  2. How to Complete The Tomb Main Quest Easter Egg in ****** Ops 6 Zombies Walkthrough How to Complete The Tomb Main Quest Easter Egg in ****** Ops 6 Zombies Walkthrough · · January 30, 2025 Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 Zombies welcomed The Tomb in Season 2, and its Main Quester Egg is another difficult endeavor. It’s tricky, like any CoD Zombies Easter Egg, but I’m here to guide you to glory and help you beat the boss. ****** Ops 6 has offered Zombies fans one slice of utterly irresistible and undead piece of cake after another. Liberty Falls and Terminus got us underway, and Citadelle des Morts joined soon after. 2025 barely started before ****** Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 had us excavating sacred ground in The Tomb. Even though the Zombies actors are probably now AI, a fresh Main Quest Easter Egg awaits in The Tomb. As does a series of consulted, neverending steps to complete the process. Let’s get started. How to Beat The Tomb Easter Egg in ****** Ops 6 Zombies Another day, another Easter Egg. Credit to Activision You need to assemble the Staff of Ice Wonder Weapon, upgrade it, complete several statue trials, and kill the Sentinel Artifact boss in The Tomb Zombies to beat the Easter Egg in ****** Ops 6. How to Assemble The Ice Staff Wonder Weapon in The Tomb Zombies Start a game of The Tomb. Reach the main objective area with the “Open the Doorway to Nowhere” task. Go to the pedestal and hold reload on it to trigger spawning portals. Purple Crystals suddenly pop up all over The Tomb map, meaing it’s time to obtain the Staff of Ice. You can either get lucky and pull it from the Mystery Box, use the Wonderbar Gobblegum to gain a Wonder Weapon (possibly the Ice Staff), or you need to build it. We have a full, detailed guide on how to build the Staff of Ice Wonder Weapon. Now we have it, we need to upgrade it. How To Upgrade The Staff of Ice in The Tomb Easter Egg Head into the undergound Subterranean Temple area. Around this area and its connecting rooms, use the Staff of Ice to shoot three Purple Crystals in quick succession—it’s believed to be about 10 seconds, but that’s unconfirmed. Do this correctly and a prompt appears with dialogue from a character called Archibald. Head back into the Dark Aether Nexus and look up at the floating rocks. Three of them have small, glowing purple symbols on them, and you need to hit them with Staff of Ice shots. Write down or remember the symbols on the rocks. Another quote should occur, and you now need to check the four Portal doors connecting the two worlds. One of them is now closed, so leave the Dark Aether Nexus, and go to the now-closed Portal. It should have several runes on it, and you need to shoot the three symbols—matching those of the three you shot in the Dark Aether Nexus—with the Staff of Ice. The Portal reopens if you’ve shot the correct runes, so head inside it. You are now on a rock way above the ground, and you need to hold reload on the purple orb in front of you. Follow the orb, shoot all the Zombies on the way, and keep doing this until it reach the rock formation where we crafted the Staff of Ice. Make sure the staff is equipped, go up to the hole filled in with the orb, and hold reload on the orb. The staff become’s the Ull’s Arrow, and you move onto the next phase. How To Complete Statue Trials in The Tomb Zombies Activate Sekhmet’s Vigor on the Staff of Ice: Left on the D-Pad for PlayStation & Xbox or B on PC. Near the Pack-A-Punch machine is a Blue Stone Statue (shaped like a Vermin enemy) and you need to use Sekhmet’s Vigor on the statue. Now, hold reload on the awakened statue to take its energy source. Exit the Dark Aether Nexus through the Blue Portal and head back to The Tomb’s spawn area. Find the corresponding Blue Stone Vermin Statue here, and hold reload to place the energy in the statue. Kill enough enemies in the designated area, and acquire the Amulet Energy from the statue. Head back to the Dark Aether Nexus through any door other than the Blue Portal—do note if you take to much damage, you lose the energy and you need to regain it from the original source. Put the Amulet Energy into the Blue Vermin Statue. Now, find a Yellow Statue (also right next to the PAP machine) and use Sekhmet’s Vigor on it. Take the energy, leave through the Yellow Portal, and place this energy into The Tomb’s Yellow Statue in Shrine of the Hierophants. Waves of enemies trigger, some of which will be consumed by purple energy, and you need to focus on killing them to harvest the energy. Every time you acquire purple energy, put it back into the statue in the middle of the room. Once completed, take the Amulet Energy, don’t take damage, use another different portal to enter the Dark Aether Nexus, and place the Amulet Energy into ther Nexus’ Yellow statue. A Green Statue is close to the PAP Machine, so use Sekhmet’s Vigor on it, take the energy, and leave through the Green Portal. Place is in the Ossuary’s Green Statue, kill the Doppleghasts (and other enemies), take the Amulet Energy, go into the Dark Aether Nexus, and put the source into the Green Statue. Finally, find the Red Statue in the Dark Aether Nexus, use Sekhmet’s Vigor on it, take the energy, and leave through the Red Portal. Use the energy on the Deep Excavation Statue, and complete the newest trial by killing the Amalgam Elite Enemy. Take the newest Amulet Energy, return to the Dark Aether Nexus, and put the energy into the Red Statue. Four stone pillars now activate, and it’s time to stock up on everything: Level 3 PAP Guns, Perks, and everything else to make you as strong and tough as possible as it’s time for the final boss. How To Activate And Kill The Boss in The Tomb Zombies Go to the rock where all four large purple laser beams are firing at in the Dark Aether Nexus. Hold reload on the altar, causing a bridge to materialize. Journey across the bridge, interact