  3. ‘Open Your Eyes And Your Mind’ ‘Open Your Eyes And Your Mind’ Benzinga and Yahoo Finance LLC may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below. Renowned author and investor Robert Kiyosaki strongly supported Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) on Sunday, predicting it could lead to significant wealth accumulation. What Happened: Kiyosaki, author of the best-selling book “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” took to X to make yet another bullish forecast for the apex cryptocurrency. He expressed disbelief at how “easy” Bitcoin has made it to get rich and wondered why more people aren’t investing in it. “Even .01 of a Bitcoin is going to be priceless in two years…. and maybe make you very rich,” Kiyosaki predicted. “Sure Bitcoin goes up and down….but so does real life.” Don’t Miss: Kiyosaki reiterated macro guru Raoul Pal’s much-discussed “Banana Zone” theory, which predicted a parabolic surge for Bitcoin. “Don’t be a yellow banana. Open your eyes and your mind,” Kiyosaki said. He encouraged his followers to listen to Bitcoin advocates like Pal, Michael Saylor and Anthony Pompliano to understand more about the asset’s dynamics. Why It Matters: Kiyosaki’s remarks come days after he predicted Bitcoin to hit $250,000 within this year, attributing it to a potential collapse of the central bank system. Last month, he warned about weakening consumer sentiment and a slowing U.S. economy, predicting a “greater depression.” While Kiyosaki is a strong supporter of Bitcoin, his predictions should be taken with a grain of salt. He previously projected Bitcoin to hit $100,000 in June 2024. The leading cryptocurrency eventually reached the historic milestone in December. He even forecast a $350,000 price target by August. 6. Moana Pasifika’s rise massive, says Wallabies great Moana Pasifika’s rise massive, says Wallabies great Whether they play Super Rugby Pacific finals or not, inaugural Moana Pasifika captain Sekope Kepu has declared the season a triumph for the Ardie Savea-led side. Moana play the biggest match in their four-year history when they face Savea’s former side, the Hurricanes, in a must-win game on Saturday. They currently hold the sixth and final play-offs spot but could be overtaken by the Blues or the NSW Waratahs. With All ******* superstar Savea signing on to honour his Samoan heritage, Moana have already banked six wins this season to eclipse their previous win record of four. In their first two seasons they only managed a total of three. Coached by New Zealand great Tana Umaga, they have taken the scalps of the defending champion Blues for the first time, as well as victories over the Hurricanes, Waratahs, Crusaders, the Highlanders and the Fijian Drua. That win-record makes the season already a success, according to retired Wallabies great Kepu, who led the team in their first season in 2022. “From year one, where we won one game … this year, beating a lot more New Zealand teams, there’s been improvements every year, and it’s already a win in my books,” the 39-year-old said. “They’ve won six games, beat the Blues, it’s been massive. “It’s just nice to see them start to bear some of that fruit and put pressure on teams and get wins over the teams that they weren’t expected to beat and it will continue to grow. Such has been loose forward Savea’s contribution that with an unbeatable lead he was declared Super Rugby Pacific player of the season with two rounds to play. Former tighthead Kepu, who played 110 Tests, said 2023 World Player of the Year Savea led by example and made players around him better. “Talking to them, he’s inspired a lot of those guys and having him in there has just been special for the group,” said Kepu, who was last week announced as an assistant coach for the historic First Nations & Pasifika Invitational XV, who will face the touring Lions in July. “The way he’s led the team has been unbelievable and it’s been unreal to watch their progress. “The boys, they see a leader, and they follow him and some of those guys I’ve watched develop – Miracle Fai’ilagi and Semisi Tupou Ta’eiloa – they’ve just been phenomenal as a backrow and they just follow the leader.” Source link #Moana #Pasifikas #rise #massive #Wallabies #great Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content]

  8. DC Politicos Know Trump Will Meet Anyone One-on-One for $5 Million, New Yorker Writer Says: ‘Shameless Transaction’ DC Politicos Know Trump Will Meet Anyone One-on-One for $5 Million, New Yorker Writer Says: ‘Shameless Transaction’ There is a price tag on talking one-on-one with President Donald Trump, and D.C. politicos apparently know it’s around $5 million, according to a staff writer for the New Yorker. In an interview with MSNBC, staff writer Evan Osnos explained that the sitting president has monetized the White House to a point that he said we’re experiencing a “politics of plunder because of the sheer flood of money that is swirling around the White House.” “It takes all kinds of forms, some of it is so flamboyant and in our face that it almost exhausts the public,” Osnos said. “When you hear about the jet you begin to wonder, does anyone out there even pay attention to this? But day in and day out in Washington, people who have been involved for years in the kind of – let’s call it normal pay-to-play politics – will tell you that this is completely outside anything that a president has ever been involved in. The sheer monetization of the White House is taking