I used Veo 3 to recreate the first YouTube video, and the results are almost too good
We all know the story of the first YouTube video, a grainy 19-second clip of co-founder Jawed Karim at the zoo, remarking on the elephants behind him. That video was a pivotal moment in the digital space, and in some ways, it is a reflection, or at least an inverted mirror image, of today as we digest the arrival of Veo 3.
Part of Google Gemini, Veo 3 was unveiled at Google I/O 2025 and is the first generative video platform that can, with a single prompt, generate a video with synced dialogue, sound effects, and background noises. Most of these 8-second clips arrive in under 5 minutes after you enter the prompt.
I’ve been playing with Veo 3 for a couple of days, and for my latest challenge, I tried to go back to the beginning of social video and that YouTube “Me at the Zoo” moment. Specifically, I wondered if Veo 3 could recreate that video.
You may like
As I’ve written, the key to a good Veo 3 outcome is the prompt. Without detail and structure, Veo 3 tends to make the choices for you, and you usually don’t end up with what you want. For this experiment, I wondered how I could possibly describe all the details I wanted to derive from that short video and deliver them to Veo 3 in the form of a prompt. So, naturally, I turned to another AI.
Google Gemini 2.5 Pro is not currently capable of analyzing a URL, but Google AI Mode, the brand-new form of search that is quickly spreading across the US, is.
Here’s the prompt I dropped into Google’s AI Mode:
Google AI Mode almost instantly returned with a detailed description, which I took and dropped into the Gemini Veo 3 prompt field.
Sign up for breaking news, reviews, opinion, top tech deals, and more.
I did do some editing, mostly removing phrases like “The video appears…” and the final analysis at the end, but otherwise, I left most of it and added this at the top of the prompt:
“Let’s make a video based on these details. The output should be 4:3 ratio and look like it was shot on 8MM videotape.”
It took a while for Veo 3 to generate the video (I think the service is getting hammered right now), and, because it only creates 8-second chunks at a time, it was incomplete, cutting off the dialogue mid-sentence.
Still, the result is impressive. I wouldn’t say that the main character looks anything like Karim. To be fair, the prompt doesn’t describe, for instance, Karim’s haircut, the shape of his face, or his deep-set eyes. Google’s AI Mode’s description of his outfit was also probably insufficient. I’m sure it would have done a better job if I had fed it a screenshot of the original video.
Note to self: You can never offer enough detail in a generative prompt.
8 seconds at a time
The Veo 3 video zoo is nicer than the one Karim visited, and the elephants are much further away, though they are in motion back there.
Veo 3 got the film quality right, giving it a nice 2005 look, but not the 4:3 aspect ratio. It also added archaic and unnecessary labels at the top that thankfully disappear quickly. I realize now I should have removed the “Title” bit from my prompt.
The audio is particularly good. Dialogue syncs well with my main character and, if you listen closely, you’ll hear the background noises, as well.
The biggest issue is that this was only half of the brief YouTube video. I wanted a full recreation, so I decided to go back in with a much shorter prompt:
Continue with the same video and add him looking back at the elephants and then looking at the camera as he’s saying this dialogue:
“fronts and that’s that’s cool.” “And that’s pretty much all there is to say.”
Veo 3 complied with the setting and main character but lost some of the plot, dropping the old-school grainy video of the first generated clip. This means that when I present them together (as I do above), we lose considerable continuity. It’s like a film crew time jump, where they suddenly got a much better camera.
I’m also a bit frustrated that all my Veo 3 videos have nonsensical captions. I need to remember to ask Veo 3 to remove, hide, or put them outside the video frame.
I think about how hard it probably was for Karim to film, edit, and upload that first short video and how I just made essentially the same clip without the need for people, lighting, microphones, cameras, or elephants. I didn’t have to transfer footage from tape or even from an iPhone. I just conjured it out of an algorithm. We have truly stepped through the looking glass, my friends.
I did learn one other thing through this project. As a Google AI Pro member, I have two Veo 3 video generations per day. That means I can do this again tomorrow. Let me know in the comments what you’d like me to create.

Despite Signing off Metal Gear Solid, Hideo Kojima Is Still Speaking Its Language
Despite Signing off Metal Gear Solid, Hideo Kojima Is Still Speaking Its Language
Hideo Kojima marked his name as a legend after creating one of the greatest game franchises ever, Metal Gear. However, the greatness of the title went down in ruins once Kojima signed off the trademark to Konami. Allowing Konami to continue its business with the franchise altogether.
However, Metal Gear didn’t remain the same after Kojima left, which made fans yearn for an original from his studio. Initially, Kojima didn’t think of creating another Metal Gear game, as he technically couldn’t. However, he can create Physint, which has the DNA of his hit game franchise. You can take the man out, but not his ideas.
Hideo Kojima still thinks of Metal Gear and wants to give back in his own way
Why is Kojima so cryptic about all his ideas?! | Image Credit: Kojima Productions
Once Hideo Kojima made his own game studio, people quickly jumped in as they saw his name. Death Stranding was his first take after creating a new studio, which was a massive hit, and a sequel is coming too. There are other titles Kojima wants to release, like OD, a horror game, and Physint, the spiritual successor of Metal Gear.
Very little is known about Kojima’s other titles, and they may not be coming soon. However, Kojima has a good idea what they would be like. He did say it would be an “action-espionage game,” which restores some faith. He shared his mind with Edge Magazine (GamesRadar) and put forward some interesting details.
But when I became sick during the pandemic, I realised that a lot of people wanted me to make something like Metal Gear. That’s when I had the idea for a new espionage game. I reflected, and thought the idea was good.
Death Stranding was his initial focus while starting Kojima Productions. However, when he got very sick during the pandemic, he realized that his days were numbered, and people wanted another game like Metal Gear. Maybe his ideas are all there in the secret USB he left as a will to his assistant. It’s a bit sad to know, but people will get what he envisioned.
Currently, it is known that Kojima is producing the game with Sony, and they even agreed with his ideas for the new IP. This will be a multi-platform project that will keep the studio running for a long time. Not just that, he even specified that even though they’re a game company, they aren’t at the same time. He ended the interview with a statement, “This is phase two for Kojima Productions.”
What did Kojima mean by saying phase two?
Hideo Kojima has envisioned Physint as a title that “transcends the barriers between film and video games.” Kojima is known to be an avid fan of on-screen media and films, but he is also known to create groundbreaking games. So why not mix them both? That was probably what was going on in his mind.
It is pretty apparent that Kojima doesn’t want to stick to games; he wants to venture into other media. For instance, Kojima Productions is working to create an anime and live-action adaptation of Death Stranding. Thus, it is not bound by the title of the game production company.
So, will Physint be a game that is more of an interactive movie with fully playable “action-espionage” elements? Something like a mix of Detroit Become Human with Metal Gear? A story that will morph around player choices? It’s confusing when you’re not Hideo Kojima.
What do you think Physint would be like? Do you think Hideo Kojima will work on this title after finishing Death Stranding 2? Share your ideas and theories in the comments below!