with the Artifact, vote yes (if there’s more than one of you), and the Sentinel Artifact Boss begins. Initially, you need to survive and avoid the orange version of the Sentinel Artifact and evade its beam while killing zombies. Once it turns Purple, focus your attention on dealing damage to the Sentinel Artifact. It’s now a phase-by-phase order of evading the orange form of the Sentinel Artifact(s), and damaging the purple form. When you’ve done enough damage, one of the later phases requires you to kill a Heavy Zombie with an orange Sentinal Artifact in it, so kill it, and destroy its Artifact once you’ve done this. Other different phases include a Doppleghast with an Artifact inside it, a Mimic with an Artifact inside it, and an Amalgam with an Artifact. Kill them all when they appear and destroy the Artifacts. The final phase requires to you destroy the central Sentinal Artifact to destroy the boss once and for all. Warning: If you don’t do this in time, you fail, and you (and any teammates) are eliminated, and you need to start from the very beginning! If you win though, interact with the Artifact in the middle of the area, and you officially complete The Tomb’s Main Quest Easter Egg. Simple, right? The Tomb’s Main Quest Easter Egg is complex, complicated, and as chaos-inducing as any in CoD Zombies history. I sincerely hope you don’t get to the end and fall at the final fatal hurdle. Let me know how you got on, and which part gave you the most trouble. For non-Zombies content, check out how to disable crossplay, and everything we know about DMZ possibly returning to Call of Duty. 4. a new play brings the experience of war in Gaza to the US a new play brings the experience of war in Gaza to the US “How far can you run in five minutes?” It’s a critical question the actor and writer Khawla Ibraheem asks the audience during her solo show A Knock on the Roof. The play follows Miriam, played by Ibraheem, a young mother training to survive an Israeli bombing in Gaza. “A quarter of a mile,” someone replies. Miriam meditates for a beat. “That’s really slow, you know,” she says as the audience laughs. A Knock on the Roof is a blunt and poignant work, named after the Israeli military’s practice of “roof knocking”, in which residents are notified by a warning bomb that they have just five to 15 minutes to evacuate before a larger missile flattens their homes. The play, which opened Monday at the New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) as part of the Under the Radar festival, brims with love, wry humor and grief as it follows Miriam’s obsessive training to leave her home. In the 85-minute show, Miriam sets a series of five-minute timers and rehearses how she, her son and her elderly mother will flee from their seventh-floor apartment after the “roof knock”: down the stairs, as the elevator will be out of order; past Yasmeen, her know-it-all neighbor on the third floor; over the loose floor tile in the stairwell; and, finally, out the door. Along with the anxiety of the impending roof knock, the solo show includes other details about Miriam’s life under Israeli occupation, including how she raises her young son while her husband studies abroad. For instance, she spends long stretches of time waiting for the electricity to be restored, which Miriam comments on as she monologues about the other frustrations of her day. The shelled-out buildings in her neighborhood are rendered via eerie projections, juxtaposed with colorful umbrellas and an expansive beach. These specifics aren’t written voyeuristically. They’re simply facts of Miriam’s life, just like Miriam’s expansive facial routine or her nosy mother or her adorable but stubborn six-year-old son. “We don’t get the story of those people that survived this war [and] their experience,” Ibraheem told the Guardian. “And about the fact that during wartime, you can also do laundry or laugh with your mother and son, or you need to do daily things to survive.” Miriam, a fictional character, is a culmination of Ibraheem’s research, dozens of conversations with people from Gaza and others who have experienced war, and dashes of Ibraheem’s own life to fill in differences between the two. Miriam “is a fighter. She’s strong. Not only in terms of a war,” said Ibraheem. She is “basically a single mother raising a child in an impossible place alone, and she’s making the best out of it”. Miriam and Ibraheem overlap in significant ways: their proclivity towards sarcasm and their experience with war. “I come from a place where war has recently become a state of mind,” said Ibraheem, who’s Syrian and lives in the Israeli-occupied, annexed Golan Heights. Though she hasn’t experienced a “roof knock”, which mainly happens in Gaza, Ibraheem felt compelled to write about the subject, as she empathized with people “paying the price of a war [they’re] not a part of”, Ibraheem said, calling Golan Heights’ situation a “soft occupation”. “I never saw a tank in the state of the Golan Heights. I never needed to run from a soldier,” she said. But, farmers in the Golan Heights struggle with the cost of water and maintaining the land, while Israeli settlers enjoy such privileges for free. Residents of Golan Heights cannot enter Syria due to border restrictions, but they can visit Palestine. “This is like a historical coincidence that I’m in touch with the ************ people,” Ibraheem said. Still, Ibraheem and her community have experienced the violence of war. On 27 July 2023, 12 children were killed by a rocket while playing on a football field in Majdal Shams. “When a rocket lands, [it] does not know how it’s killing and why it’s killing,” she said of the tragic event. “We experienced the loss of the war between Israel and Hezbollah, although we are not part of [that] war.” Ibraheem first conceived of A Knock on the Roof in 2014 after reading an article about people in Gaza packing preparation bags in