all kinds of forms.” “One of which is that government affairs executives in town are now quite aware of the fact that if you want to get a one-on-one conversation with the president, the price tag is $5 million. That may go to MAGA Inc. – the super PAC that is accumulating money for midterms – but the truth is, as one executive put it to me, we have no idea where that money goes, whether it’s in favor of your interests or against you. I think that what we’re seeing now is just a level of utter and shameless transaction.” Trump sparked a fervor in the news in May when he chose to accept a $400 million jet from Qatar as a gift to use as the new Air Force One. The news led to an outcry from many, concerns about safety from others, and jokes from many late night hosts. Stephen Colbert applauded the president’s baffling decision after it was announced. “After all these years, it’s nice that Donald Trump is still able to surprise us,” Colbert joked. “It’s kind of sweet how he keeps the nausea fresh!” “Because we all know he’s a sack of loose skin stuffed with greed, but I don’t think any of us expected him to accept a luxury 747 jet from Qatar for use as Air Force One,” he continued. 10. Scott Morrison warns China, Russia developing hi-tech space weapons Scott Morrison warns China, Russia developing hi-tech space weapons Australia should be looking to expand its defence capabilities in space due to threats posed by nuclear-armed foes, Scott Morrison says. The former prime minister is now the chairman of Space Centre Australia, which plans to set up a major space hub in Cape York. Mr Morrison said on Wednesday that while the West still had “quite a significant advantage over potential adversaries”, foes were swiftly progressing technologically. Camera IconFormer prime minister Scott Morrison says Australia should expand its defence capabilities in space due to threats posed by nuclear-armed foes. Richard Dobson / NewsWire Credit: News Corp Australia “Space is increasingly part of what we must now do in defence,” he told Sky News. “Back in 2020 we actually defined space as a war fighting domain and set our defence forces on the path to be able to participate.” Mr Morrison said there was “not a thing you do almost today, whether it’s on land or in sea or in air, that doesn’t depend on the assets and capabilities that you have in space”. “Currently, the US and its allies (have) a quite a significant advantage over potential adversaries, but you know that is changing,” he said. “We’re seeing what the ******** and Russians are doing. “There’s reports of even Russia having a nuclear anti-satellite weapon that they’ve been developing. “China has increasingly more manoeuverable satellites and developing much more sophisticated technologies, which enables them to use that to target movement of forces and other assets around the globe, through their missiles and other offensive weapons. “So space, whether we like it or not, is part of modern warfare.” Mr Morrison’s comments came after Donald Trump announced his plan for a “Golden Dome” to protect the US from potential nuclear attacks. %22https%3A//cue.wanews.com.au/webservice/thumbnail/article/18838563%22 The system, which the US President said he wanted built before the end of his term, would use ground-based interceptors and satellites to protect against hi-tech threats, including hypersonic missiles. Mr Morrison said he could see Australia playing a role in the dome’s development and even adopting the tech down the line. “It’s very possible that it could be extended to other allies and partners,” he said. “But I imagine the price on that would be pretty strong, certainly in the early phases. “But we can play a role, and that’s important because we’re allies.” The Trump administration has attached a $US175bn ($271.4bn) price-tag to the Golden Dome. Though, the US Congressional Budget Office has calculated it could cost $US831bn ($1.3 trillion) over two decades. Camera IconMr Morrison says space should be included in AUKUS Pillar III. Credit: BAE Systems Credit: Supplied Mr Morrison, a founder of AUKUS, also used a speech on Tuesday to call for space to be part of the defence pact’s third pillar. AUKUS Pillar I focused on submarines, with the US and *** sharing technology to build nuclear-powered boats in Australia. AUKUS Pillar II focused on enhancing trilateral co-operation on cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, autonomous systems and quantum technologies. Mr Morrison said a “strong argument can also be made that such initiatives could form the basis of Australia’s contribution to a new Pillar III for AUKUS which, as its founder, I would strongly support”. 12. 