  2. Premier League: Who will qualify for Champions League, Europa League and Conference League? Premier League: Who will qualify for Champions League, Europa League and Conference League? Five Premier League teams will battle it out for three Champions League places on the final day of the season, with Newcastle boss Eddie Howe saying he “had the feeling it would go right to the end”. Arsenal’s 1-0 win over the Magpies on Sunday ensured they join champions Liverpool in next season’s Champions League. But it leaves Newcastle as one of three teams on 66 points, alongside Chelsea and Aston Villa, with Manchester City and Nottingham Forest on 65 points. Five English sides will qualify for the Champions League through the league, up from the usual four, with an extra place secured because of positive results by Premier League clubs in Europe this season. Sixth-placed Manchester City have a game in hand, at home to Bournemouth on Tuesday, meaning their fate is in their own hands, unlike Villa. Beaten FA Cup finalists City then visit Fulham on the final day. Newcastle, meanwhile, know a home win against Everton next Sunday (16:00 BST) would successfully finish the job. Chelsea also know a win would be enough. But… they visit Forest, who beat West Ham 2-1 on Sunday to keep their own hopes alive. Forest need to beat the Blues and hope at least one team above them slips up. Villa will probably need to win at Manchester United and hope for favours elsewhere. Still following? The winners of Wednesday’s Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham will also qualify for next season’s Champions League, meaning there will be a sixth English team in the competition, but that has no impact on any league permutations. With Spurs and United in the bottom five of the Premier League, whoever loses in Bilbao will have no European football of any kind next season. Another European finalist, Chelsea, could have a say in what other English teams qualify for various European competitions, but more on that later. 3. Anthony Albanese plays down defence and security proposal ahead of EU trade talks Anthony Albanese plays down defence and security proposal ahead of EU trade talks European Commission Chief Ursula von der Leyen has proposed a defence and security agreement that would potentially enable *********** access to Europe’s massive remarmament build-up. President von der Leyen made the offer during her one-on-one meeting with Anthony Albanese in Rome. But Prime Minister Anthony Albanese instantly downplayed the idea as an “assertion” and “suggestion” and expressed stronger support for a standard trade deal between Australia and the EU which previously collapsed over a fight on beef quotas. President von der Leyen told Mr Albanese that she wanted a “new era” in ties and urged the two jurisdictions to contemplate a broader partnership than just selling goods to one another. The pair met on the sidelines of Pope Leo XIV’s inaugurationation in Rome on Sunday. “We meet here in Rome to celebrate the new era in the ********,” President von der Leyen said. “So perhaps you could say we also are looking forward to a new era between Europe and Australia. “We do not only see you as a trading partner, but we see you as a strategic partner, and we would very much like to broaden this strategic partnership. “For example, we have signed security and defence agreements with South Korea and with Japan, soon with the ***. “We would be very pleased if we could develop such a security and defence partnership too, just to broaden the strategic partnership in many topics that we have in common.” But when The Nightly asked Mr Albanese if he was interested in signing Australia up to the more ambitious partnership, he appeared lukewarm. “We said that we were certainly interested in any further engagement of support, but it’s very early stages at this point,” he said. “So we should imagine that future discussions may take place either at NATO or on a bilateral basis between Australia and the European Union. “This was just a suggestion that Ursula von der Leyen raised. “There was no detail further, it was really an assertion of Europe’s values being consistent with Australia’s values, and in what ways could be explored — further defence cooperation.” The European Union is releasing up to €800 billion in debt for member states to spend on boosting their defences. This funding is separate to NATO — the US-led military alliance that US President Donald Trump has threatened because of Europe’s poor record on defence spending. The EU’s huge injection of funds is earmarked for European nations to spend primarily on domestic defence companies but carve outs are proposed for a €150 billion fund for nations that sign strategic partnerships with the EU. The European Union, under Von der Leyen, has become more geopolitical and security oriented in light of the war in Ukraine and the Covid pandemic which began in China. The security partnerships that it has signed with Japan and Korea state that Europe regards the threats to the continent and the Indo Pacific as inter-connected. Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand comprise the Indo-Pacific 4 group of nations that have been invited to the last three NATO summits in the wake of Russia’s ******** invasion of Ukraine and Europe’s increased focus on the threat posed by China. The Prime Minister also met Ukraine’s President Volodmyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the Pope Leo XIV’s inaugural mass on the steps of St Peter’s Basilica at the ******** in Rome. “During our campaign I made it clear that the *********** government position that I lead is very supportive of your struggle,” Mr Albanese told President Zelensky. “The Russian ******** aggression needs to be resisted and we stand with UKraine very clearly and unequivocally. “Ukraine has to be able to determine your future enough to have something imposed on you.” He said *********** tanks were on their way to Ukraine and repeated that he was willing to join the Coalition of the Willing being formed by French President Emmanuel Macron and *** Prime Minister Keir Starmer. “It’s always at strange hours in Australia, some very late-night meetings that I have participated in,” Mr Albanese observed. A Coalition of the Willing would potentially involve peacekeepers to secure any peace deal struck between Russia and Ukraine that would likely be brokered by the United States. President Trump will call President Zelensky and Russia’s Vladimir Putin on Monday. On Sunday, Mr Zelensky met US Vice President JD Vance and they shook hands at the Pope’s mass in what constituted much warmer scenes following February’s ugly Oval Office encounter when the US leaders berated Ukraine’s war-time leader. President Zelensky thanked Australia for its military support but Mr Albanese said no further aid was requested at their meeting. “Thank you very much for your military support, for your strong words and supporting the coalition of the willing,” Mr Zelensky said. “I think that it’s not strange we are both allies. “I think it’s great that we have so many allies in different continents. “Together, we can really move this situation to closer to peace, with pressure on Russia. “And we are very thankful for sanctions. I wanted to raise with you also this topic which is very important, to put more pressure, more sanctions on Russia. “And I hope that we can have a real just peace, what we need for our people. “And thank you for the news of the tanks.” Mr Albanese returned the gratitude, thanking Ukraine for their assistance regarding the case of *********** man Oscar Jenkins, who Russia has jailed for fighting on behalf of Ukraine. But it was not clear that whatever assistance Ukraine had provided would lead to any immediate breakthrough, such as an inclusion in a prisoner swap. Mr Albanese was just one of many world leaders Mr Zelensky met during his trip to the ******** where 151 world leaders and dignataries, including 55 reigning monarchs, gathered for the inaugural mass of Pope Leo XIV. The ******** estimated that around 150,000 well-wishers turned out for the two-hour ceremony underneath clear skies and warm sun on Sunday morning. Americans will be with them every step of the way.” British journalist and broadcaster Piers Morgan took aim at social media users appearing to celebrate the news. “I’m going to block anyone I see – and there’s already a lot of this vile crap flying around – mocking, celebrating, or playing partisan politics with Joe Biden’s health news,” he said. “The man has served his country for 50yrs and is fighting for his life. Show some bloody respect.” Former Biden spokesperson TJ Ducklo wrote on the social media platform that “No one in America is stronger than Joe Biden. Mine metastasized to the bones too. ******* has no f****** idea who it’s dealing with. Betting against Biden has never been and still remains a bad f****** bet.” Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom said, “Our hearts are with President Biden and his entire family right now. 11. ‘I’ve never been a fan of American presidents criticizing America on foreign soil’ ‘I’ve never been a fan of American presidents criticizing America on foreign soil’ Former Vice President Mike Pence rebuked his former boss for criticizing U.S. foreign policy while abroad, framing some of President Donald Trump’s policies as a betrayal of American service members. During a speech in Saudi Arabia — part of the president’s first trip of his second administration to the Middle East — Trump criticized Western intervention from “so-called nation-builders, neo-cons, or liberal non-profits” in the region. “I’ve never been a fan of American presidents criticizing America on foreign soil,” Pence said, speaking about Trump’s speech during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that was taped last week and