case of missile strikes. Inspired, she wrote a 10-minute monologue, called “what does it do to you when you know that in five to 15 minutes your house will be gone”, Ibraheem said. In 2021, Ibraheem and the director Oliver Butler further developed the excerpt into a full-length play, using Miriam’s evacuation drills as the through-line. “What I saw was just a really clear engine for a story and the beginnings of a character who might become consumed with preparation,” said Butler of Ibraheem’s early idea. The fact that the play remains relevant more than 10 years later is “terrifying”, said Ibraheem. Ibraheem and Butler, who called Ibraheem a “theater soulmate”, have remained in close collaboration after first meeting in 2019 at the now defunct Sundance Theatre Lab in Park City, Utah. Ibraheem was developing a comedy called London Jenin in collaboration with the Freedom Theatre, a ************ community theater in the Jenin refugee camp. The play focuses on two Palestinians in a *** immigration office practicing their entrance interviews while debating on relocating to London versus remaining in their homeland. Ibraheem’s work, Butler said, often includes themes of “trappedness, freedom and rehearsal”. Related: If you want to know how free a society is, look at what’s happening in its theatres | Arifa Akbar In May 2023, Butler, who is from Connecticut and lives in New York, visited Ibraheem in Golan Heights to continue working on A Knock on the Roof. The trip proved a “creative dream” but a “massive education”, Butler said. When he first arrived, seven people in Gaza were killed by an Israeli rocket, putting the entire region “on the verge of war”. Performing a reading of A Knock on the Roof in Ramallah, located in the West Bank, exposed Butler firsthand to checkpoints. An avid hiker, he was walking up a mountain when he came across a menacing sign, which read: “Go no further. Landmines [ahead].” “What feels like such a safe, beautiful place full of family and art also has minefields all around,” he said. The play almost didn’t happen several times due to safety concerns in the region, said Ibraheem. “Flights are canceled and war is happening,” she said. “Suddenly, the safety of being in a theater stopped being so taken for granted.” With the show now making its US premiere at NYTW, Ibraheem and Butler say that audiences have generally received the show positively. But some people have complained, claiming that the show is antisemitic because it features a ************ protagonist. “Are we saying that the existence of a character who’s ************ is dangerous or offensive?” said Butler. “If a character can’t exist on stage like this, then you’re saying that that person should not be allowed to exist.” Patricia McGregor, the NYTW artistic director, said the theater had caught flak for debuting A Knock on the Roof. “I remember seeing somebody [online] saying: ‘Oh, you’re doing this antisemitic play,’” McGregor said. “And I think that assumption [comes from] doing a play that centers a mother in Gaza, living her life and trying to make sure her child survives, an assumption which is just not true.” NYTW has a longstanding, although imperfect, relationship with ************ artwork and artists. Noor Theatre, which supports Middle Eastern artists, is an NYTW company-in-residence, and in 2012, NYTW put on the group’s Food and Fadwa, a dramedy about a ************ family living near Bethlehem. In December 2024, the playwright Victor I Cazares, a former NYTW artist-in-residence, launched an ****-medicine strike after the theater did not call for a ceasefire; the protest caused a storm of controversy, with criticism lodged both at NYTW and Cazares. “I think there was an unfortunate avalanche of feelings and assumptions about what political alignment was happening,” said McGregor. “There were differing opinions about what strategies we use to try to get people to pay attention and to change hearts and minds.” Programming artwork like Ibraheem’s, McGregor said, is among the most effective things a theater can do to spark conversations and reach across divides. For Ibraheem, A Knock on the Roof provides a rare opportunity to capture the intimacy of wartime alongside the everyday emotions: fear, irritation, joy. One of the most magical moments, she said, is when audiences laugh with Miriam and her attempts to juggle it all. “I don’t want people to sit in on the play and be in solidarity with me,” she said. “I want them to sit there and to be with me, and once they laugh, I feel that they are with me.” Source link #play #brings #experience #war #Gaza Pelican News View the full article at [Hidden Content] For verified travel tips and real support, visit: [Hidden Content]

  8. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Sold 1.3 Million Units in Its First Year Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Sold 1.3 Million Units in Its First Year · · January 30, 2025 An Associate Marketing Director at Ubisoft has claimed that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sold 1.3 million units in its first year. First spotted by X user Timur222, the Associate Marketing Director’s LinkedIn profile says that the game sold 1.3 million units in its first year, a number not too surprising as Insider Gaming reported in October 2024 that the game had sold approximately 1 million units in its first 9 months. The game sold 300,000 copies in its first month. As reported then, the game failed to meet Ubisoft’s internal expectations, and a Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sequel was not greenlit. Its team would move over to other Ubisoft projects, including Beyond Good and Evil 2, Project Over (a next mainline Ghost Recon game), and Project Steambot, and a Rayman Remake in development at Ubisoft Milan. The game received generally favourable reviews on launch across all versions of the game on review aggregator Metacritic