when you can rule as a Villain! This must have been the motive behind user NoctisBOI, who recreated Vergil as a Hunter design. Esthetically, this design looks extremely suitable with the general world of Wilds, and make sure to equip Dual Blades to match the elements. Gigachad (Pop Figure) Gigachad might or might not have always been used on sensible memes, but one thing is certain: he has become an Internet sensation. Sorradude's creation on Reddit makes your Hunter resemble the alpha male pretty quickly. Make sure to rub off some of the aura on the monsters before you tak them down. Lucy (Cyberpunk Edgerunners) If you loved the Cyberpunk 2077-inspired anime as much as I did, there's scope for you to make your Hunter look like Lucyna Kushida, or Lucy for short. The creation from Ranniery-Jesuino allows you to enjoy an amazing design if you're picking a female archetype for your Hunter design. Danny Trejo The iconic actor has been seen in numerous video games, but he isn't a part of Monster Hunter Wilds in the official sense. However, the community has still managed to make Machete a part of the game's lore, all thanks to the character creation option. The Joker (Batman) There's already a Harley Quinn creation available on social media, but I am not a big fan of the design. The Joker, on the other hand, looks absolutely superb. Created by OnShift Gaming on YouTube, this design is as good a Joker-inspired Hunter could potentially look like. Once I have found more inspired creations, they will be added to this list. There are plenty of interesting characters yet to be adapted to Wilds. If you want to change the appearance of your existing character, you'll need Character Vouchers to unlock the function. 15. If you’re looking for something to do to pass the time, then board games are always a solid choice. Unlike video games, they’re relatively inexpensive, don’t require regular updates, and are always readily accessible regardless of internet access or power. There are board games to appeal to everyone regardless of your interests, from horror-based ones such as Horrified to something more chilled like the Stardew Valley board game. However, finding something to play gets a little more challenging if you're on a tight budget. Say you’ve got a budget of only $10; what’s out there for you to pick up and play at family games night? I’ve done some digging around and found 10 of the best board games for under $10, although I have had to stretch the definition of ‘board game’ slightly to ensure you get your money’s worth. Magnetic Image via Amazon I did mention that I was stretching the definition of ‘board game’ a bit here, right? Magnetic doesn’t even come with a board, but it does come with specific pieces and rules as well as a rope that defines the playing area, so I’m counting it here. The aim of the game is remarkably simple — players each get an equal number of magnets from the game's 24 and take turns dropping them into the rope-marked arena of play. You want to drop the magnets in a way that avoids attracting any other magnets because if you do, they become yours, and the first person to have no magnets left is the winner. Sorry! Image via Amazon This board game comes with an actual board, so it definitely counts in a list of board games even without the need to stretch the definition of the term. Sorry! is designed for both kids and adults and centers around the theme of sweet revenge. It seems like a fairly straightforward game for between 2 to 4 players. The aim is to get all three (or four, in more recent versions) pawns around the board and into the home spot for their respective color. However, all players can sabotage their opponents' attempts to make that happen. Trouble Image via Amazon I have fond memories of Trouble, although with my British upbringing, I know it better as ‘Frustration’. My memories mostly pertain to the satisfying pop of the Pop-o-matic dice roller in the middle, which certainly annoyed my parents after the millionth time I slapped it with glee. On the plus side, at least they never had to replace the dice. Trouble is a different take on Sorry!, with players each having four colored pegs that you need to get around the board and line up in the finish line towards the center of the board. There’s less sabotage involved than there is in Sorry!, but still a lot of frustration involved, which is probably where the *** version got its name. Ouija Board Image via Amazon Even though horror movies and occult fanatics have adopted the Ouija Board as a tool for contacting the dead and demons of the world, it was first patented by the Kennard Novelty Company as a parlor game. So, if you can look past the scary possibility that you might summon Satan himself by playing, then you might have some fun. The movement of the planchette is scientifically explained as the Ideomotor Phenomenon, or in layman's terms, unconscious movement. Let’s face it, the piece of wood is unlikely to move of its own accord or under the hands of a ghostie trying to convey a message. That doesn’t mean that I’ll willingly allow one into my house, but nothing is stopping you at under $10, if you’ve got the mental fortitude. Monopoly Deal Image via Amazon Every time I write a board game list, Monopoly comes up somewhere, and this one is no different, even considering the strict budget. Monopoly Deal is like the board game transformed into a card game format. You still need to collect properties, face off against debt collectors, and do everything else you’ve come to expect from the property mogul game. With two players, a game of Monopoly Deal can be completed in as little as five to 15 minutes, this time extending to just under an hour if five people are playing together. Zillionaires: Road Trip USA Image via Amazon If you enjoy Monopoly and all of its property buying aspects, then you’ll love Zillionaires: Road Trip USA. The game not only comes with an actual board (something of a rarity on this list at this point), but it also comes with a physical auctioneer's gavel to bang, marking the end of each bidding war. These bidding wars take place between players trying to purchase one of 49 strange attractions across the USA. The first person to purchase four different attractions is crowned the winner, but there’s a catch — the four attractions must be next to each other on the board. This proves difficult with others bidding against you for the same properties. Guess Who? Image via Amazon Admittedly, you’re unlikely to find the full board-based version of Guess Who? for under $10, but you can get the card-based version within the budget and have some dollars to spare. Guess Who? is great for kids and adults alike, sparking conversation and thoughtful questions. The premise of the card game is the same as the original board game, with each player asking questions to try and figure out exactly who the other players’ mystery character is. Are they wearing glasses? Do they have brown hair? Are they a girl? You know the drill. World’s Smallest Operation Images via Amazon As with Guess Who, you’re probably not going to find Operation for under 10 bucks. However, if you’re up for the challenge, there’s always the world’s smallest version that can be put into your pocket and taken with you on the go if that’s your idea of fun. There are only four ailments included in the tiny version (broken heart, butterflies, charlie horse, and wrenched ankle), but they’re just as annoying to remove and you still have to contend with the nerve-wracking buzz that comes if you touch the edge with the tweezers. It even comes in an adorably tiny little box. Disney Lorcana Gateway Image via Amazon If you’ve ever looked at the Disney Lorcana trading card game and thought it looks a little overwhelming, then Disney Lorcana Gateway is your entry point into the game. It comes with two starter decks, reward packs containing more cards, counters, movers, and everything else you’ll need to complete your first game. This is also a great way to discover whether you can get into the Lorcana TCG as a whole before pouring money into it only to find out that it’s not for you. At under $10, it’s a relatively cheap way to find out if you enjoy the rules and gameplay, plus a worthwhile collectible for any Disney fan. Pictureka (Giant Edition) Image via Amazon Pictureka is essentially just a game of hide and seek in which players draw cards and have to find the items from that card on a jumbled board of doodled images. Pictureka (Giant Edition) is that, but on steroids, with a humongous playing field to work with. It’s great for kids, and I can personally attest that it will keep them entertained for a long time, but it’s also great for adults looking to test their observational and memory skills. With colorful images and a wide range of items to hunt down, you’ll enjoy playing with little ones or even on your own if you’re a little bored.