Banksy reveals new artwork – but location remains a mystery
Banksy reveals new artwork – but location remains a mystery
Banksy’s latest piece of grafitti art has been revealed to the world – but where it was painted remains a mystery for now.
Images posted on the elusive artist‘s Instagram depict a lighthouse stencilled on a drab, beige wall, along with the words: “I want to be what you saw in me”.
A false shadow appears to have been drawn on the pavement from a nearby bollard, giving the illusion that the lighthouse is itself a silhouette of the mundane street furniture.
But unlike a lighthouse, the post gives little away as to the artwork’s location. A second, wider shot showing two people walking their dogs offers little more.
Geoguessers on social media have speculated that the street art may lurk in Marseille, in the south of France, while others debate how to interpret the work’s meaning.
Another image of the art circulating online shows a blurred person riding a scooter in front of the piece, with a graffiti tag seemingly reading “Yaze” further along the wall.
The tag matches that used by a ********* graffiti artist Marco The Polo, whose Instagram account features photos of his own work but who has called Banksy an inspiration.
Banksy has kept his true identity a secret throughout his career, and it is only through the Instagram account that works are identified as genuine.
Often imbuing his works with a political message, his previous pieces have alluded to immigration, the war in Ukraine and homelessness, among other things.
The meaning of some of his works, though, is less clear – such as his motivation behind the series of animals painted in various locations across London last summer.
Prior to the lighthouse, in December, Banksy posted another piece, depicting a Madonna and child with a fixture in the wall appearing like a bullet wound in her chest.

ThredUp Stock Reverses on AI Buzz, Eyes Double-Digit Gains
ThredUp Stock Reverses on AI Buzz, Eyes Double-Digit Gains
ThredUp (NASDAQ:) is not a technology company per se, nor an AI-specific play, but it is a poster child representing what AI can do for a business. At face value, the lean into AI, including front- and back-of-house operations, has lifted the stock’s price from penny stock territory, gaining roughly 1,000% in less than 12 months, and has it on track to double again in the coming quarters.
So what does ThredUp have to do with AI? ThredUp utilizes AI’s data-driven insights to automate back-end procedures, enhance the inspection process, and attract, manage, and engage with clients for its resale business. Tools introduced in 2024 include Image Search, Virtual Stylist, and Personalized Recommendations.
The Image Search allows users to upload pictures and have ThredUp’s platform seek, find, and display similar fashion items. The Virtual Stylist is a chat feature that provides recommendations based on customer inputs, and Personalized Recommendations utilize the full range of data to offer a personalized shopping experience for each client.
The technical action in late May is robust, bearing the hallmarks of a Bullish Flag Pattern that suggests this market is just getting started. The stock price could rise by another $7 in this scenario and continue to rise, assuming, of course, that the business remains healthy.
ThredUp Divests European Business, Focuses on U.S. Operations
Among the highlights from ThredUp’s 2024 is the divestiture of its European retail operations. The company sold more than 90% of the stake, choosing to focus on its U.S. operations, which was a timely move. ThredUp is viewed as a tariff beneficiary because consumers can use its platform to find products that are already in the U.S. and not exposed to higher pricing.
The impact of AI is also noticeable in the results. Although the headline revenue in Q1 is down 10% year-over-year (YOY), the core, ongoing business grew by 10%, outpacing consensus, and the operating losses are narrowing.
Revenue strength was driven by a 6% increase in active buyers, a 16% increase in orders, and a stunning 95% increase in new active buyers, a company record.
Margin is another area of strength aided by AI. The company’s gross margin contracted slightly compared to last year but remains robust at nearly 80%, while the operating metrics improved. The adjusted EBITDA margin improved by 240 basis points, significantly increasing core profitability and reducing reported losses.
The critical detail is that the comprehensive losses contracted by more than 65%, leaving the company on track to reach GAAP profitability before the decade’s end.
The guidance is central to ThredUp’s stock price outlook. The company raised its guidance for the year, including a forecast for 10% growth in Q2 and the remainder of the *******. The guidance is likely cautious due to the impacts of AI on customer engagement, retention, and spending habits, so investors may see improvements as the year progresses.
Analysts’ Interest in TDUP Stock Is Reinvigorated: Upgrade Cycle to Come
The primary takeaway from the analyst activity in 2024 and 2025 is that ailing business performance led to dwindling coverage, eventually to nothing, setting the market up for a sentiment shift sparked by the FQ1 release. The release catalyzed two positive revisions from analysts who rate this stock as an Outperform/Overweight.
They set a target of roughly $7 for the stock, which is fair value relative to the late May price points, but are likely the first in what will be a string of positive news.
The opportunity for investors is to get into this AI-powered recovery/rebound story before analysts’ momentum builds and they lead the retail stock price to new highs.