and while the game failed to miss internal expectations is unknown, it’s likely attributed to Ubisoft’s recent public perception, which has dwindled in recent years due to poor decisions and a lack of understanding the current gaming landscape. As for other Prince of Persia projects, the Sands of Time Remake continues development after being rebooted and is slated for 2026. Ubisoft has opted to completely know everything we know about the remake, including recasting the original actor Yuri Lowenthal. Six Nations 2025: Sam Prendergast starts at fly-half for Ireland against England Six Nations 2025: Sam Prendergast starts at fly-half for Ireland against England Prendergast was seen with a heavily strapped leg in training earlier this week but attack coach Andrew Goodman played down any injury concerns on Tuesday. After being preferred to Crowley for the win over Australia in November, Prendergast started all four of Leinster’s Investec Champions Cup pool games, scoring two tries against Bristol at Ashton Gate. However, Saturday will be by far the biggest game of the Kildare native’s career as he will be expected to orchestrate Ireland’s attack against an England side who won last year’s encounter at Twickenham. “We’ve enjoyed some competitive [training] sessions and it wasn’t easy selecting a squad for this week’s game given the quality of those who haven’t made the final 23,” said Easterby. “Credit to those who missed out on selection for this game, there was obvious disappointment but they all stepped up brilliantly to help prepare the team this week. “England are a talented squad with quality across their panel and we know that we will need to hit the ground running to deliver a winning performance.” Ringrose’s inclusion is the only change to Ireland’s backline from the Australia game. Hugo Keenan remains at full-back while Mack Hansen starts on the right wing after serving his three-game ban for criticising the officials in Connacht’s defeat by Leinster in December. James Lowe, who returned from injury in Leinster’s win over Stormers last week, starts on the left wing with Jamison Gibson-Park at scrum-half as expected. 11. Who Are the 3 Israeli Hostages Released Thursday? Who Are the 3 Israeli Hostages Released Thursday? ****** released eight hostages, including three Israelis and five Thais, on Thursday as part of a hostage-for-prisoner exchange, more than a year after they were taken captive during the ******-led attack on southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Agam Berger, an Israeli army soldier, was released first in a highly choreographed ceremony in northern Gaza. A second hostage release in southern Gaza descended into chaos as crowds pushed forward to try to get a glimpse of them. The hostage release is part of a 42-day cease-fire deal that went into effect this month, pausing the fighting between Israel and ******. ****** agreed to incrementally release 33 of the nearly 100 remaining hostages in exchange for more than 1,000 Palestinians jailed by Israel and a partial Israeli withdrawal. Here’s a closer look at the Israelis released on Thursday. Agam Berger Ms. Berger was 19 and recently assigned as a lookout when ******-led militants stormed the Nahal Oz army base where she was working, killing more than 50 soldiers and abducting her and six other soldiers. Four of them were earlier released in an exchange on Saturday. Ms. Berger’s mother, Meirav, said she last saw her daughter when they dropped her off at the base on Oct. 5, 2023, two days before the attack. According to a website created by her family, and her parents’ accounts in Israeli news media, Ms. Berger called her parents in the middle of the attack, using the phone of a friend who was killed next to her. She told them that she could hear shots being fired and that people were crying, but that she was not afraid, according to the website. In November 2023, Agam Goldstein-Almog, who was taken captive with her daughter and two sons and was released as part of the first cease-fire deal, said that she had been held in a tunnel with Ms. Berger and the other soldiers serving as lookouts who had been captured. She said that Ms. Berger was praying a lot, and seemed to be in good spirits. In August, Ms. Berger’s family held an event to mark her birthday at Tel Aviv’s Anu Museum of the Jewish People, centered on music because she is passionate about music and plays the violin. She has a twin sister and two other siblings. Gadi Moses Gadi Moses, a farming expert, was abducted in Kibbutz Nir Oz after stepping out of his home to try to reason with the militants. His partner, Efrat Katz, hid inside a safe room in their home with her daughter and two visiting grandchildren, before they were also taken by militants. Their kidnapping was captured on video that showed them squashed in the back of a pickup truck. Ms. Katz was killed when an Israeli helicopter, responding to the ******-led assault, fired on the vehicle in which she was being held. Her daughter and grandchildren were released during the November 2023 cease-fire. Mr. Moses, then 79, was seen in December of 2023 in a video released by ************ Islamic ******, calling on Israel to work for his release. The family said in September that they had had no word of his fate since. Arbel Yehud Arbel Yehud was 28 when she was taken hostage along with her boyfriend, Ariel Cunio, from their home on Kibbutz Nir Oz in southern Israel. Mr. Cunio is believed to still be held captive. Her brother, Dolev Yehud, a medic, was thought to be a hostage as well but was identified last year as having been killed during the Oct. 7 attack. Ms. Yehud’s family has described her as passionate about space and astronomy and said she had worked as a guide at a space and technology center. In February, her father, Yechi Yehud, told The Daily Mail that he had been avoiding watching or reading any news so as not to raise his