50 Cent gets a green light to seize a former employee’s home, then gets back to mocking Diddy 50 Cent gets a green light to seize a former employee’s home, then gets back to mocking Diddy Curtis Jackson III, a.k.a. 50 Cent, now has permission to seize the Connecticut home of a former employee who admitted embezzling from Sire Spirits, the rapper’s Cognac and Champagne company. (Amy Harris / Invision / Associated Press) Mess with 50 Cent and he might come for your house — even if it takes him a few years to do it. The rapper’s company Sire Spirits got the OK last week from a federal judge to seize the Connecticut home of former Sire executive Mitchell Green as partial payment toward a $7-million debt after a federal bankruptcy judge lifted an automatic stay that had prevented transfer of the property. Read more: 50 Cent apparently finds it hilarious that Gloria Allred’s client is suing him for alleged assault That took 50 Cent — real name Curtis Jackson III — and his legal team a little more than four years to accomplish, from when Green confessed to embezzling from his employer via a kickback scheme involving wholesalers until last week when the stay came off the house. Branson Cognac and Chemin du Roi Champagne, both owned by Jackson, are managed through Sire Spirits. Green admitted in February 2020 that he had been raising prices and getting kickbacks from wholesalers that were labeled “agency fees,” the New York Post reported in 2022 and 2023. Sire Spirits filed a request with the U.S. District Court, New York Southern, on Sept. 1, 2021, for confirmation of an arbitration agreement of a little less than $3.5 million in damages, according to court documents reviewed by The Times. Green had been embezzling from 2018 into 2020, when someone attempted to blackmail him over the $2.2 million in kickbacks, according to AllHipHop. At that point, Green told his employer what he’d done. Sire Spirits fired him and went into arbitration, which was settled in Sire’s favor. With attorney fees and legal costs rolled in, the November 2022 final judgment totaled around $6.3 million. Read more: Rapper Kid Cudi says his car was set on fire after Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs broke into his Hollywood Hills home In March 2023, the disgraced businessman filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection, which was still going on when Sire Spirits’ legal team secured a judgment lien against Green’s home in Westport, Conn., according to the court documents. Green’s legal team had been providing court-ordered updates on the status of the property, always stating that Green was still in bankruptcy proceedings and therefore still had that automatic stay protecting his home. But last week, Sire’s attorneys asked the bankruptcy judge to get rid of the stay, saying that Green had no equity in the home due to the size of the judgment against him and therefore the property didn’t need to be part of his liquidation. The judge agreed and lifted the stay. Story Continues The Connecticut home was appraised in late April at $1 million. That value will ultimately be credited against the judgment plus pre- and post-judgment interest, which now totals around $7 million. Read more: 50 Cent trolls Diddy’s son King Combs for diss track that refers to feds’ raids of homes Although Jackson has mentioned Branson Cognac recently on social media, he hasn’t said anything about the legal victory. In the last week, the rapper has been enjoying himself by poking fun at Sean “Diddy” Combs, a.k.a. “Puffy,” who is mired in a federal sex trafficking and conspiracy trial, where prosecution witnesses have been testifying. “Cut, CUT … Wait a minute PUFFY’s got a gun, I can’t believe this I don’t feel safe … LOL,” Jackson wrote Tuesday on social media, posting screen shots of new testimony from Combs’ former assistant Capricorn Clark. Clark told the court that Combs said something about guns that she took as him making a threat against Jackson. “Oh my goodness itty bitty Diddy wants me Dead,” the entrepreneur and provocateur said in a follow-up post. “I have to lay low, I think I’m gonna hide out at the playoff game tonight LOL.” He posted a comical picture of himself looking completely freaked out. 20. SpaceX Starship rocket launches after last two blew up SpaceX Starship rocket launches after last two blew up Starship, the futuristic SpaceX rocket vehicle on which Elon Musk’s ambitions for multi planetary travel are riding, has roared into the sky on its ninth uncrewed test launch, aiming for a clean flight after the last two attempts ended in explosive failure. The two-stage spacecraft, consisting of the Starship vessel mounted atop a towering SpaceX Super Heavy rocket booster, blasted off from the company’s Starbase launch site on the Gulf Coast of Texas near Brownsville. A live SpaceX webcast of the lift-off showed the rocketship rising from the launch tower into the early evening sky as the Super Heavy’s cluster of powerful Raptor engines thundered to life in a ball of flame and billowing clouds of exhaust and water vapour. SpaceX launched the Starship system with a previously flown Super Heavy booster for the first time, aiming to achieve a key demonstration of its reusability. The 71-metre first-stage booster will not attempt a return to its launch pad but target the Gulf of Mexico for a controlled splashdown. Federal regulators granted SpaceX a license for Starship’s latest flight attempt just four days ago, capping a mishap investigation that had grounded Starship for nearly two months. Its last two test flights – in January and March – were cut short moments after lift-off as the vehicle blew to pieces on its ascent, raining debris over parts of the Caribbean and disrupting scores of commercial airline flights in the region. The Federal Aviation Administration expanded debris hazard zones around the ascent path for Tuesday’s launch, the ninth full test flight of the Starship campaign. The previous back-to-back failures occurred in early test-flight phases that SpaceX had easily achieved before, dealing a striking setback to a program that Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur who founded the rocket company in 2002, had sought to accelerate this year. Musk, the world’s wealthiest individual and a key supporter of US President Donald