Breakthrough in missing mum mystery after three decades
Breakthrough in missing mum mystery after three decades
A man has been charged over the suspicious disappearance of a mother more than three decades ago after the re-opening of the cold case.
Pauline Sowry, 49, went missing in 1993 from Wollongong, south of Sydney, and her whereabouts remain unknown.
An inquest in 2008 found she had died, most likely after an unconfirmed sighting in 1994.
Police strike force Anthea was formed in 2022 to re-examine the circumstances of the case, leading to the arrest of a Wollongong man, 64, on Thursday.
He’s now been charged with accessory after the fact to ******* and conceal serious indictable offence, and refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Friday.
Ms Sowry’s son, Jason Lawrence, said it had been a long time coming for the family to breathe a sigh of relief.
“We have waited more than 30 years to hear today’s news,” he said in a statement shared by police.
“We miss her every day and her disappearance has taken a huge toll on myself and our entire family.
“We thank the police officers for never giving up hope and we look forward to the outcome of this investigation.”
Southern Region Assistant Commissioner Joe Cassar said police worked tirelessly to close the case.
The NSW government offered a $500,000 reward in March 2024 for any information about Ms Sowry’s disappearance.
Local officers conducted three searches as part of their investigation in 2023 and 2024 and found items of clothing belonging to Ms Sowry, who also went by her married name Pauline Lawrence.
“During last year’s renewed appeal for information, I made a promise that the NSW Police would leave no stone unturned to seek a resolution,” Mr Cassar said.
“The persistence and effort by my officers has resulted in today’s arrest.
“I commend the tireless commitment of our officers in finding answers for Pauline’s family and they continue to work hard to bring this matter before the courts.”

5 Reasons Delta Force Is What Battlefield 2042 Was Supposed to Be
5 Reasons Delta Force Is What Battlefield 2042 Was Supposed to Be
TiMi J3 Studio’s Delta Force was released last month for Windows PC, iOS, and Android devices. It quickly became one of the most popular FPS video games in the world, leaving everyone wondering if the game would be able to dethrone popular franchises like Call of Duty and Battlefield. It’s hard to say if Delta Force will be able to take down those franchises, but in some ways, the game is better than a few AAA FPS titles, for example, Battlefield 2042.
In many ways, Delta Force is much better than EA’s latest Battlefield game, Battlefield 2042. The expectations were quite high, given how popular the franchise is; however, the game turned out to be a complete disappointment. Here are five things that Delta Force does better than Battlefield 2042.
1) Authentic tactical gameplay
The gaming experience in Delta Force feels more authentic (Image via TiMi J3 Studio)
Before its release, Battlefield 2042 promised a slower and more immersive squad-based tactical gameplay experience, but once it reached players, the experience was quite underwhelming. The game featured new features and improvements, but they were just not enough to satisfy the players.
Delta Force certainly took notes, as it provides an authentic tactical gameplay instead of a chaotic arcade action. The game offers a realistic and grounded military experience that fans of the FPS genre have been seeking for a while now.
2) Classic military setting
Delta Force‘s modern setting feels perfect and immersive (Image via TiMi J3 Studio)
One thing that Battlefield 2042 messed up was its vague near-future world setting. In many ways, the setting felt shallow, plus the minimal storytelling and unrealistic gadgets broke immersion and gameplay balance. The futuristic warfare setting felt weak and copied.
Delta Force‘s setting is one of the main reasons behind its success. The studios understood what players were looking for, and the game featured gritty modern warfare roots. This setting in Delta Force feels realistic and is exactly what the Battlefield franchise was known for before 2042.
3) No hero shooter gimmicks
Delta Force features a traditional class-based system (Image via TiMi J3 Studio)
It’s no secret that most developers are integrating microtransactions into their games by adopting battle pass systems and adding skins, patterns, etc. Battlefield 2042 also tried to copy what other games were doing, and as a result, the game had an arcade-style hero shooter format.
Unlike 2042‘s specialists concept, Delta Force went back to class-based roles. Using modern-day weapons in present-day locations makes the game quite immersive and exciting. Most FPS fans are looking for the experience that the late 2000s and early 2010s FPS games provided, and Delta Force does exactly that.
4) Revival of classic modes
Delta Force features some exciting large-scale maps (Image via TiMi J3 Studio)
Delta Force features a game mode called Havoc Warfare, which is reminiscent of Battlefield’s classic Conquest game mode. It is a large-scale PvP mode, where players compete as part of a large team on a massive map, but once again, Delta Force excels because of its modern-day setting.
Apart from this, the game features Hazard Operations and the ****** Hawk Down campaign. Hazard Operations started out as an extraction mode, similar to Escape from Tarkov, but it has become a variety of modes.
The gameplay in Operations is more tactical, as it features longer ability cooldowns, injuries, etc. This mode also features PvE missions and a 3v3v3 PvP game mode.
5) Destructible environments
The destructible environment in Delta Force makes the game feel immersive (Image via TiMi J3 Studio)
Without a doubt, destructible environments play a key role in making FPS shooters exciting. With explosions and bullets flying all over the place, it makes sense to have the items on the map fly around. Battlefield games did have destructible environments; in fact, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 4 are two of the few FPS games that are widely praised for their exceptional destruction mechanics.
Considering Battlefield 2042 was a “next-gen” game, its destructible environment was significantly less than what players saw in previous Battlefield titles. Delta Force does this exceptionally well as its destructible environments create a very immersive gaming experience.