released Sunday. “And to have the president in Saudi Arabia questioning America’s global war on terror, and describing it as nation-building and interventionist, I thought was a disservice to generations of Americans who wore the uniform and who took the fight to our enemy, you know, in Afghanistan and in Iraq.” “And particularly giving that speech in Saudi Arabia, where 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers hailed from, not including ****** bin Laden, I thought was unfortunate,” he continued. Pence’s scolding comes as the president also recently made the decision to accept a $400 million jet from Qatar — one of the stops on Trump’s trip. Pence decried this move as well due to Qatar’s ties with the Iran-backed militant group, ******. “The very idea that we would accept an Air Force One from Qatar I think is inconsistent with our security, with our intelligence needs and my hope is the president reconsiders it,” Pence said. Trump’s trip to the Middle East last week departed from the traditions of presidential foreign travel, highlighting the president’s commitment to what has been seen as a transactional approach to foreign policy. Trump has de-emphasized the role American leaders dating back to President Jimmy Carter have played in attempting to push other nations to improve their records on human rights, something that particularly resonates with the nations he visited last week. During the trip, Trump claimed to have garnered over $2 trillion in investment agreements with Middle Eastern leaders, such as a roughly $150 billion deal between Saudi Arabia and American defense contractors and the Qatari government’s purchasing of 160 Boeing planes. Trump also repeatedly complimented his foreign counterparts throughout the trip, calling Syria’s new leader “attractive” and “tough,” despite having once been labeled a terrorist by the U.S. He also described the Qatari ruling family as “tall, handsome guys.” Pence’s criticism of Trump’s recent actions highlights the stark shift in Trump’s attitude toward the Middle East between his first and second presidency. In 2017, for instance, Trump issued his controversial travel ban on seven ******* countries and called Qatar a “funder of terrorism at a very high level.” Source link #Ive #fan #American #presidents #criticizing #America #foreign #soil Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]
  12. Portuguese PM’s party claims election win, falls short of majority Portuguese PM’s party claims election win, falls short of majority Hugo Soares, PSD parliamentary leader walks, following the first exit polls, at Portugal’s Social Democratic Party (PSD) and Democratic Alliance (AD) leader Luis Montenegro’s electoral night headquarters, in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 18, 2025. Violeta Santos Moura | Reuters Portugal’s center-right Democratic Alliance (AD) claimed victory in Sunday’s early parliamentary election, but again fell short of a full majority, provisional data showed, leaving the center-left Socialists and far-right Chega neck-and-neck for second spot. The election, the third in as many years, was called just one year into the ********* government’s term after Prime Minister Luis Montenegro failed to win a parliamentary vote of confidence in March when the opposition questioned his integrity over dealings of his family’s consultancy firm. Montenegro has denied any wrongdoing, and voters have largely dismissed the opposition’s criticism and apparently punished the main opposition Socialists at the polls for being instrumental in bringing down his ********* government. Official electoral data showed the AD receiving over 34% of the vote. Far-right Chega, on the other hand, outperformed most opinion polls and was at 23.3% with half of the vote counted, compared to the 18% it obtained in last year’s election. Chega was just ahead of the Socialists at 23%. Montenegro has refused to make any deals with Chega, meaning his government would have to negotiate piecemeal parliamentary support. “We will await the final verdict, but it seems safe to say … the AD had a very strong electoral victory,” said Hugo Soares, the parliamentary bench leader of Montenegro’s Social Democratic Party, the senior partner in the AD. Early tallies can be unreliable as results from smaller municipalities come in first, while ballots in large cities such as Lisbon and Porto are counted towards the end. The election, also dominated by issues such as housing and immigration, follows a decade of fragile governments; the only one of which to have a parliamentary majority still collapsed halfway through its term last year. Anti-immigration, anti-establishment Chega, a party founded in 2019 by charismatic former football commentator Andre Ventura, became the third-largest parliamentary force in 2022 and quadrupled its seats in 2024. “We still don’t know if we’ll come in second or third place,” said Pedro Pinto, Chega’s bench