hopes for a deal. Her mother, Yael Yehud, described herself as “broken” and said she often imagined her children walking through the door again. On Ms. Yehud’s 29th birthday in June, her close friend, Shani Goren, who had been a hostage and was released in the first cease-fire deal, spoke at a rally in Tel Aviv and described the difficulty of recovering. “Every day I wake up, I’m still held hostage,” she said. “Because until Arbel and everyone else return home, we can’t even begin to discuss rehabilitation and moving forward. I know. I was there.” Ms. Yehud had been expected to be released on Saturday, prompting one of the most significant disputes between Israel and ****** since the start of the cease-fire. Israeli officials had said they believed she was not being held by ******, and had suggested that another militant group was responsible for the holdup in her release. The ************ Islamic ****** on Monday released a video, which an analysis by The New York Times dates to Jan. 25, in which she says, “My family, I’m OK. I miss you endlessly and I hope to return to you soon, like the girls who had been released.” Rights groups and international law experts have noted that, by definition, such hostage videos are made under duress, and that the statements in them are usually coerced. 14. BBC apologises after report into comedian’s behaviour BBC apologises after report into comedian’s behaviour The BBC has apologised to staff members who felt unable to raise concerns about Russell Brand’s behaviour while he worked at the corporation. The apology came as the BBC published the findings of an internal review into Brand’s time as a presenter for BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music between 2006 and 2008. The investigation considered eight complaints, two of which were made while he worked for the corporation. One of those, which related to him urinating into a cup during a Radio 2 show, was registered formally at the time, and the BBC report has admitted it was “not dealt with effectively”. The BBC launched the investigation after several women accused the actor and comedian in 2023 of *****, ******* assaults and emotional abuse. Brand has denied all allegations and said his relationships were “always consensual”. In its report, published on Thursday, the BBC acknowledged that Brand was “perceived to be too influential” for staff to complain about. While only one informal complaint was made, the report said “it is clear that there were other concerns but those involved felt unable or unwilling to raise these at the time as they felt the concerns would not be taken seriously and the systems for making complaints were not as clear as they are now”. It added that “there should have been better systems in place to ensure that Brand’s unacceptable behaviour was promptly picked up and addressed”. Thursday’s report found that “only one formal complaint was made about Brand’s inappropriate conduct in the workplace” during his stint on air, and beyond that there was “no evidence that his behaviour was raised with management formally at the time”. The review also found that Brand had consensual sex with a competition winner from his 6 Music show on BBC premises. 16. 3 Steel Stocks Soaring After Tariff Announcements 3 Steel Stocks Soaring After Tariff Announcements The broader stock market sentiment has been shaky due to concerns that President Trump will implement potential trade tariffs, affecting some of the major industries in the United States economy and those of its trading partners. However, some of the market’s signals may indicate that these tariffs may be a positive development for domestic manufacturing stocks. That is why three stocks in the steelmaking industry saw positive and leading price action over the past five days. They are looking to end the first month of 2025 on a strong note. As momentum builds up in these names, it may trigger the floodgates for continued momentum into the coming months. This theme is justified by the recent sentiment of Wall Street analysts and the activity of institutional accumulation. Broader economic trends, which will become clear in just a minute, will help investors push their portfolios into double-digit upside potential through shares of Cleveland-Cliffs (NYSE:) or United States Steel (NYSE:) and even an overseas steelmaker play in Brazil to deal with China’s demand coming back online through Ternium (NYSE:). Here is why today’s list of stocks should be additions to any portfolio. 1. Cleveland-Cliffs Stock: The Biggest Discount The worst performer on this list in recent years under a strong dollar regime, Cleveland-Cliffs stock is now trading at just 44% of its 52-week high. This has made it the “low-hanging fruit” Wall Street analysts were eager to upgrade and boost. With the President’s view in place, which calls for lower interest rates and a lower dollar to boost domestic manufacturing, on top of the tariffs being placed on trading partners, it looks like business activity will be headed to these domestic markets, as shown in recent price action. Over the past month, Cleveland-Cliffs stock delivered a run of up to 8.6% to outperform the broader S&P 500 index by as much as 7% during the same *******, which starts to signal to investors that the market is becoming more bullish on these steel stocks. More than that, Wall Street analysts see a $16.9 price target for Cleveland-Cliffs stock today, calling for up to 69.2% upside from where the stock trades today, giving investors one of the best risk-to-reward ratios in the market today to get their 2025 aligned with market-beating performance. 