Smoke to pour into the US as Canada wildfires force province’s largest evacuation in ‘living memory’
Smoke to pour into the US as Canada wildfires force province’s largest evacuation in ‘living memory’
Massive wildfires burning out of control in western and central Canada are forcing thousands to flee as dire forecasts for the country’s fire season come to fruition. The intensifying blazes are also beginning to send hazardous smoke toward major cities in the United States.
The premier of Manitoba declared a state of emergency Wednesday and much of Canada, from the Northwest Territories and Alberta to Quebec, are at “extreme” risk of wildfires on Thursday—the highest level on Environment Canada’s fire risk scale.
There are just over 160 wildfires burning across Canada as of Thursday, according to the ********* Interagency Forest Fire Center, and about half are uncontrolled. The country raised its National Preparedness Level to level 4 of 5 on Tuesday, which is unusually high for this early in the fire season. Last year, Canada didn’t reach that level until July.
In Manitoba, around 17,000 people are under evacuation orders, including the city of Flin Flon, Pimicikamak Cree Nation and the northern community of Cross Lake, along with Mathias Colomb Cree Nation, according to CNN’s ********* news partner CBC News.
The province’s state of emergency will remain in effect for a month and may be extended if conditions warrant, said Manitoba Premier **** Kinew.
“This is a moment of fear and uncertainty. This is a moment of concern,” Kinew said, acknowledging this is the largest evacuation order in “in most people’s living memory.”
“But I want to tell you that your fellow Manitobans will welcome you. We will get through this difficult *******, and we’ll get through this trying ******* the way that we always do: by working together.”
Smoke rises from wildfire WE024 in Manitoba, Canada, May 27, 2025. – Manitoba Government/Handout/Reuters
Wildfires have forced thousands of evacuations in neighboring Saskatchewan as well, CBC reported. First Nations leaders are calling on the provincial government to declare a state of emergency there, too, noting “deep concerns” over resources to battle the fires.
Climate change is leading to an increase in wildfire risk days, as well as more frequent and larger fires that exhibit more extreme wildfire behavior.
Canada had its worst wildfire season on record in 2023, when extreme heat and drought helped propel blazes that burned more than 45 million acres. Last year’s fire season was Canada’s second-worst of the century. Some of those blazes also sent thick, hazardous smoke into US cities.
This year, wildfires have burned more than 1.58 million acres in Canada so far, about 40% above the 10-year average for this point in the year.
Nearly 90% of the acreage burned has been in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, though there are many ongoing blazes in British Columbia and Alberta as well, where some evacuations are underway. Fires this year have burned 490,000 acres burned in Manitoba, which is about four times the average for this time of year, according to the ********* Interagency Forest Fire Center.
Hazardous smoke to stream across the border
A satellite image shows smoke rising from wildfires in Manitoba, Canada, on May 27, 2025. – European Union/Copernicus Sentin/Handout/Reuters
Computer models show that smoke from the western ********* blazes will reach the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes Thursday and Friday, potentially affecting the cities of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Chicago and Detroit.
The smoke will likely be in the lower to middle levels of the atmosphere, which could lower visibility and crater air quality in some areas.
Authorities in Minnesota have already issued an air quality alert beginning Thursday for northeastern parts of the state, warning that fine particle levels are expected to reach “a level considered unhealthy for everyone.” A similar alert is in effect in northern Michigan for Friday.
Some of the mid-and-low-level smoke could linger through the weekend in parts of the Midwest, according to the National Weather Service, while projections show a high-level smoke plume plunging even further south across the Plains.
High-level smoke – which doesn’t affect air quality – is beginning to spread across the Northern Plains, shielding the sun slightly and potentially creating vibrant sunrises and sunsets.
More smoky days could be ahead for millions this summer. Canada’s seasonal wildfire forecast called for well above-average blazes, and much of the western US, too, will have above-normal wildfire potential by July, according to National Interagency Fire Center forecasts.
CNN Meteorologist Brandon Miller contributed to this report.

‘There’s too much tennis’: ****** wants shorter schedule
‘There’s too much tennis’: ****** wants shorter schedule
Alex de Minaur has joined the chorus of tennis voices calling for the crowded men’s tennis schedule to be shortened, warning that players are in danger of having their careers ended early with physical and mental burn-out.
His lament came on the day when he cited his own mental fatigue during his surprise exit at Roland Garros to Alexander Bublik on Thursday, and while his *********** colleague Adam Walton was having to battle with a shoulder injury in his loss to Andrey Rublev.
De Minaur then chose the moment to launched a wider broadside about the state of the men’s ATP tour program, echoing the complaints kicked off by his Sydney colleague Jordan Thompson earlier in the week.
“No-one’s got a solution,” said de Minaur, admitting the tour grind was affecting him after his 2-6 2-6 6-4 6-3 6-2 loss.
“But the solution is simple: you shorten the schedule, right?
“What’s not normal is that for the last three, four years I’ve had two days off after the Davis Cup and I’ve gone straight into pre-season, straight into the new season again,” said de Minaur of the gruelling program that kicked off with the United Cup in December, 33 days after the Davis Cup Finals ended.
“Once you start, you don’t finish until November 24. So it’s never-ending. The way it’s structured … I had to deal with that. I’m still dealing with that right now.
“The solution is you shorten, because what’s going to happen is players’ careers are going to get shorter and shorter because they’re just going to burn out mentally. There’s just too much tennis.”
Thompson, who has been battling on all season with three injuries which he believes have only been exacerbated by the ceaseless tour grind, had earlier described the ATP schedule as “*****” and “just a joke”.
Two-time French Open finalist Casper Ruud also picked up the theme after his own injury-hampered defeat to Nuno Borges on Wednesday as he likened the ATP’s ranking system to a “rat race” with players feeling compelled to compete in the men’s tour’s mandatory events even if they are carrying injuries.
“You feel you’re obligated to play with certain rules that the ATP have set up with the mandatory events. You feel like you lose a lot if you don’t show up and play … the punishments are quite hard, in terms of everyone else will play, gain points, and you won’t.
“If you don’t play a mandatory event, they cut 25 per cent of your year-end bonus.
“You’re forcing players to show up injured or sick, or whatever, when that’s not what I think is very fair.”
Brisbane’s Walton admitted after his straight-sets defeat that he was still battling on with an arm injury “that’s not great”.
“The season’s pretty relentless. I don’t have the luxury, like some of the top players, in being able to play less. I guess if you’re good enough, you don’t have to play as much to collect points, right?” said the world No.91.
“So in order for me to collect all the points, I’ve got to play a lot. I don’t have a solution, but yes, it is very taxing on the body.”