leader. “What we know is that the system is already shaking.” It could be the first time in almost 40 years that the Socialists finish below the top two. ‘Stable solution’ Outside the polling station where Montenegro voted in the northern city of Espinho, Irene Medeiros, 77, said the “best candidate must win,” but that she feared more uncertainty ahead. Political scientist Antonio Costa Pinto said the new parliament would likely be similar to the last, and it was impossible to predict how long the government would last, as it depended on factors ranging from the international situation to the AD’s ability to reach deals with other parties. “The only doubt is whether the AD will form a new ********* government … or whether it will form a post-electoral coalition with IL, even if this coalition does not guarantee an absolute majority,” he said, referring to the pro-business Liberal Initiative (IL) party. IL, a party some analysts see as a potential coalition ally of the AD, was at 4.5% of the vote, which is still insufficient for a potential alliance to reach a majority of 116 seats in the 230-seat parliament. Shortly after casting his own ballot, Montenegro told reporters he was confident stability could be achieved. “There is a search for a stable solution, but that will now depend on (people’s) choices,” he said. Portugal has outperformed most European Union countries on economic growth, and run budget surpluses and reduced its debts under both center-left and center-right governments. But further political instability could delay major projects such as lithium mining in the north, and potentially compromise the long-delayed privatization of the TAP airline. 14. Wall St advances on trade hopes amid investor pessimism Wall St advances on trade hopes amid investor pessimism Wall Street’s main indexes rose on Friday for their fifth straight day, buoyed by the US-China tariff truce earlier in the week even as economic survey data showed a deterioration in consumer sentiment. The S&P 500 steadily added to gains from late morning, while investors took weak data in their stride. The University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers said its Consumer Sentiment Index slumped further in May while one-year inflation expectations surged to 7.3 per cent from 6.5 per cent in April. All three main indexes boasted weekly gains after starting out with a steep rally on Monday – after Washington and Beijing agreed to a 90-day pause in their escalating trade war. This was days after the US President and British Prime Minister announced a limited bilateral trade agreement. Lindsey Bell, chief market strategist at Clearnomics, New York, said Friday’s advance was a “carry on from the de-escalation in the trade conflict.” With a solid economy combined with pessimistic investors, Bell expects more volatility ahead as tariff headlines come out, and added that “data could change in coming months.” “I don’t think we’re out of the woods yet. We’re going to have to take it on a day-by-day, week-by-week basis,” she said. Paul Christopher, head of global investment strategy at Wells Fargo Investment Institute, said the market is “cautiously optimistic” about the softening stance on trade, but waiting to see where the US eventually lands on tariffs. “We haven’t even begun to see what happens when those tariffs really bite, when firms have to raise their prices to consumers and consumers see fewer goods and less variety on the shelves,” said Christopher. Investors were also left waiting for clarity on US tax policy as Trump’s sweeping tax bill failed to clear a key procedural hurdle as hardline Republicans demanding deeper spending cuts blocked the measure in a rare political setback for the Republican president in Congress. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 331.99 points, or 0.78 per cent, to 42,654.74, the S&P 500 gained 41.45 points, or 0.70 per cent, to 5,958.38 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 98.78 points, or 0.52 per cent, to 19,211.10. For the week, the S&P 500 gained about 5.3 per cent while the Nasdaq rose 7.2 per cent and the Dow added 3.4 per cent. Among the S&P 500’s 11 major industry indexes, most advanced with energy the sole loser, down 0.18 per cent. The biggest gainer was healthcare, which ended up 1.96 per cent for the day after a volatile week. One of its biggest index point boosts was from UnitedHealth Group Inc, which regained ground – rising 6.4 per cent on Friday and leading S&P 500 percentage gains – after eight straight days of steep losses. Investors were warily expecting strategic changes at the insurer after the Wall Street Journal reported it was under a criminal probe by the Justice Department. Among other individual stocks, Applied Materials shares slipped 5.3 per cent after the provider of equipment for chip manufacturing missed estimates for second-quarter revenue. Charter Communications shares rose 1.8 per cent after the cable