Credit: Intel The computing conference Computex 2025 is showcasing the future of PCs in Taipei this week with massive announcements from Nvidia, AMD and more. Intel is among them, and one of the ******* reveals from Team Blue this week was live demos of the upcoming Panther Lake Core Ultra 300 CPUs for laptops. Our colleagues at Tom’s Hardware got to put some eyeballs on the Panther Lake-powered systems while at Computex, and their Intel demos sound promising. According to them, Intel showcased real-time tests of a Panther Lake CPU as it rendered or powered AI applications. They showed that the “silicon is healthy and on-track for retail availability in early 2026.” The processors were using Cougar Cove P-cores (performance cores) and Darkmont E-cores (efficiency cores) which are being built on Intel’s 18A node process, which should deliver better performance than earlier editions. The new laptop CPUs were described as blend of Intel’s power-efficient Lunar Lake chips and the Arrow Lake-H performance CPUs. That sounds like it could be good news for future handheld gaming PCs like the MSI Claw 8 AI+, though we expect to see Panther Lake primarily in laptops. Intel has also previously teased a “next-gen built-in iGPU” which could also be a major performance booster, but it has not elaborated on that teaser at Computex so far. Intel has faced severe challenges in the last couple of years, so Panther Lake needs to be a quality chip to right the boat for the struggling chip maker. Especially as companies like AMD are impressing with its Ryzen Z2 Extreme processors, which we saw in a MSI Claw A8 at Computex. That said, right now Intel has the advantage in battery life efficiency with its Lunar Lake chips and it appears that Panther Lake is on track to keep that lead while providing better performance. The United States and the European Union imposed sanctions on Sovcomflot and its fleet in 2024 to try and reduce Russia’s revenue from oil sales that it can use to finance its war in Ukraine. In January, the United States added new Sovcomflot vessels to the list of sanctioned assets and withdrew a U.S. licence, granted last year, that had allowed some vessels in its fleet to operate despite sanctions. Sovcomflot, which reported a 49% year-on-year drop in first-quarter revenue to $278.5 million, said the January sanctions had been particularly impactful, creating additional commercial and operational difficulties. “The intensification of Western sanctions has made it more difficult to operate the fleet and led to lower revenues and downtime for some sanctioned vessels,” Sovcomflot said in a statement. “In the reporting *******, unprecedented sanctions restrictions were imposed on the company and its vessels, which created additional commercial and operational difficulties in operating the fleet,” Sovcomflot said. (WFRV) – A large fire that broke out Tuesday night in Wisconsin required an extensive response and has left residents and business owners facing a costly recovery. Firefighters were dispatched to the 700 block of 3rd Street after reports of smoke coming from a building associated with apartments above 244 Main Street. Fire causes $60,000 in damages to Appleton duplex, two families impacted When crews arrived, they found smoke seeping through cracks in the bricks and along the building’s foundation. Firefighters entered with a hose line and encountered dense smoke, zero visibility, and extreme heat in the basement. A thermal imaging camera revealed a deep-seated fire that had likely been burning for an extended *******. Conditions quickly worsened, forcing firefighters to evacuate the basement and leave their hose line behind. With all occupants safely out, crews shifted to a defensive strategy. Fires in this type of structure present added challenges, including the risk of flames spreading through shared walls to neighboring buildings. Mutual aid was requested from nearby departments, and heavy equipment from CR Bryan & Sons was brought in. Firefighters worked through the night, pouring hundreds of thousands of gallons of water into the building. An excavator was used to gain access and help contain the fire to 244 Main Street. Despite the efforts, smoke and water traveled through a common wall, causing significant damage to the adjacent Mood Boutique. Firefighters remained on the scene until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to monitor and extinguish hot spots. The cause of the fire remains under investigation but is believed to be electrical. The American Red Cross provided assistance to those affected and supported fire crews with food and water during the operation. Omro Alderman charged for receiving/distributing child ************, faces up to 20 years in prison To help ease the financial burden facing residents and businesses, the city of Menomonie has launched a relief fund. We have seen an increase in bullish (and a drop in bearish) Investor sentiment as the rally extended beyond its 200-week MA, to the point it’s again at an inflection point, but perhaps an inflection point that the next leg down will confirm a major swing low. In the near term we have the first of many buying opportunities. For the () we have a test of the 20-day MA off the back of yesterday’s distribution day. A bounce here would lead to a challenge of 200-day MAs, assisted by net bullish technicals. The will soon be testing the convergence of 20-day and 200-day MAs in a scenario that should offer a bounce play opportunity. As with the Russell 2000, technicals are net positive. The is doing well to hang on to its gains, having not suffered the losses of the Russell 2000 and S&P 500. While I would look for positive support tests of Russell 2000 and S&P 500, it might end up been the that does the lead out and challenge 20,000 for a second time. As we head into Friday, we need to consider as to what degree of losses we can expect from this early fade. Investor sentiment suggests we won’t see a successful support test in S&P 500 or Russell 2000, and likely further losses in the Nasdaq. But even if such losses do occur, they are likely part of the last leg down before a major swing low gets put in place. It’s an investors market. All the surviving birds, estimated as more than 5000 chickens – it was too hard to get a specific count – plus some others such as turkeys and quails, were primarily adopted by local families, rescues and farms, according to First State Animal Center and SPCA. The chicks were part of a 12,000-bird shipment left unattended in a truck at a Delaware mail distribution centre. Trapped in high temperatures without food or hydration, thousands died, according to the state Department of Agriculture. The US Postal Service says it is investigating the “process breakdown” that occurred. For more than two weeks, the surviving birds had been cared for at an overwhelmed First State Animal Center and SPCA, said John Parana, executive director. As a no-kill operation, the shelter would not take adopters planning to use the birds for meat, Parana said. Some of the adopters took hundreds at a time, hoping for egg-laying hens, while others took them as pets. Stephanie Bruzdzinski adopted a handful of chicks after her daughter learned about their situation. “She was very upset and wanted to help out,” said Bruzdzinski, who was similarly shocked when she heard the news. “She doesn’t like when things aren’t getting taken care of.” The birds originated from Pennsylvania-based Freedom Ranger Hatchery’s weekly bird shipment to clients around the country, and due to biosecurity concerns, the hatchery could not take the chicks back, the company said. It’s why most performance comparisons would show a higher resolution and more consistent performance on PS4 than X one the only exception being when the Devs targeted a lower resolution and gained more consistent fps on the xone. Launch titles show this quite strongly with most games being 1080p on PS4 while they were 900p on xone the divide only worsened as the generation went on.