White House acknowledges problems in RFK Jr.’s MAHA report
White House acknowledges problems in RFK Jr.’s MAHA report
WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House will fix errors in a much-anticipated federal government report spearheaded by U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., which decried America’s food supply, pesticides and prescription drugs.
Kennedy’s wide-ranging “Make America Healthy Again” report, released last week, cited hundreds of studies, but a closer look by the news organization NOTUS found that some of those studies did not actually exist.
Asked about the report’s problems, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the report will be updated.
“I understand there was some formatting issues with the MAHA report that are being addressed and the report will be updated.” Leavitt told reporters during her briefing. “But it does not negate the substance of the report, which, as you know, is one of the most transformative health reports that has ever been released by the federal government.
Kennedy has repeatedly said he would bring “radical transparency” and “gold-standard” science to the public health agencies. But the secretary refused to release details about who authored the 72-page report, which calls for increased scrutiny of the childhood vaccine schedule and describes the nation’s children as overmedicated and undernourished.
Leavitt said that the White House has “complete confidence” in Kennedy.
“Minor citation and formatting errors have been corrected,” HHS Spokesman Andrew Nixon said in an emailed statement. He described the report as a “historic and transformative assessment by the federal government to understand the chronic disease epidemic afflicting our nation’s children.”
NOTUS reported on Thursday morning that seven of the more than 500 studies cited in the report did not appear to have ever been published. An author of one study confirmed that while she conducted research on the topics of anxiety in children, she never authored the report listed. Some studies were also misinterpreted in the MAHA report. The problematic citations were on topics around children’s screen time, medication use and anxiety.
Kennedy’s MAHA report had already been stoking concerns among Trump loyalists, including farmers who criticized how the report characterized the chemicals sprayed on U.S. crops.
The report is supposed to be used to develop policy recommendations that will be released later this year. The White House has requested a $500 million boost in funding from Congress for Kennedy’s MAHA initiative.

United player explains obscene gesture as woes continue
United player explains obscene gesture as woes continue
Manchester United winger Amad Diallo says he doesn’t regret making what appeared to be an obscene gesture toward some fans in Malaysia because his mother allegedly had been insulted.
Footage shared widely on social media appeared to show the 22-year-old Ivory Coast international raising his middle finger while outside a hotel with his teammates in Kuala Lumpur earlier this week.
“I have respect for people but not for the one who insults my mom,” Amad wrote on X. “I shouldn’t have reacted like that but I don’t regret what I did. We had a great time in Malaysia with good people.”
United did not respond to a request for comment.
The team’s post-season Asia tour had already got off to a bad start when United lost their friendly against a South East Asian All-Star team 1-0 in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday. Some fans booed in response.
Even Malaysian prime minister Anwar Ibrahim was disappointed, suggesting United could be relegated after watching the team lose, despite the fact their performance was probably affected by jet lag.
“Ouch. Man United failed to win another trophy,” Ibrahim, one of 72,500 fans at Bukit Jalil Stadium in the Malaysian capital, wrote on social media in a post translated from Malay.
“Looks like you’re in for another tough season, hope you don’t drop to the Championship,” he added, referring to England’s second tier.
United have travelled on to Hong Kong for another friendly on Friday.
“We were not really focused in the last game, and everybody can feel it,” United manager Ruben Amorim said on Thursday. “We just want to turn the page and improve in the next season.”
United finished 15th in the Premier League, their lowest-ever ranking in the competition, when the season concluded on Sunday, just four days after a loss in the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur.

Expedition 33’s Stylish Edge? Thank Creative Director and Persona 5 Superfan Guillaume Broche
Expedition 33’s Stylish Edge? Thank Creative Director and Persona 5 Superfan Guillaume Broche
It’s fair to say that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the biggest success stories of 2025. It’s a turn-based RPG developed by Sandfall Interactive, featuring a dark fantasy setting that serves as a stunning backdrop for the expedition’s task to take over the Paintress.
Right upon its release, Expedition 33 achieved acclaim from both critics and gamers alike. It has shipped millions of units so far and continues to break records. One of the most unique aspects of the RPG is its design language, developed under the studio’s Creative Director, Guillaume Broche, who’s a big-time fan of Persona 5.
How Guillaume Broche’s love for Persona 5 shaped Expedition 33
When you first dive into Expedition 33, you will immediately notice its turn-based combat that feels similar to modern Persona games. There’s everything: cinematic camera movement, straightforward UI that assigns actions to various buttons, and other options.
While chatting with Denfaminicogamer, Broche confirmed that Expedition 33‘s design style is intentionally similar to Persona 5. He has revealed that the 2016 JRPG is part of a long list of games that helped inspire him to make Expedition 33.
According to Broche, Persona 5 can be considered one of the best games out there when it comes to UI and combat visuals. He highlighted the dynamic camera movements with each player’s action, which felt like watching a movie. This made a huge impact on his creative thought.
Persona 5 was a big source of inspiration for Guillaume Broche. (Image via *****)
Inspired by these aspects, Broche decided to bring Persona 5‘s dynamic combat camera into Expedition 33, but with his own unique twist. The game’s UI clearly reflects the Persona 5 influence, but Broche stated that he’s not fully satisfied with it. He believes there’s so much more that can be integrated from Persona 5‘s design.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has hit a major milestone
The game continues to make waves. (Image via Sandfall Interactive)
One glance at the title “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” itself tells how much number 33 matters to the development team. That’s why hitting 3.3 million units exactly after 33 days isn’t just a chance. Even Sandfall can’t make this up.
Expedition 33‘s success so far is nothing short of extraordinary. Even French President Emmanuel Macron has praised this RPO! For Sandfall, this journey is like a dream fulfilled.
Thirty-three days ago, we released Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Since then, we’ve sold 3.3 million copies.
Seriously. As of today. We couldn’t make that up.
Another entry on the long list of surreal moments that your support has made real. Thank you ALL.
Tomorrow comes. pic.twitter.com/OclgkZAtgP
— Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (@expedition33) May 27, 2025
The title had previously hit the two million sales mark on day twelve, which meant that the title sold a million copies on average in a week. Let’s not forget the fact that it’s also a day-one Xbox Game Pass release, which makes these numbers even more impressive.
It’s already been confirmed that Sandfall will make a DLC at some point for the RPG. Once that’s out, we’re likely to see the title continue this strong momentum and bring even more players to experience.
With that said, are you enjoying Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? Let us know in the comments below.