2. United States Steel, No Deal Means Good Deal Now that the takeover deal for United States Steel has been blocked by Japanese maker Nippon Steel, the message investors can take away is that insiders are aware of how cheap this company is today, so they would instead reject the offer and wait until industry dynamics improve along with valuations. This view might explain why the company’s short interest has consistently declined for the past three quarters, giving investors an implication for bearish capitulation, with a 3.1% decline in the past month alone. The underlying earnings growth backs this retreat and potential upside for the future of United States Steel stock. Wall Street analysts now forecast up to $0.96 in earnings per share (EPS) for the same quarter 12 months from now, meaning a net growth rate of 71.5% from today’s level of $0.56. Since stock prices are typically driven by underlying EPS growth, this forecast might justify a potential double-digit upside in the stock for the coming months. 3. Ternium Stock’s Premium Is Justified Even though Ternium stock trades at 66% of its 52-week high today, its valuations still call for premiums over peers and the rest of the industry. More specifically, the company’s price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 73.3x today calls for a steep premium above the industry’s 19.4x average multiple today. The market is willing to pay this high premium because of the underlying growth they expect to see in this name. Because China’s manufacturing activity has been expanding for the past three months, and its trade activity has followed, demand for steel and iron ore will also likely spike. In today’s trade routes, it is Brazil that meets China’s demand for these materials, which explains the consensus price target of $55 for Ternium stock today, implying a net upside of as much as 87.5% from where it trades today. More than that, management is so confident about the company’s future that they’ve kept a $1.80 per share dividend payout. On an annualized basis, this would translate into a dividend yield of up to 6.1% today, beating all inflation rates that might come in the United States, which comes on top of the massive upside potential in the price. 17. Remember when Model Cleaners’ building held more than its longstanding laundromat? Remember when Model Cleaners’ building held more than its longstanding laundromat? FOND DU LAC – One of Fond du Lac’s historical buildings held the start of several iconic establishments. Model Cleaners started as Model Laundry Co. in 1908 and never moved from the building at 66 N. Macy St. ever since. Built in 1869, that building held one of the city’s first post offices before Model Laundry moved in. A few years into the business, four horse-drawn wagons started providing pickup and delivery service. According to The Reporter archives, the drivers had their horses so well trained they could make their routes without touching the reins. Horses weren’t uncommon for the time, but these horses were very popular with local children, who offered to hold and pat them while the workers made their deliveries. According to a 1913 article in The Daily Commonwealth, The Reporter’s predecessor, the business had its own artesian well and offered drinking water from the faucet on the side of the building to the public for free. The Model Cleaners building, 66 S. Macy St., built in 1868. Decades later, a rise in popularity for wash-and-wear clothes — rather than dryclean only — and washing machines as a staple appliance in local homes led the business to expand its services in the 1970s. This included linen, uniform and other rentals for commercial and industrial businesses, as well as on-location rug and furniture steam cleaning, both in 1973. They expanded the rental service in the 1980s and 1990s. This is one way Model Cleaners adapted to survive more than 100 years, through the Great Depression and other economic downturns, as well as the continuous rise in water, fuel and other utility rates. In its 100th year in 2008, not only did the business face a particularly poor economy, but also the effects of that year’s June flood, causing the most damage out of any flood the laundromat had experienced in the past. More than 3 feet of water flooded the 2,800-square-foot basement, destroying most of the washing machine motors. Model Cleaners never closed during that time, operating as best it could with what it had, with help from employees, friends and some Milwaukee drycleaning companies. In return, Model Cleaners washed several hundred pounds for affected entities like the Solutions Center, which had to relocate. Steve North, one of three owners alongside Ed Enders and Pam Koenig, told The Reporter in 2008 one of things that kept Model Cleaners afloat all these years was its focus on customer service, with the knowledge that if they lost a customer, it’d be “big news.” Koenig added at the time that the connection between Fond du Lac, customers and staff was the key to success. In 2024, the owners decided to permanently close Model Cleaners after 116 years as they transition into the next phase of their lives. 18. Here’s what Wall Street analysts had to say about Meta Platform’s latest earnings report Here’s what Wall Street analysts had to say about Meta Platform’s latest earnings report Analysts liked what they heard from Meta Platforms late Wednesday. The tech giant reported fourth-quarter earnings and revenue that beat expectations , with sales surging 21% year over year. The company also said net income expanded by 49% from the year-earlier *******. CEO Mark Zuckerberg also lauded President Donald Trump and said: “We now have a U.S. administration that is proud of our leading companies, prioritizes American technology winning.” He added that 2025 will be a year in which Meta can redefine its government relationships. Shares advanced about 1.4% in the premarket on Thursday. Here’s what analysts at some of the biggest shops on Wall Street had to say about the results. Goldman Sachs: buy rating, $765 per share price target Analyst Eric Sheridan’s forecast calls for roughly 13% upside from Wednesday’s $676.49 close. “While debates