company said it would buy privately held rival Cox Communications for $US21.9 billion ($A34.1 billion). Shares in Verizon Communications rose 1.7 per cent after the Federal Communications Commission said Friday it was approving its $US20 billion ($A31 billion) purchase of fibre-optic internet provider Frontier Communications after the largest US telecom company agreed to end its diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by a 2.72-to-1 ratio on the NYSE where there were 207 new highs and 34 new lows. On the Nasdaq, 2,792 stocks rose and 1,607 fell as advancing issues outnumbered decliners by a 1.74-to-1 ratio. The S&P 500 posted 28 new 52-week highs and no new lows while the Nasdaq Composite recorded 62 new highs and 73 new lows. 16. Romanian centrist Dan poised to win presidency over hard-right rival Romanian centrist Dan poised to win presidency over hard-right rival Presidential candidate Nicusor Dan reacts to first exit polls of Romania’s second round of the presidential election, in Bucharest, Romania, on May 18, 2025. Stoyan Nenov | Reuters Romania’s centrist Bucharest mayor, Nicusor Dan, appeared on course to win the presidency on Sunday in a shock upset over a hard-right rival who had pledged to put Romania on a path inspired by U.S. President Donald Trump’s politics. Official results from about 98% of voting stations showed Dan garnering about 54% of ballots cast by voters in the EU and NATO member country of about 19 million people, while Trump supporter George Simion was at 46%. Dan, a soft-spoken mathematician, made a last-minute dash to the top in recent days after weeks of trailing Simion, a eurosceptic wanting to end military aid for Ukraine in its war with Russia. Simion, who was the top vote-getter in the first round of the election two weeks ago with 41% of ballots cast, did not concede on Sunday and called himself the winner. Dan, 55, had campaigned on a pledge to fight rampant corruption, to maintain support for Ukraine — where Romania has played an important logistic role — and to keep the country firmly within the European mainstream. The voting in Romania took place on the same day as the first round of a Polish election in which a liberal frontrunner, Rafal Trzaskowski, edged ahead of Karol Nawrocki, the candidate backed by the opposition nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party. Both elections are being closely watched across Europe amid concern that popular anger with mainstream elites over migration and cost-of-living pressures could bolster support for Trump and erode unity on the continent over how to deal with Russia. In Romania, the election showed backlash against politicians taking inspiration from right-wing populist Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, according to Mujtaba Rahman, managing director for Europe at consultancy Eurasia Group. “This is a really strong result for the pro-European candidate,” Rahman said. “It’s another example of the positive Trump effect on European election cycles where concerns about the political and policy direction moving in a MAGA-like way have mobilized voters.” ‘A difficult ******* ahead’ Dan acknowledged that he faces a tough challenge in finding a prime minister to negotiate a majority in parliament to reduce Romania’s budget deficit – the largest in the EU – as well as to reassure investors and try to avoid a credit rating downgrade. “There will be a difficult ******* ahead, necessary for economic rebalancing to lay the foundations of a healthy society. Please have hope and patience,” Dan told supporters after exit polls were published showing him ahead. The election took place nearly six months after the initial ballot was cancelled because of alleged Russian interference – denied by Moscow – in favour of far-right frontrunner Calin Georgescu, who was banned from standing again. Romania looked poised to swing towards Russia had Georgescu won, and Simion built a campaign to benefit from his support, signalling he would nominate him as prime minister if he emerged victorious. The president of Romania has considerable powers, including being in charge of the defense council that decides on military aid. The president will also oversee foreign policy, with the power to veto EU votes that require unanimity. Staunchly pro-EU and NATO, Dan said in the run-up to the election that Romania’s support for Ukraine was crucial for its own security against a growing Russian threat. Political analysts had said victory for Simion would have risked isolating Romania abroad, eroding private investment and destabilizing NATO’s eastern flank. It also would have meant that Hungary’s fiercely anti-immigrant leader Viktor Orban, a long-time Trump ally, and Slovakia’s Robert Fico — who both oppose military aid for Ukraine — would gain a new ally in the European Council in decisions on aid for Ukraine, energy, sanctions against Russia or the EU’s budget. Speaking after voting ended, Simion said his election was “clear.” “I won!!! I am the new President of Romania and I am giving back the power to the Romanians!” Simion said on Facebook. Sergiu Miscoiu, a political science professor at Babes-Bolyai University, said some protests by Simion supporters could not be ruled out in the coming days. “It remains to be seen how Mr. Simion reacts once the results come in. If they are percentages apart it is hard to believe we would be able to challenge them,” Miscoiu said. In the first round of Poland’s presidential election, admirers of Trump’s politics won just under half of votes, according to exit polls, including Nawrocki’s result combined with that of far-right candidate Slawomir Mentzen. 