Dan Bongino cries to Fox News about how much he hates his new FBI job: ‘I gave up everything!’
Dan Bongino cries to Fox News about how much he hates his new FBI job: ‘I gave up everything!’
Appearances on Fox News aren’t doing the FBI’s two top officials any favors.
Dan Bongino lamented Thursday morning about how unhappy he’s become now that he’s the bureau’s deputy director, complaining that he “gave up everything” to take the job in what at times felt like a therapy session on the Fox & Friends couch.
But the griping about the office from the FBI’s second-most-powerful drew heaps of trolling online.
“Dan Bongino has a nice cry on Fox & Friends,” liberal influencer Aaron Ruper snarked while posting a clip of the one-time podcaster’s complaints.
“He gave up a podcast and has been on the job for a few weeks,” pundit Amanda Carpenter reacted on social media. “There are many qualified people who will gladly and expertly fill this job if Bongino can’t handle it.”
Bongino’s apparent self-martyring on the right-wing network that he used to call home came the morning after his boss, Kash Patel, sat down for an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier, which featured the FBI director drawing online mockery for the comically high chairs they sat in that left his feet dangling well above the floor compared to the host’s that reached the ground.
FBI deputy director Dan Bongino complains that he “gave up everything” to work for the Trump administration, adding that he doesn’t like his job. (Fox News)
‘Kash Patel height’ memes enused.
Meanwhile, the back-to-back Fox News interviews for the two FBI leaders come as they’ve faced increasing MAGA fury for insisting that disgraced ******* predator Jeffrey Epstein did indeed commit suicide, which has prompted right-wing conspiracists to hammer them for failing to keep their promises to expose the “truth” about his death. Especially since both Patel and Bongino had helped promote those very conspiracies around Epstein.
Amid the conservative backlash, Bongino announced earlier this week that the FBI would be stepping up its efforts to investigate several cases that have long received outsized attention in right-wing media and have launched a series of conspiracy theories.
Specifically, he noted that the bureau would look deeper into the discovery of a small bag of ******** in the Biden White House, the undetonated pipe bombs found at the January 6 Capitol attack, and the leak of the Supreme Court decision overturning abortion.
During his interview with Baier, Patel seemed to directly appeal to impatient MAGA supporters by promising a “definitive answer” to questions surrounding the involvement of the FBI during the January 6 riots, claiming the results may “surprise and shock people because of what past FBI leaders have said about it.”
According to an inspector general’s report last year, 26 confidential human sources were present during the riots, but only three were assigned by the FBI to be there. Meanwhile, no agents were present, according to the report. A number of prominent MAGA media figures, including Patel himself, have pushed the baseless theory that the FBI orchestrated the attempted Capitol insurrection.
Bongino, a former Fox News host who left his successful podcast and radio show to take the FBI job, repeatedly bemoaned how difficult his life has become during his Fox & Friends interview on Thursday.
Dan Bongino tells Fox & Friends that he misses being a podcaster while complaining about how hard his job is at the FBI. (Fox News)
“The biggest lifestyle change is family-wise,” he sighed at the top of the lengthy conversation, adding that he was answering the president’s call to serve his country.
“It was a lot, and it’s been tough on the family. People ask all the time, do you like it? No. I don’t,” Bongino continued. “But the president didn’t ask me to do this to like it – nobody likes going into an organization like that and having to make big changes.”
He went on to describe a woman telling him that she missed him and his show. “I miss me too,” Bongino claimed he told the woman. “Part of you dies when you see this stuff behind the scenes.”
At one point in the interview, Bongino wanted the Fox News audience to know that he has hard evidence to prove that Epstein killed himself, promising that the FBI would soon release footage that made it “clear as day” that there was no conspiratorial ******* of the financier.
“I’m just telling you what we see in the file,” he declared. “I want to be crystal clear on this. I am not asking anyone to believe me, I’m telling you what is there and what isn’t.”
Towards the end of his appearance, Bongino appeared to get emotional as he pushed back against the criticism he’s received from conservative circles about the perceived lack of results on his end.
“If you think we have not taken appropriate action against political actors, they are just making that up. We can’t advertise this stuff,” he griped. “If you think we’re allowing partisanship to infiltrate the FBI and let bad stuff happen, you’re really just making it up… maybe you’re trying to breed mistrust.”
He then concluded his time on the curvy couch by bemoaning what his life had become during the few weeks he’s spent as the second in command at the FBI.
“I gave up everything for this. I mean, you know, my wife is struggling,” he bleated. “I stare at these four walls all day in DC, you know, by myself, divorced from my wife. Not divorced, but I mean, separated. And it’s hard. We love each other, but it’s hard to be apart.”
Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade, meanwhile, made a point of reassuring Bongino that he’s “doing some great work” as they signed off, seemingly giving him a boost of encouragement.