will likely persist around product transitions and industry platform headwinds in the quarters & years ahead, we remain focused on Meta’s large scaled audience across their Family of Apps against which the company can continue to align evolving consumption habits within short-form video, messaging, commerce, augmented reality & social connections.” KeyBanc: overweight rating, $750 per share price target KeyBanc’s outlook implies about 11% upside ahead. “Meta is executing well on product development (positive for revenue growth) and server useful lives are lengthening,” analyst Justin Patterson wrote on Wednesday. “While opex growth is starting the year higher than envisioned, we believe this reinforces our view that Meta is investing in strength and this should lead to a medium-term EPS and FCF inflection.” Morgan Stanley: overweight, $660 per share price target Meta Platforms has already run passed Morgan Stanley’s price target, which now equates to about 2% downside. “Big picture, META’s multiple could expand over the course of the year as we see its consumer and advertiser sources of utility and repeat engagement and incremental monetization grow,” analyst Brian Nowak said. Wells Fargo: overweight, $752 per share price target The firm’s outlook implies more than 11% upside for Meta. “We see META as an accelerating growth story with emerging upside AI options in messaging, ad tools and new consumer applications,” analyst Ken Gawrelski said. “Combined with a newfound appetite for efficiency, we believe META should be a steady earnings compounder at a reasonable multiple.” Bank of America: buy, $765 per share price target “While earnings momentum will stall in 2025, we think Meta sent a positive tone on an ‘exciting product roadmap’ for Meta AI, Llama, Meta Coding agent and Meta AI glasses and a ‘opportunity to deliver strong revenue growth’ without any real headwind warnings (outside of FX),” analyst Justin Post said. “We think a higher multiple is justified as Meta’s Al driven ad improvements are still early (rev. upside), while Meta is building big AI assets with an internal Al supercomputer, inhouse LLM and custom Al chips to leverage massive Facebook, Instagram and messaging user pools,” he added. Deutsche Bank: buy rating, $800 price target The bank raised its price target to $800 from $705 following the results, implying upside of 18%. Meta delivered a strong 4Q print, and a 1Q revenue outlook that, at the high-end, just hit street / buyside expectations. Importantly, as data center capacity comes online throughout 2025, Meta will have the ability to leverage their infrastructure to both train their latest foundational models and to support the core platform, driving near-term revenue growth durability (a luxury the company did not have in 2024 when Meta was supply constrained),” analyst Benjamin ****** wrote. 19. Comcast (CMCSA) earnings Q4 2024 Comcast (CMCSA) earnings Q4 2024 Comcast topped Wall Street’s fourth-quarter estimates on Thursday as revenue from the company’s broadband business gave it a boost despite losing customers. Here is how the company performed for the quarter, compared with average analyst estimates from LSEG: Earnings per share: 96 cents adjusted vs 86 centsRevenue: $31.92 billion vs. $31.64 billion Comcast shares were slightly down in premarket trading. For the quarter ended Dec. 31, net income attributable to Comcast rose roughly 47% to $4.78 billion, or $1.24 per share, compared with $3.26 billion, or 81 cents per share, a year earlier. Adjusting for one-time items, including interest expense and the value of certain assets, Comcast reported earnings per share of 96 cents for the *******. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was up about 10% to $8.81 billion. In addition to higher broadband revenue, Comcast’s overall revenue was up 2% to $31.92 billion thanks to an increase in segments including its mobile business, the film studio and revenue growth at streaming service Peacock. During the fourth quarter of 2023, Comcast reported revenue of $31.25 billion. While the cable industry has seen broadband customer growth slump in recent quarters, the business has remained a key driver on balance sheets like Comcast’s as pricing has gone up and average revenue per user has risen. Comcast reported Thursday that it lost 139,000 domestic broadband customers during the fourth quarter, as Comcast Cable CEO Dave Watson had warned during an investor conference in December. The broadband unit is part of Comcast’s Connectivity and Platforms segment, which also includes Xfinity Mobile wireless, which was launched in 2017. The company surpassed 7.8 million mobile lines and revenue from the unit helped propel overall residential connectivity revenue. Comcast lost 311,000 cable TV customers during the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, revenue for the company’s Content and Experiences business, which includes NBCUniversal’s TV networks and streaming, the film studio and theme parks, was up 5% to roughly $12.08 billion during the fourth quarter. Revenue for the media segment, which includes the TV Networks, was up 3.5% to about $7.22 billion, namely due to higher revenue for streamer Peacock due to an uptick in paid subscribers on the platform from the prior year. Overall domestic advertising for the media segment was flat as ad dollars for Peacock increased but the TV networks saw a smaller haul. In November, Comcast announced it would spinoff its cable network channels, a portfolio that includes CNBC, MSNBC, E!, Syfy, USA, Oxygen and the Golf Channel. The separation, which will also include digital assets like Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes, is expected to take about a year. The NBC broadcast network, cable channel Bravo and Peacock will remain with Comcast. Comcast reported Peacock had 36 million paid subscribers in the fourth quarter, flat from the prior *******. Peacock has been moving toward profitability in recent quarters. The streamer, which has been driven by live sports like the Summer Olympics and NFL, reported $1.3 billion in fourth-quarter revenue and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $372 million, compared with $1 billion in revenue and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $825 million in the same ******* last year. Universal Studios’ revenue was up 6.7% to $3.27 billion and the segment’s adjusted EBITDA was up 85% to $569 million, boosted by the box office successes of films including “Kung Fu Panda 4,” “Despicable Me 4,” “The Wild Robot” and “Wicked.” Meanwhile, Theme Parks revenue was flat as lower attendance persisted at domestic locations. 