18. Rafal Trzaskowski, Warsaw’s liberal mayor, leads after first round Rafal Trzaskowski, Warsaw’s liberal mayor, leads after first round Adam Easton BBC Warsaw correspondent Reuters Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski was narrowly ahead of his conservative rival according to a poll released when voting ended Warsaw’s liberal mayor Rafal Trzaskowski won a narrow victory in Poland’s presidential election, according to an exit poll, but a second-round run-off with conservative historian Karol Nawrocki will be required to decide the country’s next president. According to the poll released when voting ended, Trzaskowski, a deputy leader of prime minister Donald Tusk’s centrist Civic Platform (PO) party, won 30.8% of the votes. Nawrocki came second with 29.1% of the votes. If the poll is confirmed by the final official result – not expected until late Monday – Trzaskowski and Nawrocki will compete in a second-round on 1 June as none of the 13 candidates won more than 50% of the vote. Trzaskowski told his supporters at a rally in Sandomierz, southern Poland: “We’re going to win.” But he said a lot of work and “great determination” would be needed. “I’m convinced that all Poland will win,” he said. He pledged to cooperate with prime minister Tusk’s coalition to liberalise the country’s strict abortion law and accelerate reform of the Polish judiciary, which was widely seen to have been politicised by the previous PiS-led government. Trzaskowski performed worse than opinion polls predicted before the vote, which had him between 4%-6% ahead of Nawrocki. Poland’s president has largely ceremonial powers but he or she is able to veto government legislation. Tusk’s coalition does not have a big enough parliamentary majority to overturn a presidential veto. Tusk has failed to deliver many of his campaign promises, partly because the incumbent conservative president Andrzej Duda has vetoed his government’s legislation, but also due to divisions within the coalition over issues like abortion and civil partnerships. A victory for Trzaskowski would remove the president’s veto, but Nawrocki would likely be an even tougher obstacle than Duda. Nawrocki told his supporters in Gdansk that Tusk must be stopped from winning total power in Poland. He called on supporters of two far-right candidates, Slawomir Mentzen, who came third and won 15.4%, and of Grzegorz Braun, who came fourth and won 6.2%, to “save Poland” from Tusk. Getty Images Karol Nawocki, a conservative historian, came in second with 29.1% of the vote, according to the exit poll A lot will depend on which candidate can mobilise their electorate in the second round. Nawrocki was unknown on a national scale before Law and Justice (PiS) chose him as its candidate. But he has improved on the job, and PiS is traditionally good at getting their vote out. Trzaskowski will need to win the votes of supporters of his centrist party, but also those supporting the candidates of the junior coalition partners, the Left (Magdalena Biejat) and conservative Third Way (Szymon Holownia). Another worry for Trzaskowski is the better than expected result of far-right candidates because many of their supporters will not vote for him. Mentzen’s result was a strong showing and continued the improvement of his far-right Confederation party since it entered parliament in 2019. Who will his, mainly young voters, back in the run-off? Many would support Nawrocki for his Catholic, family-oriented views, but they dislike PiS’s left-wing economic policy of generous state benefits. Mentzen is an anti-establishment candidate, and some of his supporters may not want to vote for either Nawrocki or Trzaskowski, who represent the two parties that have dominated Polish politics for two decades. Far-right MEP, Grzegorz Braun’s result was a ****** surprise for Poland’s liberal voters. Braun made headlines in 2023 when he put out the candles on a Jewish menorah in the Polish parliament with a fire extinguisher following a ceremony for the festival of Hanukkah. Braun called the festival “satanic”. During a presidential debate last month he said: “Jews have far too much say in Polish affairs.” Source link #Rafal #Trzaskowski #Warsaws #liberal #mayor #leads Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]