Trump tariffs reinstated by appeals court for now
Trump tariffs reinstated by appeals court for now
A federal appeals court on Thursday granted the Trump administration’s request to temporarily pause a lower-court ruling that struck down most of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
The Trump administration had earlier told the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit that it would seek “emergency relief” from the Supreme Court as soon as Friday if the tariff ruling was not quickly put on pause.
The judgment issued Wednesday night by the U.S. Court of International Trade is “temporarily stayed until further notice while this court considers the motions papers,” the appeals court said in its order.
The pause gives the Trump administration some breathing room as it prepares to argue that the trade court’s ruling should be halted for the duration of the appeals process.
The appeals court gave the plaintiffs — a group that includes state attorneys general and a handful of domestic businesses — one week to respond to the administration’s bid for a stay pending appeal. The U.S. will be able to reply to that response by June 9.
“This is merely a procedural step as the court considers the government’s request for a longer stay pending appeal,” said Jeffrey Schwab, a lawyer for the business plaintiffs, in a statement.
“We are confident the Federal Circuit will ultimately deny the government’s motion shortly thereafter, recognizing the irreparable harm these tariffs inflict on our clients,” Schwab said.
The three-judge trade court panel — which included a Trump appointee — had invalidated all of Trump’s “reciprocal” tariffs and other duties.
The judges found that the 1970s-era law Trump had invoked to enact those tariffs, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, does not “confer such unbounded authority” to presidents.
The nationwide, permanent block they imposed covered all of the retaliatory tariffs that Trump issued in early April as part of his sweeping “liberation day” plan to reshape international trade with the rest of the world.
The ruling also barred the administration from making any future modifications to the tariffs in question. The court gave the administration 10 days to make the necessary changes to carry out the orders.
The government filed a notice of appeal shortly after the judgment came down. It asked the trade court to pause any enforcement of their ruling while the appeal process played out, while also seeking “at least interim relief” from the federal appellate court.
At the same time, the Trump administration aimed a barrage of criticism at the trade-court judges, accusing them of bias and abusing their power.
“The Supreme Court must put an end to this,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Thursday afternoon. “These judges are threatening to undermine the credibility of the United States on the world stage.”
“We are living under a judicial tyranny,” White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller wrote Thursday morning in response to the ruling, escalating his initial claim that “the judicial coup is out of control.”

Shares of Dell Technologies rose 10% on Thursday after the company raised its full-year earnings forecast and issued a stronger-than-expected forecast for the current quarter.
However, Dell’s adjusted earnings per share came up short versus LSEG estimates on in-line revenue.
Here’s how the computer maker did versus LSEG consensus estimates:
Earnings per share: $1.55 adjusted vs. $1.69 estimatedRevenue: $23.38 billion vs. $23.14 billion estimated
Dell said it expects $2.25 in adjusted earnings per share for the current quarter, with between $28.5 billion and $29.5 billion in revenue. That was significantly higher than LSEG expectations.
Company officials attributed the strong guidance to $7 billion in artificial intelligence systems that are expected to ship during the quarter, which are higher-margin than other Dell systems.
For the full year, Dell still expects about $103 billion in revenue, in line with LSEG expectations, but it raised its forecast for full-year adjusted earnings to $9.40, which was a 10 cent increase from the company’s prior outlook.
Dell is one of Nvidia’s primary vendors that builds systems around the chipmaker’s AI graphics processing units. Dell said on Thursday that it was seeing “unprecedented demand” for AI systems, especially for second-tier cloud providers, such as Coreweave.
Texas-based Dell said that it has $14.4 billion in confirmed orders for AI systems in its backlog that will ship in the coming quarters. It recorded $12.1 billion in confirmed AI orders during the first quarter, the company said. These numbers will turn into recorded revenue when Dell ships the system to its clients. In February, Dell said it expected $15 billion in AI server sales during its fiscal 2026, up from $10 billion last year.
Overall, Dell’s revenue grew 5% on an annual basis. It said it expects revenue to grow 8% during the fiscal year.
Dell’s server business is reported as part of its Infrastructure Solutions Group, which had $10.3 billion in sales during the quarter, a 12% rise. Of that, $6.3 billion was sales for servers and networking, and $4 billion was for computers that store data.
The company’s laptop and PC business, its Client Solutions Group, recorded $12.5 billion in sales as the global PC market is expected to recover this year after several slumping years.
The computer maker also said it significantly stepped up its shareholder capital return during the quarter, spending $2.4 billion on share repurchases and dividends during the *******. It spent $2.58 billion on share repurchases for all of its fiscal 2025, which ended in January.

Revenue for the quarter reached $108.7 million, edging out estimates of $108.53 million and marking a robust 26% increase compared to $86.6 million in the same ******* last year.
The company’s subscription revenue, which forms the backbone of its business model, grew 9% year-over-year to $87.3 million, representing 80% of total quarterly revenue. When combined with prioritized engineering services, this recurring revenue stream totaled $104.4 million, up 22% year-over-year and accounting for 96% of total revenue. This dramatic price movement reflects investor enthusiasm for the company’s diversification strategy and partnership expansion. Looking ahead, C3.ai provided fiscal 2026 revenue guidance of $447.5-$484.5 million, slightly above the analyst consensus of $466 million, suggesting continued momentum into the new fiscal year.
The positive market reaction was further amplified by key business developments, including the expanded Baker Hughes partnership through 2028 and a significant $450 million contract ceiling increase from the U.S. Air Force for the PANDA predictive maintenance platform, demonstrating the company’s growing traction in both commercial and government markets.