23. ‘Green and Gold’ Review: Betting the Farm on Football Games ‘Green and Gold’ Review: Betting the Farm on Football Games To bet the farm, or not to bet the farm. That is the question in “Green and Gold,” something of a shaggy dog story “inspired by true events,” according to a title card, that aims to pull at our heartstrings. In the movie, directed by Anders Lindwall, Craig T. Nelson plays Buck, a farmer in 1990s Wisconsin who, according to the antagonistic banker foreclosing on him, “farms like it’s the 1800s.” Buck’s plucky singer-songwriter granddaughter Jenny (Madison Lawlor) says that’s because the soil there is so special, which doesn’t sway the creditor. Her grandfather is also a big Green Bay Packers fan. So much so that he contrives to bet his property against the outcome of a football season. Depending on how you look at it, Buck is an integrity-laden underdog, or a willful, truculent fool who may or may not get lucky with his bet. While it speaks well of Nelson’s integrity as a performer that he doesn’t make much effort to render Buck as ingratiating, the result is that the character can be a bit of a drag. His affection for his wife, Margaret (Annabel Armour), shows his softer side. The story follows the trajectory familiar to aficionados of Hallmark movies; about 45 minutes in, things start looking up for the characters. Which means that (and you can almost set your watch by it) within an hour and 15 minutes, everything goes to manure, so to speak. But not to worry. To mix metaphors, as this movie tends to do, the ball is recovered. Green and Gold Running time: 1 hour 43 minutes. In theaters. 25. Aurora supercomputer is now fully operational, available to researchers Aurora supercomputer is now fully operational, available to researchers Argonne National Laboratory this week said that its Aurora supercomputer is now fully operational and is available to the scientific community. The machine, which was announced in 2015 and faced massive delays, now offers over 1 FP64 ExaFLOPS performance for simulation as well as 11.6 mixed precision ExaFLOPS for artificial intelligence and machine learning. “We are ecstatic to officially deploy Aurora for open scientific research,” said Michael Papka, director of the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF), a DOE Office of Science user facility. “Early users have given us a glimpse of Aurora’s vast potential. We are eager to see how the broader scientific community will use the system to transform their research.” The availability of the Aurora supercomputer for open scientific research may be considered a formal acceptance of the system by ARNL, which marks an important milestone for the troubled machine. Initially planned for 2018, Aurora missed this target due to Intel’s decision to discontinue its Xeon Phi processors. After the machine was re-architected, the project faced further setbacks due to Intel’s 7nm process technology delay, pushing the completion date to 2021 and then again to 2023. Even after the hardware was installed in June 2023, it took several months for the system to be fully operational and achieve exascale performance, which it finally reached in May 2024. Yet, for well over half a year, the system was only available to select researchers. (Image credit: Intel) While Aurora is not the most powerful supercomputer for simulations, as its FP64 performance barely exceeds one ExaFLOPS, it is the most powerful system for AI as it can achieve 11.6 mixed precision ExaFLOPS according to the HPL-MxP benchmark. “A big target for Aurora is training large language models for science,” said Rick Stevens, Argonne associate laboratory director for Computing, Environment and Life Sciences. “With the AuroraGPT project, for example, we are building a science-oriented foundation model that can distill knowledge across many domains, from biology to chemistry. One of the goals with Aurora is to enable researchers to create new AI tools that help them make progress as fast as they can think — not just as fast as their computations.” Some of the first research projects using Aurora are detailed simulations of intricate systems, such as the human circulatory system, nuclear reactors, and supernova explosions. The machine’s overwhelming performance is also instrumental in processing data from major research centers, such as Argonne’s Advanced Photon Source (APS) and CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. Get Tom’s Hardware’s best news and in-depth reviews, straight to your inbox. “The projects running on Aurora represent some of the most ambitious and innovative science happening today,” said Katherine Riley, ALCF director of science. “From modeling extremely complex physical systems to processing huge amounts of data, Aurora will accelerate discoveries that deepen our understanding of the world around us.” On the hardware side, Aurora clearly impresses. The supercomputer comprises 166 racks, each holding 64 blades, for a total of 10,624 blades. Each blade contains two Xeon Max processors with 64 GB of HBM2E memory onboard and six Intel Data Center Max ‘Ponte Vecchio’ GPUs, all cooled by a specialized liquid-cooling system.