Trump, was especially eager for a success after vowing in recent days to refocus his attention on his various business ventures, including SpaceX, following a tumultuous foray into national politics and his attempts at cutting government bureaucracy. Musk is counting on Starship to fulfil his goal of producing a large, multipurpose next-generation spacecraft capable of sending people and cargo to the moon later this decade and ultimately flying to Mars. Closer to home, Musk also sees Starship as eventually replacing the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as the workhorse in the company’s commercial launch business, which already lofts most of the world’s satellites and other payloads to low-Earth orbit. Musk was scheduled to deliver an update on his space exploration ambitions in a speech from Starbase following the test flight, to be livestreamed under the banner slogan The Road to Making Life Multiplanetary. He was expected to offer new timelines and development plans for sending cargo and potentially astronauts aboard Starship on voyages to Mars, a tantalising but still-distant future destination for human spaceflight that poses major technical hurdles for SpaceX and NASA. 24. Apple might be close to launching a dedicated hub for gaming on the Mac, iPhone, and iPad Apple might be close to launching a dedicated hub for gaming on the Mac, iPhone, and iPad Apple might push further into gaming with a dedicated hub on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV 4K It’ll be a showcase for new titles available directly for the platforms and through Apple Arcade. It’s rumored to be announced at WWDC 2025, right after the Nintendo Switch 2 launches Between Apple Arcade on the iPhone and iPad, as well as the resurgence of game support on the Mac since the debut of Apple Silicon, the Cupertino-based tech giant is eager to drive the growth of gaming across its various platforms. The adage that you can game on the Mac has extended to nearly all its other platforms aside from the Apple Watch. Now, a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicates that a dedicated app for video games will be announced soon for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV 4K streaming box. The report teases that it’ll arrive later in 2025 and that it will serve as a one-stop shop for gaming on these devices, offering easy access to the games themselves as well as “in-game achievements, leaderboards, communications, and other activity.” You may like (Image credit: Future) The hub will serve as a home for Apple Arcade titles, Apple’s $ 6.99-per-month service offering a variety of mostly family-friendly games. These titles will reside in this new app alongside editorial content, likely from the same team that supports the App Store, and it will replace Game Center. The latter has been a social network feature for game titles on the iPhone for quite some time, but never as a standalone app – instead, it would flash when you first open a game that supports it, or be accessible when you look for leaderboards. Considering the Mac is included as a platform, and this dedicated gaming app is supposedly being developed for it, it aligns with Apple’s broader push for the various Macs on the market to be seen as powerful gaming devices. Baldur’s Gate 3, Lies of P, Resident Evil 4, and Death Stranding, among many others, are some AAA titles that have launched for Apple Silicon, and Cyberpunk 2077 will eventually arrive. Given that the report states this dedicated app will also integrate with the Mac App Store, where many of these titles are sold, Apple could be positioning this as an alternative to Steam, making gaming more prominent and accessible on macOS. Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more. The report also describes “a Mac version of the app that can tap into games downloaded outside of the App Store” – a move that could appeal to gamers, developers, and publishers alike. It’ll be interesting to see if this dedicated app for these platforms arrives with a notable expansion of titles for Apple Arcade or some other bolstered features for the streaming services. Maybe, it’ll be the first time a AAA title gets bundled in, or rather, it’ll be announced alongside some other major titles launching on the Mac. A day and date release with other consoles has become more common, but it’s clear that more work needs to be done to get more games launching on the Mac and more people playing. The same could be said for the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV 4K, and even the Vision Pro – though the latter platform, visionOS, isn’t mentioned in the report as getting this dedicated app. (Image credit: Apple/Future) Bloomberg reports that while the gaming app will be announced at Apple’s 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference – set to kick off on June 9, 2025 – it won’t ship until September 2025, alongside the next version of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. Of course, these dates slip and Apple’s plan could change, so we’ll need to track WWDC to see what comes to fruition. The timing of this report and the rumored announcement at WWDC 2025 places it right before and immediately after the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, which is scheduled for June 5, 2025. It won’t be the only announcement that day, though. We’re already expecting iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 as well as the next generation of visionOS, macOS, and