Game Quality Isn’t Tied to Development Length, Says Strange Scaffold Founder
Game Quality Isn’t Tied to Development Length, Says Strange Scaffold Founder
It’s fair to say that video games aren’t just a niche hobby industry anymore. It’s one of the most lucrative entertainment businesses out there. While games early in the medium’s history were developed in a matter of months, most modern titles take at least two or three years to realize.
Unfortunately, fans waiting for new games get stuck on the same project for years. There’s this idea that a long development cycle will result in a quality game that keeps players waiting patiently. However, Strange Scaffold’s founder believes that a long development ******* doesn’t automatically guarantee a successful game.
More development time isn’t a sign of a successful game
When we talk about the most interesting game developers that are making waves in this decade, the first name would obviously be Strange Scaffold. It’s given us 12 games in just five years of the 2020s and has tons more projects on the horizon. All of these titles showcase unmatched creativity and variety.
Recently, GamesRadar+ had the opportunity to speak with the studio’s boss, Xalavier Nelson Jr., about video game development. During the interview, he challenged the unusual belief that longer development time leads to higher-quality games.
If I had to clear up one misconception about games, it’s that we often say that the longer a game was in development, clearly it’s a [more] high quality game
Various games, such as Too Human or Duke Nukem Forever, took years to develop, but still didn’t resonate with fans and become a success. According to Nelson Jr., extended development cycles often lead to time wasted in indecision.
Duke Nukem Forever didn’t achieve much success. (Image via Gearbox Software)
The majority of the time, game developers spend three to four years simply trying to figure out what kind of game they want to craft and only realize their dream in the final year. This kind of rushed execution ultimately harms the game’s quality. Clearly, it’s not just the years spent in development that matter, but how effectively developers use that time.
Strange Scaffold’s latest release is a success
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown is a success story. (Image via Strange Scaffold)
Well, if you’re looking to play one of Stange Scaffold’s incredible games, it’s time to give a shot to the newly released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown.
We’ve seen a plethora of games in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles verse, but none of them come close to what Strange Scaffold has delivered with TMNT: Tactical Takeover. It’s the first of its kind of franchise as it brings a turn-based strategy element.
Gamers control one Ninja turtle and navigate their way through grid-based maps while fighting it out against enemies and advancing to the level’s end. Initially, the slower-paced tactical style might seem a bit weird compared to the usual TMNT action.
However, Strange Scaffold has infused it with a level of energy and urgency. The game’s dynamic map progression pushes players to keep moving as previous titles vanish, adding more pressure. It’s a must-play title if you’re tired of your AAA catalog.
With that said, do you agree with Stange Scaffold’s boss? Let us know in the comments below.

Rough stretch for bonds may force some pensions to sell stocks Friday
Rough stretch for bonds may force some pensions to sell stocks Friday
The stock market is set to end May with strong returns, but that may actually work against equities on Friday. A note from the Goldman Sachs trading desk showed that U.S. pension funds are expected to sell $20 billion of equities as part of their month-end rebalancing. That total dollar value ranks in the 86th percentile for net buying or selling in similar rebalances since 2000, according to Goldman. The reason is many pension plans have target allocations for the relative value of their stock holdings versus other assets like bonds or private equity — a large scale version of the traditional 60/40 portfolio. And while stocks have had a banner month, bonds have struggled, meaning that some significant shifts are needed to bring the two groups back in balance when it comes to model portfolios. The SPDR S & P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) is up more than 6% month to date, while the iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT) is down nearly 4%. Short-term bonds have held up better, but even Vanguard’s Short-Term Treasury ETF (VGSH) is still on track for a negative month. TLT 1M mountain Long-dated bonds have struggled in May. “We’re not used to sort of seeing the volatility we’ve seen in bonds, as well, and especially when you’re working with something like pension funds or on the institution side, these fund flows can be in the billions easily. And when you start to see those rebalances take shape rather quickly, it can definitely be a short- to intermediate-term needle mover,” said Bret Kenwell, U.S. investment analyst at eToro. To be sure, the selling by pensions could be an opportunity for less rigid investors to buy. HSBC upgraded its view of U.S. stocks to neutral from underweight late Wednesday, in part because of light positioning among long-only investors. Friday could see a chance for some of those to jump back into stocks, especially if they are more confident after apparent progress on tariffs in recent weeks. “Whether it’s the 90-days pause or whether it’s pushing out deadlines with the EU or legal proceedings like we saw last night, I think there’s this sort of belief on Wall Street that we’ve seen the worst of the tariff situation shake out and that we should continue to move toward continued de-escalation,” Kenwell said. — CNBC’s Michael Bloom contributed to this report.

Schneider climbs to two-shot lead in Alpine Open
Germany’s Marcel Schneider claimed a two-shot lead after the first round of the Austrian Alpine Open in Salzburg.
Schneider carded an eagle and six birdies in an opening seven-under-par 63 at Gut Altentann Golf Club as the tournament returned to the DP World Tour schedule for the first time since 2021.
Compatriot Nicolai von Dellingshausen and Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts were Schneider’s nearest challengers on five under par, with Ryder Cup vice-captain Edoardo Molinari part of a group on four under.
Schneider told Sky Sports: “I started quite well obviously. I was in control on the greens, off the greens, long shots off the tee, so overall I’m actually super happy because coming into the week I didn’t feel too great to be honest.
“Today I managed well, I hit good shots and I hope to ride that wave.”
The highlight of Schneider’s round came when he holed out from 94 yards for an eagle on the par-four second, his 11th hole of the day.
“Off the tee I thought I was a touch left but it ended up in the fairway and then it was a perfect yardage for my 60 degree wedge,” Schneider added.
“I thought I can’t go long and it had a nice shift from right to left and lucky enough it finished in the hole.”
Australia’s David Micheluzzi was in a share of eighth place, four shots off the lead, after finishing with a three-under 67. Compatriot Daniel Gale was two under, with Danny List and Elvis Smylie one over. Jason Scrivener was 10 shots off the lead.