  19. Biden Diagnosed with ‘Aggressive’ Metastatic Prostate ******* Biden Diagnosed with ‘Aggressive’ Metastatic Prostate ******* WASHINGTON (AP) – Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate *******, his office said Sunday. Biden was seen last week by doctors after ******** symptoms and a prostate nodule was found. He was diagnosed with prostate ******* on Friday, with the ******* cells having spread to the bone. His office said he has stage 9 *******. “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the ******* appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” his office said. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.” Prostate cancers are given a score called a Gleason score that measures, on a scale of 1 to 10, how the cancerous cells look compared with normal cells. Biden’s score of 9 suggests his ******* is among the most aggressive. When prostate ******* spreads to other parts of the body, it often spreads to the bones. Metastasized ******* is much harder to treat than localized ******* because it can be hard for drugs to reach all the tumors and completely root out the disease. However, when prostate cancers need hormones to grow, as in Biden’s case, they can be susceptible to treatment that deprives the tumors of hormones. The health of Biden, 82, was a dominant concern among voters during his time as president. After a calamitous debate performance in June while seeking reelection, Biden abandoned his bid for a second term. Then-Vice President Kamala Harris became the nominee and lost to Republican Donald Trump, who returned to the White House after a four-year hiatus. But in recent days, Biden rejected concerns about his age despite reporting in the new book “Original Sin” by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson that aides had shielded the public from the extent of his decline while serving as president. In February 2023, Biden had a skin lesion removed from his chest that was a basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin *******. And in November 2021, he had a polyp removed from his colon that was a benign, but potentially pre-cancerous lesion. 25. Lego Monkey Palace Board Game Is Over 50% Off At Amazon Right Now Lego Monkey Palace Board Game Is Over 50% Off At Amazon Right Now Monkey Palace, an officially licensed Lego board game, is discounted to its lowest price yet at Amazon. For a limited time, you can pick up the family-friendly strategy game for only $19.11, which is over 50% off its $40 list price. Monkey Palace is a fun experience that turns the act of piecing together Lego bricks into a fast-paced and varied strategy game for 2-4 players. As with many of Amazon’s deals, the Monkey Palace discount doesn’t have an end date listed, so it could disappear at any time. Created by Bezzerwizzer in collaboration with Lego, Monkey Palace released last October and still frequently sells for its full $40 MSRP at most retailers. At the moment, Walmart has it for $35, while Target and the Lego Store are selling the game for $40. Since we often times see price-matching on board games at major retailers, it’s a bit surprising that Amazon is selling Monkey Palace for such a low price. $19.11 (was $40) What happens when a monkey stumbles upon an ancient palace in the jungle but decides to redecorate their new home? The entire place collapses, of course, so now you and up to three other players need to rebuild the structure from scratch. To help the monkey live large again, humans take turns adding Lego pieces to makeshift staircases. Each piece is worth a certain number of Monkey Credits, which are exchanged for Monkey Cards. The Monkey Card you choose to play determines which brick type(s) you use to make and decorate the staircases. As you build, you rack up Banana Points, which are counted at the end of the game to determine the winner. Games last roughly 45 minutes. Monkey Palace comes with 231 bricks and multiple game boards, each of which presents their own unique challenges and adds replay value. There are many different ways to build your palace, so while there are rules to follow, it is a fairly open-ended game that can be approached from different angles. The game is recommended for players ages 10 and up, but younger players with experience building Lego can enjoy the loop, too. My four-year-old regularly builds and modifies Lego Super Mario playsets, and he enjoys Monkey Palace. We have to help him at times with strategy, but that hasn’t stopped Monkey Palace from becoming one of his favorite board games. Monkey Palace certainly isn’t the first officially licensed Lego board game, but it is the only one still in print at the moment. Older Lego board games tend to be listed for rather high prices on reseller storefronts, so it’d be wise to add Monkey Palace to your collection sooner rather than later, especially since it’s on ***** for so cheap.