tvOS. This report also promises a new AI-powered battery tool to help stretch runtimes, new health capabilities, a redesigned Translate app, and, maybe most exciting, a live translation feature for AirPods. The latter would continue Apple’s tradition of rolling out significant software updates and features for its earbuds at no additional cost. If you’re keen for this dedicated gaming app or new platforms, the good news is that the opening keynote for WWDC 2025 is only 13 days away. 25. What’s it like to live and work in the Maldives, Bali, Cayman Islands What’s it like to live and work in the Maldives, Bali, Cayman Islands From the Maldives to Bali to the Cayman Islands, Marc LeBlanc and Laura Robinson have lived and worked in places that most people dream of visiting. They work in the hospitality industry — a journey that LeBlanc, who is *********, began at 16 years old when he accepted a job as a dishwasher at a hotel. He worked his way up to bellman, then to the reservations desk, before pursuing a degree in hotel management. Robinson, who is British, studied marine biology and worked as a diving instructor before transitioning to hotel leadership. The couple met while working in the Cayman Islands and have since lived and worked on several islands in Asia, including the small eastern Indonesian island of Sumba. Now they reside in Shinta Mani Wild, a luxury resort tucked away in Cambodia’s Cardamom Mountains, where LeBlanc serves as the hotel’s general manager, and Robinson oversees operations and sustainability. For starters, working in places like the Maldives — which is known for its “one island, one resort” concept — is different from visiting it, he told CNBC Travel. “You’re locked on that island, surrounded by water,” LeBlanc said. “You’re not really going anywhere … you’re kind of stuck there for long periods of time.” For employees, resort life centers on a staff village, where workers sleep, eat and do laundry — a situation LeBlanc likened to a summer camp. “It becomes a little community of its own,” Robinson said. “You still have the same challenges that having a large group of people living together can present. There are differences in personalities and opinions.” Managing those differences is important, she said, especially in places like the Maldives, which has a multicultural workforce. That has been easier at Shinta Mani, because “except a few of us, everyone is Cambodian,” she said. Many people think that working in hospitality is about ensuring guests are having a good time. But “you’ve got 100 [employees] that you’ve got to make sure are happy” too, she said. Robinson said she and LeBlanc celebrate staff birthdays and other events at the hotel. “Mark sometimes gets his decks out and DJs for them, which they adore,” she said. While island life spells sun and fun for most travelers, saltwater creates maintenance issues for those working behind the scenes, Robinson said. Robinson, pictured in the Cayman Islands, says her past work as a diving instructor prepared her to handle activities and experiences at the hotels that she and LeBlanc manage. Shinta Mani has 15 guest tents, but the resort sits on land that “is the size of Central Park,” and it requires a “very high-level of attention to detail, in terms of product and service, but also the conservation work that we do,” LeBlanc said. He said staff patrol the property, including a large farm on the land, while also maintaining the trails that run through it. “It’s new for us,” he said. “We’re learning.” Far from family Life in some of the world’s most coveted travel destinations has its perks, but LeBlanc and Robinson also contend with living far from their families. When they lived in the Maldives, their parents visited them yearly, and they returned home every other year to see siblings, said Robinson. Now the couple travel home every year, she said. “My brother and sister started having kids … and our parents are getting older.” The couple do not have children, so schooling — a big consideration for many expatriates — isn’t an issue. They recently adopted two dogs from the Cardamom Mountains forest, they said. Working together for nearly two decades LeBlanc and Robinson discussed another challenge: living and working in remote locations as a couple. “Initially you don’t know how it’s going to go,” said LeBlanc. But “we work quite well together.” Hiring couples to manage hotels makes sense for remote destinations, said LeBlanc. “We have each other,” he said. Source: Laura Robinson “We’re still doing it,” Robinson said with a laugh, adding that separate offices are key. As the general manager of Shinta Mani, LeBlanc oversees matters related to human resources, finance, security and engineering at the hotel, while Robinson handles more “front of house” matters, she said. “[Laura is] highly organized, highly efficient, and I’m more on the creative side,” LeBlanc said. Robinson said LeBlanc comes up with bold ideas and is skilled at executing them. The couple spend time, even on personal holidays, brainstorming ideas — often finding inspiration from their travels, she said. “There’s no shortage of places looking for managing couples,” LeBlanc said. “There are recruitment firms that specialize in hiring couples, not only for hotels, but also for private islands, for ultra-high net worth individuals. The job opportunities are out there.” In remote destinations, having a companion can ease loneliness too, said LeBlanc. “It makes sense